Chapter 49: Be My Bridesmaid, Leah?

Ale's POV:

I woke up sleeping on my side and feeling wet under me. I was confused and when I got up with great difficulty, I saw little wet patches on my nipples.

Oh. I am lactating now. I sighed as I took the bedsheets and put them to wash. Since I was home alone, I just walked around naked. I went to the bathroom to wipe myself clean with wipes. I put a new bra on with patches to absorb the leaking milk so that I would be wetting through my clothes, and I would just need to insert a new one whenever they get wet. I decided to be a little adventurous and I put a maternity blue overall with pockets and a black shirt. I twirl myself around the mirror as I cradled my pregnant belly.

Well, look at me. Don't I look cute. I bet Paul won't be able to take his hands off me.

I put my cellphone in my pocket to remind myself to call Carlisle later. Knowing me, I would forget due to the absent-mindedness that I am experiencing due to the pregnancy. I had a huge craving for cranberry juice, honey butter chips and pocky sticks. I know, its junk food, but I am really craving them. If I splurge once in a while, then I think it would be fine. I grabbed them from the cabinets and went to the recliner chair, to eat them in peace. I munched them as I felt the babies kicking softly through the overall. I don't think they are used to me wearing them, so I guess this is their way of exploring the outside world? I massaged my belly as I ate them in silence. Oh, I almost forgot. I need to call Carlisle. I rang Carlisle and he picked up immediately,

Hi, Miss. Ale.

I smiled as I took a gulp from my juice and said,

Hi Carlisle. How has it been since you guys moved?

He said,

We are doing very well. Thank you for asking. Renesmee is a great addition to our family and thank you for the warning with Bella. She almost ran into a hiker, but like you said, she avoided him like a vampire than a newborn. The Denali clan came to visit to see Renesmee and they simply adore her.

I said,

Awe. That is great to hear. Renesmee is a sweet girl. She has an easy temperament even for being part human. I know human girls who have a hard temperament.

He said,

That is very true. She is such a mystery. She is already walking.

I said,

Wow that is so cool to hear, Carlisle. I bet the … I am calling you today because I want to thank you for asking Forks Hospital to send their own equipments to the reservation clinic.

He said gently,

"It is my great pleasure. You have helped us to be closer as a family since Jasper and Alice became our family. I know if I simply send you money, it would be..difficult for you and the tribe to accept, so I thought this would be helpful."

I am glad that they thought this through instead of us throwing money at us. I read many fanfics of the Cullens compensating the tribe with money. Even though the tribe definitely needed it, it was with a great difficulty for them to accept. It just made it more obvious of how wealthy the Cullens are.

I said,

I really appreciate it, Carlisle. I am going to be 35 weeks by the end of this week, and by next week. I would give birth.

He said,

Wow. That is remarkable, Ale. Are you prepared?

I said,

Honestly, I don't know. I know you can never be ready when it comes to kids. I have their room set up, I read the baby books and books for expecting mothers. I took notes from Esme and Rosalie. I have my experience working with children as a RBT, but I don't know.

He said,

I understand…your mate Paul and the pack will be there every step of the way. We will also be here to help you as much as you like us to.

I smiled and said,

Thanks Carlisle… and I have something else to tell you. I am getting married soon.

I heard screeching through the phone, and I assumed it was Alice.

WHAT?! When? Where? And how?

I heard Emmett laughing in the background.

I belly laughed whole heartedly and it made the babies a little fussy for a moment with their kicking. One of them kick me in the bladder by accident, and I gasped in shock.

Carlisle said worriedly,

Are you okay?

I said,

I'm fine..Alice just surprised the babies and one of them accidently kicked me in the bladder. Good thing I already went to the bathroom, so I didn't wet myself by accident.

I heard Alice saying,

Sorry..

I said,

Its's okay. To answer your question, I am planning to have the wedding before the babies are born and before I am put to bedrest, so like in 3 to 4 days?

She screeched through the phone,

3 to 4 days?! You need to get a reception, chairs,.." and she started rambling in vampire speed about other things that I would need. I think Rosalie caught on that I was not listening anymore, so she barked loudly through the phone, "Alice! You're talking to fast for Ale. Either way, you already got your wedding planning crazy moment fulfilled with Bella's wedding."

I heard Jasper saying something in the background, but I couldn't make out of it. Whatever he said, it helped calm Alice down.

Alice said,

Sorry, Ale.. I forgot that I was talking to a human, silly me. I don't think you would want my help, huh?

