A Certain Scientific Vampire Killer
Chapter 16: Night of Nights
My eyes opened to the sight of a dark sky that I remembering seeing quite frequently, before I would go to sleep every night, I would see the night sky that was all too distant from me. When I was back on that island while resting on that huge lone tree on the hill, I would see that exact sight every single time every night, making it the last thing that I would see before I fell to sleep. I wanted to be there, I always thought to myself before reaching my inevitable slumber every night. I hated how my life was always a repeat of the same exact things every day, so it was only natural that I wanted to escape said boring life by going to a place that was beyond this world. I wished to be closer to those stars in the night sky for such a long time, though it was a fruitless endeavor because I'm only a human and humans belong on this world and nowhere else. Even still, I wished that one day I would be able to be with those stars in the distant night sky.
"W-Where am I?" I said to myself while looking around with my own eyes in order to figure out what my surroundings were other than that night sky that was overhead of my body. It was no use, all I was able to see was the pitch-black sky with my eyes, and none of the surroundings that were around me.
I then tried to move my body. My body didn't budge. No, that's wrong, my body couldn't move at all. My entire body felt like it was intoxicated with drugs, and even moving my eyes was a pain in the ass in my current situation. All I could do was use my brain, remember what last happened to me while I was awake, and then think of a solution that will allow me to escape this predicament.
I proceeded to think back on what happened to me in the last twenty-four hours, in order to figure out what kind of situation I'm in currently. I remember arriving in the foreign land of Japan that I have never even been to until earlier today that is if the date or times didn't change to the next day. After that, I decided to take a break and enjoy myself on the beach that was on the outskirts of Japan and wasn't too far from my destination. Then, after two or three hours at most, I managed to get very close to my destination. I walked around a small, but the ordinary village that reminded me of the urban town that was nearby the house that I lived in back on that island.
But what happened after all of that? I thought to myself in order to learn the reason why I'm on the ground and furthermore, why I can't seem to move my own body at all or even in the slightest of movements. What was it? What was it? What was it? What am I forgetting?
"Eureka!" I internally screamed inside my body after finally recalling what happened after I went to that small and ordinary village. After that, I discovered a vast and expansive green forest that was decorated with many huge and massive trees as well as many different kinds of animals and insects that I have never seen or even heard of before I reached that forest. It was very fulfilling to learn and experience new things in my opinion, and even though it was a wonderful feeling for me, it wasn't all too important. No, what was essential in figuring out what happened to me was what happened after that.
I then heard the incessant and irritating wailing of a young girl that made it seem that she was much younger when compared to yours truly. However, that wasn't the case, not only was this girl an entire year older than me, she would also cause my entire life to change for me once again. It was a chance encounter, something that wouldn't happen in most scenarios, but in this certain world that I live in, I met a young girl named Aisa.
When I first met Aisa, I honestly didn't expect there was anything suspicious or strange regarding her. Sure, Aisa had her own quirks, she certainly didn't act like a girl who was technically a teenager and she would always say whatever was on her mind without thinking if it sounded embarrassing or not. But, that stuff didn't matter to me in the grand scheme of things it was her kindness that made me want to be around her so much. In my entire life, I never had the chance to meet someone who was such a benevolent person, and who treated me as well as others with an overflowing amount of kindness.
The only person who came anywhere close to Aisa, was that fake hero of justice, Shiki Himgami, but his kindness was all just a lie that he told me so that he could kill my father. However, the irrefutable difference between Shiki and Aisa was that Shiki's kindness was a facade that he used in order to trick people and kill other people while he is at it, it was the exact opposite of Aisa's kindness. In contrast, Aisa's kindness wasn't a façade or a lie in the slightest, Aisa was a genuinely good-natured person who showed others kindness while not caring all that much if she receives even a fraction of that kindness back towards her from another person.
Aisa was a kind and honest person, so I could tell that without a doubt that she wasn't lying when she said that all she ever wanted was a friend to spend time with and do meaningless things with. I liked Aisa, I liked her quite a lot, maybe even more than anyone else I have ever met up to this very point of my life even though it was only for a short amount of time, at least so far. I wanted to spend more time with her. I genuinely wanted to spend more time with Aisa, and be the friend that she always wanted throughout her life, and so that I would never feel alone ever again. So, it completely shattered my heart when I learned the truth about Aisa's last name.
"Himegami. Why? Why did she have to have that last name?" I said in a very quiet voice that only I could hear while I tried to move my body, even if it was just a little bit. I then managed to move my fingers ever so slightly as I felt some of my physical strength come rushing back into my body. But, I couldn't stop thinking of why, just why did one of the very few people that I actually gave a shit about, had to be one of the very few people of the billions of humans that exist on this planet that I had to kill? I wanted to obtain my revenge for my father, I really did, but I couldn't kill Aisa. No, that's wrong too, I could have killed Aisa in a surprise attack if I wanted to do that, but I refused to do such a thing. I swore to never ever hurt my only friend.
