Few were the words Saber felt as her chest heart beaten within her chest, joy because not only were her people relieved of their pains and the water problems within the city taken care of.
She felt a hint of regret because for all of the girl's power she seemed to lack the ability of a warrior.
"My other self named her Aqua, like water," Saber said as she looked at Aqua smiling proudly as her job was now done, she said as her smile became soft and if one had to compare it, to anything they would have compared it to the look a mother gave to their child.
"Perhaps they took after their father," Saber said as she looked at Kazuma and remembered how her son tried to teleport away, with both his sister and her elder self.
She watched as Kazuma began to pull his sister away as people began to gather around her and thank her for healing them or curing whatever sickness was affecting them.
For a brief moment she looked at the sword in her hand and felt her chest feel with regret, the feeling only grew as she watched her elder self follow the two and head whatever adventure they were headed to.
"My king I would like a moment" Saber heard Mordred say to her.
On any other occasion, she would have granted Mordred this wish but Saber just wanted to continue looking at the children she never had or perhaps would have someday.
She was about to say that this wasn't a good time, but those words died as she watched Mordred remove her helmet.
"I'm the child born from you and Morgan le Fay. Father please" Mordred said but stopped as Saber lifted her hand
"I can not, before you showed yourself a man was able to draw my sword.'
" Before you showed yourself a woman was able to draw my sword"
"Before them, a woman that claimed to be me from another time was able to draw my sword"
"Had she lied she wouldn't have been able to do such an act" Saber said to Mordred hoping the girl would understand what she was trying to say, after all, she had recognized both Kazuma and Aqua as her son and daughter under not just one but many eyewitnesses.
Mordred's green eyes began to glow as she ground her teeth as she heard Saber's words.
"Do you hate me so much that you won't even give me the chance to prove myself like them!?" Mordred screamed at Saber before pausing her eyes widened with shock as she watched Saber draw Excalibur and force it into the castle's floor.
"I won't deny you what you want, but even if you succeed you won't be named my successor" Saber said to Mordred
Saber felt as if she was looking at a lost and injured child as she looked at Mordred, the moment she had said those final words, it was as if the girl had lost all of her power.
"I'm a knight like you," Mordred said, however, her voice was now barely above a whisper.
"I can be, no I am your son" she added as tears began to fall from her eyes and run down her cheeks.
"I have or will have a daughter, that is a girl and I have or will have a son, that is a man" Saber added before walking past Mordred who fell to her knees, the girl's strength was now gone.
"You are my knight, be proud of that" Saber said to Mordred as she left the girl behind, to be alone with her thoughts
Mordred lifted her head and looked at Excalibur it was still stuck into the castle's floor, her hands trembled as she touched its handle.
She felt the cold metal and leather in her hands, but as she stood up to pull the sword out, she found herself unwilling to do so anymore.
Merlin watched as father and daughter walked away in opposing directions.
Merlin could only smile, fate had been changed and now the gears of the world were spinning in ways he could only imagine, it was anyone's guess what would happen next and yet the mage of flowers couldn't help but smile.
After all this was interes
