Slayer: Time for another redux chapter yeah!
Argentum: Right after we finished another one for my story.
Slayer: Well… darn it I can't say anything about it! Freaking spoilers…
Argentum: Heh.
Slayer: Yeah laugh it up.
Shadow: I also think it's funny.
Slayer: Well you're at least partially evil. So you don't count.
Shadow: Should've expected an evil comment.
Shizu: You do get those a lot.
Shadow: Oh shove off gunslinger!
Slayer: Oy vey…
Mizore: We have fun here.
Shadow: Bah! Screw fun and let's just start all this already!
Slayer: Fine yeesh! Shizu go ahead and start so mister grumpy doesn't destroy my house.
Shizu: Will do sir. Once more we here at the Dark Guard productions own nothing but oc's and reality building concepts. Everything else belongs to their respective owners. Now without further delay…
Everyone: Here's the story!

Thoughts/talking to inner voice
Chapter Six: Mall cop got nothing on this!
I woke up the next day feeling a bit groggy and yet energetic. Turns out being excited and nervous at the same time can do that to a person. If I were honest it was a first for me. Still started out slow when making breakfast, but quickly picked up speed as I woke up more. As I ate a piece of toast I looked at the clock to see how much time I had left.
Nine thirty huh? Still have two and a half hours left. Pausing for a bit I realized that while I had an idea of what I wanted to do on the date. I had no idea on just what I was going to wear. My wardrobe didn't exactly help me out with that either. Turns out that having most of your wardrobe be for battle, didn't help much when it came to dates. Pursing my lips I decided to ask my two resident voices on what to wear. So I'm at a loss here. Do you two have any ideas?
Well how bout you wear those black slacks with the white dress shirt. That would be a start I suppose.
I nodded my head before speaking to her. Okay that's a good start but I think we need something a bit more. So what do you think Kusanagi? I mean out of the three of us, you are probably the one with the most experience with this.
I heard a giggle from her before she answered. 'Hehe!~ Ah yes bask in the advice from one who has been sat with gods and royalty. Now take that black belt with the grey buckle and that dark blue duster there. We'll continue after you put those on.' Trusting the apparently "royal" sword, I started putting on what she suggested. I was then directed to a black tie which I neatly put on. As I heard approval Kusanagi then told me to put on a pair of black dress socks and shoes. Once completed I looked myself over in the mirror, I was also about to put on my sunglasses but that was vetoed by Kusanagi.
'You will not hide your eyes while on a date! Besides no one is going to question your eye color so role with it.'
I guess I didn't look to bad, but I felt slightly vulnerable without some kind of weapon. I mean sure I didn't usually carry one, but I always felt better with one on my person. So to offset that I went over to the pistols I got from that strange Darkwraith last night. The man creeped me out a bit I would admit, but I can honestly say he was a nice guy.
Looking them over I got out some leather thread and started carefully sewing the holsters into my coat. Call it paranoia if you like, but as someone once said… "Just because they're not your enemy… Doesn't mean you're not theirs." I really must find a way to meet the person who first came up with that quote. They seem like an incredibly wise and intelligent person. Inside my head I could hear both my dark side as well as Kusanagi groan. Ignoring them as I finished up I tried to remember any other time that I've felt this way.
I couldn't help but chuckle when I couldn't. Meaning that I had to try my absolute best today, for at the very least Mizore's sake. When I was thinking of what to do on the date earlier, I had decided to use what I know about her to come up with a game plan. In fact one of the reasons I chose this day to have the date was because the bus came today at noon. You see the bus only comes once a month, a large problem and bother to a lot of students but I personally had gotten over it.
I figured we could start with some lunch, go see some type of a movie if she wanted, go out shopping since I believed girls liked that sort of thing. Although I myself needed to buy a few things, mostly stuff for my fridge as well as clothes for both me and Shirone. Storing them would be quite simple since we'd just need to drop everything off in my hunters dream. After that we could go out to eat something, or I could make something.
I'd have to see what Mizore would want. Then for the finale we'd take a nice walk by the lake she likes so much near the school. It all sounded a bit cheesy and cliché when I thought of it. But it was the best that a total rookie like myself could come up with. Everything was completely new to me, and I could only hope Mizore would like my efforts. I was after all a man in love, and I was not going waste the opportunity given to me! I took a deep breath to calm my nerves which were actually quite jittery. Finally calmed down I looked at the time to see that I had about forty-five minutes left. We had agreed the previous day that we'd meet at the bus stop. I knew it wouldn't take me long to get there, but I figured arriving early was the best thing to do.
I had no desire to keep my prospective girlfriend waiting. Another benefit was that it would also allow me to plan things out even further, and also mentally prepare myself better without having to rush. Okay so maybe I was over thinking this and freaking out. I will be the first to admit it without fuss, but like I've said I'm completely new to all of this. In fact in order to get my mind off it I did what I usually do to stop stray thoughts… and that would be to slam my head into a wall. It worked but in hindsight punching I really should've thought of a different way to calm down. There was only so many brain cells I could lose.