But then, since things seem to never go the way that I want them to go, I still ended up hurting Aisa. I didn't intend to ever hurt Aisa in any way ever since I made that promise to her, but someone else was not going to allow that to happen, even if that someone had to betray me in order to obtain his desires. The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand, who I thought was one of the only few people that I could trust, ended up betraying me and used my body to kill Aisa. But, that didn't happen, in the end, the person who died was none other than Aisa's very own mother who sacrificed her very own life so that her precious daughter would not die and would be able to live for a very long time.
I didn't want that. I never wanted a tragedy like that to ever happen to another person. No one should ever have to go through seeing their very own parent die in front of their eyes, let alone in such a cruel way. Even still, I played a role in having her very own mother die right in front of her eyes, and that made Aisa go berserk. I couldn't blame her. The first thing I did when I saw my father's dead corpse was to kill the murderer that ended his life. So, I understood why Aisa tried to kill me, all she was trying to do was exact revenge against the person that took her own mother away from her.
However, I was the person she was trying to kill, and being the target of Aisa's savagery broke whatever remained of my heart. I couldn't believe that such a kind and sweet girl had such a vicious side to her. No, that's wrong I refused to believe that girl was Aisa because that wasn't the girl who I met earlier. Aisa and whoever was posing as she were two fundamentally different people that couldn't be the same person. Was that 'Aisa' a split personality or perhaps was she in the same situation as me? I don't know the answer to that question, since it is something that only Aisa would know the truth of, because I'm not Aisa. I'm just Nanoha Nakamura and the kind and gentle girl I met in the vast and expansive forest are Aisa Himegami.
"That is correct. Aisa Himegami is the final descendant of the despicable Himegami family that is the truth of this world. And since you are Nanoha Nakamura, you must kill the surviving remnants of the Himegami family, no matter what." A voice said while using my very own mouth, this voice was none other than the other person that has control of my body. This voice that was using my own feminine voice to speak was none other than the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand.
"What do you want? What could you possibly desire after you used my body to kill Aisa's mother? Haven't you caused me enough suffering?!" I said while taking back my own vocal cords from the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand in order to say what I wanted to say to that liar who betrayed me and made me commit a horrible crime against my only friend.
"What do you mean by 'what do I want?' I told you what I wanted already I want to annihilate the entire Himegami family because they exist in order to prevent me from living my own life. So, my desire has always been the same thing since I first met you, and ever since I was born into this world. You also have another thing wrong, little girl, I did not cause you to develop feelings for the girl named Himegami Aisa. I also never made you meet Himegami Aisa, you were in full control of your body at that moment in time that was your choice to talk to and get close to her. And I'm not making you feel the overwhelming amount of guilt or the desire to die that you are feeling for Himegami Aisa, the only person that is making you feel such useless and trivial emotions is you, Nakamura Nanoha." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said as he dispelled any notion of this current situation being his fault whatsoever.
"You're right. Everything that you just said was completely the truth and nothing but the truth. But, there is one thing that you are wrong about, just one single thing. And that is that you have no right to have control over my body whatsoever, you bastard!" I screamed while taking back my vocal cords from the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand in order to make him hear one of the many reasons why I'm so extremely pissed off right now in a crystal clear fashion.
"That is correct. I have no right whatsoever to use your body as I see fit just like you said, little girl. However, unlike you, I will do ANYTHING to achieve my wish! I don't care how many lives must suffer because of my wish, because nothing, NOTHING AT ALL, will prevent me from achieving my wish, let alone the feelings of a pathetic girl like you." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said as he stole my own vocal cords again so that he could refute my statements.
"You may not have been in control of your body at the time, but it was because of your body that I was able to ensure the girl named Himegami Aisa will die. You can have control of your eyes again, as well as your body, so you will not avoid the truth of this situation any longer! Now, look! Look at the absolute carnage and devastation that we caused together, little girl!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand yelled while stealing my vocal cords again and in a tone of voice that showed excitement and that was utterly unlike any of the times that he spoke before while talking to me inside my head or using my own throat to speak whatsoever.
"It's about time! I was hoping that you would say those exact words! Now, I can finally put an end to whatever mayhem you caused! Now, I can finally save Aisa and she won't ever have to suffer anymore! Aisa! Where are you-what?! What the hell?!" I said with a voice that was full of confidence and determination that shattered instantly and turned into a voice that was brimming with absolute dread and anxiety over the horrific sight in front of my own eyes.
"What the hell happened here?! What did you do? What did you do? What did you do? What the hell did you do to all of these innocent people you insane bastard?!" I said while my entire body shook in pure fear as I couldn't process the scene that was in front of me. No, that was a lie. I could clearly see with my own two eyes, that much was clear. However, the sight in front of me was something that a little girl my age, no, nobody that is human should have to see what I'm looking at ever in their entire lives! Not even for a fraction of a second! The sight was so horrific in fact, that it would be utterly cruel to make someone see such a scene even if that person in question was a murderer who killed many people and had a good time while committing the crime.
