Chapter 81: Epilogue Part 3

It took all of us by surprise. Jasper's expertise in warfare truly have shone in the fight with the Volturi. The Volturi had a set schedule when they fed, which members of the guard goes to hunt, when they go do their duties outside of the castle, and the like. Alice and Jasper observed the Volturi to the utmost detail and precision. It took years of fully understanding the Volturi's schedule, personalities, and the magnitude of the Volturi's army. While they were gathering data, Carlisle and Edward all went across the world with Bella (to prevent Demetri hunting them down because Bella achieved the level that she became untraceable by Demetri from her shield) to see who will come to their alliance and support their cause. Bella cried, but they left Renesmee with Rosalie and Emmett until months later, they were able to find everyone who would be willing to join their cause. Peter and Charlotte were quick to follow Jasper and help the Cullens. It took some convincing for them to convince the Egyptian, Irish and the Amazonian coven since they weren't sure if they should trust the words of another supernatural being and a human.

I don't blame them. They only were able to give in when Carlisle shows statistics of the progress of mankind's technology. When they saw how quickly things are advancing for the humans, they were able to realize how much it will be difficult to keep their identities a secret. Knowing how the Volturi are, they understood that they are not going to change. Benjamin was able to voice his opinions that he wanted to adventure out to the human world. He was tired of living in exclusion out of fear from the Volturi and the humans. Amun then finally relented, but his one condition was that the Cullens provide protection for Benjamin.

It was a slow progress, but they were able to take down the guards one by one. First, they took down Jane and Felix, then Demetri in few weeks. Demetri left the Volturi on a personal vendetta out of grief for losing his sister, so he didn't think things through and left a huge opening for Jasper, Peter, Charlotte and Zafrina to take him down. Aro wasn't aware of Demetri's disappearance until months later when Aro sent more of his guards to track him down. Because everyone covered their tracks, the guards couldn't figure out who was behind the attack toward the Volturi. At first, Aro assumed it was the Romanian coven trying to create problems again, so he sent guards track them down forgetting that Alice was watching his every moves. He let his thoughts roam free just momentarily due to losing his strongest guards. He wasn't grieving them, but it was more like he was upset the fact that someone who dared to attack the Volturi.

The Cullens were quick to make in contact with Stefan and Vladmir before Aro sent guards to track the Romanian coven. They were too eager to join with the Cullens to take down the Volturi, but thankfully, Edward and Jasper were able to see through their distrustful nature. They knew Stefan and Vladmir will try to double cross them if everyone succeeds with taking down the Volturi. Thus, they also made a plan for Stefan and Vladmir as well. If they are not willing to tolerate Carlisle being the leader of the vampires, then they will have the choice to be forced into imprisonment or death.

Because half of the Cullens were gone with trying to find others who will support their cause, Renesmee in first few months of her life didn't see most of the family, so Bella and Edward thought of introducing Nahuel and his aunt Huilen to keep her company. Thus, Alice, Jasper, Bella and Edward first sought them out. They were cautious and skeptical of them, but once the Cullens showed Renesmee to Nahuel and Huilen, they were able to trust the Cullens and agreed to help them to make the world a better place. Nahuel has no hatred toward humans as part human, but he does desire for human society to come to a point where they would be able to live along with vampires and dhampirs. He and his sisters are tired of constant roaming due to being 'humans who are unable to die'. If the Cullens can help human society and the vampire society to coexist somehow so that dhampirs won't be shunned, then they are willing to help them as much as they can.

It turned out Nahuel and Renesmee were mates.

Nahuel, at last found someone who could truly understand him besides his sister. Bella and Edward discussed with Nahuel to not pressure Renesmee into being her mate until she fully matures, but she was quick to catch on that their parents were hiding things from her and made Nahuel tell her the truth. Renesmee at first hurt, but with guidance from Rosalie and Jasper, she was able to forgive her parents.

They became an inseparable pair, and Renesmee grew attached to Nahuel's sisters: Serena, Maysun, and Jennifer. They became Renesmee's siblings, so for once, Renesmee didn't feel alone in this world.

When guards were sent to track Stefan and Vladmir, everyone was able to ambush them and take them down. It was a tedious process since Volturi's sense of time is not the greatest. What would be considered slow for them would be months even years, thus it took so long for Aro to come into conclusions that the Cullens were behind it. Thus, Carlisle tried one last time to convince Aro and Caius, but they were not having it, so with a heavy heart, a battle occurred at the Volturi castle. It lasted half of the day. Benjamin was able to display the magnitude of his powers. Majority of the Volturi were wiped out. When the wives were burned to death, Caius and Aro tried to flee, but a livid Marcus (he was freed from the powers of Chelsea once she was taken down earlier in the battle) personally ripped their heads off and burned them alive. Marcus asked Jasper to kill him despite of Carlisle plea, but Marcus was firm in his decision. He had lived a long, long life and he simply wish to rest, so Carlisle gave Marcus a honorable death.

The Volturi castle was a symbol of many years of pain and suffering for many vampires. With Benjamin's help from years of training under the guidance of Jasper and Peter, it was burned down into crisps. It was all over in the news. The humans panicked and thought that it was a sign of a cataphoric event of some sort to see an old artifact to be burned down so pitifully. Good thing, Carlisle and the alliance planned ahead, so the city would be evacuated with Benjamin causing a pseudo hurricane and tornado for the humans to evacuate. Thankfully, only everyone from the Volturi were the victims of the "Great Fire of Italy' (that was what the news called it).

As expected, Vladmir and Stefan tried to attack Carlisle, but quickly apprehended by Emmett and Peter. They believed what Carlisle was trying to achieve was a child dream. A dream only for someone who never truly 'lived as a vampire'. Everyone was quick to see that they were stuck in their way of thinking, so Carlisle put them to death. Then, Carlisle moved the new headquarters to Canada. Once they sort of settled down, Jasper and Emmett personally went to check to see any remnants from the Volturi and promote the new laws for the vampire society. That was when they finally called me and Jake and told us the news.

As in for the pack and the reservation…