Even after arriving at the bus stop I was still a little wobbly, but quickly started to recover once I sat down. Sighing I checked the time to see how long I had left. It was elven-thirty. Apparently all my freaking out had cost me fifteen minutes. Still now that I was there I was able to sit down and just wait for my wonderful date to show up. The events for today would mostly take place at the Youkai mall. It wasn't the biggest mall but it was nice and had plenty of stores to explore.
Next time, if there was a next time, it might be fun to visit her home. She had told me once that it had a resort of sorts attached to her village. But at the moment I thought that this was for the best. Didn't want any awkward conversations with her family, at least not quite yet. We were just starting and I wanted to see where this all went before anything else.
I was actually so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't notice someone was behind me, until two familiar pale hands covered my eyes. The hands were soft and cold. I was surprised at first but then I heard a familiar and wonderful voice.
"Guess who?" I had to smile at that, it seems as though she was finally able to sneak up on me. The beautiful yuki-onna had been trying since we first met. But I was so in tuned with her unique energy that I always knew where she was.
I finally answered after some mock thinking time. "Hmm… I wonder? Is it the wonderful and beautiful Mizore?" I heard her giggle before she answered me.
"Yep you got it right and thank you for the compliment." Even though I couldn't see her I could tell that she was blushing a bit. I gently grabbed her hands before turning around to see her. I was curious to see what she and Shirone would come up with. The teenaged boy inside of me couldn't help but stare a bit. I probably looked like an idiot to entire world, what with my wide eyes and mouth hanging slightly opened. My dark inner voice summed up what I was thinking rather well.
Woo girl! She knows how to dress! I recovered slightly at her voice and answered.
Yeah but now I feel quite out of place. I mean my clothes don't quite compare. My new resident tried to reassure me that I was fine.
'Don't worry Hunter you look fine! I made sure of that after all. It's just that Mizore herself is a beautiful young woman. It's only natural to feel this way.' I had to question her after she said that. Kusunagi's words were encouraging so I quickly calmed my anxieties. Shaking my head I took one last look at my date. She was wearing ice-blue flat dress shoes and white blue knee length tights. She was also wearing an ice blue summer dress with a dark blue ribbon around her waist. The neck collar of the dress was also dark blue and the straps were of the same color. But what surprised me the most was that she had actually cut her hair.
Instead of being long and reaching down her back, it was now shoulder length. In her hands she held a small light blue purse. It was simple but I actually liked it. I found it perfect for her; after all she didn't need anything fancy to be the most beautiful. I always thought she was the moment I met her. Looking at her must have made her a bit nervous since she was now fidgeting under my gaze. Though still new to all of this I knew her well enough to know that she wished for me to say something.
So that's exactly what I did. "Well like I said before, the beautiful and wonderful Mizore. However… I think even this is a new level for you. You look really amazing Mizore." She gazed down as her face became bright red, her pale skin not helping to hide it at all. Still despite her embarrassed blush she was still able to say a few things to me.
"Tha-thank you… Are yo-you sure that I look nice like this? Me and Shirone were actually curious to see if you'd like my hair like this." She played with her hair a bit as she questioned me. In turn I smiled and touched her hair gently. Now if I were honest I actually preferred girl's with medium short hair like hers. Not that Mizore didn't look good with long hair mind you; it's just my personal preference.
So what I said next was completely true. "I actually think you look even better with your hair like this." If it were possible I could've sworn her face became even redder. Laughing a bit I continued talking. "Hehe, I'm actually starting to feel underdressed compared to you." Still blushing she shook her head when I said that.
"There's no reason to feel like that! You look rather nice yourself." Somehow I could actually feel my smile brighten at her compliment. A few of my worries now relieved thanks to her kind words. In fact I couldn't help but pull her into a tight embrace, she felt cold but that was to be expected. Thankfully she took my surprise hug well and hugged me back. It wasn't like this was the first time I've done this. But the other times were mostly friendly or me holding onto her to blink somewhere. This time I tried to put in what I felt for her. It seemed to work when she leaned into me. Another point for me! Not that I was tallying up anything that is…
We both know that's a lie.
Shut up. As my dark side laughed I let go of Mizore and grabbed hold of her hand. I then helped her sit down on the bench and put an arm around her as I sat. After a moment of getting comfortable, Mizore put her head on my shoulder. We didn't really say anything until the bus arrived and we had to get up and get on. I looked at the driver who had taken me to the academy in the first place. He still had that creepy smile and glowing eyes. He looked at us and then chuckled before speaking.
"Well it seems you're still alive! Good for you! And it seems like someone has a new girlfriend, so where to killer?" I rolled my eyes at him but still had to smile a bit. Despite his creepiness and smoking habit, I found it hard to actually dislike the guy.
