Chapter 9: (10 Weeks)

sun snuck through the large apartment window and the birds outside in the park chirped, waking the people in the nearby houses up slightly. Mamoru woke up first, walking towards the bathroom the first second he got, knowing that Usagi was to wake up later. He came out ten minutes later, dressed in a casual hoodie and a pair of pants. He looked to the bed and noticed Usagi was up. Her eyes were tired, she was smiling slightly, and her arm stretched out towards him. "Hey" She whispers as he slides back into the bed. "you can stay in bed if you want" She breathes against his chest. "But I'm so hungry" She whines loudly. Mamoru smiles at her antics.

"I'll go make breakfast for you" he smiles as he stands up. She follows him, pulling the blanket along with her in a trail. She hugs him gently as he cooks, refusing to let go of him. He chuckles as they sit down on the couch, him sporting a cup of coffee and a piece of toast, Usagi holding miso soup and a hot chocolate. She sat next to him, watching the romantic comedy she was still to finish on the flatscreen TV.

"You know the girls will be here any minute to come and get me" she sighs as she walks towards the bathroom. "And then I'll become a human barbie doll for the rest of the day" she says dramatically. "But I'll do anything to marry you" she whispers shyly, knowing the weight of her words. She grins as she leaves through the door. A few minutes later she exits wearing something similar to his outfit but more colourful. A white hoodie and ripped denim shorts and white sneakers. She smiled when she saw him looking at her with a smirk before letting out a laugh. "You know it's only around ten minutes until the girls get here and drag me away" Usagi whispers, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Aren't you supposed to wait for the honeymoon?" He teases gently. Usagi had never seen this side to him before, so she grinned as she reached up towards his face as he leaned down towards her. She laughs at his words.

"I don't think I can wait that long?" she whispers before she slides her lips onto his, attaching themselves freely to one another. Suddenly the front door opens quietly, and several people walk inside, walking in on the soon to be married couple with a few giggles.

"Aren't you supposed to save that for the wedding?" Rei asks in an annoyed tone. The couple breaks apart in a flash, both their faces flushed in embarrassment. Everyone laughs quietly.

"We should be taking her now" Minako says gently, tugging onto the fabric of her hoodie. "And I think it's bad luck if you see the bride before the wedding" Minako states as the girls drag Usagi out towards the hallway. "So, get your bags packed for later alright!" Then suddenly, the boys walk in with all their bags and gear into his apartment, Mamoru smiles as he lets them in gently, greeting every single one of them and Usagi's father.

"Where's Usagi?" He asks Mamoru, noticing the dirty plates in the sink. Mamoru smiles before laughing and shaking his head.

"The girls kidnapped her" He laughs before turning to Minako and coughing towards her. She jumps before leaving quickly through the front door. The boys laugh at flustered Kunzite before getting settled inside the apartment.

*Usagi Tsukino*

Usagi was a nervous wreck. She didn't even know why she was such a wreck. Her left leg was anxiously bouncing against the carpet of the floor of Minako's luxury beach apartment, which was an hour away from Mamoru's apartment, five minutes to where the reception would be held and a second away from the beach.

Her head knew that nothing bad was going to happen today on the most momentous occasion of their lives. They were getting married today. The words brought tears to her eyes somehow, Minako blamed it on the hormones from the baby. Usagi thought it was because they wouldn't be 'Boyfriend' or 'Girlfriend' anymore, but husband and wife. They would also be parents in next year, which was exciting and also nerve racking.

Ikuko had walked in an hour after they got there with a big smile on her face, joining in the festivities before they would get ready. She bought Usagi's favourite foods with her for lunch, knowing she would be hungry for the rest of the day. Sushi, Onigiri, Yakitori and Sukiyaki. Usagi smiled at Ikuko but didn't eat anything on her plate. "Is it my cooking? Is something wrong with it?" Ikuko asks gently, touching Usagi's hand gently. Usagi shook her head gently.

"No…It's fine it's just" Usagi whispers, taking in a shaky breath. Her eyes start to tear before she shakes her head gently. "It's ok…I'm fine…" she breaths, wiping her face with her hands. Ikuko grabs them quickly before holding them to her side gently.

