A Certain Scientific Vampire Killer
Chapter 7: Perfect Situation
My eyes opened to the sight of a very familiar ceiling, it was pure white, the standard plaster for a room in an apartment. I was back in Tsukuyomi's apartment, my home, after the unexpected appearance of the Vampire King Weezer, the ferocious battle that came with said encounter, and my first meeting with the mercenary, Frenda Seivelun. Frenda Seivelun is a unique girl with an apparent talent for detonating explosives, who I have now hired as a mercenary so that she can help me fight and kill the remaining Vampire Kings.
What happened after the fight against the Vampire King Weezer and my life as well as Tsukuyomi's life being saved by Frenda is still kind of a blur. I mean, I remember what happened, just as Skill Out was about to arrive on the scene of the utterly destroyed grocery store where the battle took place in. Frenda's 'grunt' her words not mine, arrived in the nick of time to help me, Tsukuyomi, and Frenda getaway the annihilated building.
If Hamazura Shiage, the 'grunt' who helped me and Frenda escape, hadn't arrived just in time, we would have certainly got mistaken as criminals who destroyed the grocery store and would have been arrested because of it. However, thankfully, I, Tsukuyomi, and Frenda, along with Hamazura managed to escape the ruins of the destroyed building and we all made it back to Tsukuyomi's apartment by the time the sun was setting in the sky.
Flashback to earlier yesterday
"Holy crap! We actually managed to escape that grocery store and somehow made it back home! Phew, I thought I was completely screwed!" I said while wiping the sweat off of my forehead.
"Eh? I thought you said that we were going to be fine for sure? You also said that you believed in me! Did you lie to me Aisa?" Frenda said while pouting and pointing one of her fingers at me.
"To be honest, yeah, I thought we were both going to be arrested without any chance of getting out of the situation unscathed. Sorry, Frenda! But hey look at the bright side! We all made it out of those horrible circumstances a-ok! So let's just both forget what happened earlier and relax for the rest of the night! Sounds good, right Frenda?" I said with the most cheerful smile I could manage while patting Frenda's head in order to possibly rectify this situation before it gets worse.
"Fine. While I'm slightly disappointed that you didn't believe in me all that much, it was pretty crappy circumstances, so it is what it is. I forgive you for what happened, but the next time you lie to me, I'm putting a bomb on your butt, Aisa!" Frenda said with a smile on her face in a very menacing voice. Huh, I never realized it until now, but, Frenda is kind of scary. I'll try not to piss her off anytime soon, probably, hopefully.
"Well, hahaha! I promise that I won't lie to you ever again. Anyway! Uh, um, I'll see you tomorrow, Frenda! The sun is setting, so it's almost nighttime, and Tsukuyomi needs to get her beauty sleep soon, so good night!" I said while pushing Frenda towards Hamazura's car so that I can relax, and not have to worry about dying in the near future due to a bomb placed on my ass.
"Eh? What are you doing? Did you honestly forget what we both agreed on?" Frenda said with a disappointed look on her face. Was I forgetting something important?
"Uh, um, I don't remember agreeing on something with you? Is it really that important? Can't we just wait to do whatever it is tomorrow?" I said with a confused smile on my face.
"Are you kidding me? You seriously forgot! Wake up, Aisa! You promised to pay me for my services as a mercenary in advance for fighting that 'vampire' and saving your life! So where's my money!" Frenda said while shaking me back and forth with all of her strength which caused me to get very nauseous and I felt sick. I've always gotten dizzy after my body is shook around all over the place, which is probably why I've never been a fan of rollercoasters since whenever me, Nanoha, and Seiri went to an amusement park I usually tend to avoid most rides.
But wait, all of that's beside the point. Crap. I can't believe I forgot to pay Frenda for saving my life and more importantly Tsukuyomi's life too, and for agreeing to be my mercenary so that we can kill the remaining Vampire Kings. To be fair, Frenda did save me for mostly selfish reasons, like wanting some cash in return, but she still saved my life. I can't ignore that fact, plus while Frenda does act very childish and annoying, I really do think that she is a very good person who wants to do the right thing at heart. I don't want to admit it, but I'm very lucky to have met her.
"Aisa! Are you listening to me? I said that I want the money that was promised to me, right here, right now!" Frenda said with a pissed-off face in a very demanding voice. Well, I at least like Frenda for the most part.