"To the new Youkai mall that has opened up. I assume you know where that is?" He scoffed in mock hurt before answering me.
"Of course I know where that is. I wouldn't be much of a bus driver if I didn't now would I?" I laughed at that before agreeing and moving down to the middle of the bus. It was the sixth seat on the right, stepping behind it a bit I offered her to sit down first like a chauffeur would open up a limo's door for their riders.
Mizore giggled at my antics as she took the spot next to the window. Getting in afterword's I opened up the window to allow some wind in. It was still a high school bus after all. They tend to become slightly stuffy. And it didn't help that mister glowing eyes was smoking on a cigar. As I sat down next to Mizore I saw that she looked a bit warm on the bus. She took out her purse and was about to take out one of her suckers when I put my hand on her shoulder. She looked at me before I spoke.
"Please allow me good miss." With that I used both my wind and ice manipulations to create a cold pocket of air around us. She seemed to relax in comfort quite quickly after that. She looked at me with another one of her wonderful smiles before talking.
"Thank you very much good sir. How might I repay you for your actions?" She seemed to pick up on my little outburst of gentleman's attitude, and had decided to play along with the attitude of a proper lady. I gave a grin at our antics before continuing with it.
"Well perhaps a token of affection from the good lady will suffice." She cutely giggled before giving me my answer. That answer happened to be a small kiss on my cheek. Putting a hand to that spot I continued talking dropping the little act. "Yeah I think that'll do it." She giggled again before resting her head on my chest. Embarrassed a bit I scratched my left cheek while putting my arm around her. In the end though I rested my head on hers and we stayed like that. However I also ended up kissing her head through her hair which made both of us quite red.
Well at least more so than when she kissed me. We both looked at each other and laughed at our faces. After which we both went back to our previous positions. The two of us were so new to all of this that we couldn't help but laugh at our own embarrassment.
That was when I felt a few familiar energy signatures. They belonged to the rest of our group. I even felt Shirone, which was strange because I didn't think she was one to spy on our date. Maybe someone else's but not ours. Looking up I was curious to see no one despite feeling everyone. Thinking of why I could be feeling their presences I put my coat a bit into the aisle. I wanted to see if they were actually there, or if they were using some kind of scrying spell. Yukari was a witch so I knew they had options for their spying venture.
After a few moments I heard quiet steps. They were slow and small but I was still able to hear them thanks to my enhanced hearing. Plus I had no choice by to develop careful hearing thanks to my time in Yharnam. And after a few more moments I heard the steps pass by our seats. I also happened to feel something brush up against my coat. I mentally sighed along with my other tenants.
Well it seems like the others decided to follow us. Why aren't I surprised? I was answered by Kusanagi who giggled.
'Hehe, It seems so. The wonders of having teenaged friends.~ Though I must wonder on why little Shirone Chan joined them?' Her questions were answered by my darker half.
More than likely the others put her up to this. We'll have to talk to them later about corrupting her. Doesn't help that Yukari is only a few years older than her. The girl must also be why they're invisible. I mean she is a witch, hazard a guess that she whipped up some spell or potion. We both had to agree with her assessment. Though I had the distinct feeling that it was mostly Kurumu and Yukari that put everyone up to this. But that didn't mean I wasn't going to give them all a stern talking to later for this. However I didn't want to bring up any unnecessary tension on me and Mizore's date so I didn't say anything.
Although I had a feeling Mizore also knew they were there, but didn't say anything for the same reasons. Now that didn't mean that it'd stop me from messing with them. I even had the perfect way to do it to. Grinning a bit I pulled out a singular bullet. Although this one was a blank so no harm would be done if it went off. Mizore looked over at me and saw what I was about to do.
She only smiled and nodded her head. Smiling back I used my senses to locate the only male in the group and threw the bullet overhead behind me. I was successful, although Tsukune did a good job at not making any sounds when the blank hit his head. However both me and Mizore laughed quietly at that, especially when they all yelped when it went off. Eventually the bus arrived at our stop and we got off. As we left the driver talked to us.
"Remember now I'll be back here at seven, so make sure to be back here by then." I nodded my head before speaking.
"Thanks but that won't really be necessary, since we'll probably use my own transporting abilities to get back to school." It then leaned in and whispered a bit. "The others though will definitely need ya."
He nodded at that. "Yeah I get ya, I'll make sure they drive them all back. Especially when they realize they can't follow you anymore." The three of us shared a laugh before me and Mizore turned and walked towards the mall.
Hello this is this chapter's line break calling. And I want my money back!
As we exited the bus I could hear the others scrambling to get off before the bus left. Apparently despite my little bullet trick they still wanted to follow us. Makes me wonder what they were thinking.
More than likely they believe it was an accident since you didn't say anything to them after it. The other voice in my head seemed to agree with that statement.
