"Jazz you have gone too far!"
"Come on Doc, Bee and I didn't have a choice! That was Swindle out there, He was going to take her."
"What about a hospital?"
"So, the cons could just pluck her out from there? No, I wasn't going to risk that."
"You are insane."
Ratchet, Autobot medic gave out a frustrated sigh and looked down at the small, unconscious female resting on a berth. They didn't exactly have anything human sized. Honestly, he could do very little for her, only monitor vitals. The medic has done such little research on the human anatomy, it never occurred to him he would have one on his medical berth. Besides, learning about them seemed like such a waste of time.
"Is she going to be alright Doc?"
"I'm not sure. All I can say is that she is alive."
Both Jazz and Bumblebee worriedly looked at each other. The scout managed to catch her before she made contact with the ground but when she didn't wake up on the drive back to base, concern grew. He was sure the catch didn't have enough force to break her. Was it the car chase with the cons? He did his best to make sure her body did not thrash around. He placed TWO seat belts on her. Two!
"Did you at least manage to get the fragment?"
Jazz wordlessly opened his servo to reveal the small piece attached to the choker.
"Good, you did something right at least. I didn't think any part of the Allspark was left."
"Neither did I but somehow this woman got her hands on a piece. Question is how she managed to do that."
A stir below drew the Cybertronian's attention. Groans of what Ratchet could only assume was pain made his spark ache. It was horrible not being able to fully assist her. Next time NEST was here, he will have their medics teach him everything on human care.
"Mmmmm ugh my head…."
Magnolia gently placed her hand on her forehead in a vain attempt to stop the throbbing. She felt like complete shit.
And not the normal kind of shit. More like diarrhea shit.
"Take it easy, you are still recovering."
A deep voice forced the woman's eyes to pop open. Her vision was a bit blurry, but she guessed it was due to the headache. What the hell caused it in the first place? Was she in the hospital? Shit did she get into a car wreck?
"Easy now."
Her sights finally landed on the owner of the voice and boy….
Oh boy.
Magnolia was always late to react to her emotions, for a good 2 minutes she remained silent and simply stared. This was obviously a dream. Had to be! There was no way two giant robots were standing above her. No way. Nope. Absolutely not. Impossible.
After the initial shock, she looked down at her hands then back to the robots. Her head shook briefly before erupting into a hysterical laughter.
Jazz and Ratchet looked at one another in worry, thinking the human had broken herself.
"Right, I must have been attacked by a thief. I'm obviously unconscious that explains the dreams."
"Dreams? Ma'am I am afraid this is reality. You were not attacked by a thief."
"Ha! That's exactly what I'd expect my dream creations to say. Since I am clearly in a coma then nothing I do matters. How are you dream creatures? I am Magnolia."
Jazz gaped. Did she actually think this wasn't real?
"It may seem hard to believe but this is all real."
Magnolia merely scoffed and laid back down. "I am going to sleep. When I wake up, I will be in a hospital bed."
With that she turned over and let darkness take her once more.
"We better call Fowler."
A few hours later
"ALRIGHT WHERE IS SHE?!"
"Captain Lennox I brought you here to be a calming presence for your cousin while I figure out what is going on."
Agent William Fowler, representative for the US Government walked down the hallway that led to the elevator into the hidden Autobot base located in Jasper, Nevada. Next to him was leader of NEST, Captain William Lennox who happened to be meeting with Fowler when the call from Ratchet was heard. To say, he was angry was putting it mildly. Keeping his wife Sarah and his sweet angel Annabelle away from his work with the Cybertronians was tough enough. Now they had to go on and get his favorite cousin involved?!
"They have Mag! Don't tell me to calm down."
"We don't know the reasons just yet."
"All I know is she better not be hurt."
The ding of the elevator signaled they reached the bottom and the two promptly exited to find Ratchet, Optimus, Prowl, Jazz and Bulkhead waiting for them in the central hangar.
"Alright Optimus, what is going on? Bringing a civilian into your civil war?"
"That civilian is my cousin! Where is she?"
Both pair of eyes went to the largest Autobot in the group, their heroic leader Optimus Prime. A red and blue painted mech with a spark of gold.
"Agent Fowler, Captain Lennox. Miss Magnolia is quite well minus a few cosmetic malfunctions."
"Where is she?"
"In the medical bay with Ratchet. Bulkhead will take you there."
The tank like mech nodded before walking to the Med Bay with Will right at his side. The Autobot was one of Will's favorite bots due to the fact that he was very similar to Ironhide, just a bit bulkier. The main difference between the two was the personalities, Hide was a hardass but Bulk was a teddy bear.
"Bulkhead, Mag is alright?"
"I dunno, I was out on patrol with Epps when I got word."
"God, I need to see her."
"Please don't touch me….Please don't touch me….AHHH PLEASE DON'T TOUCH MEEEEEEEE! FUCK!"
