He was panting heavily as he stared at me with his intense silver eyes. It was like he ran all the way here.

What made him come in such of a hurry?

Nevertheless, I stood there frozen not out of fear but of uncertainty. I wasn't sure what I suppose to be doing. I definitely don't want to just stick my hand out and pet him just because I see him in his wolf form. Not that I am afraid of him or anything, but not the time nor place to do that. It reminds of those times where I read on fanfic that the female leads just try to go pet the wolf even though the situation is tensed and the wolf themselves don't feel comfortable. Why force them to be petted just because we trust them? Like with Bella, lowkey forcing Edward to have sex with her even though Edward made it very clear that he doesn't trust himself, but still did it because Bella kept encouraging that she trusts him when he doesn't even trust himself. ( A/N:Not trying to throw shade at any particular fanfic or anything lol. It was my thinking. I would be like ..ok). Then again, maybe Bella didn't mind dying in the middle of sex for all we know because she really wanted to change into a vampire. It was until I saw a guy reacted to the Breaking Dawn movie that I realized how messed up it was for Bella to lowkey coerced Edward to have sex with her.

That was a dark thought.

My mind was running with many thoughts at once, so it does look like I'm rambling at this point. It wasn't even a minute passed before I asked hesitantly, "did the fight end?"

I waited to see how he responds, but he didn't blink or gave any indication of a response. He kept on staring at me, no longer growling at me but still baring part of his teeth at me. How come is he not phasing back? Is the wolf in control or something? Is he not allowed to phase back just yet?

I asked, "are you upset with me?"

That's when he finally blinked at me, Okay that's a yes.

I was trying to figure out what the reason could be until I realized, so I said ".. is it..because I'm not in the house ?"

He lowly growled, and he phased back in front of me. I never thought I would ever get the chance to see someone phased in front of me at this close of proximity. It was like one moment he was a wolf, and the next moment he was human. If I hadn't blinked, then I wouldn't notice the half of second blur. It really was magical to see it. It was one thing reading it, and seeing it from the movies, but the movies don't have it this close to the real deal. I was shocked. When I finally realized what I was looking at, my face flushed from his nudity, but I kept my eyes on his upper body. Refusing to look lower.

He stared at me again with his blazing silver eyes. He spoke lowly, "it upset my wolf that we found you out here close to the woods alone and not by the house like we told you."

Oh..

I said sheepishly, "I'm sorry.. I just needed a break from the house. I got too emotional, and I needed to calm myself down. I don't know why, but I got angry with the elders. It's not me to lose my cool like that."

He continues, " Yeah. We felt you were getting upset. That is why we came immediately toward you. It was exhausting to resist the pull to stay by your side today, but I had to go fight. I was supposed to help the pack and the leec..Cullens clean up the aftermath of the fight, but when I felt your emotions, I couldn't resist it anymore. Sam understood and let me go since I did well staying focus throughout the fight. "

Oh... so imprinting allows the wolf to feel the intense emotions of the imprintee. Then, does the reverse applies as well? Is it where I was feeling that random burst of anger?

Before I thought more on this, He growled lowly, "Submit".

I flinched, and without even thinking about it, I closed my eyes and bared my neck to him. Now, my heart was really racing at this point. I mean, I read it in fanfics when wolves are possessive, the wolf spirit would demand the imprintee to show submissiveness. I have mixed feelings regarding that. I also understand wolves don't think about those type of complex things for humans. I might need to figure out when it is needed to show my submissiveness, but for the sake of keeping the wolf spirit calm since Paul just recently imprinted on me and he just came from fighting the battle with the newborns with a strong possibility that a vampire could accidently come this part of the woods, I will let it slide. His concerns and fear were justified. I shouldn't have gone this close to the woods. Mistake on my part.

I felt him untying my low bun and moving my curly hair to the side. He dipped down to sniff me at the neck. He pressed his warm lips at the juncture of my neck and shoulder. I felt him relaxing as he pulled me closer to his chest, wrapping his arms around my waist. I kept my head bared, waiting for him to say or do anything to give any indication that it was alright for me to look up to him again.

He licked my neck, and purred as he was chanting, "Mate."

It was like he was rubbing his scent on me for reassurance. I had a strong urge to pull away, but I didn't because I knew his wolf needed this. I was able to calm down with his other hand, he gently lifted my face to look at him. I took this as a go to open my eyes and look up to his eyes. His eyes were still shining a hint of silver, but not as intense as yesterday. He also looked tired. Poor him. He is probably exhausted from the fight.

I smiled and looked at him in surprise, "How did you figure out that I was your mate not your imprint?" I remember he wasn't too sure about it last night.

Before he gets to reply, I heard Emily approaching behind me. Oh..I forgot she was calling for me. How long was she there listening and watching all of this going down?

She said hesitantly, "Ale , I thought you were coming inside. Rosalie hanged up and told me to tell you to call her later on. They really need to speak with you" then, she exclaimed, "Oh!"