'Yes well Shirone probably has already figured out that we know they're following us. She's more than likely trying to make sure they don't try anything." I mentally agreed with her and went back to focusing on what I was doing. And that was trying to see where Mizore would like to have lunch for the day.
So rubbing my hands together I started that little conversation. "So… Is there anywhere you'd like to eat today? Don't worry about the price everything's on me." She adopted a thoughtful look on her face as she looked around. Since it was a mall there were actually quite a few different places to choose from. Personally as long as she didn't choose WacDonald's I'd be just fine. Though if she did I would grin and bear it.
My thoughts paused when I glanced over that particular store. In all honesty I find the strange parallel between WacDonald's and Macdonald's rather disturbing. Sometimes I just had to wonder about dimensions paralleled to my own. Thankfully we ended up eating at another burger place that actually turned out to not be so bad. Since Mizore pretty much knew everything about me already. Or at least everything I could remember we ended up talking about her family and home.
She talked about her mother Tsurara, and the antics she got up to in order get Mizore a boyfriend. I couldn't help but laugh at some of the things her mother had tried. Unfortunately this is where things turned a bit sour. Because of the two of us talking and just enjoying each other's company. I wasn't able to notice someone with a dark aura approach us. I only noticed when he was right next to our table. When he spoke his voice was gruff and serious, yet I could hear a familiar hint of insanity.
"Voidwalker…" That caught my attention rather quickly and both me and Mizore turned to him. All though my eyes grew wide in surprise as I saw a large Black Hand gun pointed at me. Needless to say I acted quickly and made my chair fall to the side with me on it. The sound of a gunshot sounded throughout the area as he fired and barely missed me.
The bullet made a decent sized hole in the wall. As for me I rolled backwards when the chair hit the floor, and quickly got to my feet while throwing the chair at him with my right arm. At the same time I quickly took out a gun with my left hand and fired at him. At the same time I angled my gun to make sure it didn't hit anyone if I missed. He took out a twin pistol of his other gun and fired at the chair obliterating it while also dodging my shot.
Mizore yelled out to me in concern. "HUNTER! Are you alright?!"
I groaned before answering her, the fall did kind of hurt. "Yeah worry I'm fine he missed the shot." I heard her sigh in relief as I turned my attention to my attacker while narrowing my eyes. I was finally able to take in my opponent's appearance. Over his head was a bunch of loose grey colored cloth that acted as a hood he also wore a brown cowboy hat on top of his head. His actual face however was covered in white bandages with a metal eyepatch attached right over his left eye. His right eye though was yellow with black sclera.
He also wore a brown vest with a grey long sleeved shirt underneath. A shirt that looked I guessed must've looked white at one point, but was now brownish red from dried blood. On his feet were grey combat boots, and he also wore brown pants. He also had brown full gloves, and over everything was a grey trench coat that went down to his feet. Looking at his guns I scowled when I saw that they were both customized hand cannons. However from the damage just one bullet caused, I knew he didn't use regular bullets.
I should know since I too didn't use regular bullets, though I also knew they weren't the quicksilver bullets I use. I continued to scowl at him, observing him with minimal success. His choice of clothing didn't help me in trying to see how he moves. It was a similar tactic that I always employed, although it wasn't nearly as effective as the way this guy did it.
Having finished my observations I spoke to him with a low voice. "So who might I have the un-pleasure of meeting today? And I hope for your sake that you're here for a good reason. I am not appreciating how you just ruined my date before it could actually even start. Though I'm sure the others here feel the same." Hey what I said was true everyone in the restaurant were looking at us with wary eyes and huddling close to the walls.
The man finally spoke up after grunting in agreement. "Yes well for that I'm sorry but I have a job to do and I will do it. However once my lord asks me to do something, I try to finish the job as quickly as possible. Even more so in this case because my lord has been wary of you since finding out you exist."
I raised an eyebrow at that while continuing to question him. "What do you mean he's wary of me? I doubt I've done anything to warrant a hit out on my head." They were fair questions, yet he laughed at me before speaking again.
"Hahaha! Well Voidwalker you see the very concept of your existence is worrisome. My lord has never liked anything that could prove a future threat in his eyes. And since you just ruined one of his plans he wants you gone."
My eyes widened when he told me this. "Future threats? And what do you mean ruining a plan recently?" Looking at me he simply smirked.
"I'm afraid that I don't feel like answering your questions." I couldn't help but grab my other pistol at his words. "I see you understand how this will be going down. Such a nice change of pace that is. Most of the time people would continue to question me. But you? You already know I won't tell you anything else. Makes this job a lot less annoying."
As I started readying myself for battle I couldn't help but agree with him. "I think I get what you're saying. I can only imagine how that could grate on one's nerves after a while. Doesn't mean I can't help but ask if you can leave my friends alone." Upon hearing how I put emphasis on friends, the others finally revealed themselves. Kurumu in particular seemed the most sheepish out of the bunch.
"Hehe… So you knew we were here the whole time eh?"