"I don't understand? What's there to be afraid of, little girl? This wouldn't be the first time that you have seen humans just like you used to be, massacred and completely dead with your own eyes. Hell, you saw your own father's dead corpse, you even killed Himegami Shiki, and both sights didn't make you feel anything that resembled sadness in the slightest. You didn't even bat an eye when both of those people that you revered and were once close to were dead. But, why of a sudden are you on the verge of throwing up and bawling your eyes out over people that you barely said a single word if any at all too? I'm genuinely confused?" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said while choosing to speak within my mind again for some unknown reason, as he pondered on the question that he just spoke to me about in confusion.
"You dumbass. You are a fucking dumbass! How the hell can someone, ANYONE, not feel any emotion at all over THIS scene?! You would have to be a complete monster to accept this HELL as something that just happens! Do you even care about humans in the slightest? Answer me! Answer me, right now you bastard!" I said while tears filled up in my eyes as they were on the verge of overflowing and as I couldn't fathom the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand's thought process at all. The scene that was in front of me right now was true horror that shouldn't be described to anyone! No one deserves to know what I'm looking at with my own eyes right now! All I can say is what was in front of me were corpses. Many corpses, so many in fact, that it must have been a few hundred of them, perhaps close to a thousand of them. And they were all utterly mutilated and disfigured to the point that it would make the scariest horror movie look like a happy-go-lucky comedy in comparison. The scene was that horrific.
"What do you mean? I don't understand in the slightest why you would ask such a useless question, little girl? Of course, I don't care about humans. I'm a vampire after all. There is no reason for me to give a single shit about the human race since I was never a human, to begin with. I'm a vampire that rules over all other vampires with an iron fist. That is the true identity of the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said without a hint of emotion whatsoever in his voice as he was still choosing to speak to me within my own head for some inexplicable reason.
"That's right. How can I be so stupid? You were never a human, to begin with just like you said. But you are wrong! Calling yourself a vampire is an insult to all the other vampires in this world! You aren't a human or a vampire, you are a DEMON!" I said with my eyes bulging out of my eye sockets as I couldn't contain the absolute fear inside of my body any longer as I then regurgitated whatever small amount of food that was inside my stomach onto the grassy ground that was stained with the red blood of the hundreds of dead corpses all around me.
"Yes! That's completely right, little girl! I'm a demon! That's a perfect way, to sum up, someone that is far worse than any other vampire or human for that matter who has ever walked on this planet! Ha! Oh! I just remembered! I haven't told you what my wish is, haven't I, little girl? After I use your body to kill the remaining descendant of the Himegami family, Himegami Aisa, I will finally be able to obtain my revenge against that fucking bastard who stole my powers away from me! Linkin Park, my most trusted comrade when I ruled this world as the king of kings, ended up betraying me out of pure greed and jealously over my unstoppable powers! With your body, Nakamura Nanoha, I will be able to kill that imposter who doesn't deserve to be called the Vampire Emperor!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said in a voice that was at first full of excitement and anticipation over the chance of having to erase the family of assassins that have thwarted him for centuries. But then, the Vampire Emperor's voice turned into a voice that was brimming with absolute hatred over the vampire that betrayed him.
"And then, after that faker and whatever loyal subjects he has acquired are all completely dead without a chance of returning, I will finally be able to obtain my true wish! Finally, I will be able to obtain the wish that I have sought to make a reality for over a thousand years! My true wish is to utterly annihilate this entire world and all of the living creatures that inhabit it." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said as he finally revealed his endgame as well as the wish that he has been keeping secret from me all this time. Franz Ferdinand's wish is to destroy the world.
"Huh? What? What did you say? Did you say that your wish was to 'annihilate this entire world and all of the living creatures that inhabit it,' you said that right? You are insane. You are an insane madman to ever think of something that was so utterly horrible! But you are even worse than other people who have thought the same thing! Your goal is to fully realize that thought and make it a reality! You are completely insane, you bastard!" I said while collapsing onto the grassy ground that was utterly drenched with the red blood of the many dead corpses that were around me as I was about to give up on everything.
What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do? What the hell can I do against this insane bastard that is bent on destroying the entire world?! Is there anyone, anyone at all, who can stop this mass murderer that makes all other killers look like complete jokes in comparison? Who can even stand a chance against a demon who doesn't have any empathy for anyone whether you are a human or a vampire in the slightest? I thought all of those questions to myself as I kept shaking my body in pure terror over that monster inside me.
