A Certain Scientific Vampire Killer
Chapter 3: Here to Stay
I rushed back to my home while carrying the bag that contained the new outfit that I got at the shopping mall with Nanoha and Seiri. I had to get back to the apartment quickly so that I could make dinner for both myself and Tsukuyomi since I was on cooking duty for tonight, and I didn't want her to know that I forgot about it. Tsukuyomi would probably cry, and I really don't want to deal with her crying again, this would make it the fourth time today I think.
As I made my way back to the apartment, I discovered that something was off, the front door was open. Tsukuyomi always locks the door when she gets home because I have a key, so why would the front door be open? I decided that I might as well walk into the apartment to see what was going on, I'm sure that I'm just overthinking things Tsukuyomi forgot to lock the door, right?
"Teacher, I'm home, I'm sorry for getting home so late, I was doing homework at Nanoha's house, I'll make dinner right now." I said while entering the apartment, 'teacher' should have definitely gotten her attention, let alone me opening the door, so why was she not there to greet me? I searched throughout the entire house, her room, my room, the bathroom, even in the closet, but there was no sign of Tsukuyomi whatsoever.
"Teacher, if you are trying to play a game of hide and seek, I think it's time for you to come out now, I'm starting to get worried." I said out loud, waiting to hear her voice say something like 'ha I was just joking around but there was no response at all. Maybe Tsukuyomi just decided to leave and buy dinner for herself because I was taking so long, but here's a ton of food in the fridge? Or maybe she is at the bathhouse with her friends, but wouldn't she be back now?
I was getting more and more worried by the second, this didn't make any sense, where could she have g-gone? Then I finally noticed, a message written on the back of the apartment door, a message that was written in blood, and I read the message to myself.
"Meet me by the abandoned construction site by midnight, or I will kill the girl with the name 'Tsukuyomi Komoe' and make sure to come alone or she will suffer the consequences."
That's what the message said, my heart started beating like crazy, my knees felt weak, and I thought I was going to collapse. I feel sick. I feel sick. I feel sick. I feel like I'm about to throw up. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. What the hell is going on? How did this happen? Why did this happen? This doesn't make any sense? Who would kidnap Tsukuyomi? Why does someone want to find me? What do they want from me? To kill me? Who would want to kill me?
It hit me, I finally realized what was going on, and there is only one possible answer that makes everything fit into place like a complex puzzle. It was the work of a vampire. A vampire that was using Tsukuyomi as bait, in order to fight and then kill me.
"I'm sure that all the vampires are extinct, I killed so many that night, plus there's no way any of them would actually try to find me."
I sprinted out of the apartment as fast I could, not wasting a single second to slow down as those words struck me like a speeding truck to the face. It was my fault. It was all my fault. Tsukuyomi is in danger, and it's all my fault! Tsukuyomi was taken as a hostage, she might have put up a fight, she might be hurt, and it's all because of my stupidity! This all happened because I threw away the catholic cross, all because I thought it didn't look good on me! This wouldn't have happened if I listened to Nanoha and kept it, that catholic cross was restricting my power, so there would have been no way a vampire could have found me! More importantly, if I kept the cross necklace, Tsukuyomi would not be in danger right now, she would be completely alright.
"I'm such a dumbass," I muttered to myself in a quiet voice that no one would have been able to hear except me. Tsukuyomi would be ok and well if I wasn't so stupid if I never met her!
A few months ago
"Hey teacher, do you mind if this girl lives with you from on?" A certain spiky, black-haired man said.
"Eh, Toma, why do you only talk to me when you need something, it hurts my feelings." A certain short, pink-haired loli said while wearing a pink dress along with a light-pink jacket.
"I'm sorry! I just really need a favor, the thing is I know a girl around my age that lost her house, and has no place to live. I would let her stay at my place; however, I already have a roommate who eats anything and everything, as well as a cat. So it would make things really difficult if I had to support another roommate on top of the one already living with me, is there any way you could let her live at your place, at least for a little while? Please! I beg you! Toma said while bowing down on his knees to the pink-haired loli in front of him.
