He was not one to snore, sometimes he would talk in his sleep maybe due to the nightmares, but this was not the case. He lied on the couch face up, his hair all messed up and flailing a little bit every time he snored due to his face moving, the weight of his naked blonde underclassmen on top of him wasn't bothering not one bit, her upper body moving up and down every time he grabbed a breath in his sleep.

Both bodies covered by a thick black blanket, the deeds that were perfomed in that couch unbeknownst to the rest of beacon, a small strand of now dried blood ran around both of them legs as their clothes were scattered across the hangar. The sound of beeping made Riz snort along with a little bit of turning, he tilted his head at the side, his ears heard the girl whisper a groan as she clutched his torso in her arms.

"Mmh..." His head turned to the computer producing the sound, opening one single blue eye "Vis..."

"Good morning Riz, I hope you enjoyed your sleep." The machine responded, in all good will.

A small and silent chuckle escaped his lips. "Would you believe me if I told you this is the best sleep I had in months?" He said, caressing Yang's back with his fingers.

The blonde smiled underneath his chin, her head resting on his neck, she was awake too but didn't want him to know yet, she was enjoying this too much perhaps, but it didn't matter for her.

"I do believe you, however-"

"Ugh, curse me the day I taught you the word however..." He groaned, rubbing his eyes with his left forearm.

"You have a call from Headmaster Ozpin, along with several other missing calls from your teammates"

"Ozpin? Right now?" He opened his other silver colored eye, his hand reaching for the source of the beeping, his scroll under the couch. He stretched his arm a little trying his best to not inconvinience the blonde, his fingers reaching to the device he put it against his ear in order to avoid a facecall. "Hello?"

"Good morning Rizzer, I hope I didn't wake you up." The voice of the director of the academy said.

"N-no...not at all, professor, I was already awake"

"Liar" the blanket muttered, enough for him to hear. He stretched his other arm and pinched Yang's buttcheek, earning a soft yelp.

"That's great, I hope you enjoyed yourself last night with the company of Miss Xiao Long." Ozpin continued.

Riz swallowed, his cheeks burning. "With all due respect, professor I believe that-"

"Yes of course, I will not meddle. In any case I have a pressing matter that needs attending to and I require your inmediate assistance with it"

Rizzer's eyes shutting and opening, he contained a groan. "Can it wait? I mean...I'm kinda in the..." He looked around, clothes littering everywhere, a breathing fluff of yellow hair on top of him, her legs intertwining with his. "Middle of something right now"

Her fingers slowly traced his chest, a soft giggle. "Hi handsome" Yang said in a very quiet whisper that only he could hear. "My name is something, what's yours?" She grinded herself against him, making him shudder as he looked at her face wearing a shit-eating grin, he shook his head violently.

"I understand" the headmaster said his voice turning more solemn. "However this is a matter that cannot wait."

His expression suddenly becoming more serious, if Ozpin said such thing it's because it had to be true, this began to concern the blonde one. "What's going on, professor?"

"It is...unorthodox of me to share details of an ongoing investigation to a student and more over a call but...we have reasons to believe that the security of the CCT was compromised last night by an unknown assailant."

That made him sit almost inmediately, pushing Yang aside carefully, she looked confused as she clutched his arm. "Riz?" She asked, with a worried look.

He put up a hand in front of her in order to make her keep quiet. "I see...is there any way I can help?"

"I'm sorry but it would be unwise to maintain this conversation over the scroll, please come to my office as soon as posible."

"Yes" he nodded in an unconscious manner. "I'll be there in five, professor." Riz said, cutting off the call. A moment of deep thought, he ignored the firsts attempts of Yang to ask him what happened but he soon got back to reality when she proceeded to shake his shoulders.

"Hey wake up!" She said, her face looking scared. "Is everything alright? What's going on?"

"I don't know" he massaged his temple for a moment, he got up. "Something's going on, the CCT got attacked last night"

"What!?"

"Vis, pull out the CCT's camera recordings on last night" he demanded begining to walk around, searching for his school clothes on a lonely chair filled with used male clothing.

Yang just stared at him for a moment, then at the computer, still in shock.

"Riz, there is a total of six minutes and fourteen seconds of deleted footage from last night." The machine said.

"Wait you can watch the cameras from here?" Yang got up as well, using the blanket to cover her intimacy.

"That is affirmative Miss Xiao Long" Vis said.

"Wait are there cameras here?" She clutched her hands, having mixed feelings of embarrasment and anger as she pressed the blanket even more against her skin.

"Vis" Riz kicked one of the computer cabinets.

"Done, I have succesfully deleted the past four hours of sexual interco-"

"Apbababa" Riz said flailing his hands in the air with a blush on his face. "I don't want to hear that word again, and thank you. Also where's my foot?" He asked as he limped towards the place, the right stump on his leg making it all more difficult.

The blonde pondered over that so she asked "What happened to...well"

"You mean my..." He gestured at the place where a right human feet should be and know the only thing that was is a whole lot of nothing and a metal stump with a clamp for a metal replacement, Yang nodded. "Happened at the end of last year, the last mission it's a test a hard one, spoiler alert. We got ambushed by grimm, surrounded" he stretched his shoulder as he shared the deep memory, something that he wouldn't tell to anyone...she was no anyone. "Usually that wouldn't be a concern for us but we weren't the team we are now...we got scattered, clumsy, a giant Nevermore was about to eat Kairi, damn thing had it's mouth already open. Had to shove Kairi out of the way, made it in time but my foot wasn't so lucky"

"Oh...oh shit" she swallowed, looking astounded at the stump.

"Yeah, shit indeed...I was the leader at that time, but it ended up being too much for me, leadership...not made for it, so we changed leaders, looking at the bright side of things the event made us all recapacitate about everything, to think, an opportunity to better ourselves...under Kairi's word we do better now, even if I'm reluctant to follow orders from time to time, for some people it just makes me look like an asshole but for my team I'm just the rebel, every team needs one and I'm more than happy to oblige. My mother wasn't very happy tho, quite the opposite." He sighed.

"Oh?" The blonde's head tilting to the sides in curiousity "How so?"

"She never wanted me to be a huntsman in the first place...said that I wasn't cut out for the job" A chuckle escaped his mouth as he gave a bit of thought to the conversation he and his mother had on the phone two days ago. "She wanted to take me away last year after the incident, but I refused...I couldn't."

"Why not?" She asked, slowly letting go of the blanket as she searched for her clothes but still keeping him as the main focus of her eyes.

"Already failed as a leader, not about to fail them as a huntsman altogether, being here is my dream and that's something she's gonna have to accept"

"Yeah, I see what you mean, my dad and I had a bad time when I told her I wanted to be a huntress, follow my mom's footsteps...in reality everything's just an excuse to set out and find my real mom the second I graduate. Maybe you should talk to her, go visit her or something. she's the only family you have after all."

"Yeah" he chewed his lip, perhaps she was right, maybe it was the time for them to meet again after six months...he'd be lying if he said he didn't miss her. "I think you're right, maybe I'll do it today"

Yang felt more happy for the boy and more sure of herself as she dropped the blanket with a sigh, she bent over to the ground and quickly grabbed her panties. The grey-haired student looking at the other side, Yang noticed this and smirked. "You can look at me, I know I shine like the sun but we already did it so I won't break you skull on a little peeper."

A small chuckle escaping his lips as he turned his head to see her in all her glory as she put on her panties, her legs partially opened for him to stare a moment before she concealed that part once again with her underwear, a primal sense tingling on him as he licked his teeth. "Right..." He said, most to himself as his eyes drifted towards the place in question, he picked up Yang's bra from one of the monitors. "How the hell did this end up here?" He tossed it to Yang who caught it middair.

"Dunno, really matters?" She said as arranged the upper piece of underwear behind her back.

"Not really. We had a real good time so I'm not complaining about it" he put his hands on his waist, seemingly proud at the mess they had made but still he was in a hurry "now where the fuck did I left my foot?" He began to pace around, kind of hard actually considering he was lacking a foot.

Yang considered this very hilarious as she put her dress back on she grabbed the pair of heels but set them aside as she decided to help the poor guy. "You managed quite well, my hips are killing me" she commented.

"Shoulda told me that it was your first time."

"Would have mattered?" Their eyes met, she was wearing a smug.

"I would've been more careful" he said with a shake of his head.

"I don't do careful. Not my style"

"Oh I've noticed, don't worry." Riz laughed, he decided to lift the couch, nothing. "Shit, where is it?"

"Hey I uh...gotta ask you something" she said, he heard her voice deepening.

"If you're wondering about the condoms I'm sure they're fine, I know it was your first time but-" he lifted his head and inmediately shut his mouth, feeling stupid as he contemplated the fear on her face, she opened her mouth to speak.

"Look..." She was trying her best, he could see that. He got close and grabbed his hand.

"It's okay" he said, his voice reassuring her. "You can talk."

