Capsule Corp
"Are you kidding me!?" an enraged Bulma shouted to Vegeta, her voice echoed all throughout the building. "Do you see the look of this place?!" she flailed her arms around, motioning to all to the 'remodeling' that had been done soon after Vegeta had left. The lights had been repaired, though the sunlight did most of the work getting in through the shattered windows. There were still countless holes in the walls, overturned furniture and damages on almost every floor in the building "Do you know what I've put up with since you've left?!" she stomped her foot "And you come back empty handed!"
"That has nothing to do with me. It's Kakarot and his boys fault!" Vegeta retorted just as spitefully.
"And that's supposed to make it better?!" she roared back. "And where's our son?!" Vegeta shouted his own response to her.
The husband and wife dueled each other with words. And the whole time they did, Rock Lee stood casually between the two, his round head bobbed from one to the other as they spoke, oblivious to his presence.
"The faults with them!" Vegeta snapped, pointing off as if they were there in the room with them. Rock Lee rotated his head to look out to where Vegeta was pointing, seeing nothing at the edge of his finger.
"That's not an excuse!" Bulma retaliated back at him and Rock Lee's head rotated back towards her. Vegeta's mouth opened wider now, a vein bulging in his head as he was ready to unleash a powerful attack from his mouth. But he was stopped by the interjection of the onlooker.
"If it might help." Rock Lee suddenly peeped up with a finger pointed upwards. The husband and wife froze in place and their heads rotated to the young boy in the room standing beside them. One of them was annoyed by his presence, while the other confused.
"Vegeta, who is this?" she asked forgetting that the two were at each others throats just a few moments ago. Vegeta stood back up and crossed his arms.
"A straggler from my travels." he admitted grumpily.
"He has promised to face me in glorious battle!" Rock Lee told Bulma with his arms raised high in the air and wonder in his eyes. Bulma stood back up herself now, putting a hand to her hip.
"Well, don't go easy on him" she encouraged Lee taking a more natural tone in her voice "Maybe a few good knocks to the head is what he needs." she glanced to her husband out of the corner of her eye.
"Hm, as if he'd be able to even touch me." Vegeta spat, clearly irritated his wife was taking sides against him.
"To help bring this argument to an end. I shall help to clean!" Rock Lee declared, finishing his point from before "It will be, but another step forward in my training."
"Well that's very sweet of you" Bulma thanked him. Vegeta looked less than impressed.
"That's not training." he said aloud. It was at this moment that she realized the small familiar object her husband held in his hand.
"Oh!" she said surprised "So, it's you who took my Dragon Radar."
Vegeta cocked his head to her "What are you talking about?"
"The Dragon Balls." she pointed to the one in his hand "You're trying to collect them, again." she informed him as if it was already a fact "To bring everyone back right?"
"Pff. Not yet. The boys took this off of some thief and returned it to me for safe keeping." he informed her now, as he turned his head away from her. As the two spoke Rock Lee busied himself around the room, pricking up and placing the discarded furniture back in it's proper place.
"A thief?" Bulma let out before she bringing her thumb to her chin, pondering to herself. Then much to the chagrin of Vegeta suddenly let out a shriek into his ear.
"Blast it woman?! What!?" Vegeta cried out holding his head.
"Is something wrong?" Lee asked kindly with a bookshelf raised above his head.
"I thought you guys took the Dragon Radar!" she screamed.
"And?" Vegeta shrugged his shoulders as his voice rose.
"You didn't!" she shouted.
"No I didn't!" he shouted in agreement back. The two were back at it again, only it was different than before. As they did Lee perked up, pausing only briefly as he lifted the bookcase up to place it against the wall again.
"I know!"
"Yes! Thank you for the update!". Lee's head once again bobbed from one to the other from beneath the bookshelf.
"Somebody did!"
"Who?!"
"I don't know!"
"Then what are you trying to tell me!?"
"Don't you get it?!" she shouted even louder than before.
"NO!"
"AH!" she jumped in place "You're ego's bigger than your brain!" she said short of breath and a voice. Rock Luckily Lee was there with a fresh glass of water in one hand and a couch raised up in the other. "Thank you." she said taking the water and he placed the couch in the corner "It looks better over there." she pointed to the other side of the room and with complaints he happily moved it. "I like him." she said to her husband "We should keep him around."
