Chapter 80: Epilogue Part 2
Even though Sam, Paul, and Jared went through mating season before others phased, only Sam and Jared experienced it with their imprints. It took few weeks for things between Jacob and Sam to become comfortable enough for Jacob to ask Sam how his experiences were with mating season. Sam said that only he and Jared experienced mating season with their imprints since their imprinting were romantically based. The reason that neither of them were blessed with children was since there was danger from Victoria. Since Sam have been spending more time by himself before he got together with Emily, he was doing some soul work by going through multiple spirit walks. From what he learned; the spirits won't blessed the wolves when the spirit warriors are in constant threat so that the spirit warriors would be able to focus on protecting their tribe. It is in the wolf spirit's nature to protect their family and mate before protecting their tribe, so when there are danger and some of the spirit warriors have families, it is the wolves with no imprints or wolves with non-romantic imprints that protects the tribe. Only the wolves with romantic imprints can have children through the mating season because not every non-spirit warrior can carry the wolf genes even with the blessing of the spirits. For this reason, it is more commonly seen that the spirit warriors get together with a Quileute or the sister tribe, the Makah tribe because it was among these groups of people that spirit warriors with the wolf spirit were born.
However, it doesn't make it right for the Quileutes to reject outsiders or look towards them with skepticism when they are imprinted by the spirit warrior. Only rarely when individuals who are not Makah nor Quileute can carry children with the wolf gene.
I still had so many questions. What about the unmated wolves or wolves with imprints that are not romantic? Do they go through mating season? Thankfully, Sam was able to provide it to Jacob, Leah and I. Anyone with the wolf spirit will go through the sexual tension in mating season, but as in for those wolves, the sexual tension is not as intense for the wolves with romantic imprints since they are not reproducing at that time.
Then I asked how was I able to conceive without mating season? Sam said mating season is not the only time to conceive, but it is the time that it is mostly focused on. The partners of the spirit warriors can still conceive outside mating season, but mostly due to the blessing of the spirits because at the end of the day, it is the spirits who determine who start a family or not.
All of this information truly astonished me. So much information could've been known, but the current spirit warriors didn't know because nothing was written in stone. Sam developed this sense of responsibility to make up for the mistakes that he had made with the pack, and that is why he has gone through multiple spirit walks to gain as much information that he can received by the spirits to write them down in archives for future generations. It was touching for Sam to do this for the pack, and I was proud of Sam. Even though Sam did disappear from the pack for a while, he still came around to help the pack as much as he can.
Knowing all of this, it helped Leah and Jacob. It brought down the pressure and stress for the mating season. Paul sheepishly admitted that he went around a lot of women during that time. He liked the attention that he was getting, and he admitted he felt this sort of high when it happened to him during those few weeks. That was how Paul became known a ladies' man in the pack. Meyers mentioned it, but she never went into more details regarding how, so now I knew. I knew he had a history, but to hear it from himself, it felt a little different. Of course, it didn't change the way I saw Paul, I still love my Paul. I was a little surprised to know Paul was a little self-conscious with me knowing his history. The way he explained it to me was because know he knew genuine love, he felt slightly ashamed of how he was in the past especially knowing I didn't have any romantic experience. He felt like he wished he saved himself for me, so we can have more shared experiences together. I reassured him that we all have a past that we would cringe of how we used to be in the past. For him, it was being that kind of guy in the past, and the fact that he has become mature over time, that was the most important thing for him. Thus, I encouraged him to not hate his past self, but accept all parts of himself like he had with me and I to him.
As planned, both Leah and Jacob disappeared once mating season started. Jacob left his mechanic stop to Embry and Quil to manage it in his behalf, while Leah worked insanely hard to do weeks of college courses work in advance. No one knew what mating season was going to be like for the alpha pair. For me and Paul, we couldn't control ourselves around the pups. We didn't neglect them, but we got even more creative to take care of the kids but at the same time still be sexually satisfied. The urge to mate wasn't intense for us from what Paul's wolf told me. Since we already have pups and they are still young, we didn't need to mate.