"Yeah I uh I know we had our little heart to heart and... I know that the things between you and Kairi are...complicated at best" Riz pressed his lips together. "But...all the things that I said to you at the back of the hangar...at the dance all of it was true...I really think you're a great dude, I've always saw you walk around the hallways and in some of our classes together but I never dared to talk to you before and now...I mean all of this don't you think is a little too soon?" She looked at him with glassy looking eyes, the shade and residue of the makeup still in her face for having cried last night.

"I-I mean...everything happened kind of quick yeah but..." He tighened the grip on her hand. "That doesn't take back all the things I've said either, all the things that happened here and outside..."

"Really?"

"Yang, I'm trying to level with you the best I can but if you don't tell me what you really mean I can't-"

"Just...I just want to know you won't discard me and leave me the second Kairi comes through that door again...a-and if you're gonna at least tell me now so I-I don't get in your way..."

"Yang" he muttered, she shook her head.

"Let me finish" she swallowed, this proved to be real hard, the tears hit the ground as she refused to look at his face. "I have been abandoned...twice, the first one I didn't knew and the second one I did but...but that doesn't mean I still don't feel like shit for not having met my first mother. The point I'm trying to make is that I really, really, really like you...and I want to be with you but...but I gotta know t-that you won't bail on me the minute things get hard I-I understand I'm the second one here a-and I-"

"Yang..." He embraced the girl, feeling her insecurity, the fear, she was shaking in his arms yet she still clinged onto him like he was some kind of raft amidst a never-ending ocean. "I like you too" he said and that was all she needed to hear, she tugged her head into his chest, his hand moving up and down her back. "Gotta warn you though, things I'll get weird sometimes."

"I-I can live with that..." Yang whispered with a whimper.

"I still have to talk to Kairi, still have to set things straight with her, it would be unfair of me to do this to her even if she did it to me."

"So she re-really pulled the old stabby huh?" Yang sobbed remembering what he had told her mid business in the couch when she asked about Kairi.

"Cheating back on a cheater doesn't make me a better person than her. Right now the last thing I care about is her but also the last thing that I want to do is hurt you or see the two of you fight because I never explained myself...but I'm gonna need time, mm?" Riz fiddled with the locks of her hair, so soft like a clould he thought. He watched as she moved her head in a nod.

"I understand that, I know you probably have a lot to think about right now and I don't want to pressure you either...you just do what you gotta, but don't leave me hangin' yeah?" She raised her head, her lips forming a short but joyful smile.

The huntsman in training grabbed her cheeks with both hands and kissed her, not in a passionate way like before...this somehow felt better, reassuring, her heart thumping. "That's the question to your answer if you were still wondering"

A wave of relief made her mind more clear, the sadness leaving her thoughts as she closed in for another kiss, and another, still not satisfied. "I'm glad" she said between kisses. "That you chose me"

"Well I couldn't say no to this kind of cake after all" he smirked as he squeezed her buttcheeks using both hands.

The blonde giggled with a playful tone as she hit his arm with his fist. "Idiot"

"I deserve that" he chuckled as he pecked her lips once more. "But seriously, I really like you too, this that happened, us? Not a mistake, not a mistake by a longshot."

"Happy to know" Yang answered staring at his eyes for a moment, she pondered. "You have the same color as my sis, silver"

"Oh, right. The contact..." He said, pulling himself away and grabbing the blue glass that was resting inside a cup of water, drying it with care and pressing it inside his left iris with the same type of care. "Yeah, Ruby said the same thing." He looked at Yang as he blinked several times to adjust his eye correctly. "We should really get going, don't you guys have your training missions today?"

"OH SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT!" She yelled in panic, grabbing her heels she opened the doors of the hangar with relative ease. "THE REST OF MY TEAM IS PROBABLY WONDERING WHERE I AM THEY'RE GONNA MURDER ME"

"well I'm pretty sure they know where you are, Ruby might be confused about a thing or two as to why you never came back though."

"Riz you really don't wanna go there with my sis" she pointed her finger at him, very serious "as long as I'm alive I will inflict pain on you if her still innocent ears catch a drift of this"

"Fine, fine. Duly noted." He said lifting up his arms in defense. "Go, c'mon they must be waiting for you with their weapons at hand."

"Let me know whatever happens with that thing with Ozpin" she said as she left the hangar.

"Yeah...right" he huffed, his metal foot fell, hitting him on the head and landing on his hand "what the hell?!" Riz lifted his head to see a shoe hanging by the laces from the wing of the aircraft that he was repairing. "Ohhhhh- How the fuck did you end up there?" He stared at his metal limb as he kneeled down to put it back on.

"Oh and, for the record..." Yang's head peeked from the doors "Definetely the best night of my life."

"Best night of your life so far" Riz turned around to face her smiling lips with a smirk of his own as he winked her direction. Yang's head dissapeared behind the door and he was left alone again, his shoulders dropped and he got back to tying the laces of his boots again, he felt something of with his left one though, he tapped his foot on the floor a little bit until the thing that bothered him was no more

"Riz I would advise you to talk with Kairi when you can"

"I know" The flying boy grunted "just...not right now, don't want to and there's no time either. What do you think happened last night?"

"Unknown, but whatever it was it has the Atlas military on high alert, I recommend you not to tread far away from the student designated areas."

"Fair enough" he nodded as he glanced at the pistol and picked it up, concealing it in the back of his hip. Deciding that carrying the knife in his thigh would be going too far on Goodwitch's clothing regulations, he had been scolded several times because of it. "Off I go..."

"Don't forget the scroll" the machine reminded him, the device beeping in the couch for him to notice.

"Thanks" he smiled as he pocketed the his scroll. Riz glanced at his surroundings for a moment before jogging his way out the hangar and closing the door behind him.

...

The elevator doors opened and all eyes were on the second year student. He glanced around, there was Ozpin in the middle, as always, and then Glynda at his side, not much of a surprise either, then there was someone else, someone he recognized through the pictures in his mother's house. Ruby, who looked quite bummed like this was the beginning of a bad day was standing in front of them, she raised an eyebrow when Riz saluted. "Good morning" he said, making his way to the middle of the room where he stopped at Ruby's side and bowed to the three adults.

"What are you doing here?" She whispered quietly, her lips not moving.

"I'm wondering the same" he answered in the same manner and cleared his throat to get the attentions of the three professors who were discussing about something. "Ahem!"

"Oh, sorry" Ozpin apologized as he pushed back his glasses to his eyes "Welcome, Riz. Glad you took your time"

"Yeah" The younger one said, putting his hands behind his back. "After all you did told me to get here asap"

"Hello, Mister Azure, It's a pleasure to meet you." the man in Atlas military attire and sober look took a step foward and held out a hand that Riz shook.

"Likewise" Riz said with a polite smile. "My mother has told me a great deal about you, General Ironwood. It's an honor" he nodded and went back to Ruby's side.

"How is Eril this days? I haven't been able to reach her these past months" The man asked, curiosity mixed with concern.

"She's doing fine, I haven't been visiting her so often but I believe I will today. Should I have the time, Headmaster Ozpin" he looked at his professor for aproval.

"But of course, yet first I need to uh..." He gestured with his hands a little bit "catch you up to speed"

"What happened?" He asked, seriousness taking over his expresions.

"It's best if Miss Ruby here does the explaining for us" Ozpin gestured at the little girl at Riz's side.

All of the eyes were on Ruby now.

"You...know what happened?" Riz raised his brow. "Are you hurt?"

"Other than my feet from those dumb heels no...but I was there, I encountered someone at the top of the tower." She began explaining the events past the previous night, this didn't sound unbelievable at all for Riz but he did was surprised none the less, he blinked, unconsciously activating his semblance as he processed Ruby's word, thinking of possible outcomes and implications. When she finished he blinked again and his right green iris turned back into his normal blue.

"I understand, so security was breached...still..." His head turned at Ozpin "This doesn't explains why I'm here nor the reason of why should I be aware of this if other students caught wind of this there would surely be panic."

"Yet you being calm disproves that theory" The general said.

"Not at all, general." Riz shook his head in a negative. Ruby's eyes widening along with Glynda's who never saw someone talk back to the general like that, James himself had a hard time to work out an answer but before he could Riz continued. "Allow me to elaborate, my semblance allows me to boost my...brain processing if I were to give an example think of a normal brain as a computer microchip then think of my brain using my semblance as a...super computer of sorts, I know what it sounds like but as of now I have considered thirty possible outcomes regarding the security breach along with fifty countermeassures to ensure safety to all personnel...however this considering that the perpetrator actually did manage to do something to the CCT." Ironwood and Ruby were left speechless. The residual effects of Riz's semblance still speaking for him, something that happened from time to time.

Ozpin however had a satisfied grin on his face. "Now you understand why I called him, James?"

The general nodded with a cough, still somewhat shocked. "Yes, I see...I must say I am impressed, Rizzer"

A small sharp pain on Riz's head made him close his eyes for a moment as he nodded his head. "I...thank you general, sorry for the disrespect though, didn't mean it...my semblance speaks for me sometimes, hard to keep it in check." He opened his eyes once again, a small flush on his cheeks.

