I'm already writing two other fanfics, but I HAD TO WRITE this story. It's about this dragon named Reaper... this is just the first chapter, kinda an intro to what Reaper's like.
Reaper stalked up behind the dragon. Her black scales blended into the night so well that you couldn't tell she was there. She gripped her knife tighter, and stabbed the knife through his back, walking over his dead body, relishing the feel of warm blood on her claws.
She carelessly kicked him over, knowing she could take anyone that came near with a single flick of her knife. She slipped the scroll he was holding out of his claws and launched into the night sky. She soared over Pyrrhia, and finally came to a high-up cave where not a single light glowed.
She landed and walked into the cave. She pushed through the fake wall designed to repel any dragons nosing around, looking for the organization Reaper worked for. It was made up of the best assassins in the whole world. Dragons of every type. Mostly NightWings. But Reaper was always the best. She was the most feared. Every little dragonet knew her name.
Reaper. It sounded exactly like how she was. She was no more than three years old, but she was the most dangerous dragon in the entire world. She changed her scales to a bright yellow, alerting everyone she was there.
"Heeey. Idiots. Get your sorry asses over here. I got your scroll."
"And in record time!" A nerdy-looking MudWing with glasses called, coming up to her. He tried to take the scroll from her talons.
"Ah-ah-ah" She said, pulling the scroll back to her chest, quicker than you could say 'kill'. "Say please."
"PLEASE" He sighed.
"More respect, Bulrush"
"Please, oh great Reaper, please let me take that all-mighty scroll from your possession, and you will be rewarded greatly, very respectable dragon who is named Reaper"
"Better. Needs work. Here, take the scroll" She tossed it in the air and jauntily stalked away. She heard Bulrush sigh, and she flicked him a warning glance. He quickly straightened up, got his glasses back into place, and hurried away to go do whatever extra nerdy psychopaths with powerful scrolls do.
"You better watch out. I can kill you with a single flick of my knife, now go and do whatever the fuck you need to do. Sheesh. What an ass hole." She grumbled under her breath, and right at that moment, her sister then appeared out from her cave as she gave Reaper a critical and exasperated stare.
"Watch your tongue, Reaper. There's children here."
"Do I look like I care? No! Now what the fuck do you want, Silencekeeper?" She demanded, raking her claws on the stone floor as she twitched her tail impatiently.
"Where's Shadowbinder, Starseer, and Shadeflyer?" Reaper inquired, staring at her sister with fake curiosity as she twitched her tail back and forth. Shadowbinder, Starseer, and Shade (Shadeflyer is her full name) but everyone just calls her Shade. They are her older sisters and Shadowshifter is her older brother. Reaper is the youngest out of the five of them. Well, technically… Shadow, Shade, and Starseer aren't really her sisters, but she's known them for basically her whole life so they feel like her sisters.
"I don't care, I can say whatever I feel like, Silencekeeper. Now shut up and leave me be. I'm going to bed." She says over her shoulder as she headed down the hallways of there temporary home.
Reaper walked down her tunnel, and quickly fell into a light, though rejuvenating sleep. She woke up in the morning to Shadowshifter standing over her.
"What the fuck dude" She hissed. He laughed and fluttered his wings. His navy blue scales shimmered glamorously, highly contrasting Reapers normally black scales. Reaper is a NightWing-RainWing hybrid. She was born with the powers of both, including fire, venom, camouflage, and the ability to change her scales.
She slipped on her pouch full of knives, poison, and other various weapons. "Okay, well, say something!"
"I like staring at you"
"You're creepy"
"You're creepy" He retorted.
"Yeah, you got me on that" Her scales flashed a pale orange, and she stalked out of her den. When Shadowshifter followed her, she slipped into camouflage so he couldn't find her. Her bag had been made out of material that changed color with her, making it so she could carry weapons and be completely invisible.
Shadowshifter lost her after that, and she went up to the front where she asked for a new mission. "I'm sorry, we have no missions available. Echoheart, Changeling, and Ghost are doing all the missions right now." She said it in a voice so robotic, Reaper found it hard to believe she was an actual living dragon.
"Excuse me? GHOST, is on a mission instead of ME. ME? Do you know who you are talking to? There must be a mistake."