"Wait what! There is a girl who is currently homeless and out on the streets and you're asking me to please take care of her? Of course, I would! Toma, what kind of heartless person would I be to refuse such an important request! Let me see her right now!" The pink-haired loli yelled toward Toma.
"Well, you probably heard her; you can come in here now," Toma said while a certain girl with long, straight, black hair walked into the classroom.
"I beg your pardon, do you really not mind if I live with you, I've only just met you, and you don't even know my name? The girl with long, straight, black hair said.
"You are joking, right? I would never let a young girl like you be forced to walk the streets on a cold winter night, while your stomach grumbled without food, and without a place to call home. That would be awful! I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I were to let that happen!" The pink-haired loli yelled, which only made the girl with black hair more confused.
"I don't understand. I don't deserve your kindness! Why me! Why would you care so much for a girl you don't even know! The girl with long, straight, black hair screamed, as tears started to run down her face.
"You are correct; I don't know you yet, so why don't you tell me your name? I'll go first; my name is Tsukuyomi Komoe, the self-proclaimed greatest teacher at a certain high school! And you are? Tsukuyomi said while lifting her arm to shake the girl with black hair's hand.
"My name is Himegami Aisa. I'm a self-proclaimed beautiful girl! Aisa said while wiping her tears from her eyes and lifting her arm to grasp Tsukuyomi's hand.
"You are not alone now, so you can count on me! Tsukuyomi said with a cheerful smile while holding Aisa's hand with her own hand.
Why am I remembering that memory right now? I thought to myself while continuing to dash at full speed toward the abandoned construction site, where Tsukuyomi is.
Oh, I see now, it's because Tsukuyomi was so absurdly kind to a girl that she only just met. Tsukuyomi was always so kind to me, always cheerful around me, and I loved her for that.
"I swear, I swear I'm going to save you, Tsukuyomi!" I roared at the top of my lungs, as I continued to make my way toward the girl that I swore that I would save.
I finally reached the abandoned construction site, it was a few miles from the apartment to the construction site, so I was out of breath and gasping for air, but I didn't let that stop me.
"Where are you, bastard! I've come to rescue Tsukuyomi, so show yourself so I can kick your ass!" I screamed while looking all around the construction site until I saw them both.
I saw a creature with a black mullet, clothes that are all black consisting of a jacket, shirt, sunglasses, and jeans. The creature was over nine feet tall with many outrageous muscles poking out of its body, though I already knew what that 'creature' was. I also saw a certain short, pink-haired loli who was wearing a pink dress along with a light-pink jacket. Tsukuyomi had tears flowing out of her eyes, while chained to a nearby wall; she also had a piece of tape stuck to her mouth that was preventing her from speaking. It all really pissed me off.
"Release Tsukuyomi right now, or I swear to god I'll kill you where you stand, you vampire!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, my rage was reaching its boiling point. I wanted to, no, I needed to fight and defeat this monster right here and right now.
"I refuse, if I was to release the girl right now, then you wouldn't have a reason to fight me, and you and the girl would probably run away. If that were to happen, then the mission would be a complete failure, and I refuse to let you escape alive. Himegami Aisa, you will suffer the most excruciating death that I can give you, and then when you're dead, I will give the girl a quick, painless death since she was the perfect hostage to lure you here. The vampire said its voice was not human at all, it was horrifying to listen to, and it could make any sane individual go completely insane just by hearing it. That fact didn't matter to me, because my anger was the only emotion I was feeling right now, I won't let this bastard kill me, and I will never allow it the chance to hurt Tsukuyomi!
"Have it your way, you kidnapped and threatened Tsukuyomi, so I'll kill you for that! My name is Himegami Aisa, and I swear I will save Tsukuyomi, we'll both go home, and you will be nothing but ashes on the ground!" I screamed while taking a battle stance so that I could fight this bastard one on one.
