Chapter 10: This is More Complicated than I Thought

Dream Starts

" Hello, Ale", said the indigenous man.

I looked and I was at the same place that I spoke to the night before. I said, "Many things are different from what I thought I knew about this world."

He nodded knowingly, "Yes, and I assume you probably guessed who we have been referring to, haven't you?"

I looked at him uncomfortably and said, "Yeah..Stephanie Meyers (A/N: I don't hate her or have anything against her, but for the sake of this story, she will be an antagonist). Many things were not included in the series, almost purposely omitted and some have been changed."

He nodded solemnly, "What have you found so far?"

I said, "One, the shapeshifters' age are more older than from the books. It is as if Meyers wanted to hammer it down of how unfortunate the individuals in the reservation are because of how young they phased into a wolf, and the tragedies that they went through... It feels like it was done to add more angst and tragedy to them, but at the same time, she didn't invest enough time to flesh out the individuals in the reservation in order to keep our focus in Bella and Edward. It is like she gave us a taste, but refuse to give us the whole thing which makes me feel like we have been manipulated, and they were manipulated to show how much Bella is better off with Edward than being part of their community…It feels a bit racist of her because of her huge favoritism to the pale-faces, the only dark-skinned vampire was killed off in the series, and how they had a better life than those in the reservation even though she keep reminding us of how Bella doesn't care for fortune.."

I jumped when I saw that the indigenous man's image started flickering back and forth to a white wolf and his human wolf until it stayed the white wolf form. I still hear his voice, but it sounded more animalistic. He said growling, "Yes. It disgusts me how she treated my people. We are enraged of how she represented them. We sent her to our world to advocate my world to other worlds, but instead she wrote my world to your timeline as a method to gain quick fame and fortune."

I chimed in hesitantly to not anger him, "Yes.. Even though a stereotype exists because there is some truth to it and it came from somewhere, it doesn't mean that is how it actually is for everyone…No matter what the situation is, you don't make a profit off of someone else's culture for your own personal gain.. "

His wolf's tail wagging left and right angrily as he said "Yes. You are perceptive. Tell me more, because it is essential that you recognize what she went wrong".

I swallowed I continued, "Another that I notice is the Quileute's struggle with being one with their wolf was omitted. It feels like it was to make the shapeshifters dangerous to be around with indefinitely through Sam's case with Emily. His wolf knew but due to Sam's inexperience a new wolf and conflict with the wolf, the tragedy happened. Then, I can infer that it was omitted to avoid Jacob's role to become the rightful Alpha, and to keep Jacob chasing after Bella even though it was harming his oneness with his wolf…Which means…He wasn't meant to imprint Renesmee wasn't he? This also feels like Meyers did that to keep Jacob close to Bella so that those who were rooting for Bella to be with Jacob through the whole Team Edward versus Team Jacob debate, to be 'satisfied'. It is like how she sloppily concluded the saga, she tried to satisfy everyone, but it technically made no one happy instead, just frustrated. Ugh, I can't believe we were manipulated again through her story-telling."

The man's form flickered back to his human form, and he spoke sadly, "Yes..He wasn't meant to imprint on Renesmee. We tried to help Jacob to come back to the right path to become the rightful alpha and let go the possessive attachment to Bella that Meyers placed in him when she first wrote about Jacob as a character. Jacob genuinely cared for Bella and had a crush of her, but once he became a wolf, Meyers manipulated it as a possessive desire. We heard your questions in your mind of what happens to Jacob when he disappeared for few weeks after Eclipse. We tried to help him to get back on track during that time of 'trying to let go of Bella', but because he kept refusing the wolf spirit and the title of the rightful alpha, his hold to Bella became even stronger. It only infuriated the wolf to the point that the wolf spirit simply shut down. Jacob was permanently detached to the wolf spirit, however he couldn't return to how he used to be before the transformation. Without the wolf spirit he couldn't return to how he used to be, he became permanently unbalanced so how he was written in Eclipse became permanent. That is why he still lashed out to Bella in her wedding despite of disappearing for weeks to 'let her go and move on from her'. We tried again when he departed from Sam's pack to do the right thing, but it was out of force and he didn't willingly accept the Alpha position. He merely became a lone Alpha wolf, so he was still detached to the wolf spirit. The wolf spirit enraged for his constant mistreatment, and Meyers knew that, so she took advantage of the situation and gave power to the wolf spirit for the wolf spirit in rage to force an imprint on Renesmee as punishment.."