The man from Atlas chuckled at his words and gestured a negative with his hand. "Don't worry, I understand mind semblances quite well if I do say so myself"

"In any case" Ozpin interrupted, not wanting to stray away from the conversation any further. "Is there something I'd like to ask of you, Riz"

"Yeah?" Riz crossed his arms, already wanting to get away from there.

"I believe you know your way around computers, created a personal artificial intelligence" The general's eyes widening again, Glynda's expression turned more somber oh the times she and Vis argued before along this semester. "I know this is kind...not totally professional from my part but do you think that you and Vis can check out the CCT's records?"

Riz swallowed, he didn't believed what he just heard. "I-I'm sorry, come again?"

"There will be an Atlas technician at all times with you should you need assistance, the Atlas cyberwarfare division has done everything in its power until now to check if there was something amiss and so far we got nothing" The general nodded his head, with more seriousness. "But it wouldn't hurt if someone else tried."

"I..." He thought of his options... "What you're asking is..." Ruby shared a concerned look to his upperclassman, the guy looked conflicted, she grabbed his hand in an effort to calm him down.

"You okay, Riz?" Her voice soothened his foggled thoughts, he breathed with a sigh.

"If you don't think you're up for it you should not-" Ozpin stopped talking when Riz held up his hand.

"You're asking me to delve into one if not the greatest information and data network across all Remnant...professor Ozpin you are aware of the implications that something like this would incur? First and foremost I'd have to upload Vis, an independent program that has not been tested outside the limits of the city and even less outside the kingdom, then she'd have to go through a very thourough research which could take days, weeks even...not even mentioning that if there is any kind of secret information lying around on error through the open channels of the net she could and certainly would find it and all of this not even mentioning that there's the posibility that we may not find anything at all" He had to take a breath, a pause.

Ozpin looking at him with a stern look on his face but that changed into a wise smile. "I aprove of this, as every other student on my school you have grown to be a better person, I trust you almost as I trust most of the staff here... yet the ultimate decision rests on your shoulders, if you feel like you're up for it. You two may go now and please meditate about this conversation."

"I..." Rizzer eyed at Ruby who only nodded with a look of uncertainty. He hardened his face as gave a slight bow. "I will think about it."

"Also" The general continued. "I believe it's best for all of us if you kept this to yourselves as well"

...

Ruby and Riz walked through the hallways, not speaking at each other...just pondering.

"What are you gonna do?" Ruby asked. Looking at his way, her eyes showing concern.

"Dunno know...this isn't a school project" he shrugged his shoulders. "If something goes wrong with Vis and she ends up doing something that they don't like it's my head on a pyke that for sure" his scroll buzzed, he reached for his pocket and grabbed it.

"I have to agree with Riz too" the machine talked through the speakers on the scroll. "Should I encounter any kind of malicious software and fail to it's termination it could infect and corrupt my system as well"

"That...sounds bad." Ruby said as her eyes looked down.

"Yeah, my scroll, Kairi's, my computer and some other old stuff in my mom's house are connected to Vis...if she gets corrupted there's no telling what could happen with all my info..." Riz sighed.

"Yeah, I can see how that wouldn't be good" the redhead nodded, she took Riz's scroll as she stared at the menu. "I really wouldn't like you to turn bad, Vis"

"I find myself confident on my capabilities to terminate foreing programs but I'm also conflicted with the idea of my own self-preservation"

"We all do, Vis...it's what makes us humans." The gray-haired boy smiled as he ruffled Ruby's hair, earning a soft and very cute squeal in response.

They kept talking and walking until Ruby stopped and handed the scroll back to Riz

"So...how did it go with my sister?" That question made Riz lose his cool, making him cough in response.

"Oh it went spectacular, we watched a couple of movies and then each of us took a spot on the couch to slee-"

"You two did the thing didn't you?" She looked at him with a severe look, she tapped the floor with her foot.

a nervous smile "y-yeah...we...we did the thing" he answered, if something was coming his way, more likely fist-shaped he probably deserved it for getting laid the first night, the first alone time he and Yang had. It was quick, he couldn't help but to admit. "I'm sorry" he hung his head.

"Well...Yang looked really happy and excited last night...I really like seeing her like that but don't mess it up" she warned the older student.

"Believe me it's the last thing I want, I'll talk to Kairi. I just need time to sort out my thoughts...about that and the CCT thing."

"Alright, so long as everything works out fine and Yang doesn't cry I won't tell Nora to break your legs" Ruby nodded her head, positiveness displayed on her face as Riz's felt a chill down his spine. "Here's my room, gotta go get ready for my mission" She said.

"Right, go do that. I'll see if I can catch some breakfast"

"Will you guys be there to see us off?" She asked with an adorable tone, earning a chuckle and a nod.

"Yeah, we'll be, all of us." He said, referring to his team. "See ya later Rubes" he began to walk his direction

"Bye Riz!" She said as she entered the her dorm as she waved her hand to him, he saluted in response as he made his way to the cafeteria

He found the coffee maker, tapped it and once he made sure the black liquid was still warm he poured himself a mug, most of the students were gone or leaving so spotting his two teammates was an easy task as he walked to their table and sat, earning a nod from Treynor, Irina was talking about something so Riz didn't bother to interrupt.

His thoughts drifted away for a moment as he stared into the mug, the black liquid and the small bubbles floating around, he sipped it. The CCT network, at his hand of course he had thought about it before, the posibilities, the chance to learn something about his past provided that it wasn't locked as classified info of course. He sipped. Maybe it wasn't really worth the shot, risking his integrity and Vis's for what it could be nothing at all, at the best of cases he'd be expelled, never to set foot on Beacon again and that would really suck...and at the worst of cases he'd be imprisoned for looking out sensitive data. Would that really be the case? He asked himself, had to be important if the only things he found was hidden on the dark net.

"I'm chasing ghosts again..." He muttered, luckily no one heard him. He licked his lips and took another sip. Not only that but there was also the risk of Vis getting either corrupted or outright deleted, that...he didn't want that to happen to her. Strange how he came to see her as a 'she', as a person. Some might think that an A.I. wouldn't have a sex definition, grasping the concept? Sure, but perceiving herself as one? probably not. That was only the voice module he installed after all, he'd definetely picture Vis as a man if he had used a male voice. The machine never said anything about it, about him calling her a 'she' when in all logic it should be an 'it' so it gotta mean something to Vis, something about her free will, something that he respected even if he created her. If Vis was reluctant to enter the CCT network so was he, he would not argue would not make her do anything that she didn't want even if he had the means which he did, her code was complex, deep rooted and had stretched far too long across the span of the year but he could still just write some kill commands on his keyboard and end her right there...or shoot the computers he had stacked behind the desk should the situation get really dire. It wasn't happening either way so he didn't give it too much thought.

"Riz?" The short blonde's voice made his eyes look their way.

"yeah?"

"Everything okay?" The look of worry on her face he noticed

He played it cool, like he always did. "Yup, just thinking about last night"

"Last night?" Treynor's brow raised in his question, earning a smirk from Rizzer "Oh...oh yeah" The big guy chuckled "How did that go?"

"Pretty well if I do say so myself. I think I may have gone a little too far though." the huntsman in training scratched his nose.

"how so?" Irina asked tilting her head.

"Didn't know she was a virgin" Was all he said. Rina's cheeks flushing and Treynor shaking his head in disaproval.

"God damn it Riz" Treynor said, his eyes looking away from the table.

"heheh" Was all he said as he leaned his back into nothingness a little bit. A winners smug on his face. "What can I say, I have my charm"

"Yes for attracting temperamental women, you have" the female said with a frown. "You still got to talk to Kairi"

"Yeah" Riz hung his head briefly before raising it. "I know"

"Rina told me what happened, dick move from Kiri but what you did is-"

"I know Trey" He said, glaring at his teammate "I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, just a real good looking one" Riz dropped his shoulders, leaving the mug on the table. "I just need to get my head straight, gather my thoughts."

"better do it quick then" Treynor blinked, looking at Riz's coffee with a sudden desire of one of his own. "She's coming back this evening, tomorrow's back on the clock for us." he continued as he got up and began walking towards the counter where the coffee maker lied.

"Some of the teachers are leaving for the training missions of the first-years" The girl said, looking at Riz "But that doesn't mean every teacher is leaving right now but we'll have more free time."

"Is Kairi skipping class today then? I mean if she's coming at the evening..." Riz asked watching Treynor sitting down with a happy huff and a mug of his own.

"Yep, she said she still wanted to be a little more with her family." The flying boy pondered at Irina's words for a moment.

"yeah, family" He chuckled, downing a fair share of the now cold caffeine-filled drink.

"You don't-"

"Yes, Rina, I know that I don't know what she might be doing right now...but after what I saw this saturday I just...don't really care anymore." He said the last part with a depressing tone. The other two teammates looked at each other with concerned faces.