"What about the thief?" he grinded his teeth, bringing the matter back at hand.
"Well.." she paused thinking it over "shortly after Gohan left the Dragon Radar disappeared. I did an inventory check right after that, so I knew it was still here. But afterword's it just vanished." That certainly sounded like it made sense, but Vegeta needed more convincing than that.
"Couldn't you have misplaced it?"
"Do you think I'm that dense?" she spat "After all this, I knew exactly where everything valuable was." Except the money. It seemed nobody wanted that these days.
"What could you possibly be implying?" Vegeta inquired "That somebody wants the Dragon Balls. What else is new?" Vegeta asked, and she opened his mouth to answer "That's rhetorical." he snapped, and she closed her mouth, but retained a smug satisfaction towards him. Vegeta then took in a deep breath "Well, it doesn't matter." he let out the breath, feeling more relaxed and looking more composed "If they want the Dragon Balls they can come and get it." he said as he tossed the ball up and down in his hand. "And then we'll have the other six. As for this thief, I'll deal with them soon enough " he then looked to Lee juggling the Tv and two chairs "and then find way to get you out my hair forever."
"Oh, I won't be gone so easily." Rock Lee said setting the three down perfectly.
"Well if we can travel between worlds as easily as Kakarot has shown me it seems we won't have need of this other wish." Vegeta began "Perhaps I can use the wish to get rid of you." Vegeta laughed at Rock Lee.
"Absolutely not!" Bulma shouted at him once again.
"I'll let him rearrange the house before he leav-"
"NO!" she cut him off "I'm not having another freak come into my house!"
Vegeta chuckled "See boy," he turned back to Lee "You've already overstayed your welcome."
"Take that!" she pointed to the ball in his hand "and get it out of my house!" she pointed to the door.
"And where should I go?" he asked infuriated.
"Anywhere, but here!" she placed her hands on her hips and began grilled him down.
"Fine!" he spat glaring right back and began marching out "You can keep the boy!"
"What?!" Lee exclaimed holding up a desk "I will not be left behind again!" he shouted, his voice echoing throughout all of Capsule Corps. He quickly left his post and dropped the desk which broke into pieces onto the ground. Bulma's violent screeching soon joined there's and it chased both of them out.
Once he was outside Vegeta wasted no time in powering up and jumping into the air. With the dragon ball held tightly in his hand, it didn't matter where he went now. If someone was out there looking for them, they would run into each other soon enough. He prepared for a weightless flight through the air. That was until his left leg was plunged back now from the air.
"Ah-" he let out at the drastic addition of something weight him down. "What the-" he looked down to see Lee latched onto his left leg; his arms and legs wrapped around his calf, his bright wide eyes starring at him under those caterpillars he called eyebrows. "What are you doing?!" he screamed down at him while at the same time trying to shake him off.
"I told you, I would not be left behind! I have found you twice now and will be given what I am owed." he said with his face pressed against his calf "And your beautiful wife wanted us both gone."
"Don't call my wife beautiful! And get off!" Vegeta stopped in mid air and began flailing his leg about, but Lee would not budge.
"If you do not stop, I will surely throw up my lunch onto you and none of us want that." he stated calmly as he was shaken. A vein budged from the side of Vegeta's head. He began moving his foot as if stomping on the ground and Lee's grip slowly started to slip. He let out another stamp in the air and Lee slipped off his leg and was about to fall into the city below. At the last second he reached out and wrapped his hands around his boot and hung off of it.
"You wanna learn how to fly?" Vegeta grinned as he reared his leg back "Here's your lesson!" he flung his leg forward, and Lee was propelled off his boot and into the distance. "Ah" he let out a relieved breath. That took care of that. But something seemed strange. He certainly felt lighter, and everything was certainly quieter now that Lee was gone, but he felt something else. Was it this breezy before? He looked down to see his exposed bare left foot. "My boot!" his voice echoed across the sky.
He quickly took off into the distance, for the first time he found himself following Lee. But only because he stole his boot, at least that's how he rationalized it. He flew all the way over the ocean and to the land on the other side. A small dot on the horizon made him think he had finally caught up with him, but that only turned out to be Korin's tower.
But flailing across the sky he saw something green. Something green and screaming. And most importantly clutching a white boot for dear life as he soared through the air uncontrollably.
