A/N: This is my first Hermione/ Aquaman fiction, actually first Harry Potter/ Aquaman fiction all together. Hermione was ordered to go somewhere, which no one else knew about, for her own safety from the rogue death-eaters. She ends up moving into the house, which her grandmother had left her father. She meets some friends, and love. Sorry I am bad at summary's.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything except my imagination. These lovely characters belong to different wonderful creators.
Love at the Lighthouse
Hermione stood on the cliff, staring down at the ocean-side town, and smiled, "It's so beautiful here." She looked down at the photo of his parents, allowing a tear to slide down her cheek. She was able to see the lighthouse, from the little house on the hill, and smiled.
Much like her late father, she loved lighthouses. Beacons of lights, that helped guide stranded sailors at sea, to find safe passage. When her parents died, while she was off fighting in a wizarding war, she had inherited everything including the house near the cliff she currently was now. Her father's mother had left it to him, and in turn, he left it to his only child.
Although she was happy here, it hadn't been the place she wanted to be, during this time after the war. Kingsly had told her to go somewhere safe, that no one except for her closest friends, would be aware of. There were some rogue Death-Eaters, who wanted to kill her, and so now she was here in Maine.
Only people who knew about her whereabout were her two secret keepers Draco Malfoy, and Neville Longbottom. She chose Draco, because they had something close to a friendship, which only a handful of the trusted friends knew, and the Death Eaters didn't know that since they went on the run before she formed a friendship with the blonde after his father had died. She chose Neville, because not only was he her very first friend, when she came to Hogwarts, his grandmother had taken her in through a magical adoption at the death of her parents. Plus he wasn't sought after, as the original golden tro. She didn't want her two best friends to be her secret keepers, because they were Arora's, and she didn't want them to have any added stress. Although they were being sought after, she was the number one target, since she was the muggle-born who helped put an end to the war.
"Miss Avery was going to the market, and wanted to see if you'd like a ride down," Joe, who was one of the residents in this small town, had made it a point with his wife to check on her to see if she needed anything. He had a jeep, which made it easier to drive up, and down the mountain or any other terrain.
Mia Avery, was the name she chose while in hiding, Mia being the nickname her father used for her, and Avery, being the maiden name of her mothers. She smiled at her friend, "That would be wonderful, Joe. How is Milli?"
"She is doing good, taking care of Tara, she just had her puppies," Answered the older man, as he helped the witch into his car. He smiled, as he got into his car, "Eight puppies, seven of them are strong, but the las' back there isn't going to make it through the night. I was taking it to the beach, so it could experience the beauty, or at least feel and taste the salt of the air closer to the shores." He pointed to a basket between them, which the witch thought was full of pastries, as he lowered the cloth, "She is the prettiest one of the bunch."
"May I have her," Asked the young woman, as she lifted the bundle, and brought it to her chest. She used a little wandless magic, without the other man knowing, and smiled at the st. bernard pup, "You are stronger than anyone knows, aren't you baby?"
The puppy let out a little squeak of an attempt of a bark, causing the man to shout with excitement, "That's the first time she made any noise," he studied the woman beside him and saw how lovingly she was looking at the puppy, "Tell you what Mia, since her being the ru7nt of the litter, she may not get as much milk as the others so maybe you should keep her. That way you have company, and she gets the love she needs."
Hermione's eyes filled with tears, as she thought about Hagrid's dog Fang, looking down at the brown and white little face, "I think I'll call you Fang. After one of the sweetest, the most protective dog I ever knew," She let out a giggle when the puppy let out a little bit louder Yep. "I promise I will take good care of her, Joe."
"I believe you will," The man stopped, and looked at the little puppy, "Well do you want to stay down here, or head ba-"
"I will still take her to the beach," The witch answered, smiling at the man. "I might get her some stuff, then head back home. Fresh air will do her some good."
"Well knowing she has a better chance of life now then I will pick up some lunch and bring it home. You have our number if you need a right back up the mountain," Joe got out of the car and helped his passenger out. "Thank you."
