A Certain Scientific Vampire Killer
Chapter 20: Holding Out for a Hero
My eyes were both blinking slowly as I didn't know what just happened to me so I tried to look at my surroundings to no avail because I couldn't make out any of my surroundings since I was still in a haze over what just happened to me. I thought back on what I last experienced in an effort to recall my memories and figure out what kind of a situation I am in right now. Conveniently, all of my memories came rushing forward at a rapid speed along with my vision which was becoming more and more clearer again by the passing of every second. And then, when all of my memories returned and my vision was crystal clear, I knew that I made a fatal mistake.
Roughly a little less than ten minutes ago, I regained my consciousness after being killed by that green-haired vampire, and I was able to meet back up with the Vampire King Slipknot just a single minute later. After comparing what we remembered from the last time loop that resulted in both of our deaths, we both came to the conclusion that the weakness to the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand's time loop ability was that as they continued, people affected by the time loops would be able to recall more and more of what happened with each loop. This means that us and the rest of the humans trying to fight back against Franz Ferdinand's vampire army can predict and strategize what they will do and defend against their attacks to boot.
I then thought of a plan that involved me, the Vampire King Slipknot, and Hamazura, along with Aisa of course, to use a different travel route in order to avoid coming to a confrontation with that green-haired vampire guy, who seemed to be far more deadly than the average vampire. Slipknot agreed with my plan, and after calling Hamazura again to come and pick us up, we were all able to escape the ruins of that massive castle in a time span of fewer than five minutes, due to Hamazura being able to immediately drive to the ruins once he regained his consciousness. However, there was something that I did not predict happening in the slightest, which was that the green-haired vampire predicted what we were going to do and intercepted us again.
I didn't even consider the possibility of our enemies remembering what happened between 'loops' and strategizing against us, that was my fatal mistake. The cost of my fatal mistake was having Hamazura's car being utterly wrecked, which lost our only vehicle of transportation of getting back to Academy City in time, though there was a good thing that came out of it. Luckily, we all managed to jump out of the car just in the nick of time and survived the car's explosion which would have resulted in a very painful death for all of us.
Me, who is Frenda Seivelun, the Vampire King Slipknot, Shiage Hamazura, and Aisa Himegami all managed to survive the green-haired vampire's first attack through the skin of our teeth, albeit just barely. Even then, while I was extremely lucky that I survived the car's explosion, since we didn't have any other way of getting back to Academy City in time, it was still a loss in my opinion. I was completely convinced that I and everyone else were all going to die again, but I was fine with that as long as there was still the possibility of a do-over.
Now, I'm currently on the ground with only a few cuts on my body, thankfully they seemed to be minor and manageable. I could see what was in front of me again very clearly, the car that we were using was destroyed and on fire, and my teammates were all scattered around due to the explosion. I refused to just lay down and accept my own death so with the courage that I possessed I then proceeded to put my one remaining right hand to the ground in an effort to lift myself up from the ground. But then, as I was lifting myself up from the ground, I realized that I have made a second mistake.
I noticed that the green-haired vampire, who I still did not know his true name or motives in the slightest was casually walking towards the Vampire King Slipknot with a sadistic smile on his face. At first, I assumed that the green-haired vampire was going after Slipknot in order to kill the biggest threat to his life, but I was severely mistaken. That green-haired vampire didn't even remotely consider the Vampire King a threat at all, no, that's wrong. All of us were just pests that the green-haired vampire didn't even consider remotely dangerous, except for one person.
There was one exception in our group that seemed to interest the green-haired vampire to the point that his facial features changed when he noticed the person in question. That person was undoubtedly, my best friend, Aisa Himegami, who is still unconscious and did not have the power to defend herself in her current state. Aisa was the green-haired vampire's target, she was quite possibly the only one of us that he wanted to kill, and not even considering that he would be after Aisa even though she can't fight at all right now was my second mistake.
"Tsk. Don't even try coming any closer to this girl or I will take your life." The Vampire King Slipknot said while standing in front of the defenseless Aisa as he then proceeded to fling a piece of metal that was in his hands towards the green-haired vampire with an insane amount of speed. It was so fast, that in fact, the piece of metal managed to pierce the green-haired vampire's forehead before he could even react to the attack that Slipknot launched at him.
"Haha! You're pretty good! I couldn't have even tell that you had a small piece of metal in your hands, so I would have died if your aim wasn't so shitty! I had no clue that you were that fast though I guess I shouldn't have expected any less from a Vampire King!" The green-haired vampire said with a sadistic smile on his face while his absurdly long tongue went to wipe the blood coming from the wound on his forehead and in a single second, it was almost completely healed and unnoticeable.
"Tsk. That was my warning shot, the next one won't miss, so just give up already unless you want to die." The Vampire King Slipknot said with an emotionless expression on his face while still shielding Aisa from the green-haired vampire that was approaching them both at a casual pace of walking.
"Oh ho! Haha! It seems like someone is very confident about their own abilities! However, you are very overconfident to think that you stand a chance at defeating me in a fight, commoner! Don't you remember how you died, you do remember, don't you? Well, even if you don't let me jog your own memory, hahaha! Now DIE." The green-haired vampire said with a sadistic smile on his face while he threw out both of his arms in the air and awaited the Vampire King Slipknot's demise. However, the only thing that followed was silence and the passing of about two or three seconds.
