Chapter 27: Prologue

The wind blew the leaves free from the branches of the trees, taking them on a journey into a new life. The breeze was fresh, and the perfect temperature against everyone's skin. Usagi sat with Mamoru, her hair loose around her back while Mamoru comforted her gently.

Minako and Kunzite sat nearby on the blanket, looking after their two-year-old son, Itsuki. They laughed as when Kunzite wasn't looking, took his father's wedding ring. Makoto and Nephrite watched their daughter, Imiko play with Chibi-Usa and Kousagi, both of Mamoru and Usagi's daughters.

Rei and Zoisite watched, like Makoto and Nephrite, their twins play with the rest of the children. Their daughter Chitose, and their son Takibi. Meanwhile Ami and Jadeite sat next to them, Ami pregnant and in her 30th week.

The giggling from the children on the hill resounded to their ears though and couldn't help but make them smile.

"How you going Usagi?" Minako asks her as Usagi moved uncomfortably in her husband's lap. Usagi shrugged, sighing as she closed her eyes on his chest. "I'm sorry about what happened" she says.

"It's not your fault Mina." She whispers, opening her eyes slightly to put on a sad smile. "It's life. And I don't think anyone could have anticipated that." She sighs, a hand slithering to her stomach.

"I know Usagi" Mina whispers. "We're all here if you need us"

"Thank you, Mina," she whispers before falling slowly asleep. Mamoru smiled as he ran his fingers through the racetrack of her hair. Ami looked over towards the couple, a frown gracing her lips.

"I can't believe it though" Ami whispered, looking over to Mamoru. "It's less of a one percent chance of it happening that late" she breathed, looking over at Usagi.

"What happened again?" Rei asks, confused. The girls knew Rei didn't know, knowing that usagi didn't want her to know in case she blew anything out of its proportion. But they knew that she had a right to know as well.

"Usagi had a miscarriage last week. She was rushed to hospital and had surgery" Ami states. "They were lucky that they could tell if it was a boy or a girl. That's why Usagi's mildly uncomfortable, and why she doesn't look pregnant anymore" Ami states. "Mamoru-San. Did you know what gender the baby was?"

Mamoru took a deep breath and looked towards his daughters, who were playing. "It was a boy" he whispers as he turns his face forcefully over towards Ami.

"Did you know it was happening before it happened?" Makoto asks him, curious. Mamoru sighed, pained by having to talk about it, but he would tell them, so they knew if it happened to themselves.

"It was calm, and we both only just woke up. Usako wouldn't move from the bed, and she seemed in a lot of pain. I went to look after both the girls before coming back to the bedroom to find her gone. There was a lot of blood on the sheets, and she came out of the bathroom crying from the pain." Mamoru sighs. "I called for Ikuko and Kenji to come over and take care of the girls. While we waited, I asked Usagi what was happening, and she said she didn't know before her parents arrived. Ikuko said she was having a miscarriage and then we left to the hospital" Mamoru spoke quietly.

"Dada" Kousagi ran up to her father, almost running into him.

"Hey Kou, You hungry?" He asks her.

"Ya" she cheers, disturbing her mother slightly.

"Why don't you get the others than and we can eat Aunt Mako's food that she made" he says, watching her run away to find the others. Usagi stirred slightly, her eyes opening to look at her husband.

"Hey" she whispers with a small smile. "Is it time for food?" she asks him.

Mamoru laughed quietly as he nodded, moving slightly as he made room for her to make herself comfortable.

Every day was a different chapter it seemed, but the same collection of stories.

The pages of the books always turned, and they hoped the next pages were happier ones.

Chibi-Usa grew up and flew her way through high school, not struggling as much as Usagi had. Chibi-Usa Had met her husband in high school, Helios. She then proceeded to study the arts in university. They married and should be expecting another child after their first-born son, Yuma.

Kousagi grew up like everyone else and married her husband which whom she met in the hospital while working there. They would wait, at least for a year until they tried for a child.

Usagi and Mamoru lived out their best days, as if it was their last. So that one day, when they shall go, they shouldn't have any regrets.

Thank you all for sticking around until the end. Unfortunately, I won't be posting anything related to fanfiction for quiet a while now, and it's felt so good to finish it and get it off my back.

Currently I'm attempting to write my own book, which I probably will never post.

If there's anything recommended that you'd like me to write, then let me know and I might be able to write something. (Most likely next year).

I wanted to finish this before my year 10 school camp (which sucks. Don't want to go)
