The moon was shining down through the sky. A young lady stood on the roof above. here life was pretty sick the twisted affairs of her life held a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. The air above was stale and the ground below her was as solid as concrete could be.
This was a good place to relax one where she could calm herself with her book. Her grandfather was the nicest man he once uses to talk about other worlds. And one she could calm herself around the woman was so kind. The only one who actually was kind to her who actually talk to her.
But now she was gone she was alone and all she could feel was empty no love, no hugs like other kids. She just wanted to disappear. She stood up and went to jump.
But she disappeared.
Spider man
A soul appeared in a ball. Her body was like ice as it formed. It was like the world around her body was trying to forcefully push on her.
As she awoke her body showed its form on the streets. Much younger than before. She had long black hair in two ponytails tied in red ribbons. She had a white top like outfit with a black red and dark red mixed into her dress. Her eyes were a scarlet red and she had diamond pupils. Her dress had black and red lace with many diamonds hanging on strings on her arm. her skin was a very fair color. On her neck she wore a choker with a small red diamond hanging on it. She wore black gloves and had two roses on her top and around her and finely she had black shoes that looked like church shoes and that had red straps and long white tights up to ankles.
Her memory formed in her head. She saw a woman and Loki. The woman, her mother, she was the type to play tricks on others and she was born from that little trick.
She loved this. She looked around the new neighborhood her mother had moved them to. New York was great.
"Beautiful day, isn't it?" Her mother asked.
"Yes it is and it would be better if I could meet the other half of the family." She remarked.
Her mother sighed and said, "It would be a lot easier if your father and your uncle got along."
"And he knew I existed or father knew I existed." She remarked with a smirk.
Her mother laughed and said, "That's true. But it's not easy getting a hold of him. He's not exactly from around here if you know what I mean."
Marissa snapped her fingers and made a lollipop appear. "Yep totally." She sucked on her candy.
"Try not to do that in front of people at school," said her mother. "Don't want students mobbing you. Pranks, on the other hand, have at it as long as you don't get caught."
"I love you so much, coolest mom ever." Marissa happily said, hugging her mother.
-School-
Marissa went to the office and met with the principal. He seemed like an okay man. She was so tempted to prank him though.
"So you're Marissa Lionheart," said the principal, Phil Coulson. He looked at her papers. "Excellent grades. Hmmm. Seems you're a bit of a trickster. According to this you pulled a variety of pranks in your last school."
"Honestly it wasn't that bad." She smirked cheerfully.
"Still unclear how you pulled these off by yourself," said Coulson whilst showing pictures to her. One had chairs stuck to the ceiling, one had the parking spaces in the faculty lot thinner, and another had all of the sporting equipment in the middle of the football field.
"They blamed me for a lot. They had no proof." She smiled. "Honestly I was truly unfairly blamed."
"Were you also unfairly blamed for the lime jello in a science classroom?" Coulson asked, folding his hands. "Or the morning announcements playing J-Pop? Or the one math teacher suddenly drinking ink instead of coffee?"
As he spoke. A guy came in and said, "Uh sir…..your car's on the roof."
"Very funny," said Coulson. He looked outside and saw it was not in it's parking space. "What the hell?! I know I parked right there!"
"We found it on the roof as I said sir."
Coulson had a shocked look on his face as he turned around to look at Marissa. Could she have arranged for that to happen? But how? He never saw her leave or use her phone.
He breathed and regained his composure and then said, "Okay. Not a problem. I'll…. Call someone to get it down."
"Oh my mover, she could definitely help with that." She smiled happily.
"Okay. Thank you," said Coulson. He then gave her two pieces of paper. "Here's your school schedule. The other one is your locker number and combination. If you ever need help, my door's always open, as is the guidance counselor's. Have a nice day."
"You too and really I was unfairly blamed." She said as she left with a huge smile.
Coulson looked suspicious. After she was gone, he contacted Nick Fury. "Is there anything specific you can give me about the mother of a new student? Her name's Marissa Lionheart."
"Her mother is Apate, same last name. She's named after the goddess of trickery. Which she takes great pride in. She was formerly a doctor until she won the lottery and turned a number of her winnings into good investments," Fury said.
"That's all?" Coulson asked.
"All I looked into," said Fury. "Because, frankly, I have more pressing matters than your transfer students. Also her information is coded……"
"Okay. I'm just really confused if she had something to do with my car ending up on the roof," said Coulson.
"You mean because in the last school she had pulled pranks all the time and they could never prove it."
"I have reason to believe she pranked me just now!" Coulson declared.
Fury was silent for a moment, and then said, "You didn't see and you have no proof."
"No I don't," Coulson reluctantly said. He pulled out the number he was given. "I'll call back later. I gotta get my car down."
"Save the call for when you have actual evidence," said Fury and then he hung up.
-In class-
She really enjoyed pranks. But what she really wanted was to meet her other family. When the teacher arrived, he had an announcement; well, two.
