Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Watery Wonders. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Pokémon, Nintendo and a few others.
"Why do you always jump?" Landon questioned Croconaw as the Pokémon hopped up. "Your giving me a headache…" Landon muttered and sighed as he rubbed at his temples.
He knew for a fact that the Pokémon would continue to rush around while he pondered his next move. Landon could do nothing to calm the creature as he hummed and crossed his hands.
Landon watched Croconaw leap into the air once more before backflipping into the water. Landon shook his head and started to walk towards the other side of the pier. Landon hummed and then watched Croconaw leap out of the water to land in front of him.
Landon shook his head and leaned down to pat the Pokémon on the head. Croconaw continued to dance around his feet before falling into step next to him.
"Hmm…" Landon muttered as said Pokémon continued to follow after his master. "C'mon, we need to find someone who can tell us where the next city is." Landon stated and cracked his fingers while he started walking.
Croconaw was quite like its younger form before it evolved. Landon couldn't blame the small Pokémon for its explosive energy. He enjoyed seeing his Pokémon fight and grow stronger, but Landon didn't want him to hurt himself.
Landon watched the Pokémon latch onto his leg. Landon tapped the Pokémon on its head. Landon shook his head and then picked up the Pokémon and started walking.
"What I'm going to do with you?" Landon asked as he leaned on one of the lampposts. "Your seriously just so eager to jump from fight to fight… Then again? I cant blame you… I kinda want to fight someone as well." Landon stated and continued to walk with Croconaw in his hand.
Croconaw continued to squirm in his hands while the Pokémon sighed. Croconaw looked up at his owner and clasped his jaws together while he looked to the side. Landon rested his chin on the lip of the head of the Pokémon.
"Croc!" Croconaw shouted as Landon shook his head with amusement.
Landon walked for a few minutes before finally putting the Pokémon down and onto the ground. It looked at his owner as he patted his hands on his knees before Landon hummed and then begun to walk away as he brushed his hands off.
"C'mon, bud… I'll go buy you some food so you can relax." Landon said and stuck his hands into his pockets. Landon hummed and then looked down at the Pokémon.
Landon watched the Pokémon leap up at Landon who hummed and then sighed as he began to ask people for where to get his companion food to feed him. It almost made Landon chuckle with amusement as he pursed his lips together.
Landon could only be curious at how the Pokémon was. He watched Croconaw continue to dance around his feet as he hummed. Landon crossed his arms as Croconaw continued to pass in front of his feet back and forth.
Landon could only hum at how crazy his Pokémon usually was. Landon almost tripped once or twice… But he dealt with it as he always did. His Pokémon was quite restless and cracked a smile down at the creature who was busy swinging his arms back and forth.
"Small little ball of energy…" Landon muttered smiling. "I swear, I think you actually became more restless when you evolved." Landon said as he brushed off his jacket and then placed his hands back into his pockets.
Landon knew he couldn't blame his Pokémon for being like this. But it was enjoyably funny to see the Pokémon leap to the side as people passed him. It made him think back to when the Pokémon and him had first met.
'Always running around, always causing havoc and getting into trouble… Always wanting another fight and getting upset when I didn't want to push him. I don't think he's changed at all since then to be honest.' Landon thought to himself as he pulled out Croconaw's Pokeball and turned it over.
Croconaw looked at the Pokeball in its trainer hand and started to leap up and down. Landon tucked the device back into his pocket.
"I swear your going to hurt yourself someday." Landon said and looked up at the sky. "Like bad, and you know I don't want you getting hurt like that. I'd be terrified if something bad happened to you that I could stop." Landon added as Croconaw titled his head to the side.
Landon was curious as to what happened next down the road. His Pokémon was quite happy to be out and about. Landon eagerly awaited the next bout he and his Pokémon had.
'This is going to be a long day…' Landon thought to himself as he continued to walk down the road.
He could already tell the next adventure would be far tougher than this.