"You're scared" Ikuko says looking her daughter. "You're scared that you'll go up there, and he'll see you and he won't want you anymore." She whispers. "You're scared that he'll change his mind and that he would break it with you" Usagi nods and takes in a shaky breath.

"How did you-?" Usagi starts in another unstable breath.

"I've been there, I've had those thoughts." Ikuko says. "He loves you. I've seen the way he looks at you, he speaks about you… There is nothing more than you that he wants in this world. It might be far fetched to say, but he loves you" Ikuko says. "And you love him, I've seen it".

"Mama" Usagi whispers gently, tears springing into her eyes. "What did Papa think when you were getting married?" she asks… wondering what Mamoru was thinking around now. Ikuko smiles and shrugs.

"He never told me, and my guess is it's something like what you are experiencing" Ikuko says. "Now eat, the girls and I are going to start organising things" Ikuko says as she points to her plate. Usagi nods gently, placing each individual piece of food into her mouth. Usagi watches her mother walk over to the girls, who were giggling at something on the tv. She smiled at them when they looked over, before shyly looking down towards her food. Once she had finished her food, her attention was needed otherwise. The girls were slowly getting dressed into their dresses.

Usagi noticed the colours of the dresses, and how they were all exactly identical apart from the sizes each of them wore. Minako, Makoto and Ikuko each adorned a pastel purple dress, with little purple flowers tucked gently in their hair and their bouquets. Usagi beamed at them with her warm smile, as the three turned to her. Rei and Ami both wore pastel pink dresses as well. "Your turn" Minako says as they point to the white garment bag which was hanging up on the rack. Usagi swallowed loudly, nervous.

The dress wasn't much of a fanfare of a design. The top half was covered in intricate little details, flowers adorned the fabric while the leaves and branches wove up to the shoulders, stopping on the invisible fabric which hung over the shoulders before curving over to the other side, leaving a 'v' shape on the back.

Usagi sucked in a breath and let the Minako do the work on her hair and makeup while Minako prepared the rest. Usagi barely noticed when her mother and her friends all left to go help out with the rest of setting up. Minako put thin layers of makeup on her, adding highlights to where it was needed before moving to her hair.

Usagi's phone rang loudly from the dining room table. Usagi jumped out of her daze and turned to look at it, Minako's hand tugging on her hair, pulling it hard enough from her scalp that it hurt. Usagi flinched at the pain, before listening to Minako's footsteps walk away. "Hey Mamoru, It's Minako. What do you need?" Minako asks as she walks in. Usagi's face beamed at the sound of his name. "You're girlfriend just smiled at me like a child on Christmas morning the moment she heard your name…I'll let you two talk while I do her hair" Minako says as she passes the phone to Usagi. She put her ear to the receiver.

"Usako?" Mamoru's voice spoke through the receiver. Usagi let out her breath she had been holding in at the mere sound of his voice.

"Mamo-chan" She spoke loudly through the receiver. "I miss you" she whispered gently. She flinched and hissed from the pain. Mamoru heard it.

"Are you ok?" He asked carefully. She could hear the inner panic in his voice.

"Yeah…" She reassured him. They sat in silence for a minute before Mamoru spoke but not to her.

"Kunzite…if you don't shut up, I'll make you" Mamoru growled. Usagi smiled and contained a laugh.

"Ooo Scary" Kunzite challenges him from across the room.

"Mamo-chan?" Usagi asks into the receiver. The hum from his voice coming from the receiver indicated he was listening just enough that he might hear her proposal. "It's not that I don't want to talk to you or anything…but I need to talk to 'Toki" she says. The phone was handed over and Motoki's voice filled the receiver.

"Usa-chan?" Motoki speaks. "What's wrong?" he questions her. Usagi swallows.

"Mamo-chan isn't going to leave me at the alter right?" She asks him in a quiet voice. Motoki laughs.

"No, He thinks the same thing. He thinks you will. But I seriously doubt that." Motoki says. "He loves you…Mamoru-San don't. We're all leaving in thirty, get dressed you lot" Motoki says annoyed. Usagi smiles gently before the phone is taken gently from her hand.