"Okay, students, we have a new student joining us today," she said. "Marissa Lionheart, please stand up."
She stood up. Then twitched her fingers as she smiled. "I'm Marissa. It's a pleasure to meet you all." She was mently laughing.
"You as well, Marissa," said the teacher. "You picked a good time to show up. The class is going on a field trip to the museum to see a new exhibit dedicated to the Norse Gods this week."
"Can't wait sounds very fun." She smiled even wider.
"Your mother found out about it when she was transferring you and already paid your fee. So don't worry about anything," said the teacher. "Take your seat and turn to page 14."
She sat down as the teacher went to drink her coffee and it exploded in her face. The teacher coughed as the class at the scene.
"Okay. Very funny. Who did that?" She angrily asked. Nobody answered. "Fine. Since no one's owning up, how about a pop quiz?"
Everyone groaned. In response and started putting everything away. The entire class ended up taking part in the test. Once class was over, everyone was ticked and annoyed.
"I can't believe we had to pay for someone else's prank," a brunette girl complained.
"There was no evidence pointing to the actual prankster," said a blonde boy.
A brunette boy looked at Marissa and saw her giggling. He felt a buzzing sensation.
"I'm gonna see if the new girl knows anything," he said as he followed her. "Hey! Marissa! Wait up!"
"Hum what's up?" She asked in a sweet tone.
"I'm Peter Parker. I sit next to you in class," said the boy. "How are you liking the school so far?"
"It's interesting." She said smiling.
"Glad to hear," said Peter. "By the way….. you didn't happen to see who put a firecracker in the teacher's coffee, did you?"
"How would I know? No one was close enough." She smirked.
"Oh. Too bad," said Peter, though he was suspicious of her. "Well, I guess I'll see you at lunch. Watch out, though. I hear it's supposed to be some type of tuna helper."
Marissa smirked again as he left. "Not for long," she said, and then snapped her fingers.
-lunch time-
The students gathered into the cafeteria for lunch. They had expected the cafeteria food Peter had said, but they were surprised by what was on their trays. They were given burgers and fries.
"Where'd this come from?" a boy asked. "Not that I'm complaining."
"Not sure," said the lunch lady. "The food suddenly turned into it as we were getting ready to serve it."
As they started walking to their table, Peter spoke to his friends.
"This is getting weird," he said.
"Kinda cool!" Said the boy from the line.
"Still weird, Sam," said a brunette girl. She spotted Marissa getting her lunch and became curious. "Funny how it started once she started here."
"Yeah," said Peter. "But it doesn't feel like she's dangerous. I think we should get to know her."
"Yeah. You're right," said the girl. "Hey, Marissa. I'm Ava Ayala, I'm Peter's friend. Why don't you come sit with us?"
"Love to." She walked over and took a seat. She started to eat her food.
"Pretty interesting coincidence how the unappetizing lunch option suddenly turned into something cool, huh?" Sam asked, looking at Marissa for a second.
"Interesting, but cool," said a red haired girl. "I'm Mary-Jane Watson. Call me M.J. and that was Sam Alexander."
"Just lucky I guess." She said in a sweet tone. She took a bite of her burger.
"I like that kinda luck," said a boy with curly brown hair. "I'm Harry. Harry Osborn."
"I'm Danny Rand," said the blonde as he ate his lunch.
"And I'm Luke Cage," said a big African American guy with muscles.
"Maybe we can all be friends," said Peter.
"I'd like that," said Marissa with a sweet smile.
-field trip day-
Marissa eagerly got herself ready for the trip. She brushed and styled her hair and admired her dress.
"I thought you were going to the museum, not a fashion show," her mother said as a joke.
"Just trying to be conscious about my appearance," said Marissa. "I might get to see an image of daddy."
She made some chocolate bon bons. "Chocolate mom?"
"Thank you," said her mother as she took one and ate it. "Delicious. Made from scratch?"
"Yep." She said in a sweet tone.
The museum
Marissa was humming sweetly as she walked. Peter seemed to be hanging back, which confused her. She was soon interested in a stone and listened as Coulson spoke.
"A Nordic rune stone," he said. "We used to believe that the legends of Asgard were myths. Odin, Loki, and of course the mighty Thor. It is said that Thor and Loki were often at odds with one another. Does anyone know why?"
"Because they were brothers and Loki often played pranks on Thor." Marissa suggested with a smile.
"That's right," said Coulson. "And there's also the throne of Asgard. Thor is the heir, but Loki believes it should be his."
She smiled looking at the tablet. She looked around for the pictures and saw her father on the wall. They were pretty close to her mother's pictures of him. Peter took notice and went to talk to her.
"So you're a fan of Norse Gods, huh?" He asked.
"Sorta….."
"You know, Thor's an Avenger," said Peter.
"No actually I did not know that. I wish I could meet him." She smiled; she'd love to meet her uncle. "You wanna hear a secret?"