"If you ever need to talk we are always here, y'know"

Rizzer felt a big hand squeezing his, he looked at his beefier teammate as he flashed a caring smile, Comforting Trey is not something that happened very often. he cherished this moment and nodded, his eyes looking more bright. "Thanks big man, preciate it"

Irina couldn't hold it anymore and a small flash made both of their male teammates look her way, she squealed in happyness as she stared at the photo she just took. "I'm gonna hang this on the wall of our dorm." The other two rolled their eyes in sinc as they all began to laugh.

A big commotion shaking other students around them, they caught up quickly. "What's going on?" Rizzer asked.

"Oh it's just Ozpin about to give his generic speech about freedom and equality and about how most of us young people are named after colors and stuff" Treynor earned an elbow from Irina, making him spit a bit of his coffee. "Rina!"

"Don't be mean! and let's go, I don't wanna miss this" The girl said as she got up from his seat and grabbed Riz's jacket from the collar and Treynor's hand.

"R-Rina wait, M-my coffee!" the big guy complained as he had to set the mug on the table for the staff to pick up.

"I'll make you one later, don't be a baby" She scolded the brawler, Riz stiffled a laugh as she dragged them across the hallways.

...

After Ozpin's speech, which was pretty similar to last year's, most of the student's scrambled around the hall looking for a mission on their own. The fact that the leader of KRTR wasn't present made them unable to choose an assignment of their own so they had to sit back and wait for the next day if they wanted to do something more exciting than classes. Although Ozpin would be very reluctant towards that idea since they only got back from a mission almost two weeks ago so they had to catch up on the classes and homework...and besides Rizzer was quite sure as hell he didn't want to be on his own with his team, his leader to be more precise.

He followed his friends to the courtyard as most of the first years from different schools got on their bullheads and headed out, mostly to Vale for their first training missions.

"Ahh, the memories." Treynor said as he used a nearby pillar as a support for his back.

"I think the expression you mean is 'ugh'." Riz corrected as he leaned on his left leg and rested his hands on the hips. "We had Port for our first mission remember?"

"Quite unfortunately, yes." Irina nodded her head with a solemn look on her face. "The man never stopped talking unless he was either eating or sleeping."

"At least you and Kairi didn't had to sleep with the guy, big motherfucker used up half the tent and Treynor's already big enough as it is!" Riz slapped the Sentinel's arm.

"Hey, don't hate me because of my complexity." Treynor snapped. "You had it easy, you got to sleep on the exit end where I got caught up in the middle between you too. Fatass smells like salami, and a rancid one at that"

"Oh fuck you! You stepped on my hand the morning after that" Riz snapped back at his teammate.

"That was only because you wouldn't wake up!"

"I couldn't hold my rifle properly for the next two days!" Riz threw his hands in the air, his voice holding an offended tone. Both of them looked at the blonde at their side who was currently disarming herself with laughter.

Treynor and Riz looked at each other again and sighed both flashing a smile to each other.

"We had good runs didn't we?" Riz said, his head lifting to stare at the skyes and the still rising sun.

"We still have. Got two more years ahead of us"

Azure clicked his tongue at the remark of his friend. His eyes looking more gloomy "yeap...that we do"

"It'll be okay, we'll get through this. Kairi's gonna be mad for a time and so are you but everything will turn out fine in the end." Irina said placing a hand on Riz's shoulder.

"If you say so" the boy answered, trying to reassure himself.

The sound of another bullhead landing got their attention, but the sight of the professor Bartholomew Oobleck pacing franctically towards it made them shudder. "Oh boy, suddenly I feel better about myself...and a lot more sorry about the poor people that has to go with him" The grey-haired boy said.

"I hear you" Irina nodded. "He looks like a man on a mission"

"Hope the mission does actually involve something more than history lessons" Sentinel shook his head.

More recognizable students began making their way out, JNPR, CRDL. Oh Riz smirked at the memory of him and Treynor flipping Cardin's face into the ground for making fun of Velvet's ears on the cafeteria. Lot of stares that day, also a glare from Goodwitch who ultimately said nothing to them as she suspected that the guy was a dick too...he had been more submissive these last months so they decided not to bother him or his team any further, all of this in hope that Velvet would tell their team how she got saved by the two and hopefully making Treynor score some points in Coco's book.

That didn't work out.

There was also team RWBY. The flying boy's lips perked in a smile as he glanced at the blonde brawler. He thought about saluting them but his place was a good one right now, he felt a nudge on his back from Irina.

"You ain't gonna say hi to her?" She asked.

"In a moment, this is a moment of team bonding peace and I'd like to enjoy it." Riz answered.

"Yeah he's right, Rina. Besides he already 'bonded' quite a lot with Yang last night" Treynor said, earning a stare from his other male teammate.

"Eat shit, Sentinel" he said.

The voice of an overexcited student resounded through the courtyard. "Look! CVFY team is back!" That got their attention as they all looked at each other and made their way to the landing aircraft and the four students who looked both tired but eager to get down from the bullhead.

The three second years approached with their praises already loaded up and ready to fire the way of CVFY but their faces changed when they noticed their friends expressions.

Something went wrong in that village.

RTR looked at each other with worried looks, failing to notice team RWBY approach a defeated looking Velvet.

"Velvet? Are you okay?" Blake asked with a concerned tone. Riz and the others looked at the interaction, slowly making their way towards them.

The bunny faunus lifted her ears and managed to deliver a small yet fake smile. "I'm fine, I had Yatsuhashi to look out for me" The bigger man that competed with Treynor in size with a nodachi on his back nodded silently and followed his other two teammates.

Treynor tapped Riz's shoulder, he responded by looking at his teammate with an eyebrow raised. The expression on Sentinel's face telling him he was out to check out on the others, Irina seemed to be eager to join him, Rizzer only nodded and tilted his head towards Coco and Fox, gesturing for them to go. He decided to stay and listen to the rest of the conversation.

"What happened?" The heiress asked, sounding a bit shocked. "Your mission was to supposed to end about a week ago!"

Scarlatina struggled to find an answer within herself "Nothing happened" Riz frowned at the lie. "There just...so many of them" her ears dropping a little.

He decided it was the moment to interrupt, stepping in between he placed a hand on Velvet's shoulder in a friendly manner "Okay, girls, I'm pretty sure Velvs need some time to rest. Why don't you get going to your bullhead?"

The faunus felt sweet relief as she grabbed the hand on her shoulder and flashed a weak but sincere smile too him.

The other four girls from RWBY nodded and continued they way before waving their goodbyes. Yang decided to stay a bit longer. "So uh, you friends?"

"We are, all of us actually" Velvet nodded. "It's quite the funny story actually"

"How so?" The blonde asked.

"Well, Kairi, Treynor and Yatsu are from Mistral so their...perception of faunuses were quite well...bad" Riz explained with a laugh that sounded fake even to him.

Yang frowned but Velvet seemed to get more upbeat. "Fortunately everyone got along in the end, although Coco and Riz did had to berate them constantly they all learned to be more understanding and respectful towards Fox and me." The faunus said a grin forming. "Now were all good friends!"

"Yeah, don't remind me though. My throath's still sore from all the yelling, nothing in comparison to having to sit through Glynda's neverending scold when I flipped Treynor on the cafeteria, I ended up breaking one of the tables." Riz chuckled as he shook his head.

"Wow" Yang looked a little astounded. "You guys actually got serious?"

"Let's just say that...there's no team without team issues, surely your team got the same problems." Azure said leaning on one side as he dropped his hand from Scarlatina's shoulder.

Yang let out a tired sigh "Don't even make me remember"

"Good thing you all get along now, same goes for everybody even if some teams struggle more than others." Velvet nodded her head, her ears looking as tall as ever.

"Talking about teams, you...should probably be going now. You're gonna love who's your huntsman" Riz said, making use of a side ability of his semblance to watch from afar at the other three.

"What do you mean?" Yang turned, she could see her friends and sister but she couldn't make the other one dressed in light brown that was infront of them.

"Best you see for yourself." The boy said as he approached the brawler and planted a bold kiss on her cheek. "Good luck, sunflower."

Yang swallowed and stared at Rizzer who held a smirk and Velvet that was looking the two of them rather confused. Her face heating up as she nodded with a smile. "Be seeing Yang, flying boy"

Riz's eye twitched a little at the horrible pun but decided to let it slide as he and Velvet waved them their goodbyes.

A little bit of time passed, realizing that Oobleck was their pro huntsman proved to be quite the shock for Yang as she only stood there for a moment before getting on. They watched the aircraft lift off from the ground and into the south, Riz decided to speak first. "Guessing Lower Cairn wasn't a tropical resort huh?" He looked ar Velvet and inmediately regreted saying that comment as he felt a shaky and timid hug.

"You...don't know the half of it" she said, Riz could clearly hear the tone she was using, how hard she was trying not to break apart. "Thank you...for the thing with the girls."

He sighed and put up the best smile he could as he gently pet her head with a hand. "It's okay...no need to thank me, B-hopps."