Catching up to him Vegeta snatched him by the collar and brought his first flight to an abrupt halt. He floated in the air with Lee in his grip and ripped the boot from his grip.
"Give me that." he ordered as he took it and Lee did not protest as his head swayed from side to side.
"I'm seeing stars." he slurred. Vegeta fitted the boot back onto his foot, as the other dangled the worn out Lee with the other. Rotating his foot to make sure it would stay on, he saw the tower out of the corner of his eyes.
"Well," he admitted as he reared his head back up "If nothing else I may have found my destination." It anyone knew what was up with the Dragon Balls it would surely be Earth's guardian; the very one who when asked by Goku told him Shenron would be able to take him to these new worlds. He turned to look to Lee dangling in his grip "Hey, boy" he said, but Lee seemed far from his prime. His eyes were spinning in their sockets and his tongue rolled out of his mouth. Luckily he knew what would get him out of that trance "What?" he cocked his head "Not interested in more training?" he smirked.
"Training?!" Lee snapped back to life.
"See you at the top." All at once he loosened his grip on his collar and tucked his legs up to make sure he didn't grab onto them. The hand that held onto him now waved down as Lee plummeted to the ground below to land at the base of the tower. Waiting only to see him get up after he landed, Vegeta saw Lee without hesitation ran to grab the base tower and began to climb it to reach Vegeta as he floated high above him. But Vegeta was not going to let him catch him this time. Vegeta shot up and headed towards the top of the tower to reach the Lookout.
Just as Rock Lee wasted no time in climbing the tower Vegeta reached the top all the way up there in just that; no time.
But when he got up there, he saw a horrifying sight.
Dende and Mr. Popo cowered in the garden, shaking in their clothes at the grim figure whose back was to Vegeta, but stood over the other two. Between them were six of the seven dragon balls. The black haired, white robed figure produced a sword and seemed so focused on them that he didn't even realize Vegeta had arrived on scene. Graciously the figure raised the sword into the air as if to strike down at them. But Vegeta wasn't let that happen.
His face curled up, grimacing at the sight.
"Hey freak!" Vegeta spat and the figure froze in place. "Looking for this?!" he called out and held out the last Dragon Ball. The figure didn't move, and Vegeta didn't wait for a response. He flew right towards him with his fist raised above his head about to bring it down to crush his.
As Vegeta was about to bear down on this man from behind, he turned around revealing between a scarf and long black strands of hair a pale face and a pair of unyielding brown eyes. And a sword turning with him pointed up towards Vegeta as he threw a punch down at him.
Soul Society
"Whadda think your doin'? Hanging around guys like that?" the obnoxious voice bellowed over Kakashi as he held him in a headlock and dragged him across the Soul Society "Us special forces guys, we gotta stick together, ya know?" he both answered and asked himself. Kakashi tried to answer for him, telling him this was a terrible mistake- like so many recently- but he was too focused on fighting for air or squirming to get out of his grip that he couldn't bring himself to do that. The moe he tried to get air in or his voice out the more this man babbled over him and the farther away he took him from Piccolo and Renji "Plus you know the Captain," he rambled as Kakashi's outstretched arm reached out in vain "She wanted everybody there for some big celebration. I'm sure you've heard Kuchiki's been brought back, and who brought her, so you know what that means-" Kakashi didn't even hear the rest of the end of that; he phoned in on the name just as he did before. He squirmed more and more in the grip until, the man for some reason finally took notice. "Huh? Well, what is it?! Spit it out man!" he ordered to his supposed subordinate.
He finally released Kakashi who fell to the ground gasping for air.
"Well come on, speak up!" the enormous man blabbered from above the oxygen deprived ninja.
Kakashi took in a breath "I can't wait to get there." he exhaled.
"Oh that's it? HA!" he laughed "Then come on then, your slowing me down. That's no way to treat your superior ya know." he boasted before turning his back to him and walking off. Kicking his legs up and landing on them Kakashi followed his 'superior officer'. "You see it all comes down to funding, so it all comes back to me." this guy continued to ramble on, but Kakashi just put his hands in his pockets and with his one revealed eye watched every corner they passed. He noticed as they walked every one else sent an odd glance Kakashi's way. He naturally understood why, though his guide clearly did not. He really hoped he wasn't a high ranking officer.