I just shook my head at her seeing how she didn't notice the current atmosphere. "Yes we knew you were there since the bus. Why do you think I threw a blank bullet at Tsukune?"
Tsukune gaped at me when I said that. "Wait you mean you did that on purpose?! That hurt! And scared the crap out of me!"
I just shrugged at him before talking back. "That's what you get for stalking us on our date and also bringing Shirone into this." At that Shirone looked at us apologetically.
"Sorry Onii Chan but they talked me into this." You know… sometimes she's too cute for her own good.
There is no way I could ever bring myself to be upset with her.
'That's not a good attitude to have when raising children… but doesn't mean I can't agree.'
Agreeing with the both of them I gave Shirone a small smile. "Don't worry I already knew that. I'll make sure to punish them latter as for now…" I trailed off as I looked back to my attacker before speaking again. "I need everyone to get away from here and leave this guy to me. And before anyone protests know that this guy is on a whole different level than all of you. I'm sorry but you'd all just get in my way." I turned towards Mizore before smiling and speaking again. "Sorry about this Mizore. It seems like our date was ruined. Can I ask you to take care of Shirone while I deal with this guy?"
She looked at me worriedly before slowly nodding her head. "Alright but please! Just be careful will you? I don't want to lose you…" I smiled at her while nodding. That was when she ran to the others and took Shirone's hand. They all nodded to each other before looking back to me.
Moka yelled out to me first. "Be careful alright?!"
Tsukune yelled out secondly. "Yeah you still have a job to do!"
Kurumu was third. "Yeah! Besides things would be boring without ya!"
Yukari pointed a finger at me. "It would be pathetic if the only other magic user in my grade died! So DON'T do that!"
Shirone then yelled out to me with worry. "Please just be careful Onii Chan!" Still as cute as ever, this in turn just made me feel guilty for worrying her.
Finally Mizore Yelled to me. "Make sure to come back safely okay!"
I just nodded my head before yelling back. "Don't worry I don't plan on dying here today." With that everyone ran out of the place even the other people in the restaurant. My face then grew serious again while turning towards the gunman. "Well I must say you're quite chivalrous. You had plenty of opportunity to attack me during the little heartfelt scene. So why didn't you?"
He chuckled before answering me. "That's simple, you see I believe in allowing my targets to say goodbye to anyone they care about. At least if they can say goodbye that is. If not I allow them to write a letter, a short letter but a letter nonetheless. I also believe on giving my name to the one I'm about to kill. Consider all of these things my own moral code if you will."
I gave him a small smile at that. "Well at least you're honorable. Speaking of introductions, though I know you already know this. I'm Hunter Infinium a Voidwalker. Now then, who do I have the pleasure of facing today?"
The man aimed his guns at me while I did the same as he answered me. "My name is Shizu Gun-meister an Abysswalker." My eyes widened when he said that. And instantly I knew I was in some pretty hot water. Like a Voidwalker an Abysswalker uses the powers given to them by their benefactors. Only an Abysswalker was made naturally stronger than a Voidwalker. Mainly because they were used as servants instead of entertainment, as such they had more powers and much greater strength. Though I didn't know the direct amount of power given to them since it all depended on their benefactor.
Taking a breath I calmed myself waiting to see if he would move first. Seeing a slight twitch of his trigger finger I ran left, dodging the shots he let out in my direction. I quickly returned fire which he dodged by running to the right. The gunfight was one, and everyone around us were now running out in panic.
So much for my Saturday…
Hello this is this chapter's line break calling. And I want my money back!
Running behind a table Shizu kicked it so it was on its side before kicking it again sending it at me. I summersaulted over it as it broke through a window behind me. I grimaced at the amount of damage we were causing. I already knew that I'd have to pay for any damages. At that he opened fire on me again.
That's if I survive that IS! Quickly blinking behind the stores front counter to avoid the shots I took aim and fired again. However he made a roll to the left and fired upon my position. I ducked behind the counter so he wouldn't have a clear shot. However that proved to be a moot point as his bullets just went right through it! I had to dodge them while I couldn't see where he was aiming. Taking a chance I put my right arm on the counter and used it to hoist myself over it while firing at Shizu.
He ran to the left to avoid my shots and quickly reloaded his pistols. He then opened fire on me once again. I scowled as he took advantage of me having to reload and ran in the opposite direction. I stopped as he had to reload again. I counted that he had five shots in each gun. I couldn't help but smirk at his lower ammunition count. Thinking on how to take advantage of this, I put away my right pistol while firing with my left. He avoided my shots as I made it up right in front of him. Quickly I created a long ice spike in my right hand and went in to stab him. However he surprised me as he avoided it by stepping to the side.
He then kicked me hard enough to send me flying through the last still un-broken window. Which was then promptly broken by my back. When outside I righted myself mid-flight and used my right hand to slow down my momentum. The guy was strong as well as fast. Not only was he able to keep up with my speed but he was able to send me flying. Plus his gun skills were as good as mine. I looked around me to see a bunch of people whispering about what was happening.
