p dir="ltr"br /"Why is your mother so dead set on us getting pretty for the King?" Jon Snow asked Robb with an annoyed tone to his voice that Robb had grown used to from his half brother. Jon was nothing but moody even on a good day. Most days Robb understood where his brother was coming from, but on high stress days like these it got under his skin./p
p dir="ltr""It's for the queen I bet. I hear she's a sleek bit of mink." Theon Greyjoy stood shirtless and brimming with arrogance as always. "Or maybe it's for Robb's tight little princess."/p
p dir="ltr"Robb ignored his father's ward knowing full well that if you gave Theon a reaction it made it that much worse. Jon he could tell was fuming by the way he looked at the ironborn and he didn't have the patience for another one of their fights today. Not with Princess Lyan arriving soon. Robb had not seen her in over a year now and he could feel the nauseous nerves settling in the pit of his stomach. They were both 15 the last she stayed in their keep. They were still children. This would be the first time he'd see her as a woman grown./p
p dir="ltr""I heard the prince is a right royal prick." Robb spoke trying to distract Jon from his anger towards Theon. The distraction worked making Robb smile as he watched his brother laugh. The servant a bald man named Tommy wiped down Robb's newly clean shaven face as Theon once again made a joke about how many girls Prince Joffrey must've caught with his royal prick. He stood suddenly, once again ignoring Theon's vulgar comments. "Go on Tommy shear him good." Robb smiled as he shoved his brother forward. "He's never met a girl he likes better than his own hair." He joked as the man servant started trimming Jon's long black hair. This they both knew was untrue as Jon gave him a half hearted smile./p
p dir="ltr"Lyan was promised to Robb, but he knew very well how Jon felt about her. Robb was never mad at Jon for the way he felt about Princess Lyan, because he understood it. Lyan had always been beautiful from the moment they met as children, but she was more than that. She was an equal in both mind and soul to anyone who earned her kindness. Jon had been one of those people fortunate enough to have earned Lyan's time and kindness, Robb did not blame him for falling for her just as he had./p
p dir="ltr""I'm going to go dress, make him extra pretty for us." Robb winked at Tommy the big bald man currently cutting Jon's curls before disappearing out of the room. Theon followed close behind him as he always did./p
p dir="ltr""I don't see how your okay with that. You can see it in his face every time someone mentions Princess Lyan." Theon spoke once they were away from Jon and moving through the castle halls towards Robb's room. "He wants to fuck her you know that right?"/p
p dir="ltr"Robbs blood boiled with those last words. He knew Jon loved the Princess, but to disgrace both of them with words like that sent him over the edge./p
p dir="ltr""HE LOVES HER. As we all do." Robb turned to him with a challenging look on his face daring Theon to say another word. "You will not talk of the Princess or my brother in that way. Jon is my family and the Princess soon to be."/p
p dir="ltr""Your brother would be considered a threat in the Iron Isles." Theon bit back. "You deal with threats."/p
p dir="ltr""We do things differently here in the North or did you forget that's where you are?" Robb squinted his eyes at Theon. "Jon is my brother and he'd never dishonor me or our house. He knows he cannot have the Princess. He won't try anything."/p
p dir="ltr"Theon scoffed and moved past Robb in order to travel to his own room. "Yeah but he's not part of your house is he?" He said with a hateful smirk before disappearing out of Robb's vision./p
p dir="ltr"Theon Greyjoy did as he always did, he left Robb in a fit of annoyance and anger. Robb vanished into his own room where a fire was waiting for him along side the clothes his mother had laid out. A leather clad chest piece matched with a black fur cloak is what Catelyn Stark had prepared for her son. He smiled seeing the Dire Wolf sigil on his cloak that matched his father's. As Robb slid the garments on he caught a glimpse of Greywind sleeping in the corner, the wolf pups had grown two sizes already. Robb wondered how long it would be before his dire wolf stood taller than he did. A knock interupted his thoughts./p
p dir="ltr""Come in." Robb beckoned before Catelyn Stark's head poked around the door./p
p dir="ltr""You look so handsome." Catelyn's face lit up with pride upon seeing her son. "My dear sweet boy." She moved across the room to lay a hand on his soft clean shaven cheek. "You're a man now. By the gods how did that happen?" She laughed with happy tears in her eyes before kissing his cheek./p