"I'm sorry for forgetting Frenda. But, you are right. A deal is a deal, and I will give you all of the money that you need in order to pay for your services as a mercenary! You deserve it for saving me and Tsukuyomi, so thank you again for that, Frenda!" I said with a very cheerful smile on my face while I held Frenda's hand in my own hand to show my thanks for her help.
"Eh? What's with that look on your face? It's weird! I mean, Hahaha! Yes! I deserve the reward that I have rightfully earned for my services as a mercenary!" Frenda said with an awkward look on her face, as she tried to laugh off the situation and demand the money that she wants.
"Sure! Teacher! Pay Frenda for saving our lives and for agreeing to be my mercenary in the fight against the vampires that are after me! Please?" I said with puppy dog eyes while looking Tsukuyomi directly in the eyes.
"Aisa-chan! I already agreed to pay whoever you acquired as your mercenary so you don't have to give me that pleading look! Wait a minute! Did you just call me teacher outside of school again?" Tsukuyomi said while pouting. I can't help it, she's just so fun to mess with, I thought to myself while looking at Tsukuyomi with a smile on my face.
"Ok, so Frenda how much are you charging for your services as a mercenary and for saving Aisa-chan's life, as well as my own life? How much is that going to all cost together?" Tsukuyomi said with a smile on her face while she scratched the top of her own head.
"Well, for saving both of your lives, also for battling that 'vampire' and adding all of that together with my services as a mercenary. The total would equal around, 110,318,500.00, in Japanese Yen, I guess!" Frenda said with a huge smile on her face while making a thumbs up and a peace sign with her hands.
"Oh my god! I can't afford that! Even if I were to work for every second of every minute of every day of every year, I would still not even be close to paying off such an utterly massive fee!" Tsukuyomi said with tears dripping from her eyes as she started to panic and fidget around while moving all over the place like an anime character.
"Hey, Frenda! You are seriously making that little girl really worried! So stop joking around and tell her the 'real' price for your services as a mercenary!" Hamazura yelled while pointing one of his fingers towards Frenda.
"Hahaha! That was a really good joke! It was so hilarious that you made Tsukuyomi cry tears of joy! So what do you have to say for yourself?" I said with many veins popping out of my forehead while I cracked my knuckles.
"Uh, yeah, it was a very funny joke! I was just fooling around with you guys and didn't expect your teacher to find it so funny that she cried. So, um, oops!" Frenda said while sticking her tongue out at me as she put a fist onto her head, which was somehow still kind of cute, I guess.
"Frenda! You idiot!" I yelled as I rubbed my fist roughly on Frenda's head while pulling her hair for making Tsukuyomi cry.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! OW! That really hurts! I mean I know that I kind of deserved to have you give me a noogie for unintentionally making your teacher cry. But! Pulling my hair is really excessive! And it really hurt! Like a lot!" Frenda said as she rubbed her head in pain while complaining about my actions towards her, though I don't really care that it hurt her all that much. No one messes with Tsukuyomi and gets away with it, other than me of course!
"Idiot, making someone cry is one of the worst crimes a person can ever commit, and you made Tsukuyomi of all people cry. I mean to be fair, Tsukuyomi does cry more than the average woman her age, but, that does NOT make it ok to cause her to cry! Even if it's completely unintentional! Plus, she's short and cute so that makes it even worse!" I said with ferocity coming from my voice while I pointed my finger at Frenda and flicked her in the forehead for good measure. Tsukuyomi stopped crying and turned her body away from us out of embarrassment.
"Ow! Alright! Alright! I get it! I'm sorry! I'm sorry for making you cry sensei!" Frenda said while bowing down towards Tsukuyomi who then turned around and showed us an ultra, blushing, red face that resembled a tomato due to her own embarrassment that she felt.
"It's ok. It's in the past now, so let's just forget about it, and never speak of this again." Tsukuyomi said in a very reserved face while she looked down towards the ground.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" I said as I laughed so hard that I fell on the ground and proceeded to roll around a little bit as tears of joy were coming out of my eyes.
"Aisa! Why are you laughing so hard? It's not even funny at all! You are such a meanie!" Frenda and Tsukuyomi said in unison as they did an eyelid pull towards me in retaliation.