"You're late Lieutenant Omaeda." a voice called out to them. Apparently he was.
Kakashi surmised that they had arrived at their destination. The two of them were at the base of a flight of stairs leading up to a building. On both sides were two red pillars with two black slashes on each. Going off of Renji and Tsunade's description, Kakashi guessed that it meant 2nd division.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Omaeda began to take large, clunky steps as he made his way up the stairs. After checking over the poles Kakashi silently followed him up. "I had to pick up the stragglers." he announced as he reached the top. Kakashi soon reached right after him. The guard at the top looked confused at him, clearly being able to tell the difference of who was in the squad or not. Kakashi silently shrugged in response before moving on into the building unopposed, only a few steps behind Omaeda. The second his foot stepped inside he felt the floor heat up. A comforting addition; the rotating doors were a nice touch too, but it did little to hide the inherent madness going on inside.
Whatever was going on in here or whoever it was for must be pretty important. Omaeda stormed through, often pushing people aside as they clattered together through the halls to make his way to the room at the end of it. There was practically no room to move around and get there as everyone rushed from one side to the next, moving with or against everyone else as they clamored around shoulder to shoulder. Some were carrying bright golden trays or decorations while some had furniture and others were just running around trying to make sense of all of the directions being given at once.
Casually and effortlessly Kakashi ducked, moved, or slid out of the way of clamoring guardsmen, as if he wasn't there at all. Some of which were clad similarly to him, if he hadn't had the vest on which explained the initial-but not continued- mistaken identity from Lieutenant Omaeda. So this no doubt lead to the puzzling confrontation with the lieutenant and why he was forced here, he still somehow had the feeling that this might be worth his time.
Though he couldn't say why. Or maybe he just wouldn't.
"The Captain's coming!" one voice suddenly hollered down the hall. In an instant the frantic scene was gone, and the entire hall was cleared of the soldiers. They instead took their places lining the walls, leaving only Kakashi to walk down them. Well him and someone else.
The soft sound of footsteps walking across the wooden floor echoed from behind him. He turned to see who it was, but was suddenly snatched from the side by one of the guards.
"Come on new guy." they whispered before smooshing him uncomfortably between them. Since he was an extra addition there wasn't any room left for him. The sound of the foot steps became louder until a small figure in a white coat stopped before him.
Angry eyes locked onto him and he found himself too stuck to move. All he could think was 'They have another little boy running things?' as he looked down at the hateful glare he was receiving. The captain's mouth opened.
"What do you think you doing?" a rough, but distinctly feminine voice snapped at him.
'Oh it's a woman' he realized.
It seemed the gig was up and his identity was about to be revealed.
"Why are you wearing that vest?" she growled, her anger growing. "Why aren't you in uniform? Do you want me to-"
"Soi Fon!" a man's deep voice echoed from down the hall in the next room. The red blooded anger from the petite Captain left and was replaced by a pink blush. "What are you doing back there? I thought this was to be a hero's welcome?"
Soi Fon's attention went down the hall, towards the room where the voice was coming from "It is." she called back meekly down the hall "I was just-"
"Let's have a bath made for me." he declared "I've been on my feet all day, all four of them!"
"Yes I will," she stammered "I was just-" she glanced to Kakashi and then back down the hall, gauging her priorities "Right away." she said as she ran forward into the other room following the voice.
The second she turned the corner and was gone Kakashi squirmed out of his holding, popping back into the open hall. He thought it peculiar as much as it was good timing. He thought the Captains ran the divisions. So who was this who ordered their Captain away? The Head Captain? Strange as it was, he decided to follow. Tucking his hands in his pockets then walked down following the Captain, as casually as he had when he first entered.
"Hey new guy." one of them called under his breath so as to not attract attention "Where are you going?" Kakashi stopped to look back.
"To the Captain." he answered.
"Not like that." they stressed. Kakashi viewed his own attire before shrugging back.
"What's the worst that could happen?" he asked. Kakashi then turned from them and walked forward. All around him, the soldiers were just as frantic as before. Some tried to stop him, other's ran for cover to save themselves and some were so scarred they stayed right in place.
Disregarding the mayhem around him once again Kakashi rounded the corner and found another room entirely. His head was on a swivel as he observed each part of it.