"That's wrong. You were completely right about everything that you said concerning me until you called me 'a completely insane bastard.' I'm not insane. I'm not even remotely insane in the slightest. Haven't you seen the humans that infect this world? For example, that man you killed, Himegami Shiki, he was a man who idiotically called his actions a hero of justice. But, don't you agree that was far from the truth, little girl? Himegami Shiki was a murderer who killed other humans because he believed it was the right thing to do, that's complete nonsense. Himegami Shiki is not the only human who thinks this way this entire world is infested with people who believe that they are heroes when they themselves are committing sinful acts of murder. The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said without a hint of emotion in his voice.
"The same thing can be said for vampires, except they are perhaps even worse than humans because of their superiority complex and their absolute greed, such as Linkin Park. Do you see what I'm getting at now, little girl? It doesn't matter whether you are a human or a vampire every living creature on this planet is a sinner, no matter what you are. Because this world is rotten to the core. My goal in contrast is a noble one. I seek to rid this world of the filth that has contaminated it for millennia. If I can obtain my wish, then there will be no more murder, no more greed, no more sinful act will ever be committed. Everything will return to zero just like how everything should have been from the beginning. Now, I will ask my question one more time, how can you call me 'a completely insane bastard' after hearing my true intentions?" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said as he still couldn't understand why he was completely insane.
"You don't understand? You really don't understand how insane you are, you madman? Fine, then I will make everything crystal clear so that even a completely insane bastard like you can understand it. You said that you want to save this world by obliterating everything that inhabits it? That makes you an even worse sinner than all the humans and vampires you were referring to! No sane individual would consider destroying the world as something that is necessary because of the humans and vampires that inhabit it! You are completely insane for even considering a fucked up notion like that to be right, to begin with, let alone trying to achieve such a horrible reality, you insane bastard!" I screamed at the top of my lungs so that even the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand couldn't avoid hearing everything I just said.
"Tsk. I thought that if anyone would understand my goal, it would be someone who has seen the true disgustingness of humanity, like you little girl. But, I guess I was wrong because you are just as ignorant as the rest of humanity. Oh well, I'll just kill the last person who stands a chance at opposing me, your only friend, that girl named Himegami Aisa." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said while taking back control over my own body so that he could finish off the family full of assassins that have thwarted him for centuries.
"I refuse. There is no way I'm going to let you murder the only person that really cared about me, you insane bastard." I said while I took control of my own body back from the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand and I then pointed a sharp knife towards my throat.
"What?! What is the meaning of this, little girl?! You still seek to defy my wish after everything I told you about how rotten this world and all the creatures that inhabit it are?! Have you completely lost your mind, Nakamura Nanoha?" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said inside my head as he struggled to use my vocal cords or any other part of my body as I refused him and his horrible wish.
"No. I'm completely sane right now, if anyone is insane, it's you, you insane bastard. I guess a demon that is completely insane can't even fathom how atrocious of a wish that destroying the world and all of the people who inhabit it is." I said with a voice that has regained confidence and determination as I pierced my throat with the sharp tip of the knife as my red blood dripped from my throat and onto the grassy ground as it became one with the rest of the blood that utterly drenched the grass turning it from its natural color of green to the color of blood red.
"No! Wait! Stop! You can't do that, little girl! If you kill yourself, then I will-" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said but before he could finish I cut him off with what I said next.
"I understand. I understand everything now. I finally understand the reason that you were able to take over my body in the first place. You have an ability that allows you to possess a certain person that meets certain requirements over the course of many years. If I were to guess, I'd say it takes you a hundred years to possess a person and then possess another person. And you have probably gained such an ability because you are the true Vampire Emperor. Your ability is possession, isn't it?" I said while maintaining my confident voice that was brimming with determination as I deduced the reason why the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand can take control over my own body away from me and as I continued to pierce my throat with the knife.
"So what if you are right, little girl?! What are you trying to achieve by killing yourself?! That act of trying to kill yourself is sheer stupidity, Nakamura Nanoha!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said inside my head while not being able to control my vocal cords or any other part of my body as I was still in control over my own body.
"You are wrong! Every time in my life I let someone tell me what to do and I did it with no complaints. And look where that got me, I'm surrounded by many dead corpses in a literal bloodbath right now. Tch, I'd be better off in hell than here. However, I will NOT let anyone tell me what to do ever again! This is the first time in my entire life that I'm doing the right thing!" I said while maintaining my determined attitude that was brimming with resolve as I stabbed myself with the sharp knife even deeper into my own throat that was now gushing with my red blood as it fell and mixed onto the blood that decorated the grassy ground.
"No! No! No! NO! You can't do that, Nakamura Nanoha! If you do that, I will be forced to wait another century until I can achieve my wish! I don't know if my soul that has lived for over a thousand years can last for that much longer! So, I can allow you to kill yourself until my wish can be fully realized! What do you want? I will do anything! I will do absolutely ANYTHING that you say if you don't kill yourself! So what the hell do you want, Nakamura Nanoha?!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand screamed inside my head with a voice that was different from his monotone voice or his excited voice. The voice that the Vampire Emperor was using now was a voice that was full of worry and lacked any confidence whatsoever.
