Hello Readers, here is the next chapter of the continuing story of Finding Peace. I wanted to address what someone in the comments said. They stated they were very happy with how Lincoln has anger problems now that he listens to metal. I wanted to let you all know that Lincoln having anger issues is not what I am trying to do. I don't believe just listening to metal music will make you an aggressive person. I am looking at it more as he is becoming a bit more tough and not taking the garbage that others had given him. And him grabbing Rusty and yelling at Ronnie Anne were moments where he just snapped. That same commenter also mentioned Prog metal, I'll try and fit some dream theater or Opeth in the future chapters. Anyways, enjoy this chapter.
"You look pretty happy today Chrissy, you're actually smiling naturally." Luan stated as the two sat down for their regular lunch period.
"Well Luan, I finally got something that I've wanted for a while. Wanna see?"
"Ooooh, sure." She said, interested in what he was talking about.
But instead of him reaching for his backpack like she expected, Chris instead pulled back the left sleeve of his shirt and Luan was shocked at what she saw.
A tattoo was now covering most of his inner forearm. The tattoo was a triangle that was inside a large triangle that covered the inner forearm. The triangle was made of what looked to be a knot and was surrounded by lots of other knot-like shapes.
"Wow Chris, you got a tattoo. That's crazy"
"Yeah, I've wanted one for years. But both of my parents were always strict about them. I finally convinced them over the weekend by literally making a powerpoint about how I can pay for it. I can handle the pain, and how the symbol I wanted was good."
"What does the cymbal mean?"
"It's what's called a celtic knot, and the 3 sides represent Earth, air, and water. It could also be looked at as Life, death, and rebirth or the father, the son, and the holy Spirit."
"It's cool that it can represent different things."
"Yeah, it was pretty painful to get. But I'm happy I finally got it. Emily kept wanting to poke at it."
Luan chuckled at the last comment, "Yeah, I bet that must have hurt"
Chris was taken out of the conversation when his head was suddenly pushed forward into his food. He heard familiar laughter and after processing what happened, he turned around to see Keith and two of his buddies laughing it up.
"Hey Olsen. I saw you got that tattoo, you have to permanently scar your skin to feel good about yourself. You're even more of a loser than I thought."
Chris just glared at Keith, mashed potatoes dripping from his face and hair.
"Anyways, enjoy your lunch with metal mouth." he said before walking away
Chris gave Keith the finger as he walked away. He then turned to Luan, seeing she had an annoyed expression considering what Keith called her.
"Here let me help you." She grabbed a napkin and reached over the table and started cleaning the food off of him.
"Thanks" he said as she got some mashed potatoes out of his hair
Luan finished cleaning up Chris and sighed, "Keith is such a jerk."
"Yeah I know, he just doesn't leave me alone."
"We should get back at home"
Chris started a Luan surprised, "What"
"Lets prank him" she said with an evil grin
"Are you serious?" Chris said shocked
"Yeah, he deserves it."
Chris then gave a similar evil grin, "What did you have in mind"
Scene Change:
It was at the end of the school day, and Chris had just left the boys locker room. Luan was waiting for him outside.
"Did you do it?" she said grinning
Chris nodded, "Spread it all over his gear."
"Well why don't we see the results"
The two walked out of the highschool and headed towards the football field. They sat down on the bleachers. Other girls were sitting there as well, wanting to watch the football team practice. Some gushing to their friends about how muscular their boyfriend is. But the two pranksters just sat there, waiting for their plan to unfold. After about 10 min, the football team ran out and waved and the bleachers as the girls gushed but Luan and Chris just rolled their eyes. They both specifically kept an eye on Keith, watching as he showbouted onto the field in front of everyone.
Chris leaned over and whispered into Luans ear, "When should it kick in."
Luan checked her phone and responded quietly. "About two minutes is when it starts to take effect."
2 minutes passed and the two saw their plan finally unfold. The football team was currently doing planks. Keith stopped his plank to scratch himself, 10 seconds later he did it again. A minute passed and Keith was now on the ground itching constantly. Other football players took notice of this and asked if he was okay. Keith could only grunt out in frustration. Soon, Keith was screaming out that it was itching so much and was a rolling mess on the ground. People in the stand were gasping but Luan and Chris were trying to hold back their laughter. Chris motioned for them to leave and Luan and Chris left the bleachers. They ran a good distance from the field before bursting out laughing.
"That was amazing." Chris said between laughs
"I know, his face was priceless" Luan said between chuckles
Chris then started imitating Keith, scratching himself and saying "it itches so badly."
Luan chuckled at his imitation.
"That's my special itching powder, made by my sister Lisa to be a slow process, but hit like a truck when it takes effect."
"Luan, I can't thank you enough for doing this. How can I repay you?"