Her tone switched to a scolding tone, "Paul! How many times I told you to stop coming to my house butt naked?" She huffed, and said, "Let me go back inside and get you an extra pair of jeans. Be glad that I still put up with you Paul!"

Paul gave a tired half-smirk and said, "Thanks Emily. You do it because I know you love me!" he gestured his whole figure.

Emily waved her hand as she walked off. Before she went back inside through the backdoor, I heard her saying, "sure, sure!"

So, Paul looked back to me and asked, "what got you to lose your cool?"

I said still not looking down and not making this anymore awkward than it is, "I was telling them about my dream from my last night, and things that the elders they have been doing that were really wrong."

He crooked curiously, "Oh?"

Emily came back with shorts and threw it at Paul. Pal grabbed it single-handedly. She said, "Paul! Sam called. The elders are going to meet at Chief's house, and you guys need to debrief with the elders with everything that has happened."

Paul sighed, "Alright, I'm coming. Let's get this over with".

I turned around to give Paul privacy to put on his shorts, and Paul bantered, "You know, I don't mind you looking. No need to by shy. You would need to get used to seeing me like this."

We walked around Sam's house to go straight to the front, so we all would get into Emily's car. I replied, "I'm not being shy. You already have a big ego, I don't want to make it bigger. I know you look…fine." Yeah, I am definitely going to regret saying that.

"I look 'fine'"? Paul questioned. His mouth was quivering, trying not to smile with his eyes filled with playfulness. I could tell he was trying not to tease.

"Alright, I'm sorry! You look more than fine. You want me to say you look like a snack instead? I just don't know what else to say, okay. I never flirted before!" I said embarrassingly as I twirled my long curly hair with my finger in anxiousness.

He laughed softly as we approached Emily's car and went with her to Chief's house. The elders got on Billy's truck (A/N: Billy's truck is adjusted for paralyzed people be able to drive) and left before us to meet Sam and the rest of the pack there. Paul and I were at the back seat sitting together, and Paul pulled me closer to him, so I took the initiative to lay my head on his shoulder. He adjusted himself to have me wrapped around in his arms. I sigh in ease, for the comfort that I was receiving. It was a long day for Paul and me, so we needed this silence of peace to process everything that has happened to us.

The pack were outside of Billy's porch, waiting for something, but I wasn't sure what exactly. The elders were outside as well. The only one I didn't see was Jacob. Wait, is it what I think it is?

I asked Paul worriedly, "Did anyone get injured?"

He paused and nose crinkled before he said lightly, "We only got injured here and there, but nothing big like you were expecting. Seth broke his wrist when he was fighting the red leech's boy toy. Because you gave us that tip, it helped us to be more careful still struggled with the vampire that you warned us about, and Jacob came to help her out. He was able to avoid being crushed by the vampire, but he did break his arm. He was distracted by the kiss that he had with Bella and he was overly confident with his abilities, so it didn't click to him in time for him to avoid getting his arm broken. Doctor..Cullen just came over to go adjust it and help Seth fix his arm as well after they finished speaking with the Volturi guards."

I nodded, and I heard a loud grunt inside the house. Carlisle came outside, and he greeted me politely, "Hello Miss Ale. I hope that Paul told you why I am here?" Paul was beside me, growling lowly at Carlisle as a warning to back off. Carlisle didn't take any offense to the growl nor gotten scared from it. He still continues to smile at me.

I looked at Carlisle apologetically and said, "Yes, and Rosalie called, but I didn't get the chance to pick up the phone on time..I was occupied with something else. Do you happen to know what she was calling about?"

There was a hint of sadness in his eyes, before he said, "Yes, we wanted to know if you had known about Bree Tanner? Volturi took her life as a demonstration of their power when we don't follow the rules."

I froze. That was what I was forgetting..I didn't read the small novel about her life that Meyers wrote after she wrote Eclipse, so I truly have forgotten about her. Guilt was flooding deeply in my heart. She could've lived if I had just remembered her, but maybe, it was best that she died so she wouldn't live the lonely existence of a vampire.

I said with tearfully, "I am so so sorry, Carlisle. I honestly forgot about her. It was not my intention to withhold that information from you guys.. If I had remembered, then probably she would've lived and not be killed off so tragically."

Carlisle put his cold hand on my shoulder and said reassuringly, "It's okay sweetie. I understand. I can see that you meant well. Do not fret about it. It was probably meant to be unfortunately. You still saved more lives if you hadn't come, Ale." Paul was now snarling viciously at him, so Carlisle quickly took his hand off me. I placed my hand on his arm, and he stopped snarling at him.

Sam, Jared and Billy approached us from the behind. Billy first spoke, "Thank you", and Carlisle nodded with a small polite smile.

Carlisle asked, "Since now Ale has been imprinted on-"

Sam stepped in with an authoritative tone, "It'll be best if she lives on the reservation with us."

