Chapter 14

Milli smiled as she sat beside the young woman, as they sorted through the new books, "Any day now."

"I know," The young woman explained, rubbing her stomach as she felt a small kick, "I can't wait till she's here. This morning I actually put on two different shoes, and would have left the house like that, if Arthur hadn't said anything. He pretended to have bought me a new pair of shoes, and wanted me to wear them."

"Pretended to buy you a new pair?" The older woman asked, with a little curiosity.

Hermione laughed as she leaned in towards her friend, "A couple months ago, I was cleaning the basement, and came across a chest full of boxes with new shoes hidden among Arthurs workbench." She smiled as she thought of the little surprise, and knew what probably got him to splurge a little, "He saw me crying one day because I put on two different shoes, and I could tell he felt helpless."

"Does he know you know?" Milli asked, now turning her full attention to the young woman.

"No he doesn't, and I am not about to tell him either, I love the shoes he gets me," The witch explained, showing off her newest pair of pink, and purple Nike's.

"Those are so cute," The older woman laughed, as she stood to put her books on the shelves, "I will put all the books away, and you stay put."

"I promised Arthur, I would stay off my feet," The young woman admitted.

"Good, we wouldn't want you to have your baby in the library," Agreed Milli, walking off in the distance.

Arthur smiled as his wife entered the house, "So I made us a cobb salad, picked up the meat from Henry's." He walked over and filled Fang's bowl, with her own food. "So how was yours, and Fang's day?"

"It went wonderfully, and we got a lot done before I went into labor, so if you don't mind postponing dinner I think we should get to the hospital," Answered the witch calmly, as she walked to her room, and grabbed her overnight bag. She stared at her husband waiting for him to say, or do something, "Unless you want a home birth, but I-" before she finished her sentence, he had her in his arms and was hurrying her towards their car.

He jumped into the driver's side, and hurried towards their destination, "Why didn't you say anything, babe?"

"Because I know that we wouldn't be able to do anything until my water actually broke, and so far it has not," Assured the witch, holding on to her side, as she felt a kick, "This is not very comfortable."

"How can you be more calm than me?" Arthur pulled in front of the hotel, witch connected to the magical world, and quickly helped his wife out of the car, "Here we go babe, we're about to be parents."

Seven Hours Later

Arthur smiled as he looked down at his new daughter, as she rested against his bare chest, sound asleep like her own mother at the moment, "We still need to think of a name for you."

"Hello Mr. Curry, I just came in here to check on mom, and baby but I see you guys are doing fine," She pulled up a rolling chair, as she sat at the computer, and took notes, "Your wife is a strong woman, having had been in labor all day, before coming to the hospital."

"She is indeed a strong woman, one of the many reasons I love her," Agreed the new father, as he looked over towards where his sleeping wife was, and then back at his new daughter, "You are just as strong as your mother."

"So have you thought of a name?" Healer Anderson smiled, as she moved over to where the baby, and new father were seated, as she pressed her stethoscope to the babies back, "Her heart is very strong, and your wife didn't have trouble feeding her, their really is no reason why you guys couldn't be discharged tomorrow morning."

"Arthur, where are you?" Came the drowsy voice of the new mom, as she slowly sat up a little, finding her family and the healer talking. "Is she alright?"

The Healer smiled at the younger witch, as she started to exam her, using her wand. "Your mother, and baby, are going home tomorrow. Have you thought of a name for your little girl?"

"Arwen Rosalyn Curry," Answered the young mother, smiling as her husband brought her, her daughter, "Those are the names we liked, right?"

"Awe, J.R.R. Tolkien, 'Lord of the Ring's." The Healer smiled knowingly at the new parents, "I loved reading his books."

"My mum, and dad, use to read the books too me, and I fell in love with the name Arwen," Hermione explained, as she stared down at her nursing baby, as she ran her fingertips through the dark curls, "Can't believe she has so much hair, for just being born."

"You, and Your husband have thick hair, so it shouldn't be that surprising. When I had my son, he had thick hair too when he was born," Assured Healer Anderson, as she walked to the door, "I will leave you three alone, until morning." She waved, before leaving the room.

Arthur sat beside his wife, as he stroked her cheek, before kissing her lips, "I can't believe she's finally here."

"She is definitely worth the wait," The young witch smiled, as she laid the sleeping baby, down in the bassinet next to the bed, "I am hungry?"

"I will go to the cafeteria, and bring you something to eat," Started the Atlantean smiled as he kissed his wife's forehead, before leaving the room.

Hermione smiled as she watched her husband leave the room, then turned her attention towards her new daughter, "You are a lucky little girl, Arwen. Your daddy is the best."

Life was wonderful.

A Month Later

Arthur smiled as he laid beside his daughter, on the shores of near the lighthouse, "'You're definitely daddy's girl, loving the sound, and feel of the ocean around you, while you sleep."

Arwen loved the feel of the ocean breeze, and water against her baby skin, and fell asleep easily when her father brought her out here, The cool weather didn't seem to affect her, much like himself. Her hair was showing signs of curls, much like his, and his wife's, and her eyes were the color of the ocean. Her skin, on the other hand, was much like her mother's, a soft milky color. She was the most beautiful baby in the world, at least according to him she was.

"Did she wake you up?" Came the sleepy voice of his wife, as she approached them, with Fang at her heel. She sat beside them, as her husband opened an arm to wrap around her, as he held his daughter with his other arm, "The waves seem to calm her."

"I have noticed that too," The witch smiled, as she rested her head, on her husband's shoulder. "When I walk her through town, she always falls asleep. I sometimes have a slice of pie, and tea, during her nap time."

"I am sure Joyce is happy, having the baby to fuss over," Arthur smiled, when their daughter let out a small content laugh, "She laughed."

"Of course she did, grandma Joyce, told her about our first date," Teased the new mother. Hermione smiled, thinking about how the older woman, had declared herself as their daughter's grandma.

"I must have done something right, babe, we're married with a beautiful daughter," Reminded the large man, as he rocked the baby with his arm. "We're happy, aren't we?"

"The happiest," Agreed the witch, as she got to her feet, and lifted her daughter into her arms, "I think we should go back to bed." She smiled as her husband grabbed the blanket, before following them back into the house.

Life couldn't get any better.