"Fine, I will accept your offer, you completely insane bastard. Instead, of your utterly cruel and horrific wish, the destruction of this entire planet and everyone who inhabits it is being granted. My wish will be granted. My wish is the preservation of the girl that you want to annihilate, the same girl that is also my only friend, Himegami Aisa! If you will NOT harm Himegami Aisa in any way from this point forward, then I will allow you to live! But, if you dare to even consider breaking your promise, then I will kill myself on the spot with no regrets at all! Will you accept my offer or die alongside me, which is it, you insane bastard!" I said with a voice that was brimming with absolute resolve as I finally knew what I had to do to ensure Aisa's safety from this point forward and until the end of time itself from this demon!
"Tch, I guess that I have no choice at all, don't I? You win. I accept all of your conditions! I PROMISE not to harm the girl named Himegami Aisa in any way from this point forward for the rest of my life! Now, that I have promised you that, even if I try to break that promise, I will be erased on the spot if I do so! So, you wouldn't even need to try to kill me anymore, are you satisfied now, Nakamura Nanoha?!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said inside my head as I felt something inside my own body activate as soon as he promised me that he would never try to hurt Aisa ever again. I could tell at that moment that he was telling the truth and nothing but the truth.
"I wouldn't go as far to say that I'm satisfied with the outcome, but, if it means that Aisa gets to live a happy life that is full of trivial things and happiness, then I have no reason to be upset. I mean, it's not that I want to die either, I guess I'm just relieved that I don't have to kill myself and I can continue living. However, now there is something that I must do." I said while I stood straight up and started moving forward again. I remembered something that I should have done once I awakened on this grassy field of blood and corpses. I have to do something for my friend.
Now, I was walking away from the horrific scene that I once found myself in, under the night sky that was almost pitch black, as I was looking for my only friend. It would have been completely impossible to find her if it wasn't for the light that was being reflected from the moon which gave my eyes some visibility in order to differentiate my surroundings. There wasn't that much light by any means, but it was enough. There was enough light for me to find her on this dark and cold night. My only complaint is that the weather was abnormally freezing. However, the chilly weather, nor the lack of light wasn't going to stop me from doing something to help my friend who is in a pinch.
The first thing I remember from my past was the stench of blood. It was a revolting smell; it always made me puke when it reached my nostrils. Then I remember opening my eyes, they were stained blood-red making it difficult to see what was in front of me. Though I didn't even need eyes to distinguish the agonizing sight that was in front of me. I was surrounded by dead corpses. The corpses were not humans, but vampires, demons that were from fairy tales told by parents to scare their children into learning morals unless they want to face the consequences. However, these vampires were not make-believe creatures, they were real, and they were all around my body. There were so many of them I couldn't even count how many there were, it seemed like hundreds, perhaps thousands. I killed them. Not just a few of them, I killed all of the vampires that were around me, though for some reason I couldn't remember committing those murders. However, I know I killed them, not just because I was carrying a katana drenched in blood, but because I am a murderer. Ever since I was alive, I had an ability that attracts vampires to me, and when they eventually found me, they were never pleased. They always had the same look on their face, eyes bugling out of their sockets, bloody tears running down their faces, and teeth-gritting so hard against each other they were breaking. It was a face that personified the words, murderous rage, and I had no choice but to take their lives in response. That fact doesn't make me any less of a murderer though, I still killed them, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun. I don't remember how I killed all the vampires that were surrounding me, though I had a wicked grin on my face, and my lips were smeared with blood. It was irrefutable proof that I must have had a lot of fun killing those vampires, which means I'm a worse person than all of the vampires combined. I'm a monster. After taking in the sight that was around me, I proceeded to walk away from the dead corpses that were surrounding me, since a murderer does not stay at the scene of a crime hoping to be arrested. I walked past the clearing I was in, towards the forest, all while making a trail of blood coming off my bare feet and katana. After what felt like hours I reached my house that was near the top of the mountain that my home was located on. I apparently lived near a village that was overrun with vampires that were hunting me as I was the sole survivor because I'm a murderer. Before I went into my house to cleanse the blood that I was covered in off of my body, I took a look at the moon. The moon was blood-red, a sight that was only visible once every few years, and a sight that instantly caught my eyes. It was absolutely magnificent.
And then, I found the girl that I was looking for, she was collapsed near her house and covered in blood that was not her own. The girl would have been unrecognizable if she was just another person that I had crossed paths with, but I knew instantly who this girl was because she gave me hope. The collapsed girl was covered in the blood of many vampires that the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand unleashed on the small village, they were dead now, fortunately, she was alive. I was glad because I had to do something for this girl because her name is Aisa Himegami, my only friend.