"W-What?! I told you to DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. Why the hell aren't you dying, you rotten piece of shit-AHHH!" The green-haired vampire said with an enraged expression on his face that then turned into one of pain as he was pierced with another piece of metal that was flown at a high speed straight towards his forehead. It was a direct hit!
"Hmph. The battle was already decided the moment when you said that I didn't have a chance at defeating you. Did you forget that I'm the Vampire King Slipknot? Since I'm a Vampire King, I have the trait that I cannot be killed in the same way twice. It would be useless if I were utterly annihilated to the point of no return, but in this 'time loop' I cannot die in the same way twice! Vampire King is not just a title, it's what separates us from shit like you, and it's the reason why I survived your attack-what?!" The Vampire King Slipknot said while maintaining his signature emotionless expression on his face that was then turned into one of shock after seeing that his shot missed its mark. No, that's wrong, it was a direct hit, no doubt about it. But that guy, he-
"REVERT MYSELF BACK TO NORMAL. Haah! Haah! Haah! YOU BASTARD! If your attack was just a single millisecond quicker, I would have died for sure! To think that I would have been pushed to using that part of my ability, you have earned my respect! Now, side with that satisfaction, Vampire King! BE TORN TO PIECES." The green-haired vampire said with a look of admiration on his face over finding someone worthy of fighting him towards Slipknot. And in the next instant, without even a single second passing by, the Vampire King Slipknot was torn to pieces just like how the green-haired vampire told him to do.
My second mistake, which was perhaps even more fatal than my first mistake, the consequences were now happening before my eyes as the Vampire King Slipknot was torn to pieces. And now, Aisa is completely defenseless, due to my own carelessness and lack of thought for my own best friend. Shit! What the hell can I do right now?! I thought to myself as I struggled to come up with a plan to protect Aisa that wouldn't get me killed in the process. Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey, wait a minute! What the hell am I even doing right now trying to think of a plan to save my friend when she is in danger right before my eyes?! Screw it! Time to wing it!
"Don't you dare come any closer to my best friend, you bastard!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as I proceeded to dash at full speed towards the green-haired vampire who was walking towards Aisa at a casual pace of walking while not directing his gaze to me. Come on Frenda! Are you stupid like how Slipknot said you were?! Maybe a little bit in certain areas. But, I'm not one to just let my best friend suffer while coming up with a plan that may or may not even actually work against this guy! This green-haired snob is powerful he can maybe rival a god with his absurd ability, I'll give him that! Even still, like hell am I going to let some stupid vampire tell me what to do!
"Haha! Even after dying once you are still not scared of me! In fact, you are running straight at me! Haha! I'm in a good mood now, so I won't kill you just yet. Now, SLAM TO THE GROUND." The green-haired vampire said with a sadistic smile on his face while staring daggers directly into my eyes. In the next instant, just like what his command told me to do, I proceeded to slam against the ground out of nowhere that resembled someone slipping over a banana peel from some children's cartoon. But, at the very last second, I chucked one of my mini bombs towards the green-haired vampire but since I slammed to the ground, it missed its mark.
I managed to avoid my own bomb from hitting me, though I wasn't able to damage the green-haired vampire, let alone stop that guy in any way from getting closer to Aisa. However, what resulted from the green-haired vampire's command wasn't anything like slapstick in the slightest I fell onto the ground hard. No, trying to say that that I hit the ground hard would have been an understatement. I hit the ground so hard that it felt like I broke my nose and I might have even chipped some of my teeth. Whether my suspicions were actually the truth or not didn't really matter all that much because my entire body won't budge in the slightest now, plus it hurt like hell. Shit! Shit! Shit! Damn it all! I couldn't do anything to help my best friend, Aisa, at all!
There was nothing that I could do to help Aisa in the slightest because of my unintelligent actions of running recklessly into danger that got me slammed onto the hard, stone-ground by the green-haired vampire! The Vampire King Slipknot also could not do a single thing to help out Aisa now ever since he was torn to pieces by that vampire guy! And even if Slipknot managed to survive that attack, there is no doubt that he must be in a critical condition for the time being! To top it off, Hamazura must have been knocked out after the car's explosion, but even if he was still awake there was probably nothing that he could do in this situation that wouldn't end with his death! I thought all of that as the green-haired vampire was getting closer and closer towards Aisa until he inevitably reached her unconscious body with a sadistic smile on his face.
"Stop! Please just stop moving for a few more seconds! What do you even hope to gain by targeting Aisa?! Aisa can't do anything in the state that she is in right now! Aisa isn't even a threat to you so she should be the least of your concerns! Hell, if you are actually looking for someone who could give you a challenge, I know people that would give you a way better fight than Aisa could ever hope to achieve! So why? Why are so fixated on Aisa of all people?!" I yelled at the top of my lungs towards the green-haired vampire who was now right in front of Aisa's defenseless body. There was nothing that I could do to save Aisa in this situation, I knew that. This vampire guy could also kill me with ease if he wanted to, I knew that too. Even still, Aisa is my best friend in this whole wide world and the least I can do is buy some time for her!