"Yes! That's the fighting spirit that I waiting to see! My name is the Vampire King Korn! You will not defeat me; you have no chance against me, so prepare to die a merciless death, a girl with the ability Deep Blood, Himegami Aisa!" The vampire roared back at me, while taking its own battle stance, preparing itself for our duel. This is going to be a battle to the death, one lives, and one dies, it's that simple, and I'm going to win no matter what!
I sprinted straight toward the Vampire King Korn at the fastest speed I could manage, I'll hit it with everything I got before it knew what hit it, and then I'll kill it! The Vampire King Korn, just stood there in place, ha, this will be easy, don't worry Tsukuyomi, this bastard is about to die, and then we can both go home.
I struck the Vampire King Korn right in the jaw; it definitely must have felt that, as I looked right at it in the face. The vampire didn't even flinch from the strike I landed.
"Is that really the best you can do, I'm disappointed by you, I expected far more of a challenge from you, Himegami Aisa. The vampire King Korn said, while staring at me in the eyes, the attack I landed on it left him utterly unfazed. My hit did absolutely nothing to it, that monster didn't even feel pain whatsoever, that's impossible!
"My turn now." The vampire King Korn said, as he punched me right in the solar plexus, while I went flying into a nearby wall and crashed into it.
"Dam it, your blood got on my arm, that kind of hurts you know." The vampire King Korn said while its skin peeled off its left arm which revealed white bones poking out of where its flesh used to be.
I proceeded to cough out a lot of blood, there was so much blood leaking from my mouth, it was absolutely agonizing. If it wasn't for my Esper ability, Deep Blood, which neutralized part of the Vampire King Korn's blow, I would have died on the spot. The attack also sent me crashing into a wall, that definitely broke a few of my bones, I don't even know if I could stand now. What is this emotion I'm feeling? My heart is beating so fast. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. The pain hurt like hell. Am I scared? Am I going to die? I don't want to die. I don't want to die. I don't want to die. I can't die until I figure out what makes life precious and worth living!
I looked toward Tsukuyomi; she was crying her eyes out, as she watched me bleed while being chained to the wall. I remembered what my goal was, why I was here fighting against an absurdly strong vampire, it's because I promised that I would save Tsukuyomi, no matter what! I need a weapon, anything will do, something that will definitely hurt that smug bastard. I looked around what was near me, there were a few broken bottles and bricks, and those probably wouldn't even dent that monster. No, I need something that will hurt the Vampire King Korn and kill it for sure, if only I had a katana, and then I could slice that bastard into many pieces easily.
Something felt strange, I looked at all the blood that I had coughed up from the Vampire King Korn's attack, my blood, and it was all morphing and changing shape around me. My blood changed into a weapon, not just any weapon though, my blood morphed into a red katana!
"Finally, it's about time you realized your true power and drew out a weapon, now, stand up. It's time to give me your all and FIGHT ME, Himegami Aisa!" The Vampire King Korn roared at the top of its lungs while resuming its battle stance. This wasn't the time to falter, it for better or worse was right, I had to fight so that I can kill that monster and rescue Tsukuyomi!
I charged headlong at the enemy that was in front of me, the Vampire King Korn, with my blood-red katana in my hands, ready to slice this bastard into two pieces! My stomach was hurting, my back was hurting, my arms were hurting, and everything was hurting. However, all of that was not enough to stop me from moving toward that vampire, I was going to achieve a happy ending for both me and Tsukuyomi, no matter what!
I finally reached the Vampire King Korn, everything started to feel slow like time has completely stopped. I could read its movements, it moved its arm, it was going for an uppercut to try and knock my head off of my body. However, I was faster; I thought to myself while I performed a backflip, avoiding the vampire's attack. I proceeded to lift my blood-red katana in the air and executed a forward strike into Korn's body, which sliced its chest open.