"There is no mistake ma'am" Reaper turned a deep shade of red, a sign of fury. Within a second the lady at the front's head was on the floor. Her body fell over a moment later, and blood began spewing out of the exposed insides like a volcano. Reaper's face contorted with rage, but she felt better after murdering the annoying dragon. Shadowshifter came up behind her.
"Wooah, Killy-mckilly pants, don't go killing any dragon that mildly annoys you."
"I don't. You would have been dead eight hundred times over if I did." She said it blankly, as if it were something he should already know, that everyone said.
He laughed, and it turned into a scared cough. "You wanna go on a mission together?"
"There is none"
"No, but we can go have some fun" He said smiling. She smiled back.
"Let's go." The two dragons bounded out of the den, and flew into the beautiful morning sky. They flew down into a cute little SkyWing village. Reaper didn't care to learn the name. Even though Shadowshifter was older, Reaper directed the mission.
"I'll sneak into each hut and kill them before they can scream. Shadowshifter, go and kill the dragons on the street." He nodded, and slipped out a sword.
Reaper went around the back and snuck into the hut closest to the back. Inside was a happy family. A bright red SkyWing Mom was serving a pig to a pinkish red dragonet. The Dad was devouring a cow, all by himself, and the daughter was laughing at him. Reaper threw a knife through the dragonets neck, and she collapsed on the ground, dead. Reaper chopped off the Mom's head with a sword, before she could scream, and took extra pleasure in killing the Dad, who was too in shock to process dying. She skipped out of the den, and did roughly the same thing to about twenty more huts. She camouflaged and skipped out into the clearing, where Shadowshifter was impaling dragon after dragon.
"Sweet. You've got it down!"
"You get all the huts?"
"Yep. All except one. They have no idea we're here." She laughed. "Back away Buster!" Reaper yelled to Shadowshifter. He backed out of the way, and she got out a sword so long, it had been designed to fold up. In fact, it was folded up at the moment, so it looked like a normal sword. She let the SkyWing villagers come at her, and she got out her sword, spinning in circles, cutting down bunches of dragons at a time.
Now, the only dragons left were the three in the hut. "You scare them out, draw them to me."
"But I-"
"The Reaper needs to make her big finish" She sing-songed, a dangerous gleam in her eye.
"Fine" he hissed, stalking over to the small hut. Reaper had gone in an spied. That hut was perfect. A cute little SkyWing about her age, and two, warm, loving parents. Reaper shimmered out of view, and waited for her prey to arrive.
The dragonet was crying. She had perfect little red scales, warm amber eyes, and smile lines. It looked weird for her to frown so big. But her lips were trembling, and tears flooded from her eyes. Perfect. Target. See, for the Reaper to be known, she couldn't kill everyone. Let one or two victims get away. Tell the story of the Reaper.
The father had orange scales, and the mother looked just like her dragonet. Happy and carefree, bright red scales, warm amber eyes- So sad she was about to be dead.
"HEY GUYS! So nice to MEET YOU! So, I'm REAPER, the one and only!" Reaper said, revealing herself. Whenever she did this she was careful to stay black. More intimidating. She didn't let anyone know she was half RainWing. Other from her associates.
The dragonet was quivering in her claws. "Are-Are you gonna kill us?"
"Oh, not you SWEETIE" She said cheekily. Quicker than a lightning bolt, she threw a knife and chopped off the Dad's head. It was always fun to do that. Everyone's always so stunned. Even Shadowshifter, who always expects it.
The dragonet looked at her Dad's body. Rage grew in her eyes. "YOU KILLED MY DAD!" She shrieked. Reaper thought she felt the earth shake. "Not intimidated, honey. Hey, what's your name? I didn't catch that"
"It'll be alright Ruby" The mother said. Her voice quivered with emotion. Reaper could very easily hear it. It filled her with gleeful joy.
"Ruby! What a cute name!" Reaper smiled, and walked around the back of Ruby and her Mom. As she walked behind her Mom, she impaled her. Ruby didn't even notice until her Mom was already dead.
"Sorry sweetie. Run along now"
"One day, Reaper. One day, I will find you. And I will kill you."
"Yep, okay, bye now" Reaper yawned, looking bored. "SHADOWSHIFTER. Get your ass over here, I wanna head back. We had our fun."
Shadowshifter scurried over, and they took off, talking of there great victory. Reaper could just hear in the distance, Ruby say, "This is not over." Ha, yeah. Like a little nitwit like her could take Reaper. The GREAT Reaper.