"I'm sorry! But, oh my god! That reaction you had Tsukuyomi, was the funniest thing I've seen in a while! Holy crap! I don't think I have ever laughed that hard in my entire life!" I said honestly while wiping my tears that were dripping from my eyelids off with my sleeve, as I held one hand to my stomach in an effort to stop laughing and to restrain myself.
Afterward, I apologized again to both Tsukuyomi and Frenda for the explosion of pure laughter that I had regarding their exchange of words and especially Tsukuyomi's reaction. Just thinking about that face, is making me still chuckle to myself that was way too funny! But then I decided to say my farewells to Frenda, for the day at least, so that we could meet up again tomorrow.
"Well, other than getting my ass handed to me by that vampire bastard, I had a lot of fun today! Thanks again, Frenda! I'll see you tomorrow so that we can start working together to defeat the vampires that are after me!" I said with a smile on my face, while extending my hand towards Frenda so that we could both shake each other's hands.
"Yes! I had a lot of fun today too! It was an absolute blast! I'm so happy that I met you-Wait a minute! Hold on! Aren't you forgetting another thing Aisa?" Frenda said while flailing her arms up in the air in order to get my attention, as she stared at me in the eyes with her own eyes.
"Huh? I had Tsukuyomi pay you the 'correct' cost for your services as a mercenary and for saving both of our lives. I don't think that I'm forgetting anything else?" I said with a bewildered face as I looked towards Frenda in confusion. What else could I really be forgetting?
"Dummy! You seriously don't know? It's literally the most important thing that a mercenary must do for her client in order to protect her! I'm going to be living with you from now on until the mission is completed!" Frenda said with a smug look on her face, while she pointed one of her fingers towards the sky as she struck a pose.
"Wait, WHAT?!" I and Hamazura said in unison as our jaws dropped to the ground out of absolute surprise.
"Frenda! You can't do that! Please, I beg of you! Mugino, I mean the boss, is going to be so pissed off that she is going to unleash her meltdown ability on the person who pissed her off! Which means that I'm going to suffer because of your choice!" Hamazura said as he bowed down towards Frenda while he begged her to go back to ITEM's place of operations with him.
"Grunt, you'll just have to deal with Mugino's wrath as you have always done ever since you applied for the job that you now have! But I have made my decision to stay with Aisa for a while! So tell Mugino that I will be taking an extended, fully paid vacation, for my contributions as an official member of ITEM! Though I believe in you that you will survive! So I'll see you again when the mission is a success! Sorry, but not sorry!" Frenda said with a grin on her face while towering over Hamazura as she shooed him away.
"Hey! Hold on! Frenda!" I said while trying to make Frenda stop so that I can have a say in this situation that is transpiring around me.
"Oh yeah! I just remembered! Aisa, you can take all of my luggage out of the grunt's car so that I can start setting up my stuff at your place! Also, I don't need my own room, so I'll just put all of my stuff, once you deliver it to me in your room! We can share our new room together, stay up late, watch anime together, and talk about hot guys! Oh my god! I'm so excited! Let's have a lot of fun together, Aisa!" Frenda said with a huge smile on her face while she was dancing all the way towards Tsukuyomi's apartment.
"Uh, I never said yes to you staying at Tsukuyomi's apartment, Frenda," I muttered to myself in such a low voice that Frenda or anyone else for that matter could have heard it.
After Frenda made her declaration of staying at my and Tsukuyomi's apartment for the foreseeable future, I then delivered her luggage to my room. The luggage was thankfully not too heavy, though carrying it all the way upstairs made for a girl who could have done it herself, made me feel like an Amazon delivery courier. I'm so going to get Frenda back for this!
"Here's all of your stuff, Frenda," I said in a very irritated voice with a scowl on my face while putting all of Frenda's luggage near her as she was currently in my room.
"Thank you so much, Aisa! Now I can start setting up my stuff in our new room! I can't wait for us to stay up all night together!" Frenda said with a smile on her face as she gave me a thumbs-up with her own hand for my efforts and the delivery of her luggage to her. Ugh. I want to yell at her for deciding to stay at Tsukuyomi's apartment without either of our approvals. But, for some reason, I can't stay mad at Frenda for too long. She acts like such a child, in a very annoying way, and also for some reason that I can't explain, it's pretty cute.
"You're welcome, Frenda. So what is all of the stuff in your luggage?" I said with curiosity while Frenda opened up her luggage to reveal its contents.
