Prelude

"What's important is that we're together here... forever and ever" Nick said his dark eyes sparkling.

"That's a plus" Sabrina said her heart burning. He shouldn't be here, it was wrong yet so right. The kiss felt more right than everything else in this crazy universe, and Sabrina felt happy.

"How wonderful".

Both of them jumped slightly at the voice. They're heads snapped to see a woman kneeling by one of the ghostly paintings of the Sweet Hereafter.

"Who's there?" Nick asked defensively.

The woman came towards them, her feet stomping lightly on the white floor to the bench where they sat.

She was tall, dressed in a black leather garment, her hair was long and brown with streaks of violet and blue. Her eyes were small and bright green. She was grinning at them with a bowlike, red smile.

"I'm a friend" she said, her voice booming and she sounded French to Sabrina.

"What's your name?" Sabrina asked suspiciously.

"You may call me Belladonna," she answered, still grinning.

"I wasn't sure anyone else was here" Sabrina said.

"Oh, i wouldn't know, darling, I'm not here to stay".

"But... you can't leave, your dead aren't you?"

Belladonna's laugh was high and shrill.

"Oh, darling, you of all people should know better. Here, feel me".

She grabbed Sabrina's hand before she or Nick could react and put it to her chest. Sabrina felt the light heartbeat beneath.

"You're not dead?"

"Of course," Belladonna said quickly. "Neither are you. Not entirely anyway. We have a long way to go my dear Sabrina, but trust, it will be glorious." She smiled widely. "And very fun, along the way."

Oregon

Connie's eyes snapped open at the sudden pounding outside the house echoed to her room.

"Dad?" sge asked fearfully.

The door burst open and she recognized her father's dark eyes burning like embers in the shadows.

"Connie, quickly now".

He was pulling her from her bed.

"Dad?"

"Connie, we have to go. Take your things."

He turned her towards her shelf where a large suitcase was packed as the banging grew louder and louder. He forced it into her shaking hands as she looked at him in confusion.

"Dad, what's going on? Where are we going?"

"I'll explain later, sweetheart. Come on now."

He led her quickly out of her room. The banging was louder in the hallway and Connie could suddenly hear a high voice.

"SPELLMAN! SPELLMAN!"

"Who is that?" Connie said as she moved towards the stairs to look down at the front door, but her father was pulling her away. She fought forward and a red light emitting from the door's glass as it shook violently. It was growing brighter, dying the inside of the house blood red.

"Dad?"

"Not now, sweetheart" her father insisted as he led her away towards the attic entrance. They climbed up the steps and burst into the attic her father, immediately opening the window.

"You're going to have to jump now, Connie".

"What?" she asked horrified. "Dad, what's going on?"

"Connie, do you remember when I told you about my sisters?"

She nodded.

"You're going to go to them now. They'll take care of you until I can come back for you".

She blinked in shock.

"Dad? Where are you going?"

"My past has caught up with me, my dear. Don't worry. My sisters will look after you. Listen now, I need you to jump. There will be a car in the highway waiting for you. Don't say anything, just get in as fast as you can. Don't ask any questions, just wait until you get to Greendale. I'll come back honey, I swear".

He kissed her forehead tearfully, and then a great bang cane from downstairs as the front door was burst open. Heavy, daunting bangs echoed across the house as if something was coming up the stairs.

"SPELLMAN... SPELLMAN..."

"Dad, what is that?" she asked, crying.

He looked at her sadly.

"I love you, Connie," he said as he took her in her arms. "I don't know what they'll say about me... But... I love you. I'm so sorry..."

He ran to the window and shouted down.

"Get her to safety. Quickly".

"Dad?" she croaked out. "Who are you... "The banging was coming closer and closer to their doors. Her father, wide eyed, ran to her and gripped her tightly on the shoulders.

"SPELLMAN..."

"Don't be afraid. He will protect you even when my sisters can't. He is your familiar. Goodbye, sweetheart" he said as he suddenly heaved her upwards, raising her from the ground.

"What are you..."

He threw her out of the window.

She wasn't sure what happened afterwards. She felt some force grab her mid-air and she felt herself carried off at an impossible speed. She blinked up to register what was holding her in the dark, but all she got was a glimpse of two yellow eyes on a dark mass before she felt herself slide off into unconsciousness.

Sweet Hereafter

"Who is that girl?" Sabrina asked in confusion as she looked through the mirror Belladonna had conjured, watching the whole scene.

Belladonna smiled.

"You'll find out later, darling. We have to be patient, but don't worry, you will come back to life as I promised.

"Sabrina" Nick said said heavily, "we can't trust her".

Belladonna frowned.

"You should consider yourself lucky, Nicholas. I came here for Sabrina, not you."

"Nick's right" Sabrina said suspiciously. "Why are you doing this? Why would you want to help us?"

Belladonna laughed.

"I have my reasons. But fear not, you shall live again, both of you. Once Connie reaches Greendale and the Spellman's the fun will begin."

"What does that girl have to do with anything?" Sabrina asked confused. She couldn't understand what was happening. She had accepted her death, had accepted it all, and now...

"Her name is Constance Spellman. She is your cousin, Sabrina".

"What?" Sabrina said in shock. "That's impossible".

Belladonna's smile widened broadly.

"You of all people ought to know, Sabrina, that impossible is just a word. Constance has a role to play in what's to come. But first, there is something you must do something for me."

She waved her hand and the void of the Sweet Hereafter melted into blackness and Sabrina looked around for Nick, calling his name, but he was gone.

"Where is he?" she said angrily at Belladonna who continued laughing.

"He will need to be patient, for now, I only need you. You and Constance, together, with your aunts in Greendale. Aren't family gatherings nice?"
