They were waiting in the clearing for the other Zabraks to show up and Riyo couldn't help noticing the glances Ilona was casting at Savage. Riyo had to admit that the was well muscled, even if she had a different person who she would say was far more attractive. They watched the two siblings make markings on the trees with short knives before Lyni settled about five feet away from them on a log and Savage leaned against a tree with staff in hand.
Everything was peaceful here. The quiet sound of the wind rustling through the trees, the water burbling in a stream nearby, the call of swamp birds. Riyo wondered if it was like this on Dathomir.
Then the air was cut with war cries as Lyni was charged by several different well armed men. Lyni was moving before the Pandorans registered this and had leapt over the head of the smallest, using his shoulders as a boost over. As the brightly colored men turned to follow her they found Savage blocking their way. The message was clear, If you want her then you have to go through me.
One of the younger men who was light yellow with brown markings spoke up, "How did she capture you elder?"
The one next to him who was a darker version of the same coloring grabbed his neck and shook him. Savage spoke, "She did not capture me." All the other men stirred at that and as he continued, "She is my kin, and we have come to aid you as you solve the problem of the blue skinned ones."
The oldest of the other men who was dark orange with black markings and the biggest horns of the bunch stepped forward, "And why should we do anything a female," he nearly spat out the gender, "wants?"
It was Lyni who spoke up, "I do not demand that you follow me or take my words as orders." She stepped up to be almost even with Savage, "I merely offer my observations." Gesturing at Riyo and Fari, "These two are of the same race as the other ones who have arrived here, and like the others they cannot stand the heat while eating the food you need to survive." Her voice was even, "Traditionally the problem would mean death," ignoring the gasps behind her, "but we suggest that they are given the poles which are covered with ice and you do not need." A bow of her head to their leader in respect, "That way your people will have what they need to survive and theirs will be given a chance to do the same in a climate better suited for them."
The leader looked towards Riyo who stood and came next to Lyni as well, "It is true that our people do better in the cold while yours do better in the heat." Looking up at him, "If they were given the poles they would never come into your territory again."
Looking down at the small Pandorian woman the leader tilted his horned head. Then he looked at Fari, "Do you vouch for her ability to keep her word?"
Fari pulled herself up to her full height, "If Riyo promises something, she will always keep her word. No matter the cost to herself." The words were full of conviction.
"Very well." Looking down at the small woman in front of him, "You may have your people back Riyo." Her name sounded far stranger with the way he said it but it felt wonderful at the end of that statement, "I shall have them brought here to you. Their transport to the poles is not my concern."
Riyo bowed her head to him, "In their behalf I thank you." There was a startled look on his face for a millisecond, before it was wiped away again. Then he motioned for the other males to follow him and disappeared back into the swamp. Riyo looked at the two Dathmarans next to her, "That was quicker than I expected."
Lyni gave her a slight smile, "You get used to it." Savage was already checking the perimeter again, in order to ensure their safety. Seeing the questioning look Lyni explained, "Their leader said nothing about us not being attacked while here or once we leave. It is far better to air on the side of caution." She patted the trunk, "And we are ready for whatever happens."