"I need to get her dress on, so give the phone to Mamoru" Minako says into the receiver before handing it back to Usagi.

"Time for the dress?" He asks her. She laughs.

"Yeah…You better bring my father here in time" she grumbles, and he laughs.

"He'll be there in ninety minutes." Mamoru says. "I should probably let you get dressed" He sighs.

"Probably… But then I have to practice walking with Minako" She grumbles. He laughs gently to her antics.

"Well… I'll see you at the alter" he says.

"I'll be the one in white".

"Very convincing" He laughs. "Bye" he says before the phone goes into a static beep. Usagi places the phone down and sighs, gently closing her eyes. She hears the door open and footsteps along the floor into the room. She opens her eyes to see her mother, leaning against the doorway.

"Time for the dress?" Ikuko asks gently. Usagi lets out a laugh.

"So much fun" she says sarcastically as she stands up, pulling gently on her dressing gown. She turns to look at Ikuko gently, asking silently if she could leave by using her eyes. Ikuko left and shut the door gently behind her. Usagi sighed as she turned to see her dress in front of her. Minako helped shiver the dress up usagi, fitting it on her small body delicately. Usagi refused to look in the mirror.

Minako placed the white heals on the floor before gesturing Usagi to pull them on. Usagi sighed and slipped them on, hating the feel of them. She wanted her regular old sneakers back. Minako attached the simple veil to the back of the dress before pulling pieces of hair into place. By the time Usagi had looked at the clock. Mamoru would be here in around fifteen minutes. But she was surprised to see her father walk through the door the same time her mother did, Usagi turned to look at her father.

"Where is he. He needs to stay out of here" Minako says in a panic. Kenji laughs.

"He's down with the guests. The processional has started" Kenji says. He turns to Ikuko with a loving smile. "He's waiting for you as well" he says. Ikuko nods before turning to hold her daughter's hand.

"You really do look beautiful Usagi" Ikuko says to her before leaving. Kenji walks in and looks at her gently.

"I still can't believe you two were engaged for four years. You sure about this?" He asks quickly. Usagi flashes him a look before smiling.

"Of course. I've wanted this since I was little remember?" She asks him with a laugh. He smiles and nods.

"Alright. Here's Makoto with Nephrite" he says. "And Kunzite" he says as he turns up. She smiles at them.

"You Ready to go?" He asks her. Usagi nods and smiles. Usagi follows along with her father behind Kunzite and Nephrite, Minako and Makoto picking up the drag of the fabric behind them. They walked down into the elevator, pressing the button to the bottom floor. They stepped inside, all looking at Usagi's shaking form.

"Usagi… Are you alright?" Makoto asks and she nods.

"Nervous" she whispers. The elevator door opens, and it reveals Motoki and Reika. They smile when they see everyone in the elevator before noticing Usagi and her father at the back.

"Hey…" Motoki says as they all step out in a line. Usagi follows nervously before Motoki steps in the line. They all follow and as they are about to exit the building, the music start playing as Minako turns around.

"Follow five steps after me" she says to everyone. "And five steps after whoever is in front of you" she says before stepping outside with Kunzite. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Makoto and Nephrite were leaving, Minako was almost at the middle of the isle. One. Two. Three. Four. Motoki turned to me and smiled before leaving on the five, Reika in tow looking beautiful and very pregnant. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Usagi left with her father down towards the isle. She felt all the eyes falling away from Motoki and Reika, and onto herself. She felt the blush creeping up to her cheeks as she looked down at the ground.

Usagi had noticed after five steps, she was in the middle of the isle, so she turned her head up and saw him.

The waves crashed faintly against the shore, drowned out by the music, and the smell of salt water reached her. She turned her attention to what was in front of her. Mamoru stood at the end of the isle, wearing a black tuxedo and his hair, brushed into perfection…It looked like Makoto had gotten to him. She smiled at him, making him smile in return. Kenji looked at her as they reached the end, stopping in front of Mamoru. Kenji kissed his daughter away, handing her hand to her new husbands.

Usagi couldn't help but smile at him while the officiant welcomed everyone to witness the matrimony. Mamoru looked at her as well, his eyes were shining in the dark ocean blue they were. We knew what was to happen next: The exchange of vows. Mamoru went first.

