Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Watery Wonders. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Pokémon, Nintendo and a few others.
Landon looked down at Croconaw with the same look he normally did. The Pokémon didn't seem to very much mind or care from what he saw. Still? He wasn't as amused as his Pokémon was.
"What am I going to do with you, bud?" Landon questioned as he cracked his knuckles. "You do nothing but eat, battle, rest. I'm not mad you like doing that…. It is part of you, after all. But still? I'm not happy with what you do all the time, little guy. It isn't as funny as you seem to think it is." Landon stated before cracking a smile at the Pokémon as his anger slowly vanished.
He couldn't stay to make sure what happened at the moment. Landon was sure that there will be more Pokémon battles sooner or later. Croconaw was a very good Pokémon, one that he could count in in times of strife or such… But Croconaw was TERRIBLE when it came to anything outside of battling.
"Croconaw, Croc!" Croconaw added which got Landon to roll his eyes at this gesture before he shook his head.
"What am I going to do with you?" Landon asked as he reached into his backpack and pulled out a can of food. "Seriously. I think you enjoy food more then you enjoy anything else." Landon stated while trying to make sure the food was good enough for the Pokémon.
Still? It wasn't like he didn't have plenty of practice with the gesture. Landon was aware of how picky Croconaw was when it came down to it. He was a GREAT many things, being a stable Pokémon? That wasn't one because said Pokémon was ALL too eager to lay waste to his enemies.
"You know, sometimes I wonder what would happen if you weren't like this." Landon added, placing his hand upon the Pokémon's head as it looked at him. "Don't give me that look. You ENJOY fighting when we do it. You enjoy hurting and fighting Pokémon. I think sometimes you scare me." Landon stated while said Pokémon which made him roll his eyes as he laid out food with the Pokémon.
He didn't blame him for being eager to fight. He had been so happy trying to prove his mettle as Tododile, but now that he was no longer said Pokémon? It was beginning to grate on him somewhat that he could hopefully wish when it came down to it.
He sighed and watched his oldest friend dine as he leaned on a lamppost, eager to simply get this done and dusted off the Pokeball that he held. He could only pray that this Pokémon toned down his eagerness to fight when it comes down to it.
"Croconaw, croc!" Croconaw said, hopping up and down as Landon slowly looked down at the Pokémon. "NAW!" He screeched, food mashing in his teeth as he hummed with amusement.
He leaned down and patted the Pokémon upon the head before slowly picking him up. He grabbed the bowl with his other hand and put the bowl back in his backpack before carrying the Pokémon away.
"Why are you so heavy?" Landon asked, gazing down at the Pokémon in his arms which leapt for joy. "This was easier when you weren't this heavy. It's becoming annoying. There's plenty of things we got to do before it comes down to it." Landon said while he pondered what else would be happening today.
Then again? Considering how much his Pokémon enjoyed a battle? Landon guessed by the time the sun went down the duo would be in another Pokémon battle.
"Buddy, stop moving so much or I'm going to drop you." Landon muttered, trying not to drop the heavy Pokémon which caused a strain on his arms as he sighed.
He sat on a bench and laid the Pokémon down next to him. Landon closed his eyes and tried not to sleep. Croconaw looked at his exhausted master with interest as he turned to sit besides him. Landon gave the animal a small pat on the head before simply deciding to sleep and try to forget about this happening.
He didn't know what tomorrow would bring. Nobody had told him that, nor did he really care at the moment. He could do almost ponder what the next battle would be like when it came down to it. The more fights he and his Pokémon got into? The more he almost questioned WHY it came down to it. Pokémon battles were fun, sure… But Landon wanted more then that when he thought about it. More then simply fighting other Pokémon and such.
He looked over at Croconaw who had curled up into a ball next to him. It made him roll his eyes and smile at the creature realizing that he could be calm at the moment.
"This is going to be a long day, isn't it?" Landon asked while he hummed.