From what I heard for Jacob and Leah, Jacob had stashed food and supplies at the cabin in the woods, and they disappeared for a week. Thankfully, it was only lasted a week for them. The urge to mate was significantly reduced because we all knew Leah had conceived a child. Since it was still mating season, they still had sex couple of times a week.
Sam and Jared also went into mating season. Kim became pregnant after three weeks of persistent urge to mate from Jared. As mating season approached to end, it became clear that Emily did not became pregnant. Both Leah and I really thought that she would become emotional and upset that she is the only one who wasn't blessed with a child. From what I heard by Kim, Emily was upset, but she was trying to be positive. Emily said that she is glad she isn't pregnant yet because she just started her business, and she wanted to be a mom that her children would be proud of and she wants to focus her time with Sam.
Jacob started to get more protective over Leah. It got to the point that either he or someone would be sent with Leah every single time when she would go to her in-person college classes in Seattle. Leah doesn't like to be smothered, and she lost her temper with Jacob. They actually had their first big fight. Jacob stayed in his wolf form for a couple of hours in the woods before he calmed down. Leah hid with me and Paul. Paul was at work, so he didn't mind when I told him about the situation over the phone, but he did tell Leah to not bring drama to our place. If Jacob starts creating problems and bringing them to our place then he gonna beat his ass, alpha or not. Leah stayed with us, and I let her calm down by keeping her busy with helping me to take care of the triplets. Eventually, I finally brought it up and talked it out with Leah.
Paul came by the time came back from work; Jacob came by to ask Leah to walk with him. I gave a Leah a little push, and she grumpily followed after him. They were able to make up and apologize. Jacob will try to be less pushy, and Leah will try to be more lenient since it is instincts. Thankfully, her pregnancy was a normal one. She was progressing normally, so she didn't have to hide her pregnancy from her professors in her classes. Once summer hit, Jacob and Leah moved into their new place with Leah being 4 months pregnant.
When it became known that the son of the tribal chief is going to be a father soon, many Quileutes started coming by and give gifts to Jacob and Leah. Many of them knew Harry, and they wanted to treat Leah well because that is what Harry would wanted. They take care of each other regardless of the fact that the person they knew is gone. That is in their culture. I was touched to see literal strangers would offer gift cards and straight up money to Jacob and Leah. Leah was hesitant to receive gifts from people, but with encouragement from Jacob and her mom Sue, she started to accept them gladly. All of the gifts, it really reduced the stress for Jacob and Leah to provide for the incoming arrival of their child.
Within the pack, the guys started betting on the sex of Jacob and Leah's child and Jared and Kim's child. It irritated the girls, but I didn't see any harm with it. Jacob was very up front that his wolf spirit thinks it will be a son, and it turned out right. Then, few weeks later, we found out that Kim will be having a girl. I had high suspicion that their children might be future spirit warriors and future mates of my children. I remembered few months ago when Seth imprinted on Evangeline when she was still in my womb, he mentioned that someone very important will be her mate. I have high suspicion that Jacob's son may become alpha and be the mate of Evangeline. Since she is destined to be the next peacemaker and like it has been in the past, the peacemaker is usually with the Alpha. I kept these thoughts to myself because I don't know if Paul would be able to handle this news yet. I will see once Leah and Jacob's son is born.
One day, I had forgotten that it has been a year since I arrived in this world. I was so busy with helping Leah to set up the baby room that Paul literally had to kidnap me away from helping around the reservation to spend some alone time with him. I apologized that I got so caught up with everything that I forgot that it has been a year since I came. Good thing he remembered and actually set up a day just me and him. He dropped the triplets with Sue, Kim, Seth and Charlie. We reminisced a lot about the past, but we also talked about how so many things have changed since I arrived.