She wrapped an arm around the man, before stepping back, "I will probably go by the lighthouse, and take some pictures. Also let Fang run around."
"Just be careful, Thomas's son doesn't take kind to trespassers, or strangers," Joe laughed out loud, shaking his head, "But again I haven't seen him since his father passed away. Just be careful though."
"I promise, Joe," The young woman responded, as she started walking away, making her way towards her destination. Leaving her friend to do his errands.

Three Months Later
Arthur stared down from the lighthouse, where his parents had once shared there first kiss, and eternal love to one another. After helping with the Justice league, he returned back home, not quiet ready to return to the Atlantis. It was around twelve noon, and he had went directly to the tavern which was packed with the usual crowd, and then wandered back to his childhood home crashing up in the tower of the lighthouse. He was staring down at the snow covered shores, and spotted some one waist deep in the water, while a dog ran from side to side barking at the figure.
He cupped his mouth, to shout at the nut job, "HEY, GET OUT OF THE WATER!" He let out a groan as he stood on the railing, and dove down towards the water, making his way towards the person.
Hermione turned around, when she heard a loud splash behind her, having thought she heard someone shouting from the tower. She gasped when she saw a body, as she thought floating towards her, and quickly went to assist, "Hold on sir, I'll get you out."
Arthur wrapped his arms around a small waist, as he felt her doing the same, both of them stumbling as they tried to help the other. He stopped moving, at the same time she did, when both realized what they were doing, "You're not drowning?"
"You're not hurt?" She asked at the same time, now looking at the person. She glared, as she answered, "I am not drowning, don't you think my pop would had come in after me, if she thought I was in danger."
Just then, said dog came charging in the water, towards where her master, and the stranger were standing. She came between the two, pushing her master closer towards the shore, as she beared her fangs at the Stranger.
The witch just rolled her eyes, as she ruffled the dogs thick coat, "Sure act tuff, you big ol' teddy bear."
"Are you crazy, you could had frozen to death, come inside so you could warm by a fire," The Alantian King ordered, actually flinching a bit when the woman turned a glare his way, "I mean, in case you-"
"I wasn't the one jumping of the top of the lighthouse, you're the crazy one," She walked over to where some of her stuff was piled on the ground, and pulled out a sweater, and through it over her swim suite, with a pair of leggings to match her top, "How exactly did you do that, without breaking every bone in you're body?"
"Have you not heard of Aquaman?"
The witched seemed to think for a moment, than nodded as she gathered what she heard from the people in town, "He's some sort of super hero, working with the Justice League. Also is King of Atlantis, right? I heard some people talking about him." She took this time to look harder at the man before her.
He stood over six feet tall, had wide should with ink on his chest, and was just fit all around. His dirty blonde hair came just below his shoulders, and eyes the color of the ocean. While she was studying him, hed decided to do the same.
She stood at five'five, had a light complexion with long wavy hair, and eyes the color of caramel. She was a different kind of breath taking, the kind where she probably didn't even realize it herself.
"Yes, well that would be me, and you're trespassing on my property," He smirked, as her cheeks turned a nice shade of pink, "and you, how can you swim in ice cold water? I know you are not from Alantis."
"You are correct, I am not Alantian and I am sorry for tresspassing, I having seen anyone in the last five months since I got here," She started to put her boots on, whil Fang pulled on her scarf, which was hanging around her neck.
"Well now I am back now," He approached yher, and gently tried to get the dog from pulling on the scarf, and fell onto his back as the woman fell on top of him. He gently held her by the arms, and grinned, "Wow, usually the girls by me a drink, before throwing themselves at me."
"Great, you're one of those blokes," She unravled the scarf, and just threw it at the large man, as she got up and ran away.
He looked down at the dog, who seemed to be waiting on some, before realizing what she was waiting for. He knelt down, and wrapped the material around the puppy's neck, "Better get this back to your master, we wouldbn't want her to get cold would we?" He thought about how she swam in the water, without anyone being around, and how she didn't even seem bothered with the cold. He laughed as the dog hurried away, in the direction her owner had gone.
He had to find out, who that girl was.
To be continued.