I scowled before yelling at them. "I suggest you all run away if you know what's good for you!" However since they were monsters they really didn't take me seriously and laughed. That was until Shizu started firing more bullets at me, then everyone panicked and ran away. Personally I always knew guns were an effective way to get people to move. It even got me moving! Although I was mostly dodging bullets and trying to find some cover. Running behind a wall I tried to calm my breathing while reloading. This guy certainly wasn't a pushover. Even Kusanagi and my darker half agreed on that.
Peering around the corner I had to quickly duck back behind cover as Shizu fired on me again. I growled at this because apparently he wasn't about to let up on me. Truly his deserved the name of gun-meister. I was also right on sending everyone away. Didn't help that they all looked to be moving in slow motion to me right now. Although I knew to everyone else we were a blur. In fact it was only thanks to our speed that we hadn't put holes in each other yet.
Shaking my head I observed more of my surroundings and to the left as I saw the railing. The restaurant was on the second level of the mall. I decided to use this to my advantage. Taking a chance I ran out from behind the wall while firing at him. My shots missed him as he rolled forward. However that was when I jumped off the railing. He followed me and I quickly shot at him when I touched the ground.
His visible eye winced as one of my shots grazed his left shoulder. However it didn't stop him as he quickly opened fire on my position. Even though I jumped back his bullets made a hole in the floor beneath me as the original holes expanded. I quickly fell in; landing on my feet I looked around to see that I was in some sort of storage area. The place was filled with boxes, crates, and shelves and although this provided plenty of cover… It also provided cover for Shizu, and also would increase the amount of costs in damages. I groaned at that thought, but I turned serious again when Shizu dropped down a few meters away from me. As he landed I tried to take a small break and asked him a few things.
"You know... I've never faced someone as skilled with guns as myself before. Begs the question as to why you're working with someone who has you kill random people."
He snorted at me before answering. "I see what you're doing, and although I do love small talk. I personally don't like it on a mission. Besides I know you're still waiting for me to let something slip. Why else wouldn't you use any of your other abilities? True you've used your ice and blink ability a bit but… You've haven't used them excessively. Unfortunately for you I won't be going easy on you from here on out." I scowled at his because well… He was pretty much right on the money with that statement. Usually by now the enemy would be bragging or taunting me about the "rightness" of their cause.
He laughed at the face I made. "Well judging by that face I was quite correct! But I'll only tell you if I'm on deaths door!" He paused for a breath before starting to speak again. "You know I believe it's time to show you why I'm called the Gun-meister." When he said that his pistols disappeared, this confused me until I saw a black shoulder mounted machine gun appear on his right.
Really there was only one thing I could say. "Ah crap…" He started laughing while firing at me. I blinked in order to get away from the line of fire, as dozens of bullets flew at my previous position. The situation just became worse. However I was never one to give up in the middle of a fight, so I kept blinking out of the way. And eventually I made him lose track of my position. Peering around the large stack of boxes I was hiding behind, I saw him switch his mounted gun for two Gatling guns. In other words two large guns in two different hands, I couldn't help but sigh at my predicament. Thinking I decided to ask Kusanagi and my darker half on what to do.
So ladies… any ideas on how to get out of this situation? Kusanagi answered me first.
'Well if you had me I would suggest getting up close to him to limit his fire but…' I understood what she meant and finished for her.
But as of right now I don't have you and even if I did he has some close combat skills of his own. But this long range strategy isn't working either. The royal sentient sword agreed with that statement, that's when the other one spoke up.
Well I guess you don't have a choice then. He's revealed his abilities, so I think it's time for you to do the same. I sighed but agreed with her statement anyway.
Yeah I guess, but I really don't want to. We haven't even gotten out of him the name of his employer. Oh well here goes nothing. With that said I jumped out of cover and immediately created a thick wall of ice in front of me, as to block incoming fire. However I left a small hole so I could return it.
The strategy worked to block the incoming attack until… He swapped out his weapons for a rocket launcher, a Javelin to be precise. I quickly blinked over to the top of a tall shelf in order to dodge the rocket. While up there I both fired my gun and launched black lightning at him. He started back flipping out of the way until he was backed up against a pile of crates. However he proved to be not trapped as he jumped up onto the crates and fired his rocket at me again.
Using my lightning I shot it causing an explosion that obscured my vision. As I tried to peer through it Shizu jumped through the smoke caused by the explosion. He had re-equipped his pistols and was right in front of me. Eyes widening I wasn't able to blink out of the way, so I dropped down instead. However as he fired his guns at me one of the bullets went through my right shoulder. I yelled out in pain as I gripped it to try to at least dull the pain. However it was for naught as I now had a huge hole there. Luckily it didn't hit anything vital but I was losing quite a bit of blood. Quickly thinking I got out a blood vial and directly injected it into the wound. However to my shock it wasn't healing.