"So your question is 'why am I so fixated on Aisa of all people, that's what you just said, right? Hmmm. That's easy. That answer is so pathetically easy to answer that I don't have to think about it in the slightest. You probably don't know this hence your confusion, little girl, but Aisa Himegami is the reason why I suffered so much in my past life. When I was a human being, I desired one thing and one thing only, to save the life of my beloved, that was my only goal and I would have done anything in order to fully realize that goal." The green-haired vampire said with an emotionless expression on his face while staring towards me without a hint of malice in his eyes whatsoever.
"I then discovered that Himegami Aisa was the exact person I was looking for, her Esper ability, Deep Blood, was able to save my beloved from her curse. However, your friend rejected my noble wish, and with some help from some guy who I can't remember his name, they both defeated me. Finally, I was sentenced to fifteen years in prison, but before my sentence was up, I was killed by another one of those Vampire Kings. And now here I am, you understand now why I seek to obtain my revenge against Aisa now, do you not? I was killed because of her selfish actions, and now I will kill her, I think the saying was blood for blood?" The green-haired vampire said with a horrifying look on his face as he was staring directly towards Aisa with an overwhelming amount of malice in his eyes, I didn't even have to see it to know that it was there.
"No! No! No! NO! Please! Anything but that! Kill me! I'm right here! So what the hell are you waiting for?! Kill me instead of her! If I'm not enough for you then how about this! Wouldn't you want to kill a ton of people instead of just one?! I can find them! I will find them for you! Just, please! Please don't kill my best friend!" I screamed at the top of my lungs with a terrified expression on my face while tears were dripping from my eyes which made it difficult to look towards Aisa or that green-haired vampire right now. I was desperate. I was so desperate in fact, that I was gambling my own life as well as others just to save another person's life. I couldn't have even thought of doing something so reckless before I met Aisa but here I am.
"Tsk. Are you joking?! Do you really think that if I gave a single shit about killing anyone else I would choose to be focusing on killing one little girl?! If I didn't remember this girl, I would definitely be doing exactly what you just said, I would kill you and then as many other humans that I could find before this 'loop' ends! But, this little girl is the sole reason why I suffered so much when I was human! This little girl is the sole reason why I died a cruel and merciless death! And for that sole reason, I will kill this girl right now! Huh? Wait was your name again? Oh yeah, I remember now! So long, Aisa! Now DIE." The green-haired vampire said with a horrific smile on his face while staring daggers straight towards Aisa's closed eyes.
"AISA, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I screamed at the top of my lungs with a face that was brimming with sadness and despair while tears were pouring from my eyes as I couldn't even see out of my eyes anymore. In the next instant, I was able to rub my eyes that were still gushing with my own tears with my only remaining hand, and I regained the ability to see out of them again. What I saw next, I couldn't even explain it to someone else if I tried to, it was that surreal. My best friend, Aisa, who I thought that I was going to see her cold, lifeless corpse, wasn't on the ground anymore. Instead, the one who was injured was none other than the green-haired vampire and both of his arms were sliced clean off from his body!
"W-WHAT?! M-MY ARMS?! THEY ARE GONE! IT HURTS SO MUCH! WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED TO ME?!" The green-haired vampire screamed at the top of his lungs with a look of pure terror on his face while looking around with his eyes in an effort to figure out what just happened to him. And then, as the green-haired vampire was frantically looking around while screaming in absolute agony, he felt a hand grip one of his shoulders tightly. No! No, it couldn't have been! There is no way that it was- the green-haired vampire was thinking in his mind until he was hit with something directly in the back by an unknown force.
"IT IS YOU ISN'T IT AISA?! YOU LITTLE BITCH! DIE! AHHHHH!" The green-haired vampire screamed at the top of his lungs until his thought process was cut off again by a blood-red weapon that was being struck against his face multiple times in succession with each other! And after being hit with the blood-red weapon at least twenty perhaps even thirty times, the blood-red weapon sent him flying away a couple of meters away from the attacker. How?! How the hell could she have avoided my ability?! No! That's impossible! My ability is unrivaled! But then how was she unaffected by it?! It's like she erased time?!
"Red Clacker Volley! That was for hurting Frenda, you vampire bastard!" A girl with straight, long, black hair said with a grimace on her face while staring towards the vampire that was flown away at an insane speed as she stared daggers towards him with a hint of the color green in her eyes. There was no doubt about it, it was her, that was my best friend, and her name is-
"HIMEGAMI AISA, YOU WILL PAY FOR STRIKING ME IN MY FACE WITH YOUR LIFE, YOU LITTLE BITCH!" The green-haired vampire said with a menacing look on his face as he was utterly enraged towards Aisa while grabbing his own face that was gushing out his blood onto the hard, stone ground.
"You look familiar. I know that I have seen you somewhere before, but where? Oh, that's right you are that guy who kidnapped me a few months ago. Your name, what was it? Hmmm. Eh, whatever. I guess, it doesn't even matter anymore, because you are already dead." Aisa said with a lack of emotion on her face while she wasn't even looking towards the green-haired vampire anymore, as she was now casually walking away from him, and not giving him any attention in the slightest.
