Riding Lessons Resume
"Pegasus has taken a liking to you, Katie." Max said.
Katie turned to see Pegasus with one of her oats and honey granola bars from her two pack in his mouth.
"Hey you thief! That was mine! You are just like Comanche!" Katie laughed at Pegasus.
"What makes you say that?" Max asked Katie.
"Red told me a story about how Missis Taylor taught Comanche how to grab things from the top of his stall, and Comanche ate Red's chocolate bar!" Katie answered Max.
"I see, and since you and Pegasus seem to be getting along," Max said. "I will assign him to you."
Katie wrapped her arms around Pegasus and hugged him.
A few days later, there was a jumping lesson between Maxine's class and Jeanne's class.
Katie could not wait to start jumping Pegasus.
"Your old mule can't keep up with the rest of us, now can he?" Vanessa taunted Katie.
"Don't listen to my second cousin, Katie," Brian encouraged. "she is as big a spoiled brat as my sister over at the Winston Riding Institute."
"That's right, Katie," Risa agreed. "Pegasus is still new to you... you're not ready to jump him just yet."
Evie, Matt, and Brian were also sidelined because they too weren't ready to jump either Alora, Gustdance, or Wisteria respectively just yet because those horses were also new to their riders.
"Our mom used to ride Pegasus when she was our age." Evie observed.
After the lesson, they cooled out their horses, Risa began rubbing at her eye.
"Are you all right, Risa?" Evie asked.
Risa just fell to the ground with a hard thud.
"Oh no! Risa!" Demi exclaimed.