p dir="ltr""You're kind mother." Robb smiled shyly as she pulled away from him. Catelyn gave her son a questioning look seeing the nervousness behind his eyes./p
p dir="ltr""Something is troubling you." She spoke seriously with her piercing blue eyes and a brow raised. He hesitated for a moment before admitting defeat at the hands of Theon. What he said had haunted him with doubt and insecurity./p
p dir="ltr""I know I am to marry the Princess, but..." Robb avoided his mother's gaze. "What if she does not love me? What if she prefers someone else?"/p
p dir="ltr""This is about your father's son?" Catelyn spat in annoyance./p
p dir="ltr""Jon is my brother and that's not what I meant." Robb replied instantly regretting his moment of self conscious behavior./p
p dir="ltr""That boy is not the future heir of Winferfell. He has no name to give and no future." Catelyn said through gritted teeth. "And I will not have my son question himself due to his father's mistakes. Curly black hair and a pretty face does not earn you a Princess."/p
p dir="ltr""Neither does being father's heir." Robb argued back. "I don't want someone to marry me, because of the sigil on my chest. I want them to marry me because of who I am..." Robb smiled weakly at that. "And it wouldn't hurt if it was for my curly hair and pretty face."/p
p dir="ltr"Catelyn laughed at her son's words before bringing him in for a hug, kissing the side of his auburn curls. "Any smart Princess or girl would be lucky to have you. You are the greatest boy to ever live." With that Robb's face froze and just like that the insecure thoughts were back./p
p dir="ltr""What's the matter now?" Catelyn asked seeing his eyes again as she pulled away./p
p dir="ltr""It's nothing." Robb spoke quietly while looking at his feet. The annoyed sigh from his mother caused him to look up at her once again./p
p dir="ltr""I will tell you like I told your brother Bran..." She smiled. "You both look at your feet before you lie."/p
p dir="ltr"It was Robb's turn to sigh as moved towards the door. He knew if he said the next part it could mean trouble for Jon that was not warranted, but he could not hide from his mother./p
p dir="ltr""That's what Princess Lyan has always called Jon Snow." Robb spoke sadly as he reached for the door handle. "She calls him the greatest boy who has ever lived." And with one sad look back at his mother he left through the door./p

p dir="ltr"br /Jon could hear the bells as he slid on his second brown leather glove. Nervous jitters fluttered around in the depths of his being. He knew the arrival of the King meant nothing, but trouble for him. Every time Lyanna visited over the past nine years it came with trouble no matter how happy he was to see her. Now with the King and her whole royal family riding along side her it would only be that much worse. As if on cue with Jon's thoughts a knock came at his door. Maester Luwin entered before Jon could invite him in./p
p dir="ltr""The King and his party has arrived. I've been instructed by Lady Catelyn that you are to stand behind Lord Stark and his children." The Maester spoke looking sadly sympathetic with the boy. "She has also instructed that you are to have your dinner here in your room while the King is in our attendance."/p
p dir="ltr"Jon did not complain or speak out only nodded allowing the Maester to leave. He had not expected much else from Lady Catelyn. He knew the way his father's wife felt about him. Jon was the bastard of Winterfell nothing more than something in the way. He did his best to remain invisible in order to not cause trouble, but that was exactly the problem when Lyanna came home to the Starks. Lyanna Baratheon didn't allow Jon to be invisible she narrowed in on him and showed him a kindness that was plain for everyone to see. He didn't know what he had done to earn such affection from a Princess, but he wished he hadn't sometimes. That's why he had decided he would take the black. He couldn't be in his older brother's way any longer and with that thought nagging him he left his cold stone room./p
p dir="ltr"With a frown on his face and the cold air touching his fresh clean shaven jaw, a feeling unfamiliar to him, Jon moved through the corridors of Winterfell until he was standing outside where he could see his half brothers lined up ready to greet the royal family. Robb shot him a quick smile as he approached, but as Jon traveled to stand behind him Robb began to frown before shooting a quick glare at his mother. He always disapproved when she didn't allow Jon to stand with his brothers. Jon appreciated the fact that Robb stood up for him and considered him an equal, but it always caused more trouble than it was worth./p