I stood there speechless from what I have been told. It made so much sense. Imprinting really was punishment because his heritage and wolf spirit that he kept denying, he was able to be 'free', more like running away but at a cost. He won't be able to return to his home at the Reservation because the Cullens would have to keep moving to protect their identity as they don't age, and since he won't be dying as Renesmee live a long life too, he would have to keep moving to protect his identity as well. . He would be forced to watch his pack brothers and his family die as he won't be able to die and go to the Quileute's spirit world. I thought Jacob was unfortunate, but this is a whole new level.

My silence spoke volumes as He continues, "Even though Meyers is majorly at fault of how she handled Jacob, it was still Jacob's choice to continue to follow that desire from Meyers and keep denying his wolf spirit with his stubbornness. However, the wolf spirit came to regret that decision because as long as Jacob's alive, the wolf spirit won't be able to return to the spirit world either. It is Jacob who would need to let go of the wolf spirit because it was Taha Aki who initiated the spirit warriors to become a shapeshifting wolf not the wolf spirit, so it is up to the Quileutes to let the wolf spirit go. Many of them don't know this since over time, this knowledge has been forgotten. Nevertheless, Jacob and the wolf spirit are always connected regardless how detached they had become. Jacob could have set the wolf spirit free if he had willingly gone on a spirit walk and come in truce with the wolf spirit in order to be free from the responsibility to become the rightful alpha as a descendant of Ephraim Black. Thus, we truly regretted allowing Meyers to tell my world's story. With her power, she changed so so many things and left my world in dismay just for cheap profit. We couldn't take the power that she had because it is when she is finished with writing my world's story, we are able to intervene. Even though the original timeline from how she wrote my world is set in books in your timeline, by sending you back in time you can correct the mistakes that she made. Then the timeline in the books will be altered without people noticing from your timeline. From the new timeline created by your intervention, we can spread it to other worlds and timelines. Your presence alone, it is already changing what was set to come according to Meyers, so a new 'original' timeline will be made or at least will be fixed as much we possibly can."

I asked, "Why is it so important for this world's story to be told to others, and why do I have that much power?"

He smiled, "You'll know in due time, and for the second question, see it for yourself as you continue to live in this world. Then, you'll understand."

I said slightly frustrated, "Okay. How do we know Meyers won't be aware of the changes that has being made in the series by my presence in the books and stop things from changing?"

He said, "Her power had a time limit, and it was only used one time. Once she concluded Breaking Dawn, there was no way for her to intervene again."

I said, "Ohh, I see. Then, why was I imprinted by Paul? I don't hate Paul. I really like him. He is very charming. But, wasn't Rachel supposed to be Paul's imprint? I just keep feeling that I stole her imprint.."

He said in a matter of fact, "Well, what did you remember from the books?"

I said, "..I know Jacob was upset that Paul imprinted on her. It probably him being a little brother getting uncomfortable of his older sister getting together with someone he knows…Rachel left her family behind and didn't come back until she had to in the summer. She didn't help Jacob, and left Jacob to handle his father by himself."

He hummed in agreement, and said, "knowing the type of person she is, what did you think had happened that Meyers didn't show in the books?"

I thought about it, and said "Rachel wasn't happy with the imprint.. She tried to leave behind the reservation by going to college, but then she was forced to stay in the reservation due to the imprint..so..Even though Paul tried to please his imprint, he couldn't make her happy , huh?"

He nodded sadly, "Yes..she blames Paul for unable to leave the reservation, so they weren't happy in the end. Also, Meyers paired them together once again to make my people look pathetic." He growled at the last part.

Wow. This is such a huge mess…This is bigger than I thought..To be honest, it is a bit overwhelming. How do I go from here? Also, the more I discover this mystery, the farther my chance returning to home becomes..

