"Why can't I go by Swan?" Bella asked her mother as they walked through Diagon Alley.

"You have to go by your birth family name sweetheart."

"I don't want to be affiliated with the Potters. They're not my real family to me." She sighed.

"I know. This is the only thing though. I promise, I'm even using my family's galleons to pay for your school instead of the Potter's. You would have just as much right to it as Harry but I knew you wouldn't like that. The school however uses magical records that can't be lied to. The moment we write your name on there it would be changed to Potter anyways."

"Thanks mom. So what do we have left to get for school?"

"The only things left are your wand and a pet if you want."

"Yes please, I have a feeling I'm not going to get along with many people." She sighed

"That's alright sweetheart.. Friends should always be about quality not quantity. Besides at least you will have Draco, Severus promised to introduce you."

Bella smiled at her mother. Ever since she had started learning magic with her mom she had also learned how wise she was. Renee gave the best advice and Severus was always blunt and never held anything back. She was grateful for the two of them and could see how they became such good friends when they were younger.

They came to stop in front of a Ollivander's Wands.

"Go inside and get your wand, I'm going to pick you up a pet. It'll be a surprise!" Renee clapped her hands together making Bella giggle. "Don't take too long though we still need to go by Hogwarts to enroll you."

Bella kissed her mother on the cheek than ran inside the store, the bell above the door making a beautiful sound that echoed through the small shop.

An older man came gliding up to the counter on a ladder from the back of the shop. His smile was warm and friendly washing away Bella's nerves.

He jumped down and walked up to the counter.

"Hello young lady. Come for a wand?"

"Yes please sir." Bella said shyly walking up to the counter.

"Well let's see what we can find." The man turned running his fingers across several boxes before stopping on one. He opened and held it in front of Bella. "Just give it a flick. Don't worry if something bad happens, picking out a wand is often a few mistakes first."

Bella nodded than reached for the wand, she did a slow and soft flick and watched in horror as a vase full of roses burst into flames. She quickly gave him back the wand apologizing profusely.

"No worries dear." Garrick said waving his own wand and putting out the flames. He placed the wand back and went deeper into his collection bringing back a different wand and handing it to her. "Try this one."

Again Bella waved the wand but this time all the bulbs in the store exploded.

"Shit!" Bella jumped than clamped her hand over her mouth as Garrick laughed loudly.

"It's fine my dear truly. That was a damn shame after all." He winked causing Bella to giggle and relax. She was glad he was a kind man.

Again he put the box back, this time he disappeared so far back into his shop that Bella couldn't see him anymore. It was several minutes before he returned to the front with another box. He opened to reveal a beautiful deep gray wand that had tree branches carved into the handle with little flowers scattered about.

"10-inch Acacia wood with a core of dragon heart string and phoenix feather. A very rare wand." He said gently lifting it out of the box and facing the handle towards her.

Bella was mesmerized by this wand; it was like it called to her. She lifted it and once again waved it. This time light shined from her hand as a breeze gently caressed her face and she watched in awe as all the lights in Garrick's shop repaired themselves.

"Seems we have a winner my dear."

"Thank you sir. How much do I owe you?"

"Nothing. Wands don't cost money in my shop; it is simply my dream to make sure every wand finds its rightful owner." Garrick reached behind his counter grabbing a wand holder. It was made like a brace that wrapped around your wrist so you could hide your wand up your sleeve. He grabbed the wand and placed it inside than gave it back to Bella. "This way you can keep it close and won't lose. On the house my dear."

"Thank you sir, that's so kind of you."

"My pleasure, come back any time. I repair wands and sell many magical accessories as well."

"I will." Bella shook his hand and left the store. Her mother was already outside waiting for her holding an adorable cat. "Oh it's so cute!" Bella cooed picking the animal up from her mother's arms and petting it gently.

"I'm glad you like it sweetheart. Now hurry our appointment with the headmaster is in ten minutes!" Renee rushed Bella to one of the public floo networks so they could transport to Hogwarts.

She had been learning magic from her mother and Snape for a little while now but this was her first time in the wizarding world. At least that she could remember and everything was new and exciting to her.

When they disappeared in a burst of green flames just to reappear instantly in the headmaster's office, Bella thought it might just be the coolest fucking thing ever. "Awesome!"

Laughing drew her attention to the two other people in the center of the room. She looked up to see a very old looking man with a long white beard and a woman wearing a pointy hat.

Bella followed behind her mother as they approached the strangers.

The man shook both of their hands before addressing Bella.

"Hello my dear I'm the Headmaster here at Hogwarts. My name is Albus Dumbledore and this is the Deputy Headmistress Mcgonagall. She is also the professor of Transfiguration."

Bella instantly didn't trust the older man, something about his smile seemed off or forced but the woman's smile seemed genuine. So she nodded to the headmaster than greeted the professor. "Pleasure to meet you ma'am."

"You as well dear. I hear you want to enroll for the new semester that start's Monday is that correct?"

"Yes please."

"It's a little last minute but your mother has assured us she would have all of your supplies ready in time."

Renee spoke up, "We bought everything today, I even have it with me."

"Excellent! Most excellent!" Dumbledore exclaimed. "Well than my dear, we just need your name and we will see you on Monday."

Bella tried not to show her sadness as she told them, "Isabella Lillian Potter."

"I'm sorry dear did you say Potter?" Mcgonagall asked in surprise.

"Yes she's Harry's twin sister." Renee told them.

"Harry does not have a sister." Dumbledore furrowed his brows in confusion

Renee handed them Bella's birth certificate quickly quieting their questions. "So she can start on Monday?"

"Yes… Yes of course. We are excited to have you." Mcgonagall still shocked but smiled softly to Bella causing her to smile shyly back.

Dumbledore was frozen in place just staring blankly at the birth certificate in his hand.

Bella and Renee took the floo to the Leaky Cauldron and rented a room for the weekend.

When they were finally alone Bella started laughing. "I think we almost gave the headmaster a heart attack."

Renee chuckled, "Yes I do believe so but….. I didn't like the look in his face when I showed him your certificate."

"There was something about him mom. I don't trust him. He didn't feel right to me."

"Then don't. Always trust your instincts sweetheart. Now that you have your magic it will never lead you wrong."

Bella placed her cat on the bed than gave her mother a hug. "I promise mom. So what now?" She smiled

Renee smiled back, "Now we spend the weekend together. I'll take you to school Monday than return to Phil but if you ever need anything and I mean anything sweetheart just send your owl. Nothing will stop me from getting to you. Plus Severus set up a floo in his fireplace to my home so we can get to each other easily should anything happen. You can always trust him sweetheart. Go to him should you need anything or feel unsafe okay?"

Bella nodded than followed her mom to have dinner before her new life started on Monday.