"I don't know what I'd do without you" he started with a shaky breath. "My life was dark, before my star came along, to help me find what I was looking for. I always thought, at a young age, that I was complete in myself. I didn't know, when I met you that I would ever fall in love with you…at first it was awkward, and then, since I…didn't have any experience and advice on what to do…I…teased you because of how much I liked you and then one day, you started crying and you turned around and said you liked me…after that day…I don't think I could go back…to how It was before I met you…and it felt like that for those four years I was in America for and…the face I saw when I came back, my heart begged me to stay in Japan for you and… the joy I felt when you said you'd move into my apartment…but what I'm trying to say is… I love you, and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together from this day forth" he says. Usagi could feel the tears brimming on the edge of her eyes. She smiled.

"Well, there goes my vows." She laughs. The crowd laughs with her in union. "I don't think I can really add much now. But anyway, I'll say what I'd written" she sucks in a breath. We met because of Motoki; he had told me later on in life that he had originally set us up. We met, and it was normal. It was a while until Mamo had started to be mean to me, calling me names, you know the usual things. I didn't understand at first when I found out I had feelings for him I avoided him so I wouldn't get hurt…but it felt like he was always where I was to break me again. But I stayed strong, even when I was advised to get over him, but I was upset every night, going to bed crying… then one day… he said something again…I turned around and yelled at him, telling him my feelings unintentionally. I was crying when he stopped me from leaving. Apologising and telling me everything… that was the day that I finally understood. We started fresh. Acted as if we never spoke until Motoki's new years eve party where he kissed me…and I don't think in that moment, you'd find anyone happier than me… we started dating after that. He always keeps me in check too. Helps me follow after my dreams which I aimed to achieve. And thanks to him I was here now…" she whispers. The officiant smiles, continuing onto the other vows.

"Mamoru Chiba" The officiant addresses Mamoru after a moment. "Please repeat after me: I Mamoru Chiba"

"I Mamoru Chiba" His voice was happy, but nervous at the same time as he repeating it into the crowd.

"Take Usagi Tsukino"

"Take Usagi Tsukino"

"To death do us part" Usagi says with a grin on her face.

"You may now exchange rings" The officiant says. Motoki comes up with the one ring on the pillow, a simple silver ring, the same as the one Minako came with, but in a larger size. Usagi placed the ring on Mamoru's finger, before Mamoru placed hers on hers. They smiled. "You may now kiss the bride" The officiant says to them both. Usagi smiles up to him as he leans down to her face before sealing it with a kiss.

They were both unaware when they heard the cheering in the background, until they broke apart with a smile on their faces. Both of them walked down the line of people, hugging them and talking to them as they congratulated them. Usagi was crying, Mamoru had noticed as she hugged people, but it wasn't a sad set of tears leaking from her eyes. They were happy tears.

As they made their way through the line, the congratulations passing through, Usagi stopped at her parents. She smiled as she hugged them both tightly around their waist. "Oh, congratulations dear" Ikuko cried as she pulled away. "I'm so happy for you" she whispered.

"Thanks Mama" Usagi whispers back.

"I guess congratulations" Kenji says. "Welcome to the family Mamoru" he says gently. Mamoru smiles and nods back to him.

"Thank you…you don't understand how much that means to me" Mamoru says gently. Ikuko drags Kenji away gently as Mamoru and Usagi see the limo awaiting for them. They walk towards it, one arm wrapped around each other's waist. They arrive within a few seconds, Mamoru helping Usagi inside. Usagi sighs and reaches down to grab her heals. She sighs as she rubs her feat gently before slipping them back on. Mamoru laughs as he pulls her into his lap. "So, we have five minutes alone until we get there" Mamoru says with a smile. Usagi giggles gently at him.

"I thought we were supposed to wait until the honeymoon" She giggles. Mamoru chuckles at her response, shaking his head.

"Not that silly, I meant this" he says before his lips attach to hers. She sighs, parting her lips as she kisses him. After a minute, Mamoru laughs and brakes it apart. Usagi smiles. "You are so ruled by your hormones" He laughs as he kisses her again. Another minute later, she answers.