A long open space in the shape of a square. Paired with the wooden floor golden arches adorned it's walls. To his left there was no wall, but a wide open space allowing for a view of most of the Soul Society. A nice view, but not what he was here for. He turned his head right to view the other side. The room was littered with soldiers, just like the ones he'd just left behind. In the center of the room was a small chair colored red and green where you could take in the view from. A small table of treats lay next to it. Soi Fon was sitting in front of, but not in the chair. Her lieutenant towering over her was standing by her side. And over the top of the chair hung something all to familiar to him. His eyes widened, and a cold chill flowed through his body.
It was a leaf village headband. It was held together by a red cloth which was now wrapped atop of the chair. Kakashi would recognize it anywhere.
That was Guy's.
He stepped into the room, and his presence instantly attracted the attention of everyone in it. All eyes went to him, some in shock, other's in confusion, but for Soi Fon it was once again anger.
"You!" she snapped at him. He stayed in his spot, keeping his eye on her. This had to be it. This was who Guy and Sakura had encountered in the forest.
Kakashi raised his arm and stretched it across the room "That doesn't belong to you." he pointed to the headband. His voice lacked the calmness it usually did. Every one looked to it with similar looks like before.
Soi Fon scoffed "This is a trophy. A gift." Kakashi dropped his arm and his face squinted under the mask. "Now get out of here." she waved him off "That's an order." Every one gave him looks urging him to move away, but he didn't. "Omaeda!" she snapped at her lieutenant "Do something right. Seize him." she pointed across the room.
"Yes Captain." he replied obediently. He rolled his sleeves up and rotated his arms. He was bigger than Kakashi, but he didn't budge or even look at him as he approached. "This isn't your day new guy." he reached his arm down to grab the hilt of his sword "Now it's time for me t-" Kakashi grabbed his arm and held him in place. Omaeda grunted and tried to move his hand and bring the sword out of it's sheath, but it wouldn't budge in Kakashi's grip. He wiggled more, but Kakashi just clamped down harder, though his eyes didn't focus on him and remained ahead. Then he lifted Omaeda in the air and moving only his arm, effortlessly launched him out of the open window.
The second he flew out of the window every one in the room was up and on the feet staring him down. Kakashi stood his ground. If he was able to take out the second highest ranking officer here, there was only one he had to worry about; the one standing in front of the chair.
Captain Soi Fon glared at him from across the room with daggers in her eyes.
"What is this insubordination?!" she fumed.
"None." Kakashi responded "I'm not in your squad."
Her glare intensified "Who are you?"
"My name is Kakashi Hatake." he answered "I've come here to help my friend" he paused grimacing beneath his mask. That was for Piccolo, but there was something else. He wanted to stop this cycle, this prophecy that had been forced onto them. But there was something else he wanted as well, he was here now and he was not going to let this get away. His next words came out bitterly ".. and I'm here for you Soi Fon. For what you did to Guy."
No one in the room moved. They all stood perfectly still trying to anticipate who would move first and what would happen next.
"Pah!" Soi Fon spat "I don't know what you're talking about." Kakashi became enraged by that remark, but didn't show it outside of his glare. "But I'll make you regret ever stepping foot in here." she reached for her sword that dangled across her back.
In an instant Kakashi reached for a kunai and hurled it across the room, heading right for Soi fon's face. He pulled out as her sword but the knife reached her face, coming right before it once her sword left it's sheath.
Then in a flash it disappeared from in front of her face.
Kakashi was surely surprised by it, and she was too. Her because of how fast he was, but him because he had missed.
As it turns out, he hadn't. Some one had caught the knife. Looking at Soi Fon's feet he saw the culprit.
A small black cat with his knife in it's mouth.
At the sight of it, Kakashi's demeanor changed remarkably. His jaw dropped in both shock and astonishment. His arms hung limply to his sides and his eye was wide open. With the knife in it's mouth the black cat turned to look at him with bright golden eyes.
'Oh you gotta be kidding me.' he thought dumbfounded and was thankful the mask hid the look on his face. 'Guy' he sighed and became more relaxed in his face 'I owe you an apology.' he stood up straight to regard his new foe.