"Oh Chris, you don't have to repay me."
"I insist on using Luan."
"Oh okay, but I don't know how you can pay me back."
The two paused too think before Chris snapped his fingers, "I got it"
Scene Change:
"How does this look"
"Make your head a little more straight so it's not tilted."
The two were currently in the art room, Chris offered to draw Luan and Luan was ecstatic at the offer. She always wanted a self portrait of herself. Luan was sitting on a wooden stool as Chris was examining her behind his canvas, trying to get a good pose. After some movement, Luan was sitting straight with her hands in her lap smiling.
"Alright, I think I've got it"
But right before Chris was about to start, he got an idea.
He peaked out from behind the canvas to look at her, "Why don't you have your hair down"
"What" Luan stuttered out. Ever since she could remember she had her brown hair in a ponytail. Even when she went to bed she kept it in one. It's not because she hated her hair, it was just what she always chose.
"Yeah, that way I can get a full drawing of your hair. I can't draw your ponytail since its behind you."
"O-okay" Luan said a bit scared
Luan cautiously reached on top of her head and smoothly removed her ponytail. Her brown hair fell down to her shoulders. Chris stared open mouthed at her, she looked absolutely beautiful with her hair that way. "Why doesn't she always wear her hair down?" Chris thought to himself
"Do I look bad" Luan said scared
"No no no, you look beautiful."
Luan blushed at the comment and Chris's face also turned a shade of red when he realized he called her beautiful.
"So, shall we start?" Luan asked
Chris snapped out of his thoughts, "Sure"
Chris grabbed his pencil and immediately got to work, he made sure to be as detailed as possible. Luan just sat there smiling, not moving a muscle. After about 30 min, Chris yelled done and Luan finally stopped smiling. Her mouth was sore from smiling for so long. Chris turned around the canvas and what Luan saw made her Jaw drop. It was a beautiful drawing. The drawing had so much detail to it.
"Do you like it" Chris asked a bit scared
Suddenly Luan walked over to him and hugged him.
"I love it" she whispered
Chris was a bit shocked, this was the second time a girl hugged him. He smiled and returned the hug. The two eventually realized what they were doing and awkwardly broke the hug.
Chris carefully rolled up the paper and put an elastic around it. He gave it too Luan and the two walked out of the highschool.
"So that was a pretty eventful day." Chris said as the the two sat outside the school
"Yeah, it was pretty good." Luan said back
The two just stared at each other smiling, both wishing that the moment would never be broken. Sadly the moment was suddenly broken when a yell was heard.
"CHRISSSS"
The two turned to see Lincoln sprinting towards them before abruptly stopping.
"Lincoln, dude what's wrong"
"I need to tell you something" Lincoln said fast through heavy breaths
"Wow man calm down, whats up"
Lincoln took a few deep breaths before speaking.
"I found our first gig"
Scene Change:
It was currently dinnertime at the loud house. Lincoln was sitting with his family as they all ate. Luan had put her hair back in a ponytail. Lana was conversing with Lynn Sr about this cool new frog that was at the pond today. Lincoln was waiting for a moment to interject as he wanted to bring up the first gig. The opportunity finally came when the two ended the conversation.
"Hey dad"
"Yeah Lincoln" his dad asked as picked a piece of meat with his fork and ate it
"Well, I was wondering if I could have everyone's attention."
Everyone turned to look at Lincoln, this stressed Lincoln out a bit but he started.
"As you know, me and my friends have been playing together in a band."
"We know twerp, your so loud and you basically stole Max from me" Lori stated
Lincoln ignored her and continued, "Well, there's a open mic night for bands at the Misfits on Wednesday and me and the guys are gonna do a song there. I was hoping you guys could come."
The Misfits was a well known underground club in Royal woods. It was named after the punk band Misfits. It was a hangout spot where live shows were performed. He had been there before to see Luna perform.
Lynn Sr looked at his son shocked, "Wow Sport, sure definitely will all try and make it, right girls."
All of the girls at the table nodded their heads except Luna.
"Sorry little dude, I made plans with Mazzie to work on some songs with her at her house on Wednesday. But I still wish you good luck." she said giving him the horns
Lincoln has the horns back before smiling. His mother gave him a hug. Lincoln was so happy, he finally was going to make his parents proud and say those words to him. There's just one problem. They needed to figure out the song that they would play.
Scene Change:
It was late at night in the loud house. While most of the loud family was in bed, asleep or trying to. Luan was in the bathroom staring at herself in the mirror. She looked at herself before removing her ponytail and letting her hair fall down, she smiled to herself. She liked how Chris made her feel today. He called her beautiful which was something she was never told besides her mother or siblings.
Her phone suddenly lit up as she grabbed it and looked to see who it was. It was Chris
"Can you do me a solid?"