"Hey Aisa, I need to get something off of my chest even though you can't hear me right now. You won't be able to remember this conversation for a while hopefully you'll never have to remember this night ever again. I know if I do this, you'll forget that you ever met me, but that's ok. You don't need to remember me. I'm not someone that you should remember or involve yourself with. I guess that I wanted to let you know that the time I spent with you in that forest just talking with each other was the most happiness I ever felt in my entire life. I never meant to hurt you, but I still unintentionally caused you pain. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry about everything. However, it's all over now. Everything is over now, so you can be happy again. And I promise you that I will never let anyone hurt you ever again." I said while I used a certain ability on Aisa, that I gained after I became a vampire, that ability's name is Mind Erasure.
I proceeded to erase the memory of the girl named Aisa Himegami so that she won't remember what happened on this night. However, my ability, Mind Erasure, doesn't allow me to pick and choose which events Aisa will be able to remember. Aisa will forget almost everything that happened during her childhood other than just a few instances of her past. Everything from when Aisa was first born and until this very moment, thirteen years of her life, will become a blur to her that she won't be able to recall clearly. I'm sure it will cause problems for Aisa in the future, but she won't have to remember the atrocities that took place on this night. Aisa won't remember the girl that she met in the forest, her mother's death, or anything else. Aisa will be able to be happy with no regrets. I thought all of that to myself as I finished using Mind Erasure on Aisa and carried her away from her childhood home as the night that started this whole story came to a close.

And now back to the present day
"Huh? Why? Why are you here Nanoha?" I said with a completely shocked expression on my face and bewilderment in my voice, as the white hooded girl with brunette hair revealed herself to be none other than Nanoha Nakamura, my best friend who was supposed to be dead, is now suddenly here in this massive castle, alive, and is also a vampire no less.
"Hey, Aisa, who is this person wearing the white hood? You never told me about this girl, so I'm confused, can you please explain to me what is going on? And then there is the fact that you thought this girl's name was Kira, but apparently, her name is Nanoha? Isn't Nanoha the name of your friend who died? What the hell is going on?! Hey Aisa! Answer me!" Frenda said with a bewildered expression on her face while staring towards me and demanding that I answer her questions. However, I have no idea either of what is unfolding before me right now.
"NO! I don't understand! This can't be happening right now! What did you do? What the hell did you do, you Vampire Emperor bastard?!" Nanoha said with an expression that showcased mixed emotions it was extremely pissed off and also brimming with sadness at the same time. It was quite the contradiction. I still don't understand how or why Nanoha is here in front of me right now or anything that she is saying. Vampire Emperor? Doesn't she mean Linkin Park?
"Tsk, calm down, little girl. If you are trying to ask if I had tried to harm the girl in any way, I would already be dead, don't you remember? I cannot harm the girl named Himegami Aisa ever since I made that promise to you on that night. Even if I wanted to cause that girl misery and pain for whatever reason, it would be useless, because it would mean my death, so relax, little girl." A voice said from Nanoha's mouth, it was feminine and almost sounded exactly like Nanoha would, but whoever 'that' was, it certainly wasn't Nanoha.
"Can someone please explain to me what the hell is going on right now?! Who are you?! Are you Aisa's friend Nanoha? Or are you someone else named Kira? If Aisa is just hallucinating right now and you are actually not her friend, then I will kill you. I can already tell that you aren't human, no you are a vampire!" Frenda yelled while taking a defensive stance as she shielded me from the girl who was certainly my friend Nanoha, but for some inexplicable reason, she was wearing the white jacket that Kira wears and is also a vampire no less.
"Well, I have no idea who you are, but I'll answer your question because you seem to be a friend of Aisa's. First of all, my name is Nanoha Nakamura, the same Nanoha who Aisa thought died about two weeks ago. Second of all, who the hell is Kira? I have never heard someone use that name in my entire life, but I can assure you that I'm not her. Finally, you are correct, I'm indeed a vampire. I've been a vampire for roughly over two years at this point, what about it?" Nanoha said while answering all of Frenda's questions honestly and to the point. Even still, I couldn't understand a word that Nanoha was saying right now.
"Two years? Nanoha, you have been a vampire for two years? Are you joking? This is some joke, right? Hahaha! Yeah, it was pretty funny, but can you please stop joking now?" I said with a horrified expression on my face as I was way past my breaking point and I was rejecting this entire situation that is happening right in front of my eyes.
"I understand. Tsk, no wonder this girl looks like she is about to have a mental breakdown. You never told Himegami Aisa anything, did you, little girl?" A voice said it was the same voice that was coming from Nanoha's mouth earlier, but even though it sounded just like Nanoha, it wasn't her, that I knew for certain.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Did you seriously just try lying to me?! You just said you were 'Nanoha' did you not? If that's the case, then who the hell just said all of that?! Answer me right now, or I swear that I will kill you before you even have a chance to try and run away!" Frenda yelled again as she was more pissed off than I have ever seen her be before, but just like me, she was so enraged over the fact that she doesn't know what is going on.