Will jumped as he heard the voice of his cousin in the distance. Without a second thought, he raced to the Med Bay with Bulkhead right on his heels. As they entered, their faces went still as they watched Ratchet struggle with a clearly distressed Magnolia.
"NooooooAAAAA!"
Ratchet recoiled in shock upon seeing the human female wrap her arms around herself and back away. Her dress was beginning to fall and she was getting dangerously close to the edge of the berth. The medical officer didn't want to frighten her too much but if he didn't grab this woman now, she might very well fall to her death.
"Calm down female!"
Magnolia screeched again when a large metallic hand came closer to her. Instantly, she fell to her knees and placed her hands on her lips. The movement ceased Ratchet's servo from grabbing the frightened woman. So instead, he gave her space, perhaps she had relaxed herself.
"If Odin and Thor are actually real please helllllllp me!"
Was she in prayer? Ratchet had heard from Jazz that the major religion on this planet was Christianity. He could not remember the full details but humans made offerings and created holidays dedicated to this Jesus Christ.
Foolish humans.
Still, he had never heard of this Odin or Thor before. Perhaps another religion? Obviously not as popular as the humans that gave praise to this God and his many parlor tricks.
"I'm not going to hurt you for crying out loud! So, stop your crazy rant-"
"Mag! Are you alright?"
Both Magnolia and Ratchet quickly looked toward the entrance of the medical bay to see Lennox run up the steps with speed that would impress Captain America to pull Magnolia into his classical bear hug. The woman wheezed in his embrace as her now ruined dress clung to her sweaty skin. Bare feet froze from the cold and there was no doubt her makeup was smeared and blotched. Curls were probably a mess too, great.
A-As fine as I c-can be. Geez, Will!"
She harshly tapped on his back as the pain began to set in. Her cousin gaped at the action and carefully released her.
Once free she slowly looked up at him with anger before delivering a smack to his cheek. The silence of the room made the skin on skin contact echo for a more dramatic yet unwanted effect.
A few seconds pass by before Lennox slowly placed a free hand on his now burning cheek while wide eyes stared at Magnolia. Did this bitc- did she just slap him?
"What the hell was that for?!"
"For all your lies! Oh, I just do patrolling for the military huh?! Well explain all of this! The robots, this secret base?!"
Lennox rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment mixed with guilt. "Did Optimus talk to you?"
"Optimus? The tallest robot monster out there?"
"They aren't monsters."
"Look man, one minute I'm on my path to fame with my song for that club pops set up for me, next thing you know I am getting thrown off a balcony by a really hot guy! Black out and end up here. Talking to giant robots!"
Oh yeah! He forgot about Magnolia's performance the other night. He couldn't be there in person due to his baby girl being ill, but he and Sarah watched it from the television screen. She was shining like a literal star underneath those stage lights, commanding attention and alluring both men and women alike.
Though looking at the hot mess before him, it was hard to believe that she was actually pretty underneath all that smudged garbage on her face.
"Damn you need a makeup wipe or something."
"Fuck you Will! I been through a lot."
"I know and I'm sorry. Here let's get you cleaned up. I will explain everything after."
"And where exactly am I supposed to get washed up?"
"I've got my quarters not too far down the hall."
"You DO have a lot of explaining to do."
As Will placed his hand on Magnolia's back to guide her, he noticed the way she swayed side to side. Her pupils seemed dilated and some drool began to run down the corner of her lip.
"Mag? Cuz?"
"F-Fuck Y-ou Wi-"
With a thud, the woman fell to the floor causing Captain Lennox to jump up in panic while Ratchet immediately tried to get her off the cold surface.
"And that's how she ended up here."
Fowler snatched the choker from Jazz's servos to take a better look at it. The small jagged piece of metal did resemble the other fragments that were found across the planet. He wondered how she came to acquire a fragment in the first place.
"How did she get this?"
"Unsure, the female would not say."
"You've spoken to her?"
"We have made several attempts but all she did was scream."
"Can't blame her. Look, Optimus we need to speak in private about this. My bosses aren't going to be pleased."
"Of Course, Agent Fowler."
Jazz turned away from his leader and wandered toward Bumblebee who had remained silent up to this point. The scout had his sights set on the corridor that led to the med bay, where the woman was taken earlier. Guess Bee was feeling the same thing he was. Made sense, he was one of the few bots who was genuinely interested in humans. Scout was never hesitant to ask questions, an admirable quality.
"You good Bee?"
The young bot offered a few quiet whirls as a response.
"I hear that. Can't think of why she had a fragment on her or where she got it from. Still, being up so close to a human was great."
Bumblebee faced his friend with curiosity.
"I mean touching her was amazing Bee. Her skin felt so warm and soft against my servo. Humans are so interesting. Wonder if they are all that squishy? The way the muscles move underneath is a little weird though."
Bumblebee grinned with humor, the girl was soft and tiny. Like those glass dolls he's seen on TV! It surely was an experience he'd like to have again.