"Y-Yoruichi" Soi Fon let out and the cat opened its mouth dropping the knife to the floor, but kept it's eyes on Kakashi. "I-"
"It's alright." the cat spoke with the voice of the man he had heard from another room from before. No one in the room except Kakashi seemed shocked by that revelation. He did a good job at hiding it however, because another thought had entered his mind. "It's me he wants, I think." the cat spoke as it looked to the emblem that sat on the chair "If he's here for what I think he is." he rotated is small head and peered up to Kakashi.
"Strange as it may sound." Kakashi paused looking down at the cat "I think we agree."
"Well, we can go from there can't we?" he asked. "You're quite the rude one, you know?" he said poking it's head forward "Barging into other people's home and crashing their welcoming party. Are you upset you didn't get an invitation?" Kakashi said nothing "The look on the only visible part of your face tells me your unapologetic."
"Admittedly." he answered "But I must admit I've never seen an ordinary animal talk before."
"Oh! And just what makes you think I'm ordinary?" the cat peered forward.
Kakashi pondered an answer briefly "Nothing, I suppose." he admitted tiredly.
The cat laughed "We agree again then. I am quite exceptional." Kakashi said nothing after that as the cat basked in its own glory "This is about that man in the woods I fought? The loud one?" Yoruichi asked, less congratulatory and more serious. Kakashi solemnly nodded his head "And here you are," Yoruichi continued "So far from there all for that." Yoruichi paused setting those golden eyes onto Kakashi "Very well" he said "Soi Fon" he called back and she snapped to attention "Make sure my bath is still warm. I'll be in there once I'm done here."
"Y-yes" she bowed obediently.
"The rest of you might want to get out of here too." he advised "I bet it's going to get messy." Both Kakashi and the cat kept their eyes on each other as the room became less crowded. The masses shuffled past them and out any nearby exit. Soon enough it was only the two of them in the room.
"So.." Kakashi said breaking the silence "What now?" he asked. Now he would see what it was that beat Guy.
"I suppose now you do what you came all this way to do, right Kakashi?". He took a step forward to try and get closer to the headband, but the cat reacted and tensed up to any move he made.
"That's fine with me, Yoruichi." he said.
"Fine." Yoruichi answered "Then let's do this for real." he said as he lurched down, his shoulder blades pointing upwards as he did. Kakashi raised an eyebrow.
Suddenly Yoruichi disappeared into a patch of mist. Kakashi snapped the second it happened and put a knife in his hand. Looking into the mist, he could see a vaguely human figure lurking inside.
Outskirts of the Leaf Village
"What a nice kid." Goku said aloud as Naruto jumped into the trees "Kinda reminds me of me when I was younger." he chuckled lively to himself before turning back to look up at the sky. "And a strange energy." Goku thought aloud curiously, his voice more serious now. Different than Kenpachi's that's for sure, but stronger than the other energies that were unique to this world. Curious indeed. What could it mean? Come to think of it he hadn't met any inhabitants of this world so far besides Rock Lee, but what Goku sensed from him was nothing like what he sensed in Naruto.
He would have asked him more about it, but Naruto was in a hurry and Goku would be close behind him, giving them enough time to ask all the questions he wanted once he caught up to him. By now Naruto had disappeared within thee trees all around Goku, leaving him behind, but it would not be not for long.
Once Kenpachi returned, he would go catch up with Naruto. And from there they'd catch the Tailed Beasts together. And then get a nice good dinner too. Then he wondered, maybe they could eat the tailed beasts? Who knew what they tasted like?! His mouth was beginning to run with all the distinct possibilities of a new kind of food. And with every good food goes a good drink. And what about a desert-
He was shaken from his daydream by a violent crack of thunder. Looking around he hadn't noticed any change in his surroundings. Looking up he saw the sky was the same as before. The sun was hiding behind even more clouds though making everything darker, almost as if it was night. Another rumble and crack shook the ground and echoed through the air.
"Huh?" Goku let out. That was definitely not thunder. Thunder doesn't make the ground shake like that. A flock of birds scurried across the sky above him rushing away from the loud boom. "Weird?" he pondered aloud. He turned his head towards what seemed to be the source of the shockwave. Starring off he had a strange dreadful thought enter his mind.
'Isn't that direction Naruto was heading?'
A third violent sound erupted throughout the area, shaking the ground harder than before and Goku snapped his head in it's direction. An entire section of the forest suddenly erupted in a cloud of dust along with another clap of thunder. Screaming could even be heard in the distance.