Knowing my thoughts, he said smiling softly, "Like we have told you before. All you need to do is be yourself, and things will fall to place accordingly. The universe and I trust you that you'll do well. Have confidence in yourself. We placed you with Paul because we know you two will complement each other. Paul's wolf spirit was foretold by us of who he would be imprinted by according to Meyer's selection for him, and we gave him a choice whether he wanted you or not. Because of whom you are, that is why Paul's wolf spirit is so interested in you, so he chose you. There is more to you than you know, but you'll come to understand very soon. This is also the reason Sam and Jacob's wolf spirits recognized you and became protective of you. Because Paul's wolf spirit was also given a choice, how much more he values you. You are truly the perfect mate for him. That is why he couldn't settle for less. He wanted to mate with you. Of course, it will take a while for Paul himself to realize how the wolf spirit truly feels about you due to his lack of experience, but Paul himself accepts you too like he has said last night."

I was astonished, amazed by what he said. I felt moved even honored to be chosen to be one of his people's imprint.

He smiled heartwarmingly from my thoughts, so he said, "Well, its time for you to go back to our world. It will be a while since you'll see us next. Someone is at the door waiting for you. Take care, Ale."

I said, "Wait! I still have so many questions and more to discuss. Who are you?" until the last thing I heard was his laughter.

Dream Ends

I woke up abruptly when I heard someone was calling for my name. I looked around in confusion. I saw that I was the only one left in the bed, and there was a note placed by the nightstand. I grabbed it, and it read

Hey,

I washed the clothes that the Cullens gave you and put them back in your backpack. I couldn't handle smelling it this morning. Emily will pass by to take you to her place while we go to the battle. Sorry, I feel safe if you go with her.

Paul

I heard again someone calling me, so I scrambled to my feet, pulled my hair in a low messy bun, holding onto the note, and ran to the door. I opened the door quickly, and stood there was Emily.

"Good Morning! Paul asked me to take you to stay with us, so you won't be left alone. Some of the elders and Kim are back at my place waiting to meet you. Sam was able to get an audience with Old Quil for you, and Old Quil is with Chief Billy at my house. I was the only one able to come and pick you up since I am the imprint of the alpha. If we all met here, Paul's wolf wouldn't be pleased with the scent of other people in his den, uh, home as a newly imprinted wolf," Emily spoke shyly.

I looked at confusingly of why she was being shy in front of me, then I remembered that I am wearing Paul's oversized crew shirt and shorts. I blinked and said embarrassed, "Yeah, sure. Let me go get changed, and I meet you back in the front porch."

She nodded with a genuine smile despite of the permanent grimace on her face due to the scars. I smiled back softly as I went back to the bedroom. I saw that Paul left the backpack the nightstand. I looked through the backpack to see what spare of clothes that Alice left me. She left me a pair of light-blue jeans with a green blouse with no sleeves. I tried to fix my hair, but since this part of the U.S, its very humid outside. It made my hair frizzy which irked me, but there was nothing that I could do to fixit besides leaving it in a low bun with a ponytail that Paul lent to me.

Hm..I hope me wearing sleeveless doesn't give a wrong impression of me. I pushed that thought behind, as I quickly got dressed, put my brown boots back on and went out to meet Emily. I closed the door and left with Emily to her car. It was a small blue Honda, and it seem fitting for her. It was like a five-minute drive until we were back in Sam's place. I tried to calm my anxious thoughts through deep breathing techniques that I remembered my therapist taught me, and I remember the indigenous man's words "Be Bold", so I pulled myself together and walked confidently behind Emily.

There stood Billy because I could instantly recognize him since he is in a wheelchair, and a elderly man with a long braided white hair loosely tied in a small band nest to him. I saw Kim sitting in the couch looking anxiously as she was biting her nails. I assume it was Sue Clearwater who sat beside her, chastising Kim to stop biting her nails and trying to comfort her that Jared will be fine because she had medical bag next to her as a nurse in the reservation. They all looked up when they heard me coming.

I looked at everyone. Not sure what to do next, I gave a half bow, hopefully I didn't offend them, and said, "Hello. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Alexandria Hernandez."

Sorry, I couldn't help, but write another chapter. I couldn't focus in my studying and I had to put this chapter down in order to be free. LOL. Hopefully, this chapter gives more of an insight of why she is here.

I don't know in detail about Quileute and their culture, just few things here and there so I won't pretend that I really know just from a quick search in google like many others in fanfic has done in the past. This is also just a fanfic, not a reflection of who they really are and what they really do in real life. I will be respectful, and if there are times that I slip and write something out of ignorance, please let me know respectfully without any name calling. Thanks!