Finally, Leah's son was born. It was a smooth delivery thankfully, and she named him Zechariah Harry Black and Zack for short. It was sweet that she named him after her father, and much to Leah's dismay, he looked exactly like Jacob. Nevertheless, she was able to bond with her child. She was worried that she wouldn't be able to connect with him, but when the moment came, all of her worries disappeared thankfully. Then, few weeks later, Kim delivered her baby. She named her Anna Elizabeth Cameron. It was a baby boom in the pack. All of the guys were with their imprints, taking care of the babies. They all came to Paul and I for advice, but instead of being annoyed by their persistence, he was happy to help his alpha and his pack brother.
Paul was a very loving father to the babies. I was slowly able to gain my confidence as a new mom. In the beginning, I was just a ball of anxiety, but as time pass on, I was able to become comfortable and I actually surprised myself. I did a lot better than I thought, but honestly, if it wasn't for everyone, I wouldn't have been able to transition well into this world. The pups became very dear to me, and I loved them with my whole heart with no exception. Even if I knew the boys are going to be Lucas was the first one of the triplets to learn how to walk. Then it came Evangeline and lastly Mateo. I had a strong feeling that without my knowledge, Seth has been encouraging Evangeline to walk to beat her brothers. I am not into having my kids to be competing with one another to see who is better or not. I didn't want to feed that kind of competitiveness so early on in their upbringing. I had to have a deep talk with Seth and Paul. It took awhile for them to understand, and they don't get it completely, but they are willing to tone it down. We took pictures of every first for them, and at first Paul thought it was tedious, but when he saw the pictures, he was able to soften up and understand he would want them to keep them as memories. We celebrated their first birthdays by doing a huge bonfire. We basically did what a family would be typically doing. We tried to give as much a normal life to our children as much as we can.
Emily finally got pregnant by the next mating season. She gave birth to a girl. She named her Serena Allison Uley. She named her Allison after Sam's mom. She passed away before she got to meet Sam's baby girl. From what I was told, he was very grief-stricken, but being a father, it slowly helped him cope.
Eventually, Jacob's mechanic shop prospered. Paul slowly started going back to his business, expanding it together with Jared, Sam, Brady and Collin. Seth, Embry and Quil helped Jacob to expand his mechanic business to the point people from Forks started going over to the reservation just for Jacob.
Seth graduated from college together with Leah. Leah was able to graduate with her bachelor's in nursing, and Seth graduated with accounting and a minor in graphic design. The day that Leah got her diploma with baby Zack in her arms, it was the happiest day for Leah. The whole pack were there to cheer for her. Leah cringed from our loudness, but she was smiling very brightly with Jacob.
Charlie and Seth came to congratulate Leah and Seth for their graduation in Seattle. Sue was a wreck, and Charlie was looking like a proud dad. Charlie surprisingly gave both a hug in Harry's stead. Charlie told them that if Harry was here, Harry would've wanted to hug them, so Charlie went out of his way to hug them. I was surprised by this physical affection display by Charlie. I could tell by living together with Sue, it had softened him up more and not able to see Bella since she is a vampire, it made him appreciate who he has with him more. He became very attentive toward Seth and Sue. He gave Leah some space, and he didn't push himself toward the Seth and Leah. He never demanded him to treat him like a dad to them. One time, he had told them that Harry will always be their father, and he isn't here to replace him. it helped to ease the awkward tension between Leah and Charlie. Leah was able to tolerate Charlie more and even have some conversations with him without talking about the supernatural stuff nor the Cullens.
Things starting to feel like it all starting to come together. Jacob was able to finally pay off the bank interest, raise enough money to extend their new living place with the help of Paul and Jared.
A decade later, I finally received a phone call from Carlisle that they finally took down the Volturi. The day that we anticipated with fear and anxiety have arrived. History once again will be changing, but for how much?

Sorry I sent this late. Work got so chaotic, and it is still chaotic. I tried to close as many ends as I can. I think two more chapters, we will be done with this series, I believe. It's getting harder for me to end this lol!
Sniff. I can't believe we are toward the end guys. It's been a one long adventure. .