p dir="ltr"Theon Greyjoy moved to stand next to Jon with a sly smirk on his face as he joined him. "In our rightful place huh? Bastard." Theon sneered in a whisper to make sure Robb hadn't heard him, but Jon only shot him an angry snarl before looking straight again. Suddenly Jon's tiny little sister Arya came running up with a large helm upon her brunette head. He struggled to hide his smile as Eddard Stark pulled the helm from her head and ushered her quickly over to little Bran and an ever growing Sansa. His sister was already at the age of 13 remarkably beautiful and almost as tall as he was with her ginger hair that fell down her shoulders./p
p dir="ltr"He could tell his younger sister had spent hours on her dress and hair in eagerness to meet the Prince who was only a year or so older than her. Sansa Stark hadn't shut up about it since the news of Jon Arryn's death and that the King would be riding for Winterfell with his entire royal court. Jon smiled as he watched Arya's disgusted face upon looking Sansa up and down. Arya was wild, her dress was mud worn at the bottom and the helm had disheveled her hair in a way Arya was known for. The rest of the Starks were clean and proper. Rickon's cheeks were red and his light brown curls brushed neatly against his head. A frown rested on his face as he stood next to his mother stiff like a board. Jon knew the little boy of 6 was bored and most likely upset that he wasn't next to Robb for whom he adored. Bran looked just as bored and equally unhappy that Arya had shoved him to the side. His straight dark brown hair was brushed to the sides of his head in a bowl like shape that hung around the sides of his soft freckled and disgruntled face. If Jon thought anything in this world was adorable it was the fury of his younger siblings./p
p dir="ltr"The gates opened slowly but the Lannister men and Kingsguard moved in fast with red and gold armor adorned with Stags and Lions. Lord Eddard Stark stood firm and serious as the men came into sight with his Lady Catelyn Stark at his side. It was the most properly adorned that Jon had ever seen their father. The Dire Wolf sigil was planted neatly on his father's chest and he wore it proudly like Robb did beside him. His older brother was in a near matching cloak to their father's with both of them in dark furs. Jon's cloak had not been marked with the wolf sigil and was a lighter less expensive fur. That kind of thing didn't usually bother Jon, but today he noticed it now more than ever./p
p dir="ltr"All thoughts of his father, his half siblings, and the Lady Stark who despised him left Jon Snow's mind as the person he had been so anxious about entered the courtyard. She was the Princess of the Seven Kingdoms and more beautiful than he could've ever possibly remembered. She was different from the last time the bastard had seen her, but he couldn't quite place what it was exactly./p
p dir="ltr"Lyanna some how seemed more. Her black hair had grown into long loose curls that hung neatly down her back until they glided along her bottom, another part of her grown that Jon tried to ignore to no avail, and came to a rest on her horses golden saddle. The horse saddle matched her golden satin gown that like Arya's was muddy and torn at the bottom. It made Jon smile knowing at least that she hadn't changed along with her body. The gown although muddy and torn still looked remarkable on Lyanna. It was different from the gowns she had always worn here in Winterfell. The golden dress came to a crisscross at her now full breast presenting them proudly causing Jon's pants to become more uncomfortable than they already wore. He gulped when his eyes noticed the green embers of Lyanna's. They were like how Old Nan described the mad King's wild fire, ferociously beautiful. He ducked his head before she could notice him, seeing her caused a reaction in him he had not expected. A reaction that he told himself he would not and could not allow yet here it was. Jon heard Robb's ruptured heavy breathing and knew he was feeling the same as his half brother. Lyanna would be the death of them both./p
p dir="ltr""How long do you think it'll take your brother to put a wolf cub in that lion?" Theon hissed in Jon's ear causing him to finally look up in anger. As he looked up his heart stopped seeing the way Lyanna was staring at Robb and he was staring back. For once Jon Snow was truly invisible./p