"How?! HOW DARE YOU?! MY NAME IS AUREOLUS IZZARD! YOU RUINED MY LIFE ALL BECAUSE YOU WERE SELFISH AND I WILL KILL YOU FOR THAT! NOW DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE, RIGHT NOW YOU ROTTEN PIECE OF SHIT-" The green-haired vampire said with a deranged expression on his face as he was now standing up again and staring towards Aisa with an unimaginable amount of murderous intent in his eyes. He was going to kill her. He was going to kill her no matter what happens! And after he was going to kill her he was going to kill everyone that she ever loved and then the rest of humanity too. But, before the green-haired vampire could do any of that, Aisa cut him off one last time.
"Can you just stop telling me to die already? All I'm hearing from you is die, die, die, and it's getting really annoying, so can you just die instead? Now, shut up and go to hell." Aisa said with an expression that wasn't brimming with any emotion whatsoever, as she was still casually walking away from the green-haired vampire. And then, just as Aureolus Izzard realized that something was wrong, the blood-red weapons that Aisa was beating him senseless with, were not in her hands anymore. Instead, the sound of the blood-red clacker volley was hurtling somewhere, and it then hit Aureolus Izzard's head and completely obliterated it. Aureolus Izzard was now and forever dead.
"A-Aisa? I-Is that really you?! A-Are you really my best friend, Aisa?!" I said with an utterly dumbfounded expression on my face while staring towards the girl with long, straight, black hair as she was approaching me. I couldn't believe it. No, that's not exactly right I really couldn't believe who I was looking at right now. It's not like I couldn't tell who the black-haired girl was, it was obvious. The answer was so obvious I couldn't help but stare at her in disbelief because of what she just did. That black-haired girl not only managed to defeat that mentally deranged green-haired vampire who was on the level of a god, but she killed him with ease. Was that girl, no, was Aisa Himegami on a level that completely surpassed the gods?!
"Eh? Uh, yeah, of course, I am Aisa, Frenda. Who else would I be than the beautiful girl by day who steals the hearts of men everywhere she goes? The badass girl by night who kills any vampire that threatens her friends? It is I, Aisa Himegami! I'm going to save you and everyone else! And I'm going to defeat that Vampire Emperor guy and save the world while I'm at it too!" Aisa said with a cheerful smile on her face while she struck some overtop pose that resembled something from a certain Anime series as she was now right in front of me.
"Pfft! Haha! Hahahahahahaha! D-Did you just really say all of that stuff?! Hahaha! O-Oh my god, I can't stop laughing! Hahaha! W-Wow, I can't believe for a second I thought you were someone else! Hahaha! B-But, there is no one else who would have something so ridiculous, other than you! Fufufu!" I said with an expression that was brimming with delight while I was laughing my ass off over the black-haired girl that just declared that she would save everyone, defeat the Vampire Emperor, and save the world too! Yep, that's her.
"Huh? What? Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey, stop laughing like that! I just said something so cool and awesome with such perfect timing and this is the reaction that I get?! Ah, jeez! You can be so mean, Frenda!" Aisa said with a pout on her face while she was pointing towards me and was probably about to flick me on the forehead for laughing so hard at her. Instead, Aisa did another thing that was completely unexpected.
"A-Anyway! I'm back, Frenda." Aisa said with a soft smile on her face while moving some of her straight and long black hair behind her ear as she extended one of her hands towards me in order to get me back on my feet again.
"Yes. Welcome back, Aisa!" I said with a cheerful smile on my face while extending my only remaining right hand towards Aisa's right hand in order to grasp it. And then Aisa proceeded to pull me back up from where I was collapsed on the hard, stone ground, with a sheer amount of strength that I did not know she possessed until right now.
"Eh? A-Aisa?! D-Did you get, um, stronger or something?!" I said with an expression on my face that was brimming with confusion while staring towards Aisa with disbelief in my eyes as I was now standing once again mostly due to Aisa's strength compared to my own strength.
"Huh? Me?! Am I stronger or something, is that what you just said, Frenda?! Well, I mean, I do some slight exercises before I go to bed, but I don't ever work out at the gym or anything like that. Why do you ask?" Aisa said with a bewildered expression on her face while looking into my own eyes with her eyes, as she was completely dumbfounded why I would say such a thing all of a sudden.
"Eh? Eh?! Uh, I mean, it's not like you are that strong or anything! You just surprised me since you were able to lift me up with just one hand, that's all, really! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey, what's with that look on your face?! Stop looking at me right now or I will shove a bomb up your butt, dummy!" I said with a pissed-off expression on my face while pointing towards Aisa who was now giving me a smug smile. And then, I started to stand on my tiptoes as I was now pinching and pulling on Aisa's face in retaliation, for being so weird towards me all because I was just a little bit surprised over her strength!
"Tsk. Are you both done yet? I know that you were both just able to have some sort of reunion, but, if we all don't act quickly this 'loop' will end soon. And that means we will have to face that annoying vampire guy again along with the other vampires that will inevitably stand in our way as we get closer and closer to where the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand is right now." The Vampire King Slipknot said with an emotionless expression on his face while staring towards both me and Aisa, as he was now completely one-hundred percent healed. Wait, what?!