"He's in trouble!" Goku exclaimed "I knew, I shouldn't have left him alone!" Kenpachi would have to wait. If anything, someone else needed his help now. Goku didn't hesitate jumping into the air to the overcast sky to fly as fast as he could towards the danger. Another crash let out on the ground ahead of him and he saw another section of the forest disappear as a massive wave of light energy was released. It sliced away at the trees, and a chunk of the ground was uprooted as well.
Looking down at the epicenter of the clash Goku could see there were two people who were forced back from the blow of the other. One of them was definitely Naruto, that orange jumpsuit was easy to spot even from all the way up here. The other was some black robed young man wielding the largest sword he'd ever seen, though even from here Goku could see a tuff of orange hair on his head. The two had just been repelled from the other landing across the small clearing they made from their previous clash. No sooner had they stopped themselves from the blowback from before had they charged forward at each other. Goku quickly descended down to them.
Naruto reared his fist back, the other one raised his sword and they both let loose their attack to hit the other when Goku crashed head first down to the ground between them.
And then they all stopped.
"Huh?!" "What?!" the two of them let out in shock and confusion.
Between the two of them, with Naruto's fist in one hand and the sword in the other, was none other than Goku bracing himself between the two.
"Now guys." he paused to raise his head to view both of them "Isn't there a better way to solve your problems?" He released both from his grip and instinctively the swordsman jumped back, putting distance between the two. But he was unnerved when Naruto didn't.
"G-Goku?!" Naruto let out shocked. Not only at his sudden appearance, but at what he had just displayed.
"I told you, I'd be right behind you." Goku smiled looking sideways down at him.
"I-I didn't expect to see you so soon." Naruto stammered at first, but found his words.
"Well," he shrugged "I couldn't wait forever could I?" The two shared a laugh before turning to view the other one across the newly made valley. "Who's this one?" he asked seriously "Not some one from home I bet."
"No." Naruto responded fiercely as they starred him down together. "He's the reason I had to leave."
"Is he?" Goku asked as he looked him up and down. He tried to sense him as well and he liked what he sensed.
"Lucky I found him when I did. He was heading straight for home." Naruto grumbled behind Goku, but kept his eyes past him.
It wasn't long after he had left Goku that Naruto ran into this swordsman. When he said he was heading to the Leaf Village to look for a friend Naruto was already suspicious. His look matched the description of what Sakura said her opponent looked like. So when Naruto made the comparison and mentioned Rukia to him, he flared up as well. It wasn't long until accusations towards the other and attacks followed soon after.
"Hm." Goku let out "Wonder why?" he asked. Naruto didn't answer him before he decided to go to the source "Hey, there!" Goku waved from across the way, his voice almost cheery "What brings you out here?" he asked.
The young man raised an eyebrow to him, but otherwise his face and posture remained unmoved "I'm looking for some one." he responded bluntly.
"I'll say. You've done a good job of it." Goku said looking back to Naruto. "Maybe more than you anticipated." he said before looking back to over him. He didn't tense up or flinch at Goku's word. He was entirely composed, but kept his sword out in front of him at all times.
"You've no idea." he huffed back, his voice travelling over the pointed tip of his blade to reach Goku.
"My name is Goku." he introduced himself.
"Ichigo Kurosaki." the boy finished them and the second he did Goku's eyes went wide. That name! That name? Why did it sound so familiar to him.
Then he remembered.
Kenpachi had told him of somebody strong. Somebody who managed to beat some one as ferocious as him. And his name just happened to be 'Ichigo Kurosaki'.
"Well," Goku smiled as he took a step forward "isn't this lucky." he rolled his arm as he walked away from Naruto before coming to a stop setting himself evenly paced between Ichigo and Naruto now "I've been looking for you Ichigo."
He raised an eyebrow "Have you now?"
"Yep." Goku stopped and nodded "I was told you were an incredibly strong fighter. A real challenge." he couldn't help but get more enthusiastic as he spoke.
"How modest." he said simply "And who told you that I wonder?"
"Someone you know." Goku said "Kenpachi Zaraki."
Alarm suddenly came over Ichigo's face "You fought Kenpachi!"