The redhair couldn't help but giggle at the nickname he had came up for her a long time ago. "Coco better not hear you saying that, she's not fond of that nickname. Also when did you get so attached to team RWBY?"

The question he was expecting, Velvet was a good girl, she never let anything escape her even if it was because of her efforts and devotion to being a huntsman or out of her more simple curious nature. "We got back around the time you went to your mission, Ozpin introduced us and gotta say...those one are quite the handful"

"Well we weren't exactly role models on our first year either" she put a hand on her mouth to smother another giggle, making Riz chuckle as they both began to walk inside the school.

"Point taken."

"So what's up with you and Yang...never saw you kiss a girl on the cheek other than-"

"Yeah..." He said, his tone of voice dropping so as Velvet's ears as she inmediately noticed that something was wrong.

She put a hand on his shoulder. "Wanna tell me?"

"Yeah, come on. Best to tell you with some food in between" he guided her towards the cafeteria with little to no excitement towards his soon to be new conversation topic.

"Why do I get the feeling that Coco's not gonna like this one bit?"

"Oh she won't, believe me. That's why you're gonna keep it a secret for now"

"Oh dear."

...

In his short life he had witnessed many things most teens his age haven't: having to fight for his life, his step-mother engaging in sexual activities with his former drunkard of a teacher, comforting his mother after said teacher dumped her, her stages of grief that came later upon the breakup, his foot serving as a snack for a nevermore, the most latest one and surprisingly the most common one being finding out that Kairi cheated on him and so on. Of all the things that happened he was quite surprised to know that his mother actually got her shit together so as he climbed up the stairs of a new apartment building and seeing the tidyness of the place a wave of relief washed over him...the only thing he at least expected was that her mother's place to be as clean as the rest of the building.

He pressed the button of her apartment and took a deep breath, preparing himself for the dissapointment soon to be bestowed upon him.

He knew his mom used to be a soldier, a proud one at that yet through the span of his time living with her he understood the hardships of a normal life and the...not most healthy ways of coping with them. Drinking was one of them, he got used to see his mom drunk, sometimes even shitfaced as she'd come late at midnight with a new 'acquaintance' she had met on a bar and proceeded to do whatever made her screech like an harpy in the room of their previous home, one of the many reasons Riz had decided to enlist himself into Beacon for a change of life despite her mother's very agressive verbal disapproval of the matter.

All in all they still loved and cared for each other.

The door opened and a fresh scent of lavender reaching out to his nostrils, a good sign of improvement. He smiled at this but the smile widened at the sight of his family.

"Hey baby, took you long enough" dark chocolate hair, she had dyed her hair. The bags and dark outlines under her dark-oranged colored eyes were no more as he remembered, she was wearing a black turtleneck sweater and a pair of blue jeans. Her joyful expression infecting the corners of his lips into a smile as he dropped the duffelbag he was carrying into the floor and let himself into her mother's arms on a heartwarming embrace. "I missed you"

"I'm home" was all he said as he reciprocated the hug. They stood like this for a minute or so, in silence as neither of the two felt a reason to break the moment until they eventually had to. "How are you?"

"Well, quite bored should I say. This whole thing of the dust robberies has been keeping me in my home more than I'd like too" she answered, peeling off from his son and looking at him at the eyes with a smile and a shrug of her shoulders. "But I'm still getting paid so I don't complain"

"You're still working as a cabby?" Riz lifted an eyebrow. "You know there are more appealing jobs you certainly are qualified to do with a resume of your kind. Maybe I can help you with that" he offered, Eril waved it off.

"Nah, I like where I am right now, I like talking to strangers and that's mostly why I took the job"

"Wow, talking to strangers out of bed, that's an improvement." Her mother didn't found her son's joke that funny as she hit him with a karate chop right on the top of the head, Rizzer winced in pain. "Ow! okay. Point taken."

"I see you're still the same smartass brat you were when you left my house. Should try improving yourself for a change, did wonders on me" His mother smiled as he grabbed the duffel bag and invited his son in.

He obliged as his eyes scouted the place. "On that we can agree" he nodded. It was normal sized although a bit small. The entrance soon turned into the living room that was also the dining hall, there was a squared shaped table for four, only three chairs though. At the side of the table there was a black couch that had a modern style yet it looked really comfy, infront of the couch was a big led screen, maybe thirty-five inches he guessed, the screen sat on top of a black counter that was protected by a big white doyle so that the legs of the T.V. wouldn't scratch the wood, the counter had drawers and one was barely open revealing some dvd's and movies along with the logo of his old R-BOX Series R Premium Remnant Edition, his mom and Qrow's gift for when he turned sixteen, sure there are more advanced consoles on the market but that baby still was a competent system.

"C'mon, have a look around. I'll leave your stuff over the couch. What did you brought anyways?" His mother asked.

"Just Windbreaker, I used it to fly all the way down here"

"You armed?" She raised an eyebrow and put a hand on her hip, her lips perking up into a smile as he watched his son pull out his pistol out of his waist.

"Always" he smirked

"That's my son" she nodded in approval as she went past him and dropped the bag on the couch and headed to one door on the left side of the house.

There were four doors total, he assumed that one had to be the bathroom and there was a nice smell coming from the one she entered so he decided to tag along as they entered the kitchen, rather simple one, small but well equiped and had what he assumed to be one of her mom's most precious possesions. The coffee machine. There was something cooking in the oven, the smell was something something...chicken like?

"Hope you like turkey"

"Beats the hell out of instant noodles and delivery pizza" his comment made her mother chuckle.

"Oh come on don't be like that, I was quite overwhelmed with a lot. You were growing so, so fast and I had a lot of work too." She pouted at his son.

"Still, handing your son a three hundred bucks and telling him to buy dinner for himself four days a week isn't exactly the most responsable thing to do. You know I could've buyed weed or something with that shit" He said with a smirk, he wasn't being serious, Eril knew this.

"But you didn't" she said with a lovely smile yet her eyes were giving a whole different message. "Because you knew if you did that I'd have beated the shit out of you within an inch of your life."

Riz felt a chill down his spine as he opened the fridge "yeah, I know."

"Want a beer? Have plenty"

"Punching me over marijuana but giving beer to your kid that's not above the legal age of drinking? Mother of the year ladies and gents" He looked at her with a brow raised.

"Oh fuck off, like you don't secretly drink at school or on your missions." She rolled her eyes. "Save the good student act for Ozpin. You're my son alright.

His head tilted at the side as he grabbed two bottles and closed the fridge "Fair enough." He uncapped them with the metal of the small wrist pad from Windbreaker, a satisfying hiss coming from them he handed one bottle to his mother as he took a swig on the other one. "Nice place you got"

"Really?" She asked as she grabbed the bottle while flashing a smile on her boy. Most of the lines on her face indicating patterns of bad sleeping and even some from age were gone yet she still had the facial features of a mature woman. There was no makeup also, he could tell, just plain' old mom doing better, he was happy for it. "It's smaller than our other house, and nowhere near a spa either but..."

"I know, it feels like a home" he nodded. looking around at how clean and neat everything was, nothing like his hangar but it had the same feeling to it. A place where she could kick back and relax. "How much did it cost? This a pretty populated area in the center and for the looks of the building it's rather recent too"

"It kinda hurt a little bit" Eril nodded, drawing out a kitchen knife to which to cut the animal inside the oven. "Had to use everything I had from when I sold the house, also had to sell some of your old ingeneering stuff, hope you don't mind. I rented a storage deposit in the warehouse district for the other things that didn't sell, I'll give you the key later."

"Nah, got tons of shit in the school too and far more space to fiddle, don't worry. Ozpin hooked me up with a broken dropship a few months ago so I've been trying to repair it as a hobby and side project."

"Oh wow" She looked at Rizzer with wide open eyes. "My son's becoming just like me, huh? Repairing stuff, scoring girls and drinking alcohol. Careful there champ, one way road you're heading into." A devilish smirk that made her son flush.

"Y-yeah...I think that so long I get to be up there" he pointed at the ceiling with his finger, Eril knew what he meant. "I'll always have a place in the world, no matter where it takes me"

"Starting to speak like little ol' me as well." Her mother chuckled as she chugged her bottle, left it on the counter and embraced her son without warning. "A helpless romantic"

"Shut up, mom" he said as he hugged the older woman back.

"So" she let go and placed her hands on his shoulders. "How's school, any crazy shenanigans with your team? Vis told me you were banging that Kairi chick from your team. C'mon I want to know!" She seemed so upbeat yet her face changed when she noticed a faint signal of distress in her son's face who quickly tried to hide it. "Did...did something happen?"

He put his bottle on the counter and sighed, boy this was going to be a rough one...but in the end he did come to see her for advice on girls. "I uh...remember Qrow?"

"How could I not? Drunk bastard owes me like ten thousand lien. What about him?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Well...turns out she has two nieces" He said, trying his best not to choke on his own words.

"I think I remember him saying something about them Yang and... Rudy?"

