Chapter 13

"I see I'm not the only one who doesn't like these things," The stranger smiled, as he took the seat, which Jasper, just vacated.

"It's not that I don't like these things, having been to more than a dozen before, it's just after a while my anxiety kicks in," Explained the young witch. "I'm Hermione Curry."

"I am aware, I was talking to Arthur, before coming up here. I am Clark Kent."

Hermione smiled as she stood to her feet, and walked over to the window, to stare up at the stars, "I think it's fascinating that you've actually lived up in Space."

Clark laughed, as he came up beside the young woman, "I, unfortunately, don't remember much."

"I wouldn't imagine you would,' The witch laughed as she looked down at the gardens, where there was a little carnival, for the children from the orphanage to play at while the ball went on, "I think it's very impressive, that Bruce, invited the children, and staff, from the orphanage. That way people could see what their donations are going towards." The witch watched as a Narcissa walked hand in hand with one of the children, "I see my friend found the children," she pointed to where the blonde was, "That's Narcissa."

"Yes, I believe I saw her dancing with Arthur, also met your other friend, Molly," Clark looked at the young woman, studying her. Then smiled, "I am glad Arthur found you, every good man deserves an amazing woman."

"Like you and Lois?" Questioned the witch, with a little wink.

"Yes, I got very lucky as well," Agreed the man of steel.

"I don't need to worry about my wife being alone with the Man-of-steel do I?" Arthur teased, as he entered the library, to find his wife and friend, "So Narcissa is currently talking to the head of the orphanage, about adopting one of the children. She said there was something special about the little girl that reminded her of her children, and you."

"Like us?" Hermione's eyes widened, as realization kicked it, "How did she meet this little girl?"

"Apparently the little girl was being picked on by another child, and maybe broke a couple of jars. while crying," Arthur answered, looking at the worried man beside him, he smiled as he patted the other man's shoulder, "The little girl is alright, and I believe Narciss, she has a real chance of getting the little girl with no problem."

"I am glad that one of the children possibly found a good home," Clark complimented, as he looked at the clock, near the door to the library, "I believe I should go see what Bruce, and Lois, are doing, and then return us home to our boys." He smiled as he left the couple alone.

Arthur took his wife's hand, as they made their way to the last place, in which they saw Narcissa. "I assumed you would want to go check on Narcissa and meet the little girl. Molly is already with them, and probably already counting the little girl as family."

"Probably," Hermione giggled, as she leaned into her husband's side, "So when is the soonest, in which Narcissa will be able to get her?" She smiled at the two older witches, and the little girl as they got closer, watching as the three played at a dart game. Still not aware of the couple's presence.

"I believe Molly mentioned something to me, about bringing the Minister of Magic, and they are going to use a spell to make the process go faster. Apparently, they are a lot more cautious about magical children, being raised among muggle children, so now there is a new clause to make sure the child finds a good magical family." The Atlantian answered, as he watched the children playing around them, and not being able to hide the smile, "At leafy that is what Narcissa explained."

"They put the clause in so the same thing that happened to Thomas, won't happen to any future children," The mother smiled, as she studied the little girl.

The little girl had chestnut hair with a blonde tint, copper skin, and two different colored eyes. The right eye was emerald green, and the left was a light green. She couldn't have been more than seven. The little girl turned her full attention to the two, and smiled when she saw the large man, "You're big."

"I am," Arthur agreed, smiling at the little girl, "I am Arthur, and this beautiful woman in my arms, is Hermione."

Hermione smiled at the little girl, "What might your name be?"

"I am Lucinda," Answered the little girl.

Narcissa smiled, as she stared down at the little girl, and then at the couple, "I will be staying in Gotham for a week, Kingsley, and the Minister of Magic of America, will meet me here at the mansion. Molly made a floo call in Jasper's wing, such a lovely man."

"He is very nice," Agreed the younger witch, as she looked at a now blushing Molly, raising her brow, "Are you alright, Molly."

"I believe Jasper, may have shown a slight interest, in our Molly. Apparently, he had been a Hufflepuff, while she was a Gryffindor, at our school." Narcissa smiled at her redheaded friend.

"What hotel are you staying in?" Asked the young witch, worrying about her friend, in the city with a high crime rate.

"Any friend of Arthur, and his wife, are more than welcome to stay in my manor," Came the voice of the host of the party, as he joined the group, "I have also arranged for Lucinda to stay with you until your ministers of magics do their things."

The three witches ' eyes, turned to the man surprised. Hermione cast a non-verbal silencing spell, as she looked at the man, "Excuse me, Mr. Wayne, how exactly do you know about the Minister of Magic?"

"Jasper, he registered me as his family, after the death of my parents. So I was granted permission, to learn about the magical world," Bruce answered smiling down at the little girl, "How would you like to stay here for a couple of days?"

"I want to go home with the nice lady," answered the little girl, as she reached for Narcissa's hand.

Narcissa smiled as she knelt in front of the little girl, pulling her into a warm hug, "Don't worry dear, I will be staying here as well, then you will be coming home with me after we're finished here, how does that sound?"

"Really?" The little girl asked, wrapping her arms around the little girl.

"If you learn anything from me as your mum, you'll realize that I do not lie to my children," Assure the blonde, as she stood to her feet, still holding onto the little girl's hand. She looked towards the redhead, who was now chatting with Jasper, who had joined the group, "Molly, would you be staying, or returning with Hermione, and Arthur?"

"Actually Molly, you should stay with Narcissa, because Arthur, and I, have a lot of work to do before tomorrow," Explained the witch, as she hugged the redhead, and then did the same to the blonde. She turned to look at Jasper, "Considering you know who I am, and what I am, can I please use your fireplace?"

"My wife did not enjoy the helicopter ride at all," The Atlantean explained, wrapping his arms around her small frame, as she did the same around his waist.

"Of course," Jasper answered, as he escorted the group to their guest rooms and his floo connections.

The Fundraiser had been a success.