Goku rolled his arm "And beat him too." he said. Looking around Goku's back and towards Ichigo Naruto couldn't help, but giggle. If Goku had already taken down a strong opponent and friend of Ichigo, then he truly found himself a strong new ally.
"I see." Ichigo's eyes peered towards Goku "I'm not surprised he threw my name into the mix."
"So whatta say? Goku asked "Ready for a real fight?"
"Hey." Naruto chirped from behind him. Ichigo looked to Goku and Naruto behind him.
"It doesn't seem like I have a choice." Ichigo answered gripping his sword tightly. "Great" he let out a breath "Another one." Though Ichigo sounded worn out by the antics already, he was far from it and was ready to defend himself no matter the odds.
Goku was prepared as well. "Naruto." he called back to him "You sit this one out alright? I wanna fight this guy myself."
"What?-How do-" Naruto's protest went unanswered as Goku stood off against Ichigo, his back to Naruto as if he wasn't there at all. He clenched his fist tightly and planted his feet firmly into the ground. He opened his mouth and let out scream. It rose higher and higher and as it did so did his powers. The wind picked up and was so strong it shook the ground beneath them, as powerfully as their attacks before had done. Trees were torn from their roots, the ground cracked around them and Goku was embedded into it.
Ichigo starred on unflinching the entire time, but Naruto had a much different expression; utter shock.
The power Goku was displaying now. He was almost a different person. Not the kind, genial man he met in the forest. A blood thirsty powerful warrior. And then it dawned in him as he watched this unfold.
Ichigo. A wandering swordsman.
Goku. A man of incredible power.
They were right here in front of him. Ready to fight.
And here he was, the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox. Destined to fight them both.
Naruto clenched his fist as he stood in place. He thought of everyone, of everything. Goku lowered his voice and the shaking stopped. His voice drifted off into the distance as he looked confidently over to Ichigo.
"So whatta think?" he asked the swordsman, but his answer came behind him.
"Goku." Naruto said behind him. Goku tuned his head to look over his shoulder. "What is it you came here for? Really. What are you looking for?"
"Me?" Goku let out curiously over his shoulder "That's easy. I came here to find swordsman like Ichigo." he turned his head forward to look at him "As for the other thing..." he paused and the anticipation of what could be said next filled Naruto with dread. Goku then turned his head back to him "It's for a tailed beast." he felt his heart drop. But Goku did not notice the drastic change in expressions and continued on "I heard he's in the Hidden Leaf Village so that's where I was heading before-"
"The Nine Tailed Fox." Naruto cut him off "Is that what you're looking for?"
"A Nine Tailed Fox?" Goku repeated "Hmm sounds right." he nodded "Yeah. Do you know where it is?"
"Goku.." Naruto gulped and bowed his head. He had a small smile on his face; one that seemed to be a mix of knowing and sadness. That was the last Goku saw of it until he bowed his head hiding it from him. "I told you I came out here to find some one. Well.." his voice changed from. Sounding growlier than before. Then Naruto turned his head up looking forward seeing Goku before him and Ichigo farther down. "I've found both of them!" his eyes locked onto Goku, filled with anger and rage. It seems he couldn't trust anyone right now.
Now it was Goku who noticed the feral look in Naruto's eyes. He looked at him now as if they had just met for the first time. These were not present before when he fought only Ichigo. There was something more now.
'That energy..' Goku thought as he turned to view him fully now. 'That power!'
Whatever questions he had about Naruto had just been answered. So he was the host that Gohan told him about.
"That's it?!" Goku shouted turning back to Naruto more "You're the host!" he concluded in shock as he focused on Naruto more "I can't believe it!" Goku said astonished, though his voice and posture remained serious "I must admit your not what I expected."
Naruto's face scrunched up in anger "Most people would agree with that."
"And to think I almost let you go back there." he mused. He looked back to Ichigo and then to Naruto. "So it's finally come down to this. The three of us here!" he announced.
"Yeah" Naruto nodded "But no matter what happens.. I'm going to beat both of you. That's my ninja way!" he exclaimed.
"What are you two prattling on about?" Ichigo asked cutting back into the conversation.
"You'll find out soon enough." Goku said as he resumed his fighting stance.
Naruto bent down to the ground, placing kunai knives in-between each of his fingers. Goku readied himself from an assault on both sides and Ichigo gripped his sword.
The prophecy was about to come true.