"Ruby" he corrected, he saw a stool lying on the side, his feet moved on his own as he pressed his butt against the firm wood and clasped his hands together. "the two of them are in Beacon too, on their first year."

"Oh! That's actually quite nice, are you friends with them? I hope you're not out to bully you underclassmen or anything." A stern look from his mother fell under his head as he quickly shook his head.

"N-no! Not at all...quite the contrary we are all friends with my team an all...thing is that Yang and I...well there was this mid-year dance yesterday that Kairi decided to skip out to go on the city with her parents."

The retired soldier nodded with a "mmhm" carefully listening to his son.

"So I was really reluctant to go but the Yang girl offered me to go as her partner...and I...I mean we uh...after the dance was over we..." His face red crimson, his words getting lost in his muttering.

Yet his mother understood alright, she understood everything as the most evil-filled and devious of grins grew between her lips. A maniatic laugh escaping, one that gave her son the creeps.

"M-mom?"

"Finally!" She yelled as she looked at the ceiling with her arms up in the air. "Thank you lord! Thank you for this great moment of joy in my life!" Were those...tears? As she continued to laugh like a madwoman. "I've been waited for so long soooooo long in the cold, waiting to get back at that fucking piece of shit Qrow!" Wait what? Riz was more confused now than never in his entire life but somehow in a real strange and fucked up way he made some sense into the things she was saying "What better news to a mother than hear that his son drilled the niece of that drunk two-faced dipshit! AhhhAHAHAHA! JUST YOU WAIT UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN QROW! JUST YOU FUCKING WAIT!"

Rizzer's facial expressions dropped into a tired and upset look as he slapped his face with his hand as he asked to himself if his mother was mentally disabled or if god, whoever that was, just hated his guts.

"There's the crazy bitch I remember"

"Hey stuff it you, let a mother have a moment of glory for raising her son" Eril said, dropping the act and grabbing her bottle of beer once again.

"Maybe it's for the better, if the two of you had a fight like that perhaps it's the time to let her go. I don't really got to know your teammates that much but that Kairi kid seemed really nice...whatever happened between you two must've been a lot for her to handle and I'm not blaming you, she knows you've been through some bad stuff and that you need to sort it out. she'll understand that, has to if she already did what she did. It was bad yeah but she's a teenager so much as you."

He pondered over the advice of her mother as he turned on his scroll once again. Looking around the messages and some missed calls. Yang was not among them, probably don't have any reception on Mountain Glenn.

"If this Yang girl's really good as you say perhaps it's time to move on, to be with someone who understands your problems and wants you to face them. You should never run away from them...but also should never be alone when standing up to them. If Yang's wants to be with you and help you then I guess that's the right thing to do so long as you're there for her as well. Everyone has their own issues and it's a...it's real hard to face them on your own. Give it a try, talk to Kairi like a man and sort things out, worst case scenario you'll get a slap on the face."

Well she was right, he couldn't deny it. Probably best for him to let go of someone that wasn't able to understand his situation, only bound to go downhill. His relationship with Kairi was not a bad one, not at all, but there were those moments. She'd usually tell him to stop worrying but it wasn't simple...she didn't understand whereas Yang did...

The answer was pretty simple.

He sighed and looked for her conversation with the Neo girl. Still not a reply, maybe she couldn't or didn't in fear that he might track her position which he could but not from her mother's couch.

Vis was nowhere to be seen though he was pretty sure that if he said her name out loud in front of the scroll she'd pop out, but he didn't want to annoy her. Best left her to her own devices for now, let her sort out the existential crisis of being a sentient being. He knew he had other troubles to think about anyways.

Out the corner of his eye he spotted his game console inside the open drawer. "I should kick back maybe, not feeling like sleeping right now"

It was 11:21, his mother had gone to bed and left him a pillow and some blankets to sleep on the couch that felt as comfortable as it looked, he felt good for that. Standing up and going to the fridge he found a can of soda, wasn't diet but he took what he could get so long as it wasn't alcohol.

Connecting the system proved to be no difficult task as the T.V. had all the right sockets. He connected the HDMR cable and nodded as he pressed the power on button on his R-BOX. Fiddling with the menu he signed up on his account remembering how hard was to type numbers and letters using a joystick.

There was multiple saves of one game in particular, his favourite game, the one he had replayed so many times he had memorized the entire map along with the extra map of the DLC. A grin splitting his face. "Just a couple hours...what harm can it do?" He asked himself as he pressed the button on his joystick and selected the game 'The Hunter 3: Wild Persecution' The screen went black for a moment as he delved into the world of an ancient Remnant were magic and monsters lied for him to find.

...

The earth vibrated violently, throwing him off the couch and prompting him to wake up. He did inmediately as he stood in a split second with his hands on the air on a fighting stance, his eyes looking at his surroundings only to find nothing aside some knocked decorations. "Fuck was that?!" He asked as he grabbed his scroll "Vis?!"

He heard the door from his mother bedroom open up her grey and white night camisole and her messy hair from a good night of sleep didn't stop her from already being on her toes as she was holding a pistol rather similar to his aside from the signet on the handle. "Riz? What happened?" She look confused, as much as he was right now.

"I-I don't know" he shook his head. "Maybe a construction work" the sounds of people screaming could be heard from the outside along as the grimm alarm that went off.

"Rizzer" he heard his scroll talk.

"Vis?! What the hell is going-"

"There has been a grimm breach two blocks from here."

"What?!" Her mother yelled. "Were in the middle of a residential zone how could the grimm be here?"

"It seems that a train crashed through a sealed underground tunnel that connected directly with the abandoned Mountain Glenn settlement." The machine explained. Riz felt a cold chill, and inmediately jumped at his boots to put them on, good thing he kept his prothesis on for sleeping.

"Wha- but how could they-"

"It's a long story, mom. Involves the White fang and the dust robberies, tell you everything when I get back. Vis call my rocket locker to the place of the crash, and call Ozpin too, were gonna need backup." Picking up the sidearm that he left on the dinning table on the night, he cursed himself mentally for not bringing his rifle too.

"Already done the first, ETA ninety seconds, I suggest you hurry. I'm trying to contact Headmaster Ozpin as we speak"

"Good girl" Riz smiled, reaching out for his duffel bag he opened it and pulled out Windbreaker. Her mother got close and helped him strap in so he wouldn't lose as much time.

"This reminds me of me in my young time, having to get dress over an emergency call to get into a jet." She smirked, as she finished to tighten the last strap "you better tell me what the hell's going on later"

"Be sure to do that mom" he nodded as he latched onto her mother, the woman reciprocated for a moment but then she ran to a window and opened it wide.

"Can you slide through this?"

"Yep, not a problem." He said as he placed a foot on the window and peeked his head out. "Hey mom"

"Yeah?" She had to lower her head to look at his son's smirk.

"I love you, I'll be sure to drop by again soon"

"I love you too, Rizzie." she squeezed his hand before letting him go.

His jets came into life as he dropped himself into the void and quickly rised into the sky, heading out to the place of the emergency Riz pulled out his pistol.

...

Screams and cries for help he heard, his objective changing as the jets of windbreaker guided him through the streets. He found a group of young people about to be attacked by two beowulfs. "Vis! Grimm countermeassure two, now!" he put his left hand behind his back and from his jetpack a small compartment opened and ejected a hand-sized red and yellow container into his fingers.

"Deploying hand grenade"

He dived into the streets and flipped himself in the air with the use of the thruster, planting his two feet into the beowulf that was about to slash at the civilians, the kick was powerful enough to send the grimm flying a couple meters away. The other monster changed it's target to the student and opened his mouth to take a bite onto the huntsman in training however this proved to be a mistake as Riz was already backpedaling, as his jets deactivated and backflipped out the way of the jaws, taking advantage of the momentum he sommersaulted the black creature over it's head with a pull from the pin of the cannister and he force-fed the monster a tasty live grenade. Shoving the grimm away with a shoulder bash the grimm landed near among others of the same species before going off with a loud explosion that disintegrated the evil creature and those who were the same as it.

A terrifying howl could be heard but it was quickly cut short as Riz pulled his handgun and drived three bullets into it's head with deadly accuracy, not even using his semblance. He turned back to the bystanders who were cheering for their savior, his face looking serious. "Run people! Out of the streets!" He shouted as the civilians quickly dispersed. He looked back as he could hear sounds of gunshots and more grimm. His thrusters activated once more as he began to run and eventually fly over the pavement of the streets as he lifted his feet of the ground. "Vis, where's my gun!?"

"Currently approaching the ground, sixty meters ahead. turn to the right into the square." The machine commanded, it's owner obeying as he encountered the residential square turned into a battlefield. The RWBY team fighting the Grimm already as he saw a big hole into what was supposed to be a wall, a train that had crashed through it. "Not good." His eyes drifted into a certain blonde who proppelled herself into the air with the help of her shotgun bracelets as she fired hell upon the grimm from below, killing many in the process, yet failling to spot the three small nevermores that were behind here ready to attack.