"Huh? What?! S-Slipknot, y-you are o-ok now?! A-And not just o-ok, but you are completely h-healed a-again?! First, you had your body sliced in half and now you had your entire body torn to pieces, and less than a minute later, you are absolutely fine?!" I said with a dumbfounded expression on my face while stuttering multiple times as my jaw dropped onto the floor and would have probably made it all the way to China if it weren't for the laws of physics. Wow! Vampire regeneration is absolutely absurd!
"Tsk. Yes, I am completely healed just like you said, little girl. Tsk. While you are right about when my body was cut in half, I was able to survive due to my vampire regeneration, you were wrong about what just happened. The only reason that I survived being 'torn to pieces' was due to me being a Vampire King, but, that is not why I was able to heal so quickly. Right, when Aisa killed that annoying vampire guy, I was immediately reverted to normal it must have been a defect to his ability. Anyway, let's go, little girl and Aisa. We can't waste any more time." The Vampire King Slipknot said with his signature emotionless expression on his face as he was now walking away from the both of us and expected both me and Aisa to follow him again.
"Eh?! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey, just hold on for a second! Ugh, why do you always do this to me, Slipknot?! Anyway, where are you even going right now? Last time I checked our car got blown to smithereens by that annoying vampire guy so how are we supposed to get back to Academy City in time?! I don't know if you have super speed like that other Vampire King, but there is no way I or Aisa can run faster than sound-huh?! Wait, Aisa, you are following Slipknot too? Are you even listening to anything that I'm saying?!" I said with a confused look on my face that then became a face that was pissed off because I couldn't help but complain at how shitty our situation had become. There was no way we were all going to get back to Academy City in time, that's what I thought at first. However, it turns out that I was wrong.
"Yes, yes, I have been listening to you this whole time Frenda. But, it's ok now everything will be ok now because I'm here! Haha! Don't you remember what my Esper ability, Deep Blood was, Frenda? I'll remind you what my power entails, Deep Blood allows me to create weapons from my own blood. But, Deep Blood's true purpose was by using my brain I can project any weapon that I desire out of thin air! Haha! Do you know what that means, Frenda? It means that I can create any weapon I want from my mind, I have almost limitless possibilities! And it also means I can create this too!" Aisa said with a smug smile on her face while walking forward alongside the Vampire King Slipknot as she revealed to me her new blood-red weapon.
"N-No way?! That's impossible?! There is no way you could create something as large as that?!" I screamed in utter disbelief over the new blood-red weapon that Aisa created with her mind out of thin air. It was also the weapon that was going to get us to Academy City with just plenty of time to spare. That blood-red weapon's name was-
Less than five minutes later and switching to Aisa's POV
"I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! Aisa, you dummy! I can't believe that you made such a ridiculous thing from your power or your mind or whatever it was! This deathtrap is seriously going to be the death of me!" Frenda said with a terrified expression on her face while her body was shaking uncontrollably and her teeth were incessantly chattering as she was in the seat right next to me on the new blood-red weapon that I created for the very first time! That blood-red weapon's name was the Red Fighter Aircraft!
"Oh come on, it will all be just fine like I said it was going to be, Frenda! Haha! Or is it something else! Frenda, you have a fear of heights, don't you? Haha! Well, if you do or not, everything is going to be ok! Plus, we have Slipknot, and apparently, when he was human, Slipknot was a pilot for the American Air force! So, there is nothing to worry about at all, right Slipknot?" I said with a cheerful smile on my face while petting Frenda's head in an effort to calm her down as the Vampire King Slipknot was piloting the Red Fighter Aircraft that was going to get us all to Academy City just in the nick of time!
"Tsk. Did you listen to me at all, Aisa? I said that I had to pilot an aircraft for the American Air Force only one time, and it was an emergency situation. So, I really don't have much experience in the slightest. Who knows, I might just end up crashing your newest experiment and this whole 'loop' will end with our deaths in a fiery grave." The Vampire King Slipknot said with his signature emotionless expression on his face while piloting the Red Fighter Aircraft towards the center of Academy City and where the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand currently is right now. Huh? Wait, hold on?! D-Did Slipknot just make a joke or something, because it isn't funny!
"What?! Are you kidding me, Aisa?! Did you seriously let Slipknot who has had little to no piloting experience pilot this Aircraft?! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! And it's all your fault Aisa! If I survive this, I'm so going to shove a bomb up your butt!" Frenda screamed at the top of her lungs while the Red Fighter Aircraft made its way throughout the night sky until it inevitably reached the center of Academy City as well as the massive castle floating in the darkness that was without a doubt the home of the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand! Finally, it's almost over! Wait, what the hell is that?!
"Tsk. It looks like we have got an unexpected guest. Is that bastard insane? I can't believe Franz Ferdinand would go so far that he would unleash that monster onto Academy City. That monster's name is the Vampire Titan Nickelback and he is completely unstoppable. There is no way that it can be defeated. I can't even compare to that monster. So we will just have to avoid that monster even if it costs the lives of the civilians. Hey, are you listening to me Aisa?" The Vampire King Slipknot said while staring at the giant monster that was effortlessly destroying Academy City, as I then made a decision that I wouldn't ever be able to take back.