"Ta-da! Feast your eyes on all of my expensive, high-quality, cute clothes! I would let you borrow some of them, though unfortunately, they won't fit you, hahaha" Frenda said with a grin on her face as she revealed the contents of her luggage to me. There were all sorts of different outfits, a standard Japanese school uniform, regular t-shirts and leggings, animal pajamas, all normal outfits a girl her age would wear. Wait, hold on! Frenda has animal pajamas?!"
"Pfft, you have some really nice clothes, I'm so jealous of you, Frenda," I said sarcastically as I tried to contain my laughter while I noticed Frenda smiling towards me.
"I know right! I knew you were jealous of my clothes considering most of your clothes are bland and mine are superior in every possible way imaginable! Hahaha! Eh? Wait a minute! You are being sarcastic, aren't you? You are such a jerk, Aisa!" Frenda said with an angry aura coming from her since she realized my true intentions while tossing one of the pillows that were on my bed at me which landed directly in my face. It didn't hurt though it made me laugh.
Afterward, I and Frenda got the rest of her clothes out of her luggage as well as some other miscellaneous things like little girl toy dolls and stuffed animals which she had so many of. I didn't know that Frenda was a hoarder till now, but it's whatever, especially compared to those animal pajamas which made her look even more like a little kid. Then I helped Frenda set up all of her stuff in my room because I'm forced into sharing it with her against my will.
Fortunately, it didn't take too long to organize Frenda's stuff in my room, probably since I didn't have too much stuff of my own in there, to begin with, other than the necessities like a bed, a desk, a TV, and my ever-growing manga collection. After all of that, it was already 9 PM, so I and Frenda had a quick dinner that consisted of traditional Japanese ramen. However, Frenda complained about being given such simple food and told me that she much prefers udon in comparison so I guess I'll make some for her sometime in the future if I remember of course.
Finally, I and Frenda decided to go to bed early. I mean I convinced Frenda, because first of all I was really tired after such a long day that consisted of going to my best friend's funeral, battling a Vampire King who appeared out of nowhere and tried to kill me, and meeting a very annoying, slightly cute, blonde-haired girl, oh I mean Frenda. Second of all, I wanted to get up early in the morning so that we can both begin the search for the remaining Vampire Kings.
However, I realized that I made a terrible mistake, that I underestimated Frenda. This is because when I and Frenda both got in the bed together, since I had no choice but to share it with her; I learned that Frenda moves around a lot in bed. Frenda was constantly hogging the covers from me, which left me with very few sheets on me, so I was really cold. Then when Frenda fell asleep, she kept unconsciously hitting me while she was sleeping, while having a smirk on her face the entire time she was doing it, which made me think that it might have been intentional.
After what felt like so many hours, I was finally able to fall asleep. But then, as I was about to get some well-deserved sleep after an absurdly long day, I woke up on the floor. I then realized that Frenda must have unintentionally pushed me off the bed, as I got back up from the floor, I was ready to give some punishment to Frenda. I then saw Frenda completely covered in the sheets while only her head being visible that had some cat ears sticking out of it due to the animal pajamas she was wearing. Dam it; I can't get mad at her when she looks that cute.
I decided to check my phone so that I could see what time it is currently. I noticed that it is 1 AM in the morning right now. Ugh, it's the middle of the night, and I'm completely wide awake. Well whatever, I guess I'll go for past midnight run so that I can tire myself out and go back to sleep. I then left my room as quietly as possible in order not to wake up a sleeping Frenda, while walking into the hallway, and to my absolute horror, I noticed a certain short, pink-haired loli who was wearing a pink dress along with a light-pink jacket and drinking beer on the couch.
"H-Hey, Aisa-chan! Hic! I didn't know you were up this late! Hic! Come over here and drink some of this with me! Hic! It's really good! Hic!" Tsukuyomi yelled with a wide smile on her face while being utterly drunk and as she offered me some alcohol.
"Uh? Tsukuyomi, I'm only fifteen years old, so I'm underage and I can't drink that stuff. Also, why are you drinking in the middle of the night? Shouldn't you be sleeping right now?" I said while I pondered regarding Tsukuyomi's life choices that she has made so far.