Paul's had his hands on my hip and hold me a little tight, and Carlisle nodded slowly.

I asked, "Carlisle, I am sorry if this is too much of a favor, but do you mind asking Jasper if he could ask his lawyer to forge some papers for me?..If I am going to live here for long term, I need some papers to use to get my life started here.."

Carlisle smiled, "Yes. Once I arrive home, I will ask him, and I will call you and let you know."

I replied, "Thank you Carlisle for everything."

He nodded, and said, "Well, gentlemen. It was a pleasure working with the pack. It was a long day for all of us. We can talk more on a different day. It will be best for me to go retire right now." With his medical bag in his hand, he was about to leave until Billy said, "Wait."

Billy said as if he was difficult for him to ask, ".. We found about things about Miss Alexandria with the help of Old Quil here. Since her arrival also involves with ..your people, would you ,uhm, take the time to listen in our meeting with the rest of the council members?"

All of us were surprised. I didn't expect Billy to invite Carlisle to a council meeting with the deep tension between the Quileute's an. Even Carlisle was surprised. Carlisle and I both looked at each other in astonishment until he recovered, and said, "It will be my pleasure, but first let me go notify my family that I will be arriving a little later than anticipated." He texted someone at his phone, before he looked up at me and told me, "Thank you" before he went back inside. Jacob and Seth went out. Jacob had a sling on his left arm, and Seth had a brace for his wrist.

I looked at him confusingly as he walked back inside. What is he thankful for? I think it is because what I told the elders, but I don't think it should've taken this quick for them to change. I feel like I am missing something.

Paul gave me a quick hug, and whispered in my ear, "I'll pick you up later, kay?" I nodded in response.

Billy, Old Quil, Jared, and Paul went inside with Sam being the last one to go inside the house. Before he closed the door, he turned around and said, "Go to the La Push, and relax. You guys should be proud of yourself. We suffered no casualties, so it best to say that we should take this time to relax and celebrate. Sue and Leah are going to bring food and drinks for us to celebrate at the beach."

The boys cheered and ran at the beach.

I heard Quil say, "last one to the beach would need to clean up afterwards!"

They all disappeared in a blink of an eye. The only one left was me and Emily. It was awkward. Emily then said, "Want to walk with me to the beach?"

I replied, "Sure, but do you mind giving me your arm? I don't see well in the night and I don't know where the beach is at."

Emily said, "Sure" as she extended her arm to me. I grabbed her arm, and she guided me into the night. We walked in silence before she spoke up, "after you left, Billy and Old Quil fought. They argued, trying to put the blame at each other until Sue scolded them for acting like children. Old Quil was able to convince Billy to listen to you. They all talked about it and realized that they need to do things differently for the new generation of the wolves. Just now, you saw how they allowed Dr. Cullen into the council meeting? They realized that they are not the enemies they should be fighting again. Only the ones with the red eyes. Paul told Sam in front me so that is how I found out. I think seeing that Jacob was not severely injured, and his life was spared from a greater injury, that is what helped Billy to start changing because you have proven yourself."

Ohh..so that was the reason.

She continues and at this point, I hear her sniffling, "I also want to thank you for standing up for Sam. Everyone expects so much from him, and I could see there are times that it gets to him, but he tries to hide it from me because he doesn't want me to worry. I still worry. Besides the pack and the imprints, no one else really knew how much Sam struggled and suffered. Not even the elders, but you did. Because you knew, you were able to convey it to the elders, and open their eyes of their mistakes."

She used her other arm to wipe off her tears, and I patted her shoulder. I told her, "Not a problem. I felt like it was needed to be said for everyone in the pack. Things needs to change for the future."

She asked, "The future?"

"Yes, there are two more members who are yet to come to the pack. Collin Littlesea and Brady Fuller", I replied. By the time I finished that sentence, we already arrived at the beach.

Emily said hurriedly, "I need to go back and tell Sam. We were monitoring them the past week because they were growing up fast just for 15-year-olds, but they haven't hit the fever nor showing the aggressive behavior yet. I need to go tell them that it confirmed they are going to phase. Wait here!"

She ran back as I shouted, "Okay!"

I was finally alone. I was still guilt-ridden for Bree, and emotionally tired from crying earlier. I heard the boys at one side of the beach tumbling around in the sand. I looked at the other side, and I saw that Jacob was sitting by himself at a log. He was looking distantly at the sea with a sad expression on his face.

I took a deep breath, gathering my courage, and went toward Jacob.

Let's hope this goes well.

Author's Note:

Next chapter, Ale is going to speak with Jacob. Hopefully, the pack gets to warn Brady and Collin before they phase. This chapter was a little harder to write for some reason. I know some things haven't been addressed, and we will get to it soon, I promise!

I never thought how quickly this story will be favorited, so I am thankful for everyone who have been supporting my story!

As always, reviews are appreciated.