"Huh? Oh, um, sorry about this! But, this is exactly where I'm supposed to go! I can't let that monster kill any more civilians. I refuse to let such a disaster occur! So, again, I'm sorry, but, I will be leaving things to you guys! However, I will be back! I promise that I will return and takedown that Vampire Emperor guy as soon as I defeat that monster once and for all! See you later, Frenda!" I said with an expression that was brimming with confidence and determination while standing up from the seat I was sitting on as I proceeded to jump off of the Red Fighter Aircraft that I created and I then skydived into the darkness of the night sky.
"Eh? What?! What are you doing?! Aisa, you will be killed! AISA, NOOOOOO!" Frenda screamed at the top of her lungs as I was now falling from the Red Fighter Aircraft and into the night sky that would lead me to the next opponent that I must defeat. Huh? Wait, something feels wrong? Hold on! No! No! No! No, did I just do something without thinking again?! I can't believe it! I forgot to make myself a parachute! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit, I have to make one right now! Oh wait, I can't! I can only make weapons from my own mind! Am I going to die?! Am I actually going to die?! I thought to myself as I was now plummeting to the ground that would now end with my own death. But then-
"W-What?! What the hell are you doing?! Do you have a death wish or something? Wait, why am I even asking that question? Of course, you do! No sane individual would jump off of an aircraft without a parachute, you idiot!" A certain girl with tawny hair tied into two curly pigtails said while she caught me midair as she saved me from plummeting to my own death.
"Oh, phew! I thought I was a goner right there! Thank god, you managed to save my ass in time, wait, who are you? You look oddly familiar? Have we met before by any chance?" I said with a relieved look on my face while thanking my savior, as I was wondering who she actually was. Hmmm. This girl looks like she was a cop from Judgment, but have I met her before?
"Yeah, that's exactly right! If I wasn't there to catch you, you would have certainly done more damage to yourself than just your ass, so you better be thanking me! Huh? Who am I? That's easy! My name is Shirai Kuroko! But, I don't remember meeting you until just now, though maybe we have crossed paths once or twice on the streets?! Well, whatever, it's a pleasure to meet you even though you almost just killed yourself." Shirai said with a pissed-off expression on her face that then became a face with a smile on it as she introduced herself to me for the first time. And then, Shirai used her Esper ability which must have been Teleportation as we were then teleported instantly to the ground of Academy City with no injuries whatsoever.
"The pleasure is all mine because you really did save my life! Thank you, Shirai! And now, there is nothing stopping me from getting to that huge vampire guy!" I said with a determined expression on my face that was brimming with confidence which I regained after the girl named Shirai Kuroko saved my life as I was now running towards the Vampire Titan Nickelback at full speed.
"Huh? What?! Are you kidding me?! You really do have a death wish, don't you, whatever your name is! There is no way you can stop that thing! No one can defeat that monster! Let alone a girl with a death wish!" Shirai yelled with a pissed-off expression on her face while I was running at top speed in order to get to where the Vampire Titan Nickelback is right now. Shirai did me a huge favor as I was only roughly twenty meters away from that huge vampire guy! Thanks again, Shirai! Just a little bit closer! Only a few more meters to go! There it is!
"Huh? Wait, you are?! Aisa?! What the hell are you doing here, Aisa?! Run! Please run away! You have to run away right now, if you do you can still survive because it hasn't noticed you yet! Aisa, what are you doing?! Run away right now or you will die!" A certain man with black, spiky hair said while I was ignoring his pleas as I was still approaching the huge monster that was ruining my beloved home. The man was covered with bruises and cuts. The man's white shirt was drenched in a few places with his own blood. The man, no, Toma Kamijo could not fight a battle that would end with his death, So, I'll fight for him.
"Toma. That huge monster is threatening this entire city and killing so many innocent people. That huge monster hurt you and so many people that I cherished more times than I can possibly count. If this was the old me, I would have gladly taken your offer. All I've been doing in my life was running away from what scared me again and again. But, I'm done running anymore! I refuse to run away from monsters that threaten my friends!" I said with an expression on my face that was brimming with determination as I was walking closer and closer towards the huge vampire that was hell-bent on killing everyone that I loved and destroying the world too.
"But, you don't have to worry about me, because it's going to be alright! Hey Toma, do you remember what you did for me a few months ago? I was kidnapped by an evil villain that wanted to kill me so that he could achieve his selfish desires. I was alone. I felt that I had no chance of survival. I was so afraid that I was going to die and that I wouldn't be able to live a life that was precious and worth living. But then, you saved me, and I was able to live a life that was precious and worth living. So, it's only natural that I return the favor!" I said while looking towards Toma one last time with a bright smile on my face as I was now only a few meters away from the person that I must protect as well as the monster that I had to defeat no matter what!
"Well, well, well! Look at what we have here! In one corner there is an invincible and unstoppable creature of darkness! The greatest weapon that was made by yours truly, the Vampire Titan Nickelback! And in the other corner, a frail and defenseless human girl! The last descendant of the pathetic Himegami family, Himegami Aisa, in the flesh! Now, who will win this fight? Hahaha! Isn't it obvious that this little girl will be killed by this massive monster! There is no possible way that she can win!" A certain voice said that was coming from the massive castle that was floating in the night sky. It was the voice of the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand and it annoyed the hell out of me.
