"H...how is she alive?" Anne asked Sasha in disbelief. How did she survive?
"I don't know..."
Anne made a sigh of relief and smiled. If she's alive, that means...there's still a chance of making everything right...there's still a chance for me to tell Marcy how I feel...
"T...that's amazing!"
"But, Anne, she isn't herself...she's working for King Andrias..."
Anne's smile faded. "No...why would she...?"
"She didn't recognize me. She was the one who captured Grime, and I'm trying to get him back, but I need to recruit more frogs and toads."
"Could she be under mind control?"
"It didn't seem that way. She was acting more or less like herself...I think something happened to her memory."
"Wait...if I'm talking to you, then...Marcy? Are you here? Say something if you're listening..."
Anne waited, but there was no response.
"I don't think she hears us...that's good. I don't want her to know my plans. She would surely tell King Andrias...but, Anne, I...wanted to say I'm sorry...for all the deception...and for controlling you and Marcy...I was a bad friend to both of you..."
"Sasha..."
"Don't even try to say I haven't been a bad friend...I saw what you wrote about me, and...it allowed me to do some self-reflection..."
"Wait, you read my journal?"
"Yea...I'm sorry...it was on the ground, and...I got curious..."
"Then you know that I said you're not a bad person...and I still believe that...we just...need to work on being better friends..."
"I don't deserve a friend like you...not after how I treated you..."
"Sasha, don't be ridiculous! Sure, you haven't treated me the best...and sure you betrayed me...twice...but the fact that you're talking to me about it is a start...and well...if there's anyone that can lead the frogs and toads, it's you...you've always had a leadership quality to you..."
"You really think so?"
"Absolutely! You just...also need to accept input from others..."
"Thanks Anne...I'll try...and...I'll find a way to get the box and get Marcy's memory back..."
Anne smiled. "I know you will...I gotta get going...but I'll make sure to come back here tomorrow. For whatever reason, it seems I can talk to you in here..."
"You think maybe it has something to do with our connection to the box?"
"Maybe...I'll hopefully see you again soon..."
"Yea...see you soon..."
Anne stepped out of the room. Hattie and Helena had confused expressions on their faces.
"Did anyone else hear Sasha?"
"No," Hattie said. "It sounded like you were going crazy in there."
"Well, I heard her...and...Marcy is alive...she's working for King Andrias, and it seems that she forgot me and Sasha...but Sasha has a plan. So...if all goes well, I won't need to go back to Amphibia."
"Let's just hope Sasha can pull off her plan..." Helena said.
As Anne left the temple with Hattie and Helena, she couldn't help but worry for Sasha. This could be an extremely dangerous mission she's on, and she can't afford to mess up. She also thought about Marcy...
I hope Sasha can help Marcy...
Anne arrived home a few hours later and greeted her mom at the door. She walked into the living room and saw Sprig, Polly and Maggie.
"Hey, Anne, what did you find?" Sprig asked.
"Hope...I found hope..."
Meanwhile, back in Newtopia, King Andrias was overseeing his army from inside his castle, making preparations for the invasion. Marcy was on top of the outer wall of the castle. Something was bothering her. A melancholy of sorts flooded her mind as she thought of her last interaction with Sasha. Why am I feeling guilt towards someone I don't know?
Suddenly, she heard voices. The one she recognized as Sasha, as she had met her already, but the other she didn't recognize. The voice was soon identified to be Anne...and that name sounded vaguely familiar, though she wasn't sure why. As she listened further, Sasha detailed her plan to get Grime back and get the box, and now one thing was certain...she had to put a stop to this plan. King Andrias has worked so hard to get to this moment of glory...I won't let anyone ruin it!
Marcy went up to where King Andrias was.
"I got...word that Sasha is making an army and is going to try and rescue Grime and get the box..."
"Ah...excellent...I can delay our departure for a bit and set a trap for her...and then she can bear witness to my glory as I take over Earth!"
"But, Andrias...I'm confused...why do the names Sasha and Anne feel familiar to me?"
"Ah, well, you see...they were your old friends...from before you lost all of your memories...but they never appreciated you...at least, not in the same way I do...they never shared any of your interests and...well...they never treated you with the respect you deserve..."
"But then...why do I feel some sort of...connection with them?"
"Perhaps part of you still cares for them...but they never earned your friendship...they did more to stifle you than to help you..."
"I...suppose that makes sense..."
"Hey, tell you what...how about we play a game of Flipwart to take your mind off of your troubles?"
"Uh, sure...that sounds good..."
"Excellent...let's go set it up..."
Marcy followed Andrias into the other room and started to help him set up the game. But she was still unable to get her mind off of her old friends...