My blow revealed the vampire's insides, innards, and bones, which definitely hurt that bastard for sure. The Vampire King Korn then proceeded to move its leg to strike me in my right arm, the arm which was currently holding the blood-red katana, I read its movement again and dodged to create some distance between both of us. Korn proceeded to laugh and clap its hands.
"Hahaha! Rejoice, young girl, you are the first person to inflict significant damage onto me in over a hundred years. You've now earned my respect, I was previously only using a third of my strength and speed, I will now use two-thirds, prepare yourself, Himegami Aisa!" The Vampire King Korn roared while taking a fighting stance.
"Ha! I didn't know that vampires were so easy to fight against, and you are only saying that was a portion of your strength, even if you used your full power I wouldn't even break a sweat against you, vampire!" I screamed while taking a fighting stance, with my blood-red katana pointed toward the Vampire King Korn. I made that cocky comment so that I could relieve myself, am I scared? No, it's not the time to be scared, what that vampire said about only using a third of its power had to be a bluff. Even if it wasn't, I can do this; I won't lose, not to that bastard! I proceeded to sprint toward Korn so that I could land the killing blow.
However, the Vampire King Korn then appeared right in front of me; it was in an instant, it felt like teleportation. I couldn't even see that vampire move, it's fast, and its way too fast! Korn proceeded to lift its arm and punch me in my right arm, which was still holding my blood-red katana, it was a direct hit and my arm instantly shattered due to the sheer force of the hit.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed at the top of my lungs while collapsing to the ground due to the unbearable pain. That attack was much more painful than that vampire's previous one that landed in my solar plexus, my right arm was definitely broken, and I won't be able to use it at all for the remainder of this fight. Hell, I'd be lucky if I could ever move my right arm again after that devastating blow that bastard landed on it.
The pain of having my right arm broken hurts like hell, but I won't let that stop me, I can still fight, I will still fight that vampire bastard and win! The Vampire King Korn proceeded to move its now healed left arm and aimed it at my legs, I could see the attack coming, but I can't move my body in time! Korn proceeded to land another bone-crushing blow onto me, this time on my left leg, it a direct hit, and my left leg was completely shattered by the strike of its fist.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed at the top of my lungs while coughing up blood now, as I tried to crawl away from the vampire that was above me. My left leg is broken too now, along with my right arm that only leaves me with two available limbs to use in the fight. I can't fight with only two limbs! I can't even walk right now, let alone stand! It hurts! It hurts! It hurts! The pain is absolutely unbearable! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I don't want to die! This isn't happening! This is a dream! I'll wake up soon and laugh this off as a bad memory! This can't be real! I was thinking all of that to myself as my head then felt like it was utterly crushed.
The Vampire King Korn landed a devastating blow to my head. I can't even scream anymore. The pain is too much to deal with anymore. I'm going to die. Tsukuyomi is going to die. It's all of my fault. Why did I throw that catholic cross away? Why did I have to meet Tsukuyomi? Why did I have to see my friends die? Why did I have to watch my family die? Why was I born with such a cursed ability that attracts vampires to me? Why the hell was I even born in the first place?! I don't know anymore. I guess it doesn't matter anymore. I'm going to die. At least my life wasn't all bad memories and pain. I met good people. People that actually gave a crap about a worthless person like me. Toma. Seiri. Nanoha. Tsukuyomi. Farewell, my friends. This is the end. I wish I could have learned what makes life precious and worth living. But, even more than that, I wish I could have saved her. I then lost consciousness. I guess I'm dead.
"Is that seriously the best you got? Get up. We are just getting started." The Vampire King Korn stood its foot on the lifeless body of a certain girl with long, straight, black hair.
"Oh, I guess I used too much power on her that she couldn't handle it anymore. Himegami Aisa must have died due to the severe amount of pain of my attacks. That's very anticlimactic, well, she's dead, and so the mission is complete." The Vampire King Korn said while walking toward a certain short, pink-haired loli wearing a pink dress along with a light-pink jacket.
