Y/n's POV

What the heck is happening? My brain tries to think rationally but my body has other plans it seems. I'm rushing down the stairs after Aizawa, knowing that I should have listened and stayed put but at the same time worrying about if he'd be able to handle himself when his fighting style is mainly one-on-one. He is severely outnumbered, well I guess we're severely outnumbered.

As soon as I join the fray I'm getting attacked from all sides. I vaguely hear an explosion go off at the entrance and watch through my peripheral as the same black mist that let all these villains in engulfs the entrance. So much for rescue training...guess we all get to face real villains instead. I laugh a little at the prospect and especially at the low-life thugs that happened to be picked to fight against us. Clearly they weren't thinking that a first-year hero course would be able to fight and hold their own easily against some thugs that didn't know basic hand-to-hand.

I got a few weird looks as I laughed but I quickly shut up when Aizawa glared at me. Even if I couldn't see his eyes I could still feel them on me. Most of the quirks that these people had weren't very useful when fighting against me. Any long distance quirk is stopped in the air before it reaches me because of my quirk. I would usually throw it back at them just to stall for time while fighting those with close range quirks. "Who taught you guys how to fight? Even my kitten has better instincts than you." I remark as another thug collapses next to me. I haven't even used my chains yet and they haven't landed a single blow to me. I could tell that some were getting more frustrated than others and were trying harder than before to get rid of me.

Aizawa's tactics were amazing to watch as he too went untouched by the villains. He has a clear direction to his movements as well so I glance over to where he seems to be headed. A pale blue-haired figure stands off to the side next to a weird bird-like creature. They're just spectating the action. Guess that's the conductor for this whole invasion plan. Dad must view that guy as the final boss. For some reason he seems strangely familiar.

A blow to my right side knocks me off balance and out of my thoughts. I swear under my breath as I dodge the rest of the blows aimed at me. "Ok... enough playing around." I start using my chains, wrapping them around a few people before launching those people into the larger group around me. As much as I want to use my quirk and just pin everyone to the ground around me I knew I'd become a liability to Aizawa so I held in my anger. I take a deep breath before using the chains to efficiently hit and knock out all the fallen villains around me.

I take a moment to stretch a little bit, knowing that I'll definitely be sore after this, especially with the bruise I can feel forming over my ribs. When I look back over to Aizawa my eyes widen. He's charging the blue-haired guy who was standing off to the side. I watch as his quirk stops right as the man grabs his elbow. Silence engulfs me as I see his skin start to flake away in that small instance of touch. My head throbs and it feels like I'm sinking in water as the pressure gets heavier. Random snippets of a man in all black with a small blue-haired child flashes through my mind. The scary smirk that would come before a searing pain from his touch. He couldn't have been more than a few years older than me and yet he smiled through my screams. That's right, for that one day I was handed over to some strange man and his child to use as a practice dummy for how to torture but not kill. Since I was just a child it also taught him not to have an remorse for the weak. A breath I didn't realize I was holding in suddenly rushes out. I look down at my hands as they shake and my breathing comes out in short gasps.

No...get yourself together...now's not the time to fall apart... My surroundings feel hazy and when my gaze lands on Aizawa again he's... The bird-creature thing has him in his grasp. "Nooo!" I scream out. Even if everything in my right mind is telling me I can't face this thing if Dad couldn't even do anything to it, I still rush at it with all my strength. It breaks Aizawa's arms and smashes his face into the ground then, before I can blink, it's gone. For a moment I'm completely disoriented until I see the blue-haired guy about to touch Tsuyu and Midoriya's punch being completely ineffective on the bird-creature.

A loud bang and All Might is here and everyone is moved out of harm's way. I briefly overhear that they were here to kill All Might as I move over to Aizawa and check his vitals. Luckily he's still alive but if this doesn't end soon he really won't be. I gently and quickly move Aizawa up the stairs with my quirk and leave him at the top telling Tsuyu, Midoriya, and Shinso, who I just realized was with them, to go up as well to make sure he's alright. I knew that it was probably pointless since there was no way that Midoriya would leave All Might when he knew about the time limit and Shinso wouldn't leave me, especially since I probably look like shit.