"Now, Nickelback, kill this pathetic little-stop that already! What?! You are still trying to resist?! It's useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! It's utterly useless that you are trying to steal back control of this body-shut the hell up! Aisa! Aisa, what are doing here?! Run away Aisa! You have to run away right this second! If you do you might survive a little bit longer! So please, run away! Aisa, you can't fight this monster! If you do, you will die! Even if you try to summon a weapon that can actually kill that monster, it will be too much for your body to handle and you'll die! You can't die! I don't want my best friend to suffer anymore!" The Vampire Franz Ferdinand said as his control was overtaken by Nanoha who was still alive and fighting back in order to save me again. I then proceeded to take a piece of headwear out of my pocket, it was a Red Bandana.
"Nanoha, I'm so happy that you are still alive. To tell you the truth, I was just a little scared when I saw that huge vampire guy, but now, I can fight! I will protect you Nanoha! I will protect all of my friends that I cherish! I will protect everyone that is being threatened by these stupid vampires! And I will defeat that huge vampire guy! But first, Nanoha, do you remember this? This is the Red Bandana I gave you on the day of our second encounter. This Red Bandana is the red thread of fate that binds me to you and it is the symbol of our everlasting friendship. So just leave everything to me, because I'm coming to save you Nanoha, and I will make sure you will be able to be free from your curse!" I roared at the top of my lungs with an expression that was brimming with confidence while I tied the red bandana onto my head tightly as I was standing only a few meters away from the Vampire Titan Nickelback.
"Aisa, then please save me that's enough out of you! But, yes, that girl is completely right, because you will die, Himegami Aisa! Now, Nickelback, attack! Attack! Attack! Attack! Attack and kill that black-haired pathetic little girl! KILL HER RIGHT NOW!" Nanoha said while control over her own body was once again stolen from her by the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand as he then commanded the Vampire Titan Nickelback that he will kill the girl named Aisa Himegami. And then, in an instant, no, less than a single instant, Nickelback received its order from his lord and was sending its massive fist towards me at a ridiculous speed as it was shattering the windows of the buildings that remained around us.
I froze. That monster was so utterly huge, no, that would have been an understatement. The Vampire Titan Nickelback was a massive monster, its entire body was a mix of black and red skin, and it was horrifying to look at. I didn't even know if that was its skin, could it have been its flesh? It didn't even have any hair on its body, nor any sexual organs, was it even a vampire? Either way that monster wasn't human in the slightest. But, that didn't really matter right now. What mattered was that Nickelback was attempting to land his gigantic fist onto my body. It would be an attack that would mean instant death if it hit me. I wouldn't have a chance to survive, not in the slightest. So, I froze, I couldn't move, it felt like time has stopped. I couldn't do anything like the massive monster's fist was getting closer and closer towards me. What do I do? What can I do? What am I supposed to do against something that is so utterly huge?
"Can you still move?" A voice said to me as I saw something out of the corner of my eyes, it was my reflection. No, that's wrong it was an exact replica of my body as it was looking away from me. But, it wasn't me. It might have looked identical to me but that girl wasn't me. That girl was the other Aisa Himegami inside me and she asked me a simple question, 'Can you still move?' that's the question she asked me. Tsk. What the hell is this girl even saying to me?!
"Yeah, of course, I can still move." I responded back to the other me with an irritated voice as something about her annoyed me for some inexplicable reason that I could not explain.
"Then imagine a weapon that can defeat that monster, and kill it just like all the other vampires that we killed." The other me said to me, her voice lacked any emotion whatsoever, and she sounded like a doll who had one purpose and one purpose only, to kill. That was the only thing that the other me could do. I knew that. I knew all of that already. I suddenly remembered a grand and epic battle from some fictional story I read in my childhood it was called David vs Goliath.
The fight between David and Goliath was between a normal human and a massive monster and in the story David managed to defeat Goliath with a slingshot, which means that Goliath nor the giant monster I have to fight aren't completely invincible. It wasn't all that different from my forthcoming battle with the Vampire Titan Nickleback. All I have to do is defeat another vampire the only difference between all the other ones was a difference of size, that was all. Ha. That 'other me' makes things sound so trivial but she's right.
"Yeah, you are completely right. So, I'll make a weapon that will absolutely annihilate that huge monster right here and right now!" I said towards the 'other me' as she then vanished into thin air almost like she was never there in the first place. I proceeded to remember all of the weapons that existed throughout the history of the world in order to find one that can kill such a huge vampire in one shot. Got it! That weapon is perfect! And now I will kill that really big vampire bastard with everything that I have in this body!
"GIANT RED ARMORED TANK DESTROYER!" I roared at the top of my lungs as the complete picture of a giant armored tank in my mind became fully realized as a blood-red giant armored tank was projected from my mind and right in front of my body. In that instant, my right eye exploded and I shrieked in utter pain and absolute agony as I couldn't see anymore from one of my eyes. The gaping wound where my right eye used to be shot out my own blood onto the ground beneath me and drenched it blood-red. It hurts! It hurts! It hurts! It hurts so much that the pain is incomparable to any other wound I have received. Even still, I can still fight!