"Oh! That reminds me, I haven't introduced myself yet, haven't I? My name is Kira, well actually that was a lie. I was using a fake name when I got to know Himegami Aisa a little bit earlier. Oh, and before you try to say anything, little girl, I was actually helping Aisa out and made sure that she didn't die against Linkin Park or his underlings. Aisa didn't understand in the slightest how her ability, Deep Blood, actually worked, and since I knew how it worked after encountering numerous members of the Himegami family throughout my life, I taught her how to use it correctly. Anyway, allow me to introduce myself. My name is the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand. And I'm the true Vampire Emperor." The same voice from Nanoha's mouth said as he revealed himself to be none other than the true Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand.
"Huh? What? What the hell is going on? I don't understand! I don't understand! I don't understand! I don't understand anything that is happening right now! What the hell do you mean, Kira, that you are the Vampire Emperor?! The Vampire Emperor Linkin Park is dead! You or Nanoha just sucked out all of his blood so there is no way he is still alive! So what the hell do you mean that you are the Vampire Emperor when that vampire bastard is already dead?! And then there is you Nanoha. What the hell are you doing here! I wished that you didn't die and would be alive again and I cried my eyes out every night after knowing that it was impossible that I would never be able to see you again! But now, you are here, and you are saying you have been a vampire all this time, even before we became friends?! I can't understand any of them at all! What the fuck is going on right now?!" I said while collapsing to my knees as I held my head with my hands and as my head felt like it was about burst over everything that is happening right in front of me.
"Aisa, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry that you ended up seeing me again, you would have been better off if you never knew that I was still alive. But, I had to do this. When you told me you were going to abandon that cross necklace, I knew it would attract Linkin Park and the other Vampire Kings towards you. Deep Blood, is an ability that attracts vampires to you, and they are always trying to kill you because of it. I knew about your ability the entire time before I first met you, so I knew if your ability was turned back on, it would send calamities towards you. I refused to allow you, Aisa, to suffer and die a cruel and horrible death. So, I had to fake my death in order to hunt down the remaining vampires that wanted you dead, I also burned down a certain high school for good measure. Nanoha said as she tried to be as emotionless as possible but still ended up having many tears in her eyes.
I couldn't let my best friend suffer anymore, so I had to erase myself from your life. I tried to hunt down Linkin Park, Korn, Weezer, and Slipknot, but to no avail, because you managed to find their hideout before I did. But, Aisa, I want you to know that I did all of this for you. I never wanted to see you get hurt ever again and I made it my mission to keep you safe so that you could always be that kindhearted girl I love so much. So, you don't have to fight anymore, just go home. I'm going to end everything right here and right now." Nanoha said with many tears dripping from her eyes as she then proceeded to suck the remaining blood that was contained in the fake Vampire Emperor Linkin Park with her sharp vampire teeth.
"NAKAMURA NANOHA, YOU BITCH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The fake Vampire Emperor Linkin Park screamed in agony while he was somehow still barely clinging to life as he then proceeded to fall to the hard stone ground and became an empty husk. The Vampire Emperor Linkin Park was completely drained of his blood and he was dead.
At that moment, everything changed forever again, as the girl named Nanoha Nakamura was now reverberating after consuming the blood of the fake Vampire Emperor Linkin Park. Nanoha's body was shaking and changing as the blood of Linkin Park coursed throughout her body as she was now screaming in agony. What happened next was that Nanoha's brunette hair turned snow white and now resembled Kira's hair color as she gained the power of the Vampire Emperor and all of his gifts too.
"AHH! What? Ugh! What is happening to me? Answer me, you Vampire Emperor bastard! What the hell is happening to my body?!" Nanoha said while shrieking in tons of pain as she had no idea what exactly was now happening to her in the slightest.
"Ha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHA! Finally! Finally, after all this time I have regained my authority as the one and only true Vampire Emperor! And now whatever amount of control you had over your body, it all belongs to me now! Your body is now mine, Nakamura Nanoha!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand yelled with a sadistic smile on Nanoha's face as the body of the girl named Nanoha Nakamura now completely belonged to him.
"Aisa! You have to listen to me before it's too late! You have to forget about me! You must live a very long life that is full of happiness! So you cannot die to this bastard! Aisa, I have always cherished you! I've always loved you A-" Nanoha tried to say but she was cut off before she could finish as her vocal cords and the rest of her body were no longer in her control as the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand now has complete control over her body. But then, at the very last second, Nanoha Nakamura, with the very last willpower she had left threw a red bandana that she had kept in her pocket all this time towards Aisa Himegami for some reason.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Didn't you hear me before, little girl? Your body now belongs to me! You used to have more control over it than I did, I was only able to control your body at certain periods of time, but now you don't have any control whatsoever over your body anymore! Finally, after hundreds and hundreds of years, the reign of the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand can continue once again! It's time! Awaken my Spice Girls!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand yelled while maintaining that sadistic smile on the face that was once Nanoha's face as he then proceeded to leap with lightning speed towards the walls of this room that was at the top of the castle that contained carvings of three girls that I didn't notice until now.