"Eh? Oh yeah! That's right! Hahaha! Hic! How silly of me! Sorry about that Aisa-chan! Wait, what do you mean? Hic! This is the best time to drink such wonderful liquid refreshment! Plus, I'm an adult, so I can drink however much I want till whatever time I want! Hic! So don't get too jealous of me, Aisa-chan! Hic!" Tsukuyomi said while gulping down more beer. Jeez, at this rate Tsukuyomi is probably going to suffer due to alcohol poisoning. I have to remember to get her off that crap sometime in the near future.
After the brief exchange I had with Tsukuyomi, who was completely drunk and probably won't even remember it in the morning, I decided to leave the apartment so I can go on a run. I was so awake and I needed to tire myself out so that I can get some sleep before I search for the remaining Vampire Kings later today now, with Frenda. Once I got downstairs I decided to start running around the parking lot, not at my full speed, though at a normal jogging pace. It was cold out since it's currently autumn, so I wasn't sweating too much yet, but I was freezing nonetheless!
After making my way throughout the parking lot, while I was jogging, I assumed that I ran about a mile, so I decided that was good enough for the night. I was tired again, thankfully, so I was about to go upstairs and right into my bed until I noticed something in the corner of my eye. A girl who was sitting on top of a random car that clearly wasn't her car, who was wearing a completely white jacket along with the rest of her clothing being white. Ugh, that bastard.
"Yo! It's been a while since we have last seen each other, Aisa." Kira said with a smirk on her face, I couldn't see it due to the hood that was concealing her face but I knew it was there.
"Actually, I just saw you yesterday, so sadly it hasn't been that long. So what do you want from me now, Kira?" I said with a pissed-off expression on my face while crossing my arms to my chest.
"Wow! You are even feistier than you were earlier! That comment was so mean that it would have hurt my feelings if I actually gave a shit though. Hahaha!" Kira said with a grin on her face that I couldn't see while she proceeded to jump off the car that she was relaxing on.
"I'll ask you only one more time. So answer me, what the hell do you want with me, Kira?" I said with hatred coming off of my voice as I was glaring towards Kira with my own eyes.
"Aw, come on! Don't you want to be in suspense while wondering why I'm here right now of all times? No? Eh, whatever, fine, I'll tell you why I'm here right now. Guess what, I saw you fight the Vampire King Weezer, and I realized something. You suck at fighting! Hahaha!" Kira said with a smirk on her face that I couldn't see while laughing and as she walked towards me.
"Is that really all you wanted to say to me? You literally came all the way here to this apartment, just so you can tell me that I suck at fighting? I don't even know how you saw that fight that I had with that vampire bastard, but if that is it, then you can go piss off before I kick your ass!" I said while taking a fighting stance as I stuck out my fist in retaliation towards Kira.
"Calm down, idiot, you didn't let me finish. I saw the entire fight between you and the Vampire King Weezer so that I could learn your fighting capabilities, though while yes, one of the reasons that I came all the way here was to tell you that you don't know how to fight properly and that you suck at it. However, that is not the only reason why I came here; there is another reason why I'm here right now. I decided that I want to help you learn the truth of your powers!" Kira said while revealing her intentions for coming near Tsukuyomi's apartment to me.
"I see, so you want to help me learn something that I didn't know about my ability. Alright, so why should I believe you of all people that YOU want to help me? Also, why should I put my trust in you and believe that you can indeed help me learn more about my power?" I said with a scowl on my face while I pointed one of my fingers towards Kira as I demanded an answer from her. What the hell is that insane girl even saying? How would she even know anything about it?
"What are you even saying? How can you not trust me? I mean I admit that I don't like you very much, you are annoying, quick-tempered, and you are awful at fighting. But! I have never told you a single lie! Everything I have said is an example of one of my best traits, honesty, at its finest!" Kira said with a grin on her face that I couldn't see while her arms were extended wide.
"Now that I think about it, although I really don't want to admit, you are right. I'm sorry for my accusations. Ok, so while I don't know why you want to help me, I believe you. But that doesn't answer my other question; I'll repeat it, why should I believe that you can indeed help me learn more about my power?" I said with a neutral look on my face with my arms to the sides of my body.
"Hahaha! That's a good little girl! But think about your question just a little bit, the answer is fairly obvious, though I'll spell it out to you anyway. The truth is that I know a lot about your Esper ability, Deep Blood, which is because I have seen it used before. Not by you, but by one of your ancestors, I believe it was your grandfather unless I'm mistaken." Kira said with a smirk on her face that I couldn't see while she revealed something that I didn't know previously.