I proceeded to jump onto the Giant Red Armored Tank Destroyer, as I then crawled towards the gun of the tank and fired it! The gun of the blood-red giant armored tank was fired and it sent multiple giant cannon shells that were faster than the speed of sound towards the massive fist of the Vampire Titan Nickelback. The giant cannon shells then proceeded to tear the massive fist of Nickelback's right arm into two pieces as they traveled at a speed that was increasing more and more by the second! And then, the giant cannon shells went all throughout the body of the Vampire Titan and ripped it into many pieces that were falling from the night sky and onto the ground at a rapid speed. The battle was decided in less than an instant, I won! Wait, what?!
But then, the giant head of the Vampire Titan Nickelback, which wasn't even leaking any of its blood onto the ground or from anywhere else, was now heading towards me in a last-ditch attempt to end my life. Nickelback's head, which was utterly massive and even bigger than his own fist was twisted and deranged looking, and it was very familiar. It was an expression of absolute hate that I have seen many times before, on the vampires that threatened my life countless times throughout my very existence. It was the face of a berserker it desired one thing and one thing only to kill me. That was the desire of this massive monster that was using the last few seconds of its life to attempt to kill me. All that monster wanted was to kill, kill, and kill again, making sure that everyone and I especially regret that we were ever born into this world.
"Tsk. You are such an annoying vampire bastard. Just die already. But, if you won't die of your own volition then I will kill you. SILVER GIANT SNIPER RIFLE!" I said as I roared once more at the top of my lungs as the complete picture of the giant sniper rifle in my mind became fully realized as an iron-blood-silver giant sniper rifle was projected from my mind and into my hands. I proceeded to aim directly at the Vampire Titan Nickelback's head, as I then fired one last attack towards the massive monster's head. It was a giant bullet shell there was only one bullet, so if I missed I would surely die. However, it was a direct hit and the giant bullet shell completely obliterated the massive monster's brain completely. The Vampire Titan Nickelback was dead.
The utterly giant dead corpse parts of the Vampire Titan Nickelback rained throughout the dark, night sky as they crash-landed onto multiple buildings and almost destroyed them. No, the corpse parts of the dead massive monster would have surely annihilated those buildings which would have killed an insane number of people in the process. However, just as the corpse parts of Nickelback were about to touch the buildings, they completely disintegrated. There wasn't a trace of any of the corpse parts left, as they miraculously vanished into the wind. But then, there was one corpse part left that didn't vanish completely, the left hand, which was heading straight for the giant castle in the sky. And then, the left hand, the only part of Nickelback that remained crash-landed onto the massive castle and sent it all the way to the ground. It was a direct hit!
The massive castle that belonged to the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand crash-landed onto the ground of Academy City, as it was no longer flying in the sky anymore. Luckily, the place where the giant castle landed didn't have a building on it, and more importantly, no humans were injured as the ground cracked and sent a huge gust of wind towards me. But, I ignored it. The wound from where my left eye used to be hurt like hell. But, I ignored that too. I proceeded to remove the red bandana from my head and I tied it onto the gaping hole where my right eye was previously in order to make sure that I don't lose any more of my blood. And then, as I stood in place, I made one final declaration of war towards the massive castle that was approximately thirty meters away from me now along with everyone else.
"It's almost over! There are only a few enemies that remain! So anyone that is willing to come with me, then do so now or forever hold your peace! Because, I will end this Night of Nights, and I will make sure that the sun rises in the sky again, no matter what! LET'S GO!" I roared at the top of my lungs with an expression that was brimming with determination and confidence, while I resolved to myself and everyone else that no matter what happens to me, this never-ending night will end, and the sun will rise again in the sky!
Meanwhile inside the vampire castle
"My master. The girl with the Esper ability, Deep Blood, is approaching this castle at a rapid speed. The girl named Himegami Aisa will reach this castle in about two to three minutes. What are your orders, my master?" Three girls that looked exactly the same as each other aside from their hair color spoke in unison and kneeled towards a certain person that had long, straight, white hair as well as nothing covering their exposed upper body. The only things that were on the person's body were many stars that were embroidered on their back that were the color of blood-red. This person was none other than the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand.
"My Spice Girls, this will probably end up as my final order towards you, so I request that you abide by this order no matter what happens. Go now and guard the front entrance against any and all intruders, except, the girl named Himegami Aisa. I will take her life personally, so no matter what happens, you all will not take her life. I will be the one to end the Himegami bloodline once and for all! Now go, my Spice Girls, this is the climax!" The Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand said in a calm and collected voice that then became a roar as he declared that he would face off against the girl named Aisa Himegami and kill her with everything he had as the Night of Nights has reached its penultimate point and will come to an end!
Hello Everyone! Ren Here! First things first, I was able to release another chapter because I had the time, and I'm very close to finishing writing this story! Anyway, with this chapter, I wanted to showcase the rematch fight between Aisa and Aureolus Izzard which was a complete stomp with the purpose of showing how far Aisa has come throughout this story. I also wanted to showcase the huge fight between Aisa and the Vampire Titan Nickelback which was a fight I was waiting to write for a while and I'm very satisfied with how it turned out! And finally, now Aisa is about to invade the giant castle as her final fight with the Vampire Emperor Franz Ferdinand will begin next chapter! There are only four more chapters left before this story ends! Get excited! Ren Out!