That was when Shizu started talking again. "Sorry but that won't really work." I turned towards him my face twisted in pain and anger. However he ignored it to continue talking. "You see the bullets I use are called Dark maker bullets. They're made to be as strong as quick silver bullets. However! Dark maker bullets have the added bonus of making it so wounds can only heal as fast as a human. In other words no healing magic, items, herbs, or even healing factor will speed up the healing process. It'll heal as slow as human wounds. Sure you can wrap it up and stop the bleeding but… it'll still take a while for it to heal. As such advantage me."
I grit my teeth after he told me this. This just meant I had to be even more careful than before. I knew I wouldn't be able to take too many hits from something like that. Unfortunately this still meant that with that last hit, my right arm had become quite useless. So standing up straight and letting my arm hang uselessly I started firing on him again. He jumped back while switching to what looked like a lever action rifle.
Quickly running while holding my shoulder I ran behind cover as he opened fire. Making an ice wall I kept running and made another while slipping away to the top of some crates. He quickly destroyed the ice walls to find me gone. He lowered his rifle and switched to his pistols again. Then he slowly walked forward completely missing my location.
It was lucky for me that the place was pretty dark, or else he would've been able to follow my blood trail. As he moved past my position I sighed and started breathing hard. I then used the opportunity to reload. You see without my right arm I could no longer quickly reload my weapon. All that stuff in games where someone reloads a revolver with one hand. Well… that stuff doesn't really happen in real life unless they have tons of practice.
And well as for me I haven't really practiced all that much. Even when I could use both pistols I was always using both hands to reload both. Sighing I started to plan out my attack. That was when he jumped up to where I was and started shooting. Surprised I almost didn't manage to roll out of the way in time.
Unfortunately a bullet grazed my left thigh. Luckily it wasn't too bad and I was able to return fire. This time I channeled some lightning magic into my pistol. Then finally one of my shots hit their mark as well. As in Shizu's right arm, this made him drop his guns as bolts of electricity flowed throughout his body.
He quickly cried out in pain. However I didn't stop there as I was one to not let up on attacks. So taking advantage of his pain I continued to fire on him. Each bullet hit him and caused even more electricity to attack his body. However I still needed to reload and when I did so he managed to stand up and fire at me. Although his right arm was as useless as mine so he was only able to fire his left pistol. With that he was able to shoot my new pistol out of my left hand. Scowling as it bounced across the floor making clacking sounds… I turned to him and put wind, lightning, and ice into one single spike threw it at him.
Unable to dodge because of the electricity numbing his legs the spike tore through his chest. It didn't kill him but he fell onto his back clutching the wound as blood poured out. Breathing hard I quickly picked up my gun and walked towards him. When I was over him I kneeled down and brought my gun close to his face. I aimed directly at his forehead, a place that would definitely kill him. However I hesitated, I still had some questions that I needed answered and so held back on finishing him.
Trying to speak through the pain from my wounds I started the interrogation. "Well it seems as though you're on death door now doesn't it?" He growled at me since I was using his words against him but I still continued. "So tell me Abysswalker who's this "lord" of yours?" He sighed as he knew he was beaten.
After a few seconds he started talking. "I won't tell you everything but know this… My lord lives in another dimension, in that dimensions version of New York; he also wears all red and carries a large sword with a skeleton crossguard. He also has white hair and blue eyes. But that's all I'm telling you." I sighed because of the vague information but I still had to give him credit. At least he was completely loyal, that is something that's hard to find now a days.
Deciding to end this I thanked him. "Despite how that wasn't everything I would like to know, thank you for at least telling me that. Now then I think it's time for you to say goodbye." Shizu starting laughing at that and I narrowed my eyes at him. "What are you…" I never finished as he opened up his coat revealing a multitude of explosives. "SHIT!" Cursing in frustration, I jumped back as far as I could as I saw him take out a trigger and press the button.
With an audible click all the explosives went off. This threw me back quite a ways away and through quite a number of crates and shelves. Eventually I hit a wall hard enough to make a crater in it. Knocking the wind out of me and making me slump against it. I knew at this point I was heavily damaged. I couldn't even move a finger. I could tell Kusanagi and my dark half were yelling out to me, but I couldn't tell what they were saying.
The last thing I saw before losing consciousness was Mizore running up to me. Apparently she heard the explosion and came to check on me. And though I could see her mouth moving I couldn't hear anything. Then everything went black as I fell unconscious.

Story Omake: One
The adventures of Shirone Infinium
Part one
(This is an alternate non-canon series of shorts that take place a few years in the future. Note that this will have no impact on the actual story. These will be at least 700 and at most 1200 words. So without further ado let's start.)
Point of view Shirone
I sighed as I sat in one of the mansion chairs reading a book. In all honesty I was actually rather impatient today. You see today my Onii Chan is finally letting me try out my dimensional traveling skills. We would've done this earlier but the last decade were quite hectic.