"And you aren't?" she asks with a giggle. He smiles.

"Besides. I have more control than you…You're pregnant don't forget. Your hormones are everywhere" he states. She huffs, and he raises his eyebrows. The driver announces they had arrived to them before they stepped out. Minako was there, turns out her and Kunzite had driven themselves after they had congratulated them. Minako gently pulled out the veil from her hair. Placing it gently in her bag.

"You two can go for a walk" Minako says with a smile. "The guests should all be arriving soon" she says. "Otherwise, we won't get the grand entrance" she says with a laugh. They nod before walking away down the path that ran along the numerous restaurants they had chosen. Her hand wrapped in his as they walked, no words spoken. They walked for three minutes in one direction before sitting on the park bench, hands still intertwined as they stared into the blackness of the night. Usagi started crying unexpectedly, startling Mamoru out of his daze.

"Usako?" He asks her as he looks at her. He watched as she tries to stop, but she fails.

"I'm fine…" She whispers as she takes in a shaky breath. He turns to her gently as her gaze touches his face. He smiles at her. He noticed she wasn't upset about anything…she was happy. "I'm just relieved…I thought you'd see me and want to turn around…not be with me anymore because I'm not pretty" she admits in a whisper.

"Why wouldn't I want you?" he questions in a confused voice.

"Because…Well did you have your eyes open today? Have you seen Minako? Ami? Rei? Makoto? Even my mother looked prettier than me" she says dumfounded by his answer. Mamoru laughs gently, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Of course, I had my eyes open. To me you are beautiful everyday" He whispers awkwardly, having trouble admitting this due to his closure in public spaces. "Especially today… never doubt how beautiful you are to me Usako" he says as he leans closer to her. Usagi smiles before kissing him tenderly.

They broke apart, both looking at each other with adoration and love. "We should probably go back. Minako would kill us" Mamoru says. As if on cue, his phone vibrated in his pocket and he laughed, replying back to Minako that they were on their way. Usagi sighed as she looked down at her heals.

"It feels so nice to not stand in these for a bit" she says, a sigh, looking down at her heals. Mamoru laughs before holding out his arms. She eyes them carefully.

"Are you going to jump up or what?" he asks with a laugh. She smiles as he helps her up into his arms, a relieved sigh coming out her mouth. Mamoru laughs as she wraps her arms wrapped him. "Better?" he asks. She sighs.

"Much better" she says in a breath. He carries her back to the reception, stopping outside where Minako was, her eyebrows raising as she sees them together. Mamoru places her down with a blush forming on both their faces.

"Alright, I need to fix your make-up. You've been crying so…" she trails off, wiping the runoff mascara off her. She adds the foundation back on, as well as the mascara. She smiles when she's done. "Alright, the photographer is waiting for you" Minako says. They nod and walk out to the beach. The photographer was waiting for them near a bench chair on the other side.

"I'm Haru. I'll be your photographer today" he says as he shakes each Mamoru and Usagi's hands. Haru took them to the shore, not to close to the water and took the photos. There were some with the lights on, and some in the dark. They were done within thirty minutes and left, thanking Haru for his time, to the reception. Usagi knocked on the door, alerting Minako that they were back. They heard the guests quiet before they opened the door. The clapping started as they walked inside before they got to their table. Usagi introduced her parents gently, then Minako announced them both as a married couple. Usagi blushed crimson. So did Mamoru. Then Minako pushed them encouragingly out onto the dance floor.

Usagi wrapped her arms around Mamoru's neck, his hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer as the music played gently. Usagi smiled as his hands traced patterns in the waist of her dress. "You really are beautiful, you know" he whispers to her. She laughs.

"I love you" she whispers back to him, her smile gone as she craned her neck up towards his face, his leaned towards hers before kissing her gently. It was rare she got a display of affection in public from him, so she was happy. The cameras clicked as they kissed, breaking apart after a few seconds. They continued dancing until the song ended, and then people with their dates come onto the floor, Usagi's father tapped on usagi's shoulder, him asking with his eyes if he could dance with his daughter. Mamoru smiled, placing a kiss on Usagi's cheek before leaving her with her father, walking off.

