Bag Raiders (Oshi)

Hello, fellows! I'm back to share another personal story with you. This time, it's about my oshi, and what she means to me. Does that mean that I'm basically gonna rant to you for however long it takes for you to either leave or to get to the end of this narrative? Am I trying to warn you of a potential disaster in advance? Absol-lutely! Of course, to keep you thinking, I'm not gonna make it obvious and give you her name, so you'll just have to guess from context.

She's come a long way since her debut. At the start, it seemed that she tried her hardest to maintain that very first impression she left on her audience. Of course, like most other people in hololive, as she streamed, she grew more comfortable with who she ended up being, even fully embracing jokes about her one day that she might jokingly try to refute the next.

She has an angelic voice. She's not a perfect singer, occasionally slipping up here and there whenever she does karaoke, but perfect would get boring quickly, right? No, it's much more satisfying to watch people grow, even when you think there's not much room left to grow. It's immensely pleasing to see someone fumble on a difficult part in a song, and then revisit it a few months later only to completely crush it with ease!

She's a strong person, able to take her losses and keep going despite them. She could spend hours trying the same thing over and over again, all to achieve her goal. She's no stranger to failure, even having some of the reasons dedicated to memory, but that won't stop her from getting to know victory. The world's finest could actively be working against her, and she would still keep fighting for the right to win. If I had but a milliliter of her determination, I could only imagine how much more I'd be able to accomplish…

She's great at juggling many projects or tasks at once, all to make sure her fans keep getting something new. I could watch stream after stream and not feel bored or tired of her. I love everything she does. Even if she's officially labelled as an idol, she sure knows how to make people laugh. She can fill the gaps and lulls with ease, even if she sounds like she's going insane at times. Actually, this is hololive we're talking about, so wouldn't it be more reasonable to say that she's letting her mask of sanity slip?

Either way, she's still a great entertainer. To be honest, I feel that making any form of entertainment is one of the noblest professions in this day and age, given that you do not abuse your power. Of course, nothing gets nobler than directly protecting and saving lives, especially when you risk your own to do so, but it's high up there. I'd place it in the same tier as... customer service and food prep/service, and for the same reasons: being as valuable as gold yet overwhelmingly underappreciated, even treated as dirt by some. They work days on end serving others, yet it's all too easy for people to turn on them in a minute for the most minute mistake.

In this day and age of careers ending over the slightest slight, people like her stand tall, doing their best to please those they care for. They give people like us an escape from the constant grind demanded by corporate machines. Their shows, their songs give us an escape from both the mass media that's trying to get you to fear so it gets an audience and the social media that only ever shows you the best moments of people's lives, indirectly making you feel unaccomplished and wasteful. I couldn't be happier knowing that people who can make others feel a whole new world of emotions, if only for a few moments at a time, can still survive and even make a living off of doing what they love.

Simply put, she's my muse, albeit more for her personality than her appearance (though all of her outfits have been utterly sublime). Seeing how hard she works in what she does, hearing about how long she works to get the results she's looking for, I feel inspired to start writing, even if what she's doing and what I'm writing about are two completely different things. Her voice alone motivates me to work on my own projects, to break my habit of revisiting comment threads and TV Tropes pages I've visited dozens of times already, waiting to see if anything changed or refreshing memories I've refreshed a dozen times already. And she's never satisfied with staying where she is. She always wants to hone herself, like an ever sharpening blade, to polish herself like a gem that will never stop shining brighter and brighter.

In a way, and feel free to call me out for this, her attitude is how I want to think as a writer. She does her best to not give a fuck about blatant hate, but she gives one hell of a damn in pleasing her audience, going the extra mile to ensure only the absolute best goes out to them. Personally, I'm meticulous to a fault, sometimes only submitting things when I realize that I've already sunk so much time on them that if I wait any longer, I'd end up never turning them in! What would be the point of working on making something good for so long if it never goes public?! I mean, I guess there's the experience from making it… I dunno, I don't get my stories beta-read, since I would prefer getting feedback from the people who choose to read my stories.

Well, I think I said basically everything I had to say about her while staying as vague as I could. Anyone still there? Anyone still guessing? Either way, I still won't say the answer outright, but I might as well have with this hint. Ready?

She's cute. She was cute yesterday, she will be cute tomorrow, and she's cute today as well! Heh, hope I tricked some of you into thinking my oshi was Kanata or someone else, though I also warmed up to the tenshi after listening to her and seeing her endurance streams. Of course, if you were already familiar with the band Bag Raiders and their most famous song, then you probably knew the answer from the start. I hope you still found some fun reading my ramblings and, remember this. Just like having more than one waifu will ruin your laifu, have more than one oshi, and your money will be gone before you can say, "Oh shit (a bridge!)"
