"Your father and I needed the money, so," Ashley explained. "you were raised by your grandparents and aunt in Arlington so we could work until we were able to support you, plus, we weren't ready to be parents at that time, we thought that your grandparents and aunt could raise you until we were ready to take on the responsibillities of parenthood."
"I see." Lucky said.
"Keep that girl away from me! She's a freak! She belongs in the carnival! Not a riding school!" Vanessa shouted, pointing at Lucky.
Vanessa stormed off to see if Will tacked Adagio up for her.
Demi Biggins Atherton and her horse, Fury were having their turn at jumping in the older class.
When, a flying disc began zooming their way.
"Demi! Fury," Brian called out. "heads up!"
Without any warning, Lucky used her telekinesis to stop the flying disc.
A young blonde girl with her hair in pigtails and her best friend ran up to Lucky.
"What a close shave! You're new around here, right?" the blonde girl asked.
"Y-y-y-yes." Lucky stammered, she was beginning to feel nervous again.
"Thought so," the blonde girl said. "my name is Nicole Charity Marsten Lake, I'm 9-years-old, I am the only female cousin of Sara Jane Lake Marsten, the daughter of the owners of the new local eatery around here, the Riding Ring! My family and friends call me Nikki! What's your name?"
"Juliana Fortuna Lake Whyte, but my family and friends call me Lucky." Lucky answered Nikki.
"You're the daughter of my dad's cousin! No way," Nikki exclaimed. "that means we are second cousins!"
"Do you ever come up for air, Nikki?" a jet-black haired emerald green eyed girl asked.
"Oops! Sorry, Cleo." Nikki said.
"You're forgiven, Nikki," Cleo said. "and greetings, Lucky, I'm Cleo Mackennet, welcome to Willow Creek and Pine Hollow."
"Thank you." Lucky said to Cleo and Nikki.