"Huh? What? What the hell are you even saying? That doesn't make any sense? I was the only one with this cursed power in my entire family! So that can't possibly be true?! I said with a dumbfounded look on my face as I was very confused by what Kira just spoke of.
"Hahaha! You really believed that you were the first of your entire family to have developed the Esper ability, Deep Blood? You ignorant fool! You are not the first with that ability, no not even close, the Esper ability, Deep Blood, has been passed down throughout your family for centuries!" Kira said with a grin on her face that I couldn't see while she pointed one of her fingers towards me. I don't believe it. No. I really didn't want to believe it but for some reason that was really hard for me to explain, it made sense to me, even if I couldn't fully understand it.
"I want to believe it is impossible, that you are lying, but I believe you. Tch. To continue with this 'explanation' of my power, I want to know more about it." I said as I clicked my tongue while demanding to learn more about my ability from Kira so that I can understand it.
"Hahaha! I'm glad that you believe in me so that I don't have to provide further proof that I know of your ability, which saves the both of us a ton of time. So, without further ado, I'll explain the true capabilities of your Esper ability, Deep Blood! Actually first, it's best that you show me how you use your ability in the first place." Kira said while snapping her fingers in an attempt to make me use Deep Blood right now.
"I don't know why you can't just go on with the 'explanation' but fine. I can do that." I said while lifting my hand towards my mouth as I bit into one of my fingers and tore a little bit of the skin off of it. My cut finger proceeded to drip some blood off of it.
"Red Katana!" I screamed while the drop of blood morphed and changed shape into a blood-red katana as I then proceeded to aim the tip of the katana near the white hooded girl.
"Oooooh! I haven't seen that katana up close in so many years that I almost forgot how it looked when aimed at my face! It's so sharp that it could easily slice off most people's heads clean off without much effort! But, you are doing it wrong, that's not how you use the Esper ability, Deep Blood correctly." Kira said with a disappointed look on her face that I could not see.
"Wait, what? What do you mean that I'm doing it wrong? Don't you see the awesome, blood-red katana that is right in front of you?" I said with confusion coming from my voice.
"You are joking, right? Clearly, I can see what is right in front of me, dumbass. What I'm trying to say is that you are summoning the weapon wrong. Though while yes, biting your hand to the point that it leaks blood can strengthen the weapon that you summon, it is not necessary to do so. It just damages you, and even though it's not much, your Esper ability, Deep Blood, depends on how much blood is in your body." Kira said while scolding me for my apparent mistake.
"I think I understand. So what you are trying to say is that me 'summoning' a blood-red weapon by biting my hand is just making me provide an excess of blood to the weapon. You are also trying to say that I should keep as much blood that I can in my body so that my power works properly and that I don't die. Is all of that correct?" I said while thinking if I got all of that right.
"Bingo! Well, I guess you are not as stupid as you look hahaha! But yeah, you are completely right. However, you have yet to realize the correct way to summon a blood-red weapon, the way that allows you to bypass the injury and obtain the desired result. So what do you think is the correct way to summon a blood-red weapon with the information that you have now learned?" Kira said with a smirk on her face that I couldn't see while pointing one of her fingers towards me as she was demanding an answer from me.
"I see! The correct way of summoning a blood-red weapon would be for me to think of one in my mind, for example, a blood-red katana, and then it will appear in my hand!" I said while slamming my left fist into my right hand as I discovered the answer I was looking for.
"Ooooh! So close! But that is not the exact right way to summon a blood-red weapon; it takes more than just picturing the weapon in your mind to achieve a result. Sadly, it's not so simple; the correct way to summon a blood-red weapon would be to visualize the specific weapon in your mind, yes. But, you have to know all the certain materials that are constructed together to make the specific weapon, then when you fully grasp the weapon in your mind, it will appear. Do you understand now?" Kira said while explaining the true way to summon a blood-red weapon to me as she presented me with another question.
"It's not easy to fully understand, but I think I got it, I have to know all the different components that make up a katana in my mind. I have to visualize all of those specific components in my mind and form into a complete picture like solving a puzzle, that's the true way to summon a blood-red weapon, isn't it?" I said while being slightly unsure of the answer that I have given.