We've finally been able to teach me how to do it. And as a test run I'll be going back to my original world. I was slightly nervous about this but I needed to go back. There are some things I need to do after all. Onii Chan offered to come with me but I told him I needed to do this alone. I can see that this worries him greatly but he allowed me to do this anyway. On the condition that I carry a communicator much like his phone. This is what I'm currently waiting on actually.
Turning another page I heard him approach with the phone. He was wearing what he usually wears now. As in black slacks, white shirt and black vest, black dress shoes and a navy blue trench coat. The coat went about four inches past his knees. I myself was wearing a two tailed white coat. It had also had six white buttons going down the front.
They were spaced out by two and a half inches each. The top two were unbuttoned so it was more comfortable. Underneath I wore a white long sleeved shirt. I also had on a black skirt that went about an inch above my knees. I also was wearing black tights and white combat boots. On my hands were my sister's gloves which were resized to fit me after I grew out of them a bit ago. Much to my chargen however I'm still short.
My brother interrupted my thoughts on my height when he spoke up to me. "Well here it is your own personal inter-dimensional phone." I took it gratefully out of his hands as I stood up. The phone was a slim flip phone colored pink with a black cat figure on the front.
"Thanks Onii Chan. Well I better be off then I'll make sure to call every week to tell you I'm fine." He nodded his head at me and we gave each other a quick hug before I left to go outside. Looking around I took a deep breath before channeling my inner energies.
As a sign of trust Onii Chan wasn't going to watch me do this. It was kind of scary but also nice since it means he was willing to trust me with this. After a bit I activated the spell and a white vortex appeared in front of me. I mentally jumped for joy since this meant I was successful. So picking up my travel bag I took one last breath before walking in. It closed up behind as I looked behind myself. Looking forward I started walking.
If I was completely honest with myself this was actually rather nerve wracking. It was the first time I did anything like this by myself. But I was determined to get through this. I stopped however when I heard someone snicker. Letting out my senses and looking around I saw… No one. Setting my bag down and slapping my face a bit with both hands I sighed. Apparently my nervousness was getting the better of me.
I then once again picked up my bag over my shoulder and kept walking. After a bit of walking in the endless white tunnel I saw a light up ahead. I recognized this as my stop and I quickly picked up the pace and ran towards it. Hopefully when I appeared no one would be around to see me walk out of a portal. That'd be both awkward and kind of panic inducing.
However what was panic inducing was what happened after I stepped through the exit. I suddenly found myself weightless and I began to fall. Looking down I noticed I was actually in the air and was falling towards the ground. In reality there wasn't really anything I could do and so I just prayed that I wouldn't make a hole through the roof.
I knew that I would survive the fall. I just hoped I wouldn't break through the roof and scare everyone inside the building. Luckily I wasn't too high up so when I landed on the roof all I did was make some cracks. Sighing in relief I jumped off the roof after making sure no one was around. At the moment I knew I was in the correct world but I currently didn't know exactly where I was.
But by looking around I could tell I was in Japan somewhere. It took me a bit but I finally found a sign that told me where I was.
"Kuoh huh?" I read the sign out loud. Clenching my right fist I spoke out loud with determination. "Alright then! It's time for me to get to work!" Though saying that I quickly slumped because… I truly had no idea on how to start. However I perked up in confusion when someone started talking to me. Although they must have mistaken me for someone else.
"Koneko? What are you doing here?"
"Huh?" Confused I turned around to see who was talking to me. I turned around to see a brown haired high school boy with a blond haired nun next to him. "Umm who's Koneko?" He looked at me confused, and that's when I heard the same chuckling from before in my head. My eye twitched as I recognized it. It then spoke to me in my mind.
"Well now make sure to have fun dearie! And also eat a lot of cheese!" Yep Apparently Sheogorath messed with my teleportation. Now I had no idea where I actually was and what would happen. However I was still determined and I wasn't going to let that mad god just get away with this! I'd play his games for now but I would get him back for this. So looking back towards the two who were now staring at me I decided to start with them. After all the brown haired one called me Koneko after all.
Hello this is this chapter's line break calling. And I want my money back!
Slayer: And that's the end of the new and improved chapter! I hope you all liked it.
Argentum: Personally I liked how it wasn't as info heavy, never made sense on why Shizu told you everything he did.
Shadow: That's something we can agree on.
Slayer: Well it's been… I don't know five six years since I've wrote this chapter? I've had some time to improve on things, like I got rid of that whole asauchi sub plot. Don't know why I wrote that in, never liked it myself.
Argentum: Well as they say hindsight is twenty twenty.
Slayer: Yeah… well not much else to discuss here. So how about you finish the chapter off as our guest?
Argentum: Why not? Ahem… this has been a Dark Guard production now signing off!
Everyone: Goodbye!