"I guess I'll kill that pink-haired girl as I said, and then go home." The Vampire King Korn said while it proceeded to crack its knuckles and regenerate its skin on its left arm as well as on its chest.
The sound of footsteps approaching made the Vampire King Korn stop in its tracks. Korn proceeded to dodge to avoid the person rushing toward it, but the vampire wasn't quick enough. The Vampire King Korn's jaw was punched clean off, and it fell to the ground.
What? Impossible, there's only one person who could have unleashed an attack that could damage me this much. But I killed her. She's dead. The Vampire King Korn thought to itself while looking for the corpse of a certain girl with long, straight, black hair. She wasn't there.
The girl with the Esper ability Deep Blood was not dead and lying on the ground. The Vampire King Korn proceeded to look down toward its attacker who was standing in place right near the vampire, the person had red-blood soaked hair, while wearing clothes that were ripped and torn, and having multiple broken limbs. The vampire couldn't believe what it was seeing with its own eyes, it was the ultimate enemy of all vampires, Himegami Aisa, who is still alive.
Himegami Aisa was wielding a blood-red gauntlet on her left hand, which knocked off the Vampire King Korn's jaw onto the ground. Korn couldn't even speak anymore due to the injury that was delivered by Aisa, what was left of its mouth was leaking blood onto the ground. The vampire tried to unleash a counterattack onto the girl in front of it, but was immediately met with a blow from Aisa's blood-red gauntlet right in its stomach, and Korn was sent into a nearby wall.
Himegami Aisa proceeded to fix her broken right arm back into place and made another blood-red gauntlet for her right arm.
"Red Gauntlet!" Aisa screamed while taking a battle stance with her fists in front of her face. The Vampire King Korn couldn't believe what was in front of its eyes, it was Himegami Aisa, but she seemed like a completely different person. Aisa was using her blood powers effortlessly; the girl resembled a trained assassin, not an incompetent fighter like she was earlier.
Himegami Aisa was staring down the Vampire King Korn, ready to unleash another devastating attack the instant it moves. Korn was excited; all the vampire wanted was a worthy opponent to fight, a fight that challenges it to its limits, that's all it wanted. The vampire's face twisted into the shape of a monster, it was a horrific face, the face you would see in your nightmares. The monster didn't even resemble the Vampire King Korn anymore, its black sunglasses were broken, and its clothes were ripped due to the absurd amount of muscles poking out of its body. The monster looked like a berserker, with bloodshot eyes, and broken teeth sticking out of where his mouth used to be, and it rushed toward Aisa at lightning speed while shattering the earth with its feet. The monster was thinking of only one thing. KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!
"You vampires are all the same, rampaging beasts that are asking to be killed by me," Aisa said while dodging the monster's strike that was aimed for her head. Aisa proceeded to counterattack with her blood-red gauntlets, unleashing a fury of blows that were all direct hits against the monster's chest. Blood proceeded to gush from the monster's chest.
The monster's chest split open again due to the devastating assault by Aisa, which revealed its innards and bones, as the blood-red gauntlets proceeded to disintegrate. This was the monster's chance. It was the final chance to kill the girl with the ability Deep Blood, Himegami Aisa. The monster refused to waste this chance to finally take the girl's life, it aimed its right arm to strike into her chest, and then crush her heart, killing her instantly.
Before the monster could unleash the killing blow, its right arm was chopped clean off by a blood-red katana. Himegami Aisa was wielding not one, but two blood-red katanas.
