Attending A Circus Performance

"What's in your hand there, Lucky?" Ashley asked.

"Three, count them, three tickets to the Wandering Star Circus troup's performance tonight," Lucky exclaimed, she was excited. "can you, Dad, and I go? Please say 'yes.'"

Jason looked up from the sports section of the newspaper.

"I have the day off, so, I could go with Lucky to the circus." Jason said to Ashley.

"Thanks, Jason, I have the night shift because of my job as a shopping mall security guard tonight anyway." Ashley said.

"But, Mom," Lucky protested. "Risa and Evie gave me three tickets!"

"I'm sorry, Lucky," Ashley sighed. "but I need to work tonight, we need the money."

"I understand, Mom." Lucky sighed.

Instead of wasting the third ticket that night, Lucky decided to invite Nikki, the only daughter and child of attorney, Michael Lake and Officer Anastasia Marsten, since she too had never attended a circus show in her life before.

Risa and Evie were standing in for the new trapeze artists, 13-year-old Victoria and 12-year-old Miguel Santiago, a brother and sister duo who were sick with the flu and were being taken care of by their parents.

After the show that night, Jason decided to take Nikki and Lucky out to JB's for ice cream.

All Lucky and Nikki could talk about was how good the Atwood family was at the acts they performed all the while they ate their ice cream.