And so here we are, watching as the thing I now know is a Nomu, beat All Might. Soon enough Todoroki, Bakugo, and Kirishima join the fray. Todoroki helps get All Might free, Bakugo traps the warper, and Kirishima gets knocked out of the way by my quirk before the hand guy can touch him. We all get moved back again by All Might but this time he manages to actually beat the Nomu. Steam radiates off of him as he stands there and I know he's out of time. Midoriya and I share a look before rushing the hand guy. As the hand reaches out to touch Midoriya I swat it away but the black mist blocks the punch, engulfs Midoriya, and spits him out on the other side. Since I wasn't as quick as Midoriya, cause I didn't use my quirk to jump, I ended up between the two villains.

The heroes arrive a moment later and while I'm distracted a hand gets placed around my neck. "Well well well... look who we have here. You really haven't changed have you." No one moved, knowing it would mean my death. "This seems like a good compromise for now...until next time heroes." The world went dark and the next thing I knew I was in some dimly bar.

Aizawa's POV

The steady beeping of the heart monitor is the first thing I hear. Everything that happened before I passed out flashes through my head. The moment I realized that Y/n had followed me into the fight, the split second that my elbow started to disintegrate, my hand breaking against the strange creature, a scream from Y/n as the creature broke me before smashing me into the ground. Now I'm clearly in a hospital, not willing to open my eyes, feeling the bandages holding my arms in place over my chest and wrapping around my skull. I'm not entirely sure how to notify someone that I'm awake. I move my legs cautiously, unsure if they were fine, and I come to the conclusion that they are. Against my judgement I slowly open my eyes. Surprisingly I'm actually able to see through the small slits in the bandages.

My gaze travels around the room and I have an off feeling in my gut. I hope all the students are alright. A nurse comes in to check on me and when he notices I'm awake he excuses himself before coming back with a doctor, police officer and Nezu. They are all are hard to read and don't say anything for a moment. I clear my throat and rasp out, "Who's hurt?" The only explanation for their silence must be that something bad happened to someone other than me. "13 was injured but is in stable condition and Midoriya broke both legs and a few fingers but is healed up now, thanks to Recovery Girl." Nezu says.

"You're in the worst shape, having broken multiple bones in both arms and suffering from several fractures in your face. You've already undergone surgery to put the pieces in the correct places and unfortunately it will still have a negative effect on your quirk usage." the doctor says matter-of-factly.

I look over each of them, "What aren't you telling me?" They give each other a look before the police officer introduces himself. "I'm Naomasa Tsukauchi, a detective with the police force that's investigating the attack at the USJ. I'm not normally involved in such big scale cases but this one is currently involving a small organization of villains that I've been watching up until now. I'll get to the point since we've been dancing around things afraid of what your reaction will be...Y/n Aizawa was taken captive by the man we know as Shigaraki. Shigaraki and the warper known as Kuroguri fled the scene right as the heroes showed up, taking Y/n with them."

They are all quiet waiting for some kind of response from me. At the moment I am unable to comprehend what this means. Right now I just need someone or something to ground me so I know that this is real. "Is Present Mic here by any chance? I'd like to speak with him." I say calmly, not showing any emotion. Nezu nods and understands, guiding everyone out of the room. A few minutes later Hizashi comes in looking a little worse for wear.

He sits on the side of the bed and puts a hand on my thigh, rubbing it soothingly. "Hey Sho...I'm glad you're ok...you know, I-I thought you weren't going to make it. They had to rush you to the hospital since you were in-in critical condition." His voice sounded watery and soft, which was unusual for the normally loud extrovert. "We're going to find him," so he really is gone then, "no matter what, not just because he's our student but-but because he's our son. You and I both know that rescuing him would only be the beginning so we need to stay strong. We can't break or he'll break and then who knows what'll happen...That being said...crying isn't considered breaking."

A few tears roll down his cheeks and a small pained smile tugs at his lips. My eyes sting and burn and I close them willing the pain away. Fingers run gently through the hair that isn't covered by my bandages and a small giggle is heard before a mumbled, "They really made you a living mummy didn't they?"