She turned around to see them thinking that it was best to brace for an impact that never came thanks to Rizzer's skill with handguns as he held his smoking sidearm with both arms. Her smiles curving up as she waved her hand as she descended. Riz responded with a vague salute that had to be interrupted due to an ursa trying to smash him, getting out of the way with a backflip he held himself with a handstand and fired at the beast with his free hand. The ursa recoiled back a bit as Riz grabbed a hold of himself and smirked. "Sorry bud, no huntsmen snack for you" something whistling in the air quickly cut through the bear-like grimm exactly in half and embedding itself into the ground before him.

"Rocket locker deployed, Hornet ready for combat." Vis said through his scroll as the flying boy ran into the opening locker and pulled both his rifle and helmet with a new red coloured transparent visor.

"Riz!" Ruby lifted her hand as she shot a grimm and used the recoil to eject herself to where he was. She began to provide covering fire for Riz who was grabbing the magazines of his weapon and fitting them into the pouches of Windbreaker in his lung area and his waist. "How are you here so fast?"

"I was in the neighborhood...again." He pulled out his pistol and fired into an on coming beowulf killing it on the spot. His voice seemingly upset. "Thought I gave you that paper so that the white fang couldn't pull something like this!"

"sorry" The redhaired girl pouted, shooting another grimm with her sniper. "Things got lot more complicated than we're used to"

"Oh I can see, I'm standing right in the middle of it." The satisfying sound of the bullet entering the chamber of Hornet, as he pulled the receiver. He took a knee for more accuracy and began to fire alongside the girl. "Take it you know what to do then?"

"Keep people safe and kill lots of grimm?" She raised a brow with a smile.

"Good girl" Riz smirked though it was short lived as a King Taijitu rised from the debris and let out a ear piercing screech. "Puh...Well that's no good." He cursed, shifting his stance to face the giant beast but it proved to be shortlived as a laughing bright pink shadow flew past them and smashed the head of the taijitu into the ground.

Nora laughed as she repositioned herself with the arriving JNPR team.

"Huh, I'll take that any day" Riz mumbled as he felt a looming shadow over him, he pushed Ruby out of the way who screamed with a yelp. He received a fierce slash into the back that made him stumble several steps back, damaging his aura.

"Riz!" He heard Ruby's yell

Rizzer turned around to see a very angry ursa that growled at him with piercing red eyes. "Nasty move, big guy." He taunted cracking his neck as he hid his pain from the hit. The ursa suddenly dropped to it's knees and to the floor as a blond guy pulled out the sword from the grimm

"You okay there?" Jaune asked. Riz shifted his weight into a more relaxed stance.

"Better than ever" He nodded, the light of the sun revealing his smiling face over the red visor. "On to it" He commanded, earning a nod from the underclassmen that ran into battle with a battlecry.

His ears picked on something, he shifted his gaze to a far corner of the street. The cries of a child that was trying to crawl away from an alpha beowulf. His feet moving faster than his jets as he sprinted and raced his way to the beast, his weapon extending into his battlespear form as he threw it and impaled the grimm into the wall of a building.

The student ran to the girl and kneeled in front of her. handing out a hand for her "It's fine, you're safe now"

The little browned-haired girl smiled weakly but her irises quickly shrinking with terror as she screamed "BEHIND YOU!"

Riz's eyes widened, the hair on the back of his neck straighened as he saw another shadow in the ground at the side of the girl. His semblance shifted his right iris into green telling him that his sidearm was too far, his hand drifted into his right foot as he pulled a small knife hiding in his boot that was resting alongside his prothesis. His waist turning in a complete 180 as he guided the blade into the beowulf's skull yet upon realizing that another one was jumping above it's dead comrade his semblance screamed at him to get out of the way yet he didn't listen as he recoiled back to were the girl was to protect her as he held up his left arm as a last line of defense he felt the pressure of death coming fast...but when the grey-haired opened his eyes he only saw the second beast lying dead on top of it's partner with two yellow arrows in the back.

"Hah! That surely get's me bonus points" He heard Irina's voice on the comms in his helmet. Riz lifted his gaze to see her blonde teammate waving happily at him with her bow from the top of the building on the far corner of the square.

Riz let out a sigh filled with relief as he waved back "'Preciate the save, thanks Rina" He got up on his feet pulling out the knife from the grimm's head and back into his boot again. Riz turned to the girl and helped on her feet. "You okay?"

"Yes!" The little girl nodded with a cute smile. "thank you, mister."

Rizzer suddenly felt more old upon hearing that, he only shrugged it out and pointed to the streets where other civilians were. "Go, we'll handle things here" The child nodded as she turned around and began to ran away from the scene.

"Well, well...look who's good with kids" He rolled his eyes under his helmet upon hearing a familiar voice over the comms.

"Very funny, Coconut." Riz said as he pulled Hornet out the disintegrating Ursa.

"Ugh! Told you to stop calling me that!" The CFVY leader stomped her foot on the floor of the incoming bullhead.

"Then perhaps might be a good time to start considering changing your name" The gray-haired student retorted as he could heard another audible "Ugh" and several giggles from Fox.

"Enough you too" His smiled dropped when he heard Kairi's voice. "Rizzer, how are you doing on aura?"

The use of his first name didn't surprised him much, he took a second but managed to respond. "I'm good, lot of fire in me yet."

"Good" The leader of KRTR nodded. "time to give the first years a break then. Trey, Yatsu, Rizzer, Rina let's razzle and dazzle"

His jets fired up as he soared into the skyes, the sight of the coming bullhead with the six of his friends, plus the professor Port, passed as he watched Treynor and Yatsuhashi land in the middle of the skirmish and quickly being surrounded by at least two dozens of grimm from all sides.

"Fifteen bullets" Riz speaked over the comms as he changed Hornet into it's rifle form and swapped magazines.

"Five arrows" Irina said as she grabbed five yellow arrows with the tip being silver-coloured and prepared her bow

"Fox and I will handle the other four." Velvet said as she and Fox glanced at each other and nodded.

The two big friends looked at each other with a smirk on their faces as they pulled out their weapons and smashed them into the ground creating a giant shockwave that lifted all the monsters into the air.

Riz's semblance kicked in as he began to tap the trigger in a quick succesion, each time with a different target, each bullet hitting it's mark on the air; Hornet letting out a 'clack chink' noise when the final bullet left the chamber. The blonde girl let loose of the string of her bow firing and finding the head of a different grimm. Three grimm were quickly slashed by Fox as Velvet began to throw a flurry of martial art combos into the last one.

Still the fight wasn't over as a deathstalker tried to attack Velvet from behind only for it's stinger to be stopped by Kairi and her whips. "Oh sorry, did I interrupt something?" She said as she put more strenght into the matter, swinging her arms and lifting the scorpion-like grimm and throwing it in Treynor's way who delivered a nasty blow with his axe and swinging it into the air once more. Riz and Irina both lifted their weapons with fresh ammo and fired, each projectile hitting each eye of the beast that dropped dead into the ground.

"bullseye" Riz nodded approvingly as Irina jumped with excitement however Rizzer's eyes went wide when he saw the giant shadow behind the blonde. "RINA!"

The small girl quickly turned around and her happy expression changed into one of panic. "Oh poops" The giant nevermore screeched, gaining everyones attention as it swiped the yellow-dressed girl's from her right leg and soared into the air trying to make it's escape. "AHHHHH HEEELP MEEEEEE!"

"RIZZER!" Kairi shouted in anger upon seeing her friend in distress.

"ON IT!" He yelled back, Windbreaker making true to it's name as the jets shouted with more anger than ever before. "Burn it down Vis!" He ordered.

"Acknowledged, initiating main engine burst burn" The A.I. said with her ever calm tone. Riz let go of all the air in his lungs as he braced for the violent stream of fire that turned from yellow to to a bright blue. "Be advised, your dust-imbued clothes will not be able to keep you safe from the fire of the jets, aura depletion has begun"

"Don't matter" He managed to say, thankful enough that at least the visor was protecting him from the fierce gusts of air that kept his arms locked against his chest to preserve the aerodinamic.

"Warning. Approaching Mach velocity, the human body was not designed to engage on this speed with propper safety-"

"I know Vis, Keep it going!" His breathing was shaky, his grip steady as he activated his semblance, draining his aura even more faster.

The flying bastard was fast, Riz gave it that as the both engaged in a race for Irina who kept screaming and shaking her arms and legs, trying to free herself from the nevermore's grasp.

"Riz slow it down! Your aura is in the yellow and dropping fast!" Kairi said as she held her scroll looking at her teammates aura status.

Everyone was staring up at the skyes with scared looks, some of them were holding their breath while other tried to shoot at the nevermore in the hope to take it down without hitting the blonde hanging from it's claws.

"Rizzer you gotta stop!" Treynor said "You're gonna burn off"

"Don't lecture me on jet lessons, big guy. I got this" Riz responded once more, every breath becoming more painful than the last one. With a swift move he shifted his rifle into spear, the tip detracting along the staff making it more sharp as it adjusted with the aerodinamic.

