The Unexpected Hiatus

Ash and Joshua didn't know how long it has been, but it felt like an eternity.
"Hey, uh, A-Leader?" the Elite finally broke the awkward silence and called out to his leader.
"What, Joshua?" Black Raven was already in a grumpy mood due to their current situation.
"Have we even move an inch since we picked you up?"
"How should I know?" Ash said with a groan.
Their helicopter was frozen in place, almost as if an "outside" force was hindering them from reaching headquarters on time.
Joshua was hoping for a better answer than that from the infamous Black Raven. "Y-You don't think we're going to be stuck like this forever, do you?!" Panic started to flow within the Elite.
Ash rolled his eyes behind his goggles. "Don't be ridiculous, Joshua!" he retorted, earning a deep frown. "This is just a small roadblock."
"But will Second-in-Command be upset with us for being late?" It was a rare moment where Ash flinched. "I heard rumors she seriously punished those who don't show up to important summons on time. Heck, even some rumors said she stabs them to death and won't stop!" The Elite's body shivered at the mere thought.
"Yeah, about that..." If only the oblivious Elite knew, those rumors were true. There were several times where his right-hand swordswoman almost killed him under circumstances or just...for her own amusement.
Speaking of his right-hand swordswoman...
"Damn that little runt!" the seething woman was glaring sharply through the top floor window at the stalled aircraft while rapidly tapping a finger against her shoulder and tapping her right boot on the floor impatiently. "What lame excuse does he have now for making me wait 2 months?!" she growled venomously. "I should just do everyone a favor and kill him as soon as I see him!" She grabbed the handle of her blade firmly. "I will stab him so badly J won't even recognize him!"
Ash suddenly got a cold shiver running down his spine.
"You know...maybe we can take our time..." Joshua gave his leader a wary look. "We're in no hurry."
"Are you sure?" Ash gave a firm nod.
"If we're lucky, we might be there in time for Halloween."
It was a half-ass joke, of course.
I might consider doing these skits every five chapters. Anyway, keep an eye out for Chapter 6 around late October, at the very latest. For now, I've to work on the next one-shot for someone.