And then, the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand touched the stone carvings of the three girls as they all then morphed out of the walls and became one with reality once again. These three girls all looked completely identical to each other, other than the fact that each of their hairs colors were the same. However, everything else was the exact same, their faces that resembled porcelain dolls, their clothes that golden armor, and all of their other features aside from their hair colors. One of the girls had blonde hair, another had black hair, and the final one had pink hair, but they all looked like they were modeled after a certain person that I didn't know about.
"What are your orders, my master?" The three girls spoke in unison with each other as they asked the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand for orders and they all resembled robots in the way they spoke to their master.
"Let's see, hmmmmm, oh, I know! Mel, do you see that girl with the long, straight, black hair? The thing is I can't harm that girl in any way whatsoever because of the promise that I made two years ago. Even though this body belongs to me, I can't break the promise while using this body. If I tried to even do something as simple as a finger flick against that girl, I will die on the spot. So, since I can't kill her, I want you to kill her instead, that is your order." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said as he commanded the girl with the pink hair to kill me with no remorse.
"Understood, my master," Mel said as she sprinted with earth-shattering speed, and then she appeared right in front of me in less than a single second as her pink hair stood up into the air while her eyes had a fire in them. Her eyes signaled an intent to kill me and I couldn't move a single muscle as my body was still completely immobile because of what happened earlier. I still couldn't fathom that my best friend, Nanoha, was a vampire all this time. All I could do was clutch that red bandana that Nanoha threw towards me for some inexplicable reason that I could not explain.
"DAM IT! AISA RUN!" Frenda yelled at the top of her lungs as she rushed towards me and proceeded to push me out of the way. What happened next was what truly broke my mind. In the next instant, a human hand flew into the air. It wasn't my hand, and couldn't have been the hand of the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand or one of the hands of the three girls that were his loyal servants. No, I knew that hand very well. The hand that flew into the air, and sprayed blood everywhere was the left hand of my friend Frenda Seivelun.
"AHHHHH! UGH! I never imagined that having your hand cut off would hurt that badly! It hurts like hell! But! I can still move!" Frenda yelled while crying and shrieking in absolute pain as she then used her remaining right hand to grab a bomb that was in the disguise of a cute bunny rabbit that she then chucked towards the closest wall near the both of us as it then exploded and shattered the stone wall into many pieces.
As the stone wall shattered into many pieces, sunlight came rushing in the room, as the three girls that looked identical to each other aside from their hair color leaped towards the other end of the room to avoid the sunlight. However, Nanoha, I mean, the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand stood in place as the sunlight touched Nanoha's skin. I knew Nanoha for a long time we went to school together and played outside before, so her body must have been immune to the sunlight.
"This is it! This is our chance! This is our only chance to survive and live another day! Let's go Aisa!" Frenda yelled while she proceeded to grab one of my hands with her remaining hand as she then let another bomb go from her hand, this one was smaller, but it launched the both of us out of the opening that Frenda created as we both fell out of the room that was on the top of the massive castle.
"Shall we pursue the both of them, my master?" The three girls all spoke in unison with each other again while bowing towards their master, the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand.
"No. It is not necessary to pursue them any longer. First of all, my Spice Girls, you would all die if your bodies touched the sunlight, and that would be a blow towards my reign. Second of all, the girl named Himegami Aisa's mind is shattered, she won't be able to fight again. Even if Aisa does try to fight again, I already used my first gift, the God's Mind on her. Aisa's mind is now stuck in a loop as she relives the worst moments of her life again and again until the end of time itself. Finally, since now that I have my authority as the true Vampire Emperor again, I can use all three of my gifts to take back the world that was once in the palm of my hands." The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said as he stood straight up in his new body that once belonged to the girl named Nakamura Nanoha.
"Finally! Finally, now that I have all three of my ultimate gifts back in my possession, this world is mine! My third and final Ultimate Gift, Ultimate Gift: God's World!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand roared at the top of his lungs as the bright sunny blue sky outside of the massive castle changed and morphed into a sky that was pitch black as the sky no longer had any sunlight to speak of whatsoever. This is the beginning of the end, the final act of this story the Night of Nights finally begins.
Hey Everyone! Ren Here! For this chapter, I wanted to conclude the backstory that was from the perspective of Nanoha as well as the events that happened on that night. I also wanted to finally get back to where we last left off with Aisa and Frenda and both of their reactions to the twist concerning Nanoha. But now, everything has changed once again for the absolute worst as Franz Ferdinand, the true Vampire Emperor has stolen Nanoha's body and Aisa is now at her absolute lowest point emotionally. Things are really starting to ramp up now as there are only a couple more chapters of this story left and the final act is about to start!