"Double Red Katana!" Aisa screamed while proceeding to slice off the monster's left arm, which then landed on the ground next to its right arm. Now armless, the monster screamed with all the strength it had left, the force caused Aisa's ears to bleed, but that wasn't enough to stop her, not now, not ever. Himegami Aisa proceeded to strike the monster many times with everything she had, strike, after the strike, after the blood-soaked strike. Each slice cutting off a piece of the monster's body, feet, legs, ribs, shoulders, eyes, ears, every part of its body. And after seventeen strikes, the monster was on the ground in many unrecognizable pieces. The vampire that Aisa fought against in a brutal, bloody, death battle, was no more, the Vampire King Korn was dead.
Himegami Aisa closed and opened her eyes again, and she stared at the gruesome sight that was in front of her eyes. Oh, it happened again, another dead vampire in front of my eyes, which I killed. I don't have any memory of killing that vampire bastard, after what felt like my head being completely crushed, I lost consciousness, I honestly thought I died due to the unbearable pain. Then the next thing I saw was the dead corpse of the Vampire King Korn that was cut into many pieces, it would have been unrecognizable for me if it wasn't for what I saw that night.
However, that didn't matter to me anymore, the Vampire King Korn was dead, and that was that. What mattered now was reaching Tsukuyomi, and freeing her from the chains that are wrapped around her body, I looked toward Tsukuyomi, and she was alright.
"Thank goodness," I said while massive amounts of pain started hitting me all at once, I started coughing up blood, the blood-red katanas that I was apparently dual wielding, disintegrated in front of my eyes. This pain, no, I have to rescue Tsukuyomi first. I started walking towards where Tsukuyomi was, each time I moved my body hurt like hell, but I have to keep moving, I have to keep moving forward! I thought to myself while getting closer to Tsukuyomi.
I finally reached Tsukuyomi; there was a knife right near her on the ground, so I picked it up. I proceeded to break the chains that were restricting Tsukuyomi, with my left hand, as I removed the tape that was stuck to her mouth with my right hand. Tsukuyomi was finally freed.
"Long time no see, teacher," I said while making a weak smile.
"Aisa-chan! You are hurt! Your right arm is broken! Your left leg is shattered! Your head is leaking blood! You are bleeding everywhere! Why? Why did you go far to save me? Shouldn't you consider your life to be worth more than mine? I don't understand? Why didn't you just let me die?! Tsukuyomi screamed while many tears flooded her eyes. Tsukuyomi was crying throughout the majority of the fight and she is now crying again because of seeing the person she viewed as a daughter in a near-death-like state. I didn't want to see her cry anymore.
"I risked my life to rescue you because ever since I first met you, you were always so kind to me. You cared about me. You worried about me. You were always so cheerful around me. I love you, Tsukuyomi. You are not alone now, so you can count on me!" I said while making a cheerful smile as tears started dripping from my eyes. I started to lose my balance and fell.
"Aisa-chan! Oh my god! I'm going to call 911 right now! So please stay awake Aisa-chan!" Tsukuyomi screamed while holding my body up and grabbing her phone. I realized something. I did it. I finally did it. I saved somebody. Not just anyone, I saved her. I saved Tsukuyomi. I finally did something good for once in my life. Maybe my life isn't worthless after all. Is my life precious and worth living now? I thought to myself as I started to lose consciousness again, even the pain wasn't enough to keep me awake now. I don't want to die. But if I don't wake up again, at least I saved someone, someone that I love and care about so much.
"Aisa-chan keep your eyes open! Aisa-chan! Aisa-chan please don't die! AISA-CHAN!" Someone screamed my name while I blacked out.
Hello everyone! Ren here! With this chapter, I wanted to show the fight between Aisa and Korn that I was building up to for a little while. I decided to make Aisa's powers most interesting by giving her the ability to manipulate her blood. This part of her power will get properly explained later on so look forward to it! This chapter had a ton of action in it and I hope you guys all enjoyed it! There will be plenty more fights to come in the near future! Also, this song is another Korn song and well if it isn't already obvious the rest of the villains will all be named after music bands, so like JoJo if any of you guys have seen that! See you later guys, chapter 4 will be posted soon after this one! Ren out!