"Yes! Realizing all of the components and putting it all together, is the correct way to summon a blood-red weapon! Now, that you have found the true answer that you were looking for, it's time for you to summon a blood-red weapon the correct way!" Kira said while demanding that I show her the result of the answer that I have now obtained.
"I guess that I have no choice but to show you for helping me realize the correct answer, fine, I'll do it! I'll summon a blood-red katana right now!" I said with determination coming from my voice as I extended my right arm forward. A Japanese katana is made up of many different components, Thirty-six to be exact, so I have to visualize each and every one of them in my mind. The three main parts of a katana are the blade which is a steel component of the katana that is used for cutting. The Tsuka is the handle of the sword, and the Saya is the scabbard of the sword that is used to protect the blade, the scabbard is usually constructed from wood. However, those components are just the first three parts that make up a Japanese katana.
The other remaining thirty-three parts consist of the Kissaki, the Boshi, the Yokote, the Hasaki, the mune, the Ji, the Mono-Uchi, the shinogi, the Shinogi-Ji, the Sori, the Nagasa, the Hi/Bo-Hi, the Hamon, The Habaki, the Munemachi, the Hamachi, the Tsuba, the Seppa, the Fuchi, the Menuki, the Nakago, the Mekugi, the Tsuka-Ito, the Tsukamaki, the Same-Kawa, the Same-Hada, the Kashira, the Makidome, the Sageo, the Kurikata, the Shitodome, the Koiguchi, and the Kogiri. Though, I think I can skim through most of those in my mind in order to save time.
I then went through each and every one of those components that make up a traditional Japanese katana at a rapid pace, because in battle I would only have a few seconds at most, to comprehend a weapon in my mind. All the three core materials and the other thirty-three supporting components, I have fully realized them in my mind, and now it's time to summon the weapon!
"Red Katana!" I screamed while the complete picture of the katana in my mind became fully realized as a blood-red katana was projected from my mind and into my hands as I then proceeded to aim the tip of the katana near the white hooded girl.
"Bravo! Now that's how you summon your blood-red weapon the correct way! Though, the processing stage for summoning a weapon in your mind was rather long. Fifteen whole seconds, that is pretty disappointing. I suggest you improve the rate at which you analyze a weapon in your mind unless you want to die to a Vampire King." Kira said with a grin on her face that I couldn't see, as she taunted me for the length of time it took me to summon the blood-red katana.
"Are you kidding me? You try going through your mind while comprehending thirty-six different parts of a weapon in the span of a few seconds! It's hard! I was honestly surprised that I summoned the blood-red katana that fast and then you just had to annoy me with that 'you are too slow' comment! Are you actually trying to teach me something useful that will help me against the remaining Vampire Kings or are you just trying to be a dick?!" I said with a pissed-off expression on my face while I raised my left hand and stuck up the middle finger towards Kira in retaliation for her really annoying comment.
"You are as feisty as ever aren't you? Though to be honest, I was trying to be a little bit of both, hahaha! However, I'm undeniably correct; you must learn to summon a weapon at a faster rate by doing repetition until you can summon a weapon in less than five seconds. When you can do that, you will be able to truly succeed your ancestors and kill the remaining Vampire Kings." Kira said while laughing at me and clapping both of her hands together.
"But, there is one more thing you must understand, while the possibilities are almost limitless with your Esper ability, Deep Blood, there are two rules that must be followed when using the ability. First, your Esper ability, Deep Blood, can only summon weapons that are meant for offense, this excludes defensive weapons like shields or armor that are meant for protecting yourself in a fight. Second, the amount of weapons that you can summon is limited within a single day, meaning if you spam weapons like crazy, your blood vessels will explode, and you will die." Kira said with a smirk on her face that I couldn't see while proceeding to jump on top of a nearby street light pole which showcased a pair of glasses and snow-white hair. I remember seeing the glasses last time I encountered her, but the white hair is new, though I still can't make out the face that is under the white hood even with the light coming from the street light pole.
"Wait a minute! Before you go, I have one question for you that you must answer no matter what! Kira, are you a vampire?" I said with a face that demanded an answer from the white hooded girl.
"Ooooh! You only just realized what should have been completely obvious from the moment you first met me back in the forest. Though, yes, I'm indeed a vampire as you have interrogated me as!" Kira said with a grin on her face that was slightly visible due to the light from the street light pole that she was still standing on.