He watched them dance, usagi moving around with different people before she came up to him, sitting at the table next to him with glowing eyes. "Hey" she whispered. He smiled at her as everyone started sitting down at their designated seats. Usagi's mother stood up, tapping the metal of the spoon on the top of the glass bringing everyone's attention to her. "On behalf of Kenji and myself; We'd like to thank everyone for coming today to witness my daughter to marry her new husband…and thank everyone for supporting them through everything, and I'd like to thank Mamoru especially; for looking after my daughter…for being there for her." Ikuko says before sitting down in her seat across from Usagi.

The first meal was served shortly after, and once everyone had finished their meals, Minako stood up from her seat, tapping her metal spoon on her glass again. She smiled as she turned to everyone. "I'd like to thank Usagi for being there for everyone…we're all really blessed to have your madness in our lives…and we hope that you're happy…and you really do look beautiful today Usagi-chan" she says as she raises her glass to her. Usagi blushed but smiled at Minako gently. As Minako sat down, the second course was served, and everyone began eating.

Motoki stood up after the second course's plates were taken away, doing the same as Minako. He stood up, tapped his spoon on his glass and began to propose a toast. "I'd like to propose a toast" He started gently, turning to look at Mamoru. "To Mamoru, my best mate" he said. "I knew the moment you met Usagi that it'd work out for you two…and I know you couldn't make it to our wedding, but we couldn't miss yours for the world. You're my best man every day and will be forever…and I'm glad you found Usagi…She's changed you…but not for the bad…but for the good…and I wish you luck for the future" he says. Everyone drinks before the cake comes out on a tray before it's placed on the table. It was a basic wedding cake. White icing around the whole thing, and fondant flowers surrounded it. Usagi and Mamoru stood up and walked over to the cake, everyone following them and surrounding them. The photographer walked to the front, and so did Minako. Mamoru was handed the knife, before he looked at Usagi with raised eyebrows. Usagi put her hand on top of his as he pressed the knife into the cake gently, Mamoru's other hand wrapped around Usagi's waist.

The cake was cut. Everyone had eaten a slice. It was now time for the traditions to happen. Usagi smiled as she took her bouquet and turned around, back facing the crowd of girls. She threw it behind her gently. She turned around to see Minako holding it in her hands with a smile on her face before Minako winked.

The music began playing and people were splitting apart to go socialise. Usagi sat at the table the rest of the girls were at. They talked, bringing up little details to annoy Usagi. Usagi watched as Mamoru walked over from one table to another, but one thing caught her eye as he went over to his mates. A girl, red hair and a red dress covering her body walked up to him. They shook hands and usagi glared at her. "Mina…Who's that talking to my Mamo-chan?" she asks as the turns back to Minako, knowing she knew everyone who was invited.

"One of Mamoru's colleagues" Minako shrugs. "They're only acquaintances, so I don't know why you're panicking" Minako says with a shrug.

"Minako" Makoto says looking at her as well. "It looks like she's hitting on Mamoru-San" she says. Usagi turns back to look at them before standing up. The girls call her name before she turns back.

"I'll behave" she says gently. She turns back around and walks over to the encounter with a smile. "Mamo-chan" she says as she wraps her arm around his waist. He turns to look at her with a smile. "Hey" she says with a smile.

"Hey Usako" he says, grinning at her. "Usako this is Beryl. She used to go to Harvard while I was there, but she left" he says gently in a friendly manner. "Beryl this is my wife, Usagi" he introduces. Usagi shakes her hand gently before turning to Mamoru.

"Mina said that we only have ten minutes for talking before we have to go to the apartment and get changed before we leave." Usagi says gently. Mamoru nods, dismissing Beryl as they walk over to the boys. They spend the remainder of their time talking to the boys before they leave. Everyone was clapping for them as they walked out of the building before, once they were out of sight, mamoru swept usagi up off her feet and into his arms. Usagi sighs in relief from the pain in her feet. Mamoru laughs before placing her back on her feet.

"Thank you" Mamoru says as he lifts her chin up with his finger. "For everything" he whispered.

"No, Thank You" She whispers before sealing her lips with his.