I said,

Well, I only want a small wedding, but I would need help to know which bridal shops that sells maternity wedding dresses for someone this far long in their pregnancy.

She said,

Oh! I can definitely do that.

She eventually gave me the list of names of the stores to go to in Port Angeles and in Seattle. It took a long convincing from Alice, but I let her to put a good name for me whenever I go visit them. Since I have to set up an appointment first before showing up to a bridal shop. It seemed like it satisfied Alice, so she passed the phone back to Carlisle.

He said,

Thank you for calling and checking up on us. It means very much for my family.

I replied,

Of course. I know you guys are more than what nature says what you are. That is what I liked about your family.

He said,

Before I forget, I have told Garrett to visit me. The only way I got him to finally come was because I bait him that I know who his mate is. He would be coming here in a week or so. He said he is in the Philippines, so it will take some time for him to finally arrive here. He might visit Forks to track us down. I'll let Alpha Jacob know, but I also wanted to let you know that we are starting to make plans for the future.

I said,

Wow. I am impressed, Carlisle. I thought that it would take much longer time for the family to come around, but I am happy to see that you guys are taking initiative without any more probing from me. I appreciate that you're keeping me updated.

He said,

It is my pleasure. I have to go now because Renesmee is going to wake up from her late afternoon nap soon. Take care, Ale.

I ended the conversation by saying, "Take care."

After I hang up the phone call. I looked at the time, and I noticed that it was getting close to 2pm. I am surprised that Paul was still gone. Maybe talking to the guys and Old Quil went longer than anticipated. I was getting hungry again, and I was really craving chile rellenos. I'll make it simple and make it ground beef and stuff the chile with cheese. I love it when there is cheese inside of it.

I went to start preparing the ground beef, the egg batter, and the cheese. Then, I went to grab myself plastic gloves, so I won't accidently touch my eyes with the seeds of the chile as I cleaned them out.

Hmm. Let's play some music. Since

I was stirring the ground beef in the pot when I felt Paul wrapping his arms around my pregnant belly. He was kissing me on the neck as he was swaying himself with me. He whispered behind my ear as he gave a lick to my ear, "mmm..you look delightful in this overall."

I squeaked in surprise as I turned my head to look at him and said with a grin, "Yeah? I felt like dressing up a bit today. I am glad you liked it."

He kissed me on my temple and hummed in agreement.

He asked, "What are you making, hon? It smells delicious."

I replied, "Oh, I am making some chile rellenos."

He asked curiously, "Ohh. How do you make them?"

I told him how to make them, and he had a small crease in his forehead. He said, "it sounds a lot of work, hon. Can ..we help you out?"

I said with a smile, "Sure! I would love that to cook together with Paul."

Once the ground beef was done, I showed him how to stuff them, how to put the ticks to keep the shape intact, and how to make the egg batter. It was so funny seeing him struggle to keep the egg batter fluffy to dunk it all around the chile. He didn't let me fry them because he didn't want me to get burn by the oil. He looked so proud when he was able to fry his first one to perfection. I cheered for him, and it made him to be bashful, but of course, I knew he was just embarrassed that I was praising for him for something so small.

We finally got our lunch ready. Paul made me sit down as I wait for him to the 14 loads of chile rellenos, rice and beans. I was literally drooling by the time that he brought it over to the table, and I could hear his stomach rumble. We ate in silence. Paul was the first one to finish and he got up to start cleaning up the mess that we made. There were splatters of egg batter all over the floor, but he was able to finish cleaning them patiently while I was finishing up my meal.

I stretched my arms as I felt very stuffed from all the food that I ate. I think my stomach grew just slightly this time as a food belly. I felt my waist feeling a bit tighter with the overall, so I adjusted the overall to make it a little loser. I leaned back against the chair, and I heard Paul saying, "Go relax in the couch, hon. I take it from here. You did a lot just now."

I nodded mutely, and I leaned back against the couch. I think I nod off a bit until I felt Paul adjusting me, so that he would be cradling me on his lap. I snuggled closer to him, and he purred lowly when I did that.

I murmured, "I'm too heavy."

He shook his head, "No, you are not, mate. I'm a lot stronger than you babe. No matter how much 'heavier' you get, I'll always be able to carry you. You are amazing" as he gives me a sloppy, soft kiss on the cheek. I smiled slightly when he did that.

I asked, "So, how did it go?"