"You aren't wrong in your assumption, I have thought you were a vampire for a while now, your insane feat of jumping on top of a tree back in the forest was superhuman. There is no way anyone could have done that feat without the use of an Esper ability, then you made it even more obvious that you were a vampire by admitting that you knew the truth of my power and of my family lineage. That was more than enough proof to prove my suspicion, however, that doesn't answer one question that has bothered me ever since I first laid eyes on you. How the hell are you able to remain in the sunlight without dying?" I said with animosity coming from my voice.
"Wow! That's a scary tone of voice you are using! The answer to the question that you desire to know is simpler than you may think. The truth is I'm a descendant of a long race of vampires that have been able to overcome the harshness of the sun due to trial and effort. Now you may think, but what of the Vampire Kings, how are they able to ignore the sun's effects? That answer is even simpler, they are not just 'Vampire Kings' for nothing, they are beings that have complete resistance to the sun and all of its hazardous effects that it would have on the majority of all vampires that exist in this world." Kira said while revealing the truth about vampires to me.
"I understand. The answer is quite simple like you said it was. You may leave now; I have no desire to indulge myself with you any longer than that is necessary." I said with a neutral voice as I shooed away the white hooded vampire girl who calls herself a killer.
"Ouch! That's really harsh! That is what I would say if I gave a shit about 'human feelings' though I do not. This may be the last time we both meet each other or perhaps we'll meet again, who knows? Well whatever, rejoice young girl! Your wish to kill all of your enemies will soon come true!" Kira said with a smirk on her face that was barely visible due to the light of the street light pole that she was still standing on as she vanished into the night and from my own eyes.
"Who the hell does that vampire bastard think she is anyway?" I muttered to myself in a voice so low that only I could hear it. That white hooded vampire girl is so annoying. I don't ever want to see that vampire bastard for the rest of my life even though she helped me learn more about my power. It's not like I want to kill, it's just that I'm forced into this role against my own will by the vampires that want me dead. I thought all of that to myself as I stared at the full moon in the night sky.
Somewhere in Academy City
A certain blue-haired vampire with wavy, light, blue hair that complemented his dark, blue jumpsuit that was now ripped and torn to shreds was walking throughout a long, dark corridor until he reached the room he was looking for. The room was utterly gigantic; it had a massive throne in the center, a throne that was made for kings. It was the Vampire Kings' throne room.
"My lord I have returned with unfortunate news, I failed to assassinate the girl with the Esper ability, Deep Blood, the girl named Himegami Aisa," Weezer said while bowing down to his king, a certain raven-haired vampire child who was sitting on the huge throne that was in the center of the room.
"You dare return here without Deep Blood's head, you disgrace of all Vampire Kings!" A silver-haired vampire said who was wearing an American military uniform with many medals all on it.
"Silence, Slipknot. Obviously, you have returned here with a reason, now what is that reason, Weezer?" The raven-haired vampire child said with a fist on his cheek.
"My lord, I request that you remove the 'limitation' that you have placed on me so that I can use my vampire abilities to their fullest extent!" Weezer said while pleading to his lord on the throne.
"Fine. I will grant your request on one condition. For failing on your mission to obliterate the girl with the Esper ability, Deep Blood, Himegami Aisa, and demanding that I unleash your full potential in spite of that, you will receive the consequences for your actions. The toll that you must pay with your own life is 1000 deaths, then and only then will you be able to use your true powers, in the name of the Vampire King Linkin Park!" Linkin Park said with a devilish grin.
"No! I beg of you! Please anything but that! I'm sorry for failing you, my lord! AHHHHHHHH!" Weezer said while tears poured from his eyes as he proceeded to suffer the 1000 deaths toll that was demanded by the Vampire King Linkin Park by the ability of his own lord that is unrivaled.
Hello everyone! Ren here! So for this chapter, I wanted to plant the seeds for growing friendship between Aisa and Frenda because that's going to be one of the most important relationships going forward in this story as well as explain more about Aisa's powers and how they work and foreshadowing for good measure. But yeah, this chapter's title is a reference to the Weezer song of the same name since Frenda's involvement is changing Aisa's daily life by them living together and also the Vampire King Weezer of course. I might be dropping the next chapter later today though I don't know for sure because I might be too busy to write another chapter for next week so if not, it will be out by next Sunday for sure! Hope everyone is enjoying the new chapter and this story overall! Ren out!
