Hey guys! I'm back and I'm planning to finish this time. We are almost on the middle of my drabbles, so...
Also, this little plot about Maria and her father is kind of finished here, so now, we can have more drabbles focused on Dteve and Maria.
Hope you enjoy it!
The house is really big, actually. But she's going to sell it. And even Tony offers her some help to find people who might be interested.
Steve asks if she's sure about her decision. She grew up here, but Maria can't bear the idea of going back to a place full of over all, bad memories.
She reads the letter, out of curiosity, and also because Steve thinks it will help her. "Maria, you need clousure."
"Maria, my dear...
(Well, what a hypocrital way to start)
"...you deserve this place. Your mother would have want you to own it. To start your own family."
She wipes some tears with her hands.
"...I am sorry. I'm sorry I didn't give you the home you deserved. I know now my resentment and my sour heart hurt you in so many ways. I don't deserve your forgiveness, I don't deserve your pity, but I want you to know that I am proud. I'm proud of the woman you have become. Always was, always will. Promise me you will be happy. Keep me in the past, forget me, keep going without me. They say home is where your heart is. Find something that is worth the value of your heart. And allow yourself to be happy..."
Maria suddenly can't stop crying. Sitting in her couch, the tears running freely in her cheeks. Years and years of carrying pain, deception, sadness...
She breathes and calms herself. No, she won't forgive him. At least, not now. It's not that easy. But she can let go the past, and start something new. Something better. Something worth it.
Suddenly Steve walks in the room holding the things Maria kept from the house.
"Where do you want me to put this?"
Steve notices the red eyes. "Are you okay?"
There's worry on his eyes, also love.
"Yes. I am now."
After years of walking alone, she finds home really is where your heart is. Her heart is in the hands of a soldier from Brooklyn.