He proceeds to tell me that Jared and Jacob agreed to our requests. He and the guys are going to surprise me with how they gonna set up the ceremony in the forest. Leah is going to take me to shop for my dress tomorrow, and Seth would pick me up from Seattle after Leah goes to class for her lab. He also told me that he went to ask Old Quil to officiate, and he is willing to do the wedding in 3 days.

However, the next two days, he will be working long shifts since Sam left on his spirit walk and with the new opportunity from Jason. He did this so that he could attend to the wedding and be with me until I give birth to the pups. I feel his eagerness and sentiment, so I didn't talk him out of doing this.

I simply asked him, "it won't be too much for you, carino? You gotta work the long shifts and set up the wedding ceremony."

He shook his head and said, "it won't be too much, hon. It will be all worth it in the end."

I nodded and said, "kay, but talk to me when it gets hard, okay?"

He nodded, and he said teasingly, "I should be asking you that because you tend to neglect your needs for the well-being of others."

I laughed shyly, "True, true. I gotta keep the advice to myself as well."

Suddenly, Paul turned his head toward the door. He said, "Leah's here. Okay, hon. Imma go nap at the hammock outside and you two some space."

I smiled of how thoughtful and considerate Paul is being. He knows me too well. It would be awkward if he were around. Even though Leah gets along with me, it doesn't mean she gets along with Paul just as the same.

He opened to the door to Leah, nod his head toward and walked around to the back to lay on the hammock. Leah walked in, and I noticed from her demeanor that she was tired. She looked exhausted from how she was carrying herself, and she flopped down to the couch next to me.

She said, "Hey.."

I said, "Hey..you okay?"

She said, "Uh..I don't want to talk about it right now. I tell you later. So what is it that you want to talk to me about?"

I fidgeted my hands in anxiousness, I looked at her, and I asked her, "Since you know that I am going to get marry, I want to ask you..if you want to be my one and only bridesmaid..I understand if you don't want to."

She eyes widen slightly, and she stood there, thinking. She eventually said, "Sure.."

I said, "Yeah? No pressure?"

She said, "No pressure. I like you and..I didn't think you would ask me to be your only bridesmaid. I thought you would ask the other imprints."

I shook my head, " I am not as close to them like I am with you. Either way, I don't want to make them my bridesmaids just because they are pack. Paul is the same too and he just wants Jared. I am not looking for a huge wedding. We are already legally married and about to start a family. Why a huge family? If you get what I mean."

She nodded slowly, "I get it..since I am your one and only bridesmaid, am I also your maid of honor?"

Ohh. I have forgotten about that. I said, "Oh…I forgot about that. I wasn't even thinking about one and I don't have to have one, but if you want to be my maid of honor, then sure go ahead. I trust you."

She said smirking, "Good because I know some people who can help us out."

I asked curiously, "Oh yeah? How?"

She said, "Well, as a daughter of an important tribal leader, I had to get to know a lot of people over the years. I had to sit in numerous weddings, parties, celebrations, and rituals. Mom helped the family of the bride to prepare the wedding, so I know someone who can bake and cook, someone who knows how to decorate the wedding, and etc. We will figure something out."

I just looked at her with a jaw-dropping mouth. Wow, I didn't know about this side of Leah. It makes total sense though, and I could see why she is the Alpha Female. She knows the tribe and the people. She can get things done that Emily couldn't no matter how many years she has been an 'temp' Alpha Female. Leah can gather the tribe in ways that Emily can't due to Leah's upbringing.

She said, "I don't know if they would listen to me per say since..my reputations in the tribe got trashed… from how I grieved for the loss of the relationship with Sam..and how the council handled the pack. ..I know some people think I am taking a go with everyone in the pack or the 'gang'. But, its fine. Jacob and I are trying to fix our reputation in the tribe. Either way, they will listen to Mom with everything she has done to them, so we got you covered girl."

I said astonishedly, "Wow..thanks Leah!"

She gave a small, tired smile, "No worries. I gotta go now. I have to report back to Jacob about being your maid of honor so that I'll be in their discussions of what the guys are gonna do to prepare for the wedding. All you gotta do is stay healthy, chickee, and tomorrow we go get your dress."

I said tearfully, "Okay"

She lightly punched me on the shoulder, "Don't get too mushy on me."

I chuckled lightly, "alright, alright."

She got up, walking toward the back door and waved goodbye as she phased to the woods. Paul was immediately by my side, and with his eyes flashing silver, he said, "Finally, no more interruptions. We can start doing the plan that we want for you to get ready to give birth to our pups."

I felt strong waves of arousal, lust, and excitement coming in waves from him that it got me confused.

What kind of 'plan'?
