Desperation Part 1
"What are we going to do, Jason? We haven't seen our daughter in nine years!" Ashley exclaimed.
"Don't panic, Ashley," Jason said. "we'll talk this matter over tomorrow when we meet the others at JB's, okay?"
"All right, Jace." Ashley said.
Jason and Ashley went to their bedroom to get ready for bed.
The next morning at JB's, Jason showed the letter to the others.
Maya picked up the letter and inspected it.
"It's legit," Maya said to Ashley and Jason. "your sister is bringing your daughter here to live with you by train in a month's time!"
"They both already know that, Maya." Lee countered.
"The question at hand is, what are we going to do," Jason asked. "when we haven't seen Lucky in nine years?"
"Was there a date in the letter?" Lisa asked Jason.
"No, Lisa, there was no date of arrival in the letter." Jason replied.
"I see," Lisa said to Jason. "does Lucky know how to ride?"
"Lucky grew up in the city," Ashley answered Lisa. "she doesn't know much about country life, much less horseback riding."
Rafael got an excellent idea.
"What are you thinking, Darling?" Lisa asked Rafael.
"I was thinking, that Maya and Lee could sign their daughter up for riding lessons at Pine Hollow."
"You mean Ashley and Jason, Rafa," Lisa laughed. "Maya and Lee don't have any children!"
"Actually, Lisa," Maya said. "Lee and I are expecting our first child in a month."
Lisa and Rafael shared excited glances.