The nevermore was fast yet he was faster. He only needed to get close and personal with the damned thing.

Their teammates along with the other people in the ground were panicking.

"Riz stop it! You're gonna hurt yourself!" Yang yelled.

"Huh! How did you get in our comunications?!" Kairi turned her head to glare at RWBY teams brawler.

"Vis gave me permission what do you care?!"

"Why do I care?! It's my team, MINE. You shouldn't meddle in things that you doesn't-"

"RIZ HELP ME!" The desperate cry for help from Irina was the last straw.

"SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTHS, EVERYONE!" His shout was followed by a pained groan. "Vis cut them off!"

"Ending transmition now. Danger, your aura is dangerously low, five seconds until complete depletion" Vis said but he ignored as he prepared.

He raised the weapon in his hands, aiming at the nevermore. The beast turned to face him, a smile cracking on his lips. "Sky's my turf, birdie. You ain't allowed in it." He pressed the trigger trigger lying at the spear, making it fire a bullet that ignited the combustion dust on the blade and turning it into a flaming and very sharp long weapon.

The flying grimm never realized the great mistake that was to engage on a living projectile that was travelling at the speed of sound with a fire dusted spear on it's hands. Rizzer went right through the chest of the giant grimm as if cutting butter with a knife, splitting the monster in half.

The claws opened, freeing Irina who held up her arm in the skyes as she watched her friend slowing down and grabbing her hand in an instant with a swift move in the air.

Windbreaker began to cool, his aura flickering in an out. His semblance going off. The race was over.

He had won.

But he almost didn't. Good thing he didn't waste any time in chasing the grimm. Rizzer sighed and removed his helmet with his other free hand as they slowly began their descend. He wiped the sweat on his forehead using his arm. His body began to feel the strain of going at the speed of sound. "How are you?" His voice also sounded wrong, maybe from all the shouting.

"I'm okay...I'm good..." Irina said latching on his arm she climbed her way and hugged his chest with a deadly grip. "And I'm never taking position on top of an apartment...ever again"

"Don't you mean..." His lips curving into a shit-eating smirk. "Nevermore?"

She didn't say anything right away, she only stared at him with a desire to punch him in the face but she knew that if she did he'd probably let her fall for a second or two before catching her again. Irina Silden have had enough of the sky for a life time. "I hate you so much right now" he laughed, his voice cracking while doing so. She rolled her eyes as she sighed with relief. "Thank you...that would've been the end of me."

"Now were even" Riz said, smiling with a more relaxed tone. "And I would've saved you either way."

She hugged him once more, trying to calm her nerves as her heart was still trying to claw it's way out of her chest. A moment passed and her face began to turn a little green. "Can we get to the ground faster? I starting to feel sick"

He said nothing as they began to descend much more faster, touching the ground in mere seconds Irina fell to her knees and smiled.

"Ground! Solid ground! Thank you, lord oh thank you so mu- B-BLEEERGHH" poor thing couldn't hold it anymore. Riz chuckled as the others started to congregate around them.

"You did it!" Ruby said with cheerful tone.

"Course I did. Who do you think you're talking to?" He raised an eyebrow he received the praises that he honestly didn't think he deserved, as he only shrugged them off as they started to feel uncomfortable. Soon after his fingers began to grow numb as he let go of his helmet, his legs gave out and needed to take a seat. His rear suddenly greeting the ground as everything started to look fuzzy around him.

"Rizzer?! Oh god are you okay?" Yang quickly kneeled beside him, grabbing his hand.

"Y-yeah..." Was the only thing he was able to muster. "Don't worry..."

Kairi and Treynor also made their way to him and crouched at his side. He felt a woman's hand on his shoulder.

"Riz? How do you feel?" Kairi asked, filled with concerned. She felt the stare of a certain younger blonde but shrugged it off.

"Oh you know..." He said in a drunken state. "Like someone who... surpassed the speed of sound. I just...I just need a moment to rearrange my guts a little. I think that my heart and lungs are somewhere along my rectum." That comment made Yang and Treynor burst with laugh.

Kairi chuckled at the words of her former lover. "Okay, don't worry. Take your time, everything's fine now. Oh and we should talk about something later so better rest while you can." She lifted herself from the ground and walked over Irina to check on her.

"Great, I just-...gonna lie here for a while...I think I'm gonna need a moment...or two." He tried to get up but failed, Yang catched him just in time before he felled into his ass once again.

"I got you" the blonde said, pressing his head against her chest. "Easy now, deep breaths. You lost a lot of aura."

"Y-yeah..." He nodded, finding the simple task of moving his head up and down more painful than he remembered. He grabbed a hold of the blonde's shoulders and leaned on her. He put the best of his efforts into calming himself and recovering his stability. "Hey Ruby, you there?"

The redhaired girl walked over the pair that was sitting on the ground and kneeled at his side. "Yeah?"

"Remember when I told you that...you first had to get used to flying?"

"Yes. I guess I know now what you were trying to say."

"Ye-heah..." He nodded. "Too much effort, lots of barfing..." Yang and Ruby narrowed their eyes with disgust. "Good views though, to die for."

"Great thing you didn't die. You big dummy" Yang patted his back earning a groan of pain.

"I think you just touched my liver, oh god..." He stretched himself with pain in the floor, still grabbing the blonde's arm though.

"Oops, sorry"

"I'll uh...leave you two alone now" Ruby said as she went back with her team.

"You doing better?" Yang looked down at the face of his...acquaintance who nodded.

"Better, now I can actually feel my face." He lowered his voice so only she could hear. "Funny...don't seem to remember how your lips felt on my own"

Yang giggled, hugging the flying boy a little more closer. "That's so bad...maybe I'll remind you later, in the night on your hangar if you're alone."

"Well...maybe I'll be alone at my hangar tonight" he said, his eyes looking at hers with a smirk.

"Maybe I'll drop by then"

"Maybe you could spend the night with me, maybe I could use the company."

"Maybe I will" Yang said, her smile looking bright as ever. His heart was working alright.

...

He finally was able to walk on his own so decided to have a look around. Goodwitch had restored the square and the hole which grimm poured in so that was good. He felt a buzz in his pocket, he pulled out his scroll and opened the new message he received.

"Sorry I was dealing with business stuff. Saw you flying too, you have something really good going on."

The message from Torchwick's girl, he chewed on his lip as he thought of a response.

"The whole train thing, take it was your doing?"

It took her only a moment to reply.

"Not exactly, you don't wanna get involved in that. Best to stop asking questions about it."

Riz took a deep breath. Closing his eyes for a moment he thought of something. The thing he meant to ask from the beginning.

"Were you on the pits of Atlas when you were a child?"

She didn't answer inmediately, Neo pondered in the screen as she fiddled with the keyboard of her scroll a little.

"Yes."

Rizzer swallowed. He gasped very lightly, he decided to take a seat.

"When you were in there...did you met a kid that the grown ups called the ripper?"

Neo's heart thightened as she clutched the phone with her hands, small drops of water began to fall on the screen.

"Yes."

He was biting too hard on his lip, it was hurting. He quickly typed.

"I was the ripper."

Her hands became shaky, so did her breathing. Good thing she was a mute. Neo stared at the screen as she dried the tears with her fingers.

"I know."

"Glad to know that you're alive" she continued to tap franctically.

"Can't keep talking. Got to leave now. I'll contact you later."

Before he could type a propper response she had already disconnected her scroll, his message didn't got through.

"Be careful" He pressed send...yet she didn't got to read it.

Neo scribbled down his number and pushed the paper into her pocket. She dropped the scroll into the ground and stomped it with her feer, multiple times until there was nothing left to be salvaged.

Author's note: Hello everybody! just wanted to let you guys know that updates are going to be coming a little more slow than usual as I figure out some plot points, canon diverge and storytelling stuff that I've yet to look into.

As of right now I have two more chapters done because I have this rule of being at least three chapters ahead of what is actually being published so I have the time to edit the most that I can of a chapter I may have written a week ago and that way don't feel like i'm over doing myself by looking through the same chapter iver and over again.

The upcoming chapters are going to be a longer than the usual because I am kinda of stepping up my game as I'm trying to play with different changes of pace and scenarios. Usually writting a chapter takes in between the span of 4 to 6 days depending my mood but as of late I've been taking almost a week or sometimes even longer and that's not because I feel like I am overworking myself or anything but because I actually have lots of ideas that I want to pour into one single chapter and that ends up with me writting a lot more than usual which leads to more editing and stuff.

So long story short don't panic. Chapters are done and will still be uploaded but I just want time to figure out the ideas that I want to implement and the ones that sadly will have to let go of. So far everything is been going good and strong and I intend to keep it like that. Hopefully you will enjoy the ideas that i've prepared for future as the story continues to develop.

If you have any criticism, ideas or opinions about the story so far I'd be glad to hear it out too. Don't be a stranger.

See you all probably on next friday. Take care.
