Sango woke up before dawn. To her surprised, she didn't had any dreams of her past life. However, Sango knew that might not last long. As much as Sango didn't mind those dreams, but it was a constant reminder how everything turned out in the end. Sango couldn't handle her excitement to go to Higurashi Shrine and see Kagome. She quickly got dressed in a black dress with a pink hoodie. In her hair was a matching pink headband with blue flowers. She packed some snacks and money, in case if she wanted to buy some more souvenirs. Her aunts were already up and the servants, who are the Foot ninjas prepared her breakfast. It was a simple pancakes and eggs, which Sango didn't mind. When she was done, the Foot ninjas led her to her aunts, who were discussing with another Foot member. Karai's face lit up as she scurried over to her.
"I'm so sorry we didn't join you for breakfast, Sango," Karai apologized. "I had a lot of things going on."
Sango smiled. "That's fine, Auntie Karai. Are you and Auntie Shini going to Higurashi Shrine with me?"
Karai let out a sigh. "I'm sorry, but we can't. My ninjas need us and we have a meeting to attend to."
"How about tomorrow?"
"I already have everything planned on your last day in Japan and I don't think I can fit visiting Higurashi Shrine. Do you think you can handle going by yourself?"
"YES!"
Karai and Shinigami looked at her with wide eyes and Sango froze. She shifted her feet ad chuckled, rubbing her neck. She couldn't believed she actually did that. Sango made a mental note not to let her uncle Mikey not to influence her too much. The only thing Sango could do was to stare at her aunt. She didn't expected to go to Higurashi Shrine by herself today. In fact, Sango was expecting to get some of her answers and not all of them, but now her aunts had a change of plans, this was her chance, not only to go by herself, but make sure she got all of the answers she needed.
"I-I mean, I don't mind." Sango said.
Karai chuckled. "Good." Then she held out her hand and one of the Foot ninjas handed her a black bracelet. Karai quickly thanked them as she put the bracelet into Sango's. "This is a tracker. I know Donnie already gave you one, but who cares. Mine is better."
The only thing Sango could do was to giggle at that last part. She knew her aunt had some cool technology, but Sango was a bit bias since she thought her Uncle Donnie had better tech than her.
"Don't talk to strangers," Shinigami spoke up. "We should be done at noon, so your aunt and I pick you up at Higurashi Shrine, and after that we can go out for lunch. Are you sure you don't want any of our ninjas to go with you?"
Sango nodded. "Don't worry! I'll be fine!"
Then Sango realized the way she said that was like as if it was easy. She had to remind herself that in this era, a child going off on their own was a bad idea...well in America that is. Japan, on the other hand, she wasn't sure if everything was still the same since the Feudal Era. As a child at the time period, Sango would always go off on her own and come back without any trouble.
Karai pursed her lips. "Okay, but at least let us have someone give you a ride there."
Sango knew she couldn't blame her aunts for worry about her, considering the fact that she is her father's only child and how her father didn't let go of the fact that all her uncles and aunts lost her for three hours when she was only a year old.
It didn't took long for the Foot ninjas got a car ready. Sango gave her aunts a hug and went into the car. It didn't took long for Sango to get to Higurashi Shrine. There were large stairs leading up to the shrine. She could even see the torii in distance. The only thing Sango could do was to stare up. She felt familiarity around her as she remembered how around there used to be Kaede's village. With a deep breath, Sango walked up the stairs.
It was a long way up, but Sango didn't mind. When she got up to the first torii, the first thing she saw was the shrine. The shrine looked like any Japanese shrine, but it was big. Sango didn't know much about Kagome's ancestry aside from being descendants from monks, but whoever built the shrine, must've been very wealthy. Behind the shrine, Sango could see a modern-looking house. She knew right away that it's Kagome's house. Sango walked up to the shrine and prayed. She prayed how she was thankful for being raised by Leo and his brothers and how she was getting another chance at life. She even prayed that she hoped to make Leo proud of her when she finally takes over the Hamato Clan one day. Sango knew that it probably wouldn't happen because Leo and her uncles are mutants, so they live longer than her, but she wanted her father to be proud of her enough to tell her that she's capable to become leader.
Then in the corner of Sango's eyes, she noticed a trail near the shrine. The trail wasn't noticeable unless if people looked carefully. For some reason, her mind was telling her to follow it. Licking her dry lips, Sango followed the trail. The trail wasn't clean and it was covered with fresh leaves that recently fell. As she walked further, Sango noticed she was going into a forest. Pursing her lips, Sango glanced from side to side. Even though demons weren't still around anymore, she knew there has to be some around. As she kept walking, she heard something behind her. Sango turned, but saw nothing. Quickly, she picked up the nearest rock, holding it tightly as her knuckles turned white. While she kept walking, Sango made sure she didn't let her guard down.
Finally, Sango stopped. The trail ended, having trees circling around a memorial stone. There were some moss around it and on the ground were lily flowers. The stone had words on it, but Sango couldn't read it from the distance. Sango slowly walked up to it. When she got closer, her eyes widened. On the stone, had her name. Eyes widened, Sango dropped the rock and she took a few steps back, breathing heavily. A chill flew up her spine. Her name?! The stone had her name! That meant...this was where she was buried. This was her grave!
Sango tried to process the thought through her head, but she couldn't. The only thing she could do was to remembered everything from her past life, her death, and how she was taken in by her name family. Then Sango's vision blurred as she collapsed onto the ground. The last thing she saw was silver locks and familiar golden eyes looming over her as everything turned black.