Peter looked around and then said, "I promise not to tell."
"My father is Loki."
Peter blinked in surprise. "Seriously? Him?" Peter asked.
"Yes," said Marissa.
Some of Peter's friends were looking at the rune stone when there was a bright light. Everyone backed up a bit as something materialized. It was a giant nonhuman being with blue skin and pieces of ice. It roared as it slammed it's icicle covered club everywhere. Marissa seemed to recognize it.
"A frost giant!" She said. She looked a little too excited about this. She ran up and smiled at this. She could pull the biggest prank on this thing.
"Nice club." She snapped her fingers and it turned into a snake that wrapped around it and she laughed a little as it tried to get free.
"Everyone, evacuate in an orderly fashion! Buddy system, please!" Coulson shouted over the screaming. He looked back at Peter, Ava, Sam, Luke, and Danny and spoke to them. "Take care of it."
"Seems like we don't need to do much," said Peter, referring to the tangled up giant.
Coulson looked at Marissa, who was still laughing at the situation. That was when thunder and lightning was seen and heard. The ceiling broke and a blonde man stood up. Everyone immediately recognized him as the mighty Thor.
Thor looked at the scene with curiosity. "This seems unusual," he said. He looked at Coulson. "Son of Cole, was this the doing of another being with powers?"
Coulson looked at Marissa and said, "I suspect it was her."
"Now, now, a little prank here and there isn't so bad." She giggled.
"You speak in the same manner as my half brother, Loki," said Thor. "Are you of his bloodline?"
"Yes I'm his daughter, my mother's part of Apate. She's a demi goddess of tricky, definitely not as powerful as me, though both bloodlines make me very strong." She smiled cheerfully.
"Wait hold up, what percentage of human are you?" Sam asked in confusion.
"10 percent?" Marissa said, thinking about it for just a moment.
"Holy shit," said Sam in shock.
Thor sighed and said, "This complicates matters. Well, I shall simply have to bring you to my father, king Odin."
"Sorry, Thor, but I must protest," said Coulson. "As principal of her school, I can't allow you to take a student. You'll need her mother's permission."
"Then I shall honor your world's rules and speak with her later," said Thor. And then he went to the giant and saw a green medallion around its neck.
Peter got an odd sensation again and shouted, "Don't touch that! I think something's wrong with it!"
Thor ignored him, claiming he knew what he was doing. And then he grabbed the medallion and screamed in agony as a flash of light engulfed him. Once the light diminished, in Thor's place was…… a frog!
He groaned and said, "This is most definitely my brother's doing."
"I would have gone with a cat or snake, this is just so not cool. Dad needs to step up his game in pranks." Marissa remarked a little annoyed.
"He may be in Asgard now," said Thor, and then he saw a fly and caught it with his tongue.
"Then we should go there and take care of him," said Peter. "Everyone, suit up."
"I'm sorry, suit up?" Marissa remarked.
"Allow me to introduce myself," said Sam. And then he took out a gold helmet and put it on. This made a superhero costume appear on him. "I am….. Nova!"
"Oh you're the human bug zapper."
Nova blinked and his friends laughed at him. That was when they left and came back in their own suits. Ava's was all white with light gray tiger stripes. Danny's was all green. Luke had on one that was yellow with black and gray parts, and Peter's was blue and red with a spider web pattern.
"You can call me White Tiger," Ava said as she put on her tiger mask and showed her claws.
"I am Iron Fist," said Danny while tying his yellow mask.
"Just call me Power Man," said Luke while sporting sunglasses.
"And I'm the Ultimate Spiderman," said Peter as he put on his mask.
"Well if I should look prepared I must have a staff." Marissa snapped her fingers as a gold staff with points pointing up which were black gold green and red. In the middle was a red and black diamond. "Much better. Shall we?"
"To Asgard!" Thor said as he opened up a portal. "Prepare to behold the realm of the gods."
"I dislike frogs so something needs to be done. I can't change you back but certainly something better can be done." She said changing him into puss and boots. "Much better."
"For you, perhaps?" Thor complained.
"Look I can't change you back unless I know what he did. There's a limit to things I can do, uncle, not a huge one but there is a limit. And unless I saw what he did I can't undo it. So to get you back to normal either a I learn how my father did it or b I can just try to trick him into changing you back. I mean I'm powerful but I need to understand how something works to make the impossible happen."
They went into the portal and went to Asgard.
-Asgard-
The heroes arrived at Asgard. However, it was very different from the pictures. The buildings and people were all frozen in ice.
"No!" Thor shouted in horror. "Clearly my brother's trickery knows no bounds!"
"Now, this I can fix," said Marissa.
"We must hurry to the palace!" Thor said.
"One second." She held her staff out and unfroze most of the people near her. "Ok lets go."
"Why is there a cat wearing boots here?" a little girl asked.
"Young child, do you not recognize the son of Odin? Heir to the throne of Asgard?" Thor dramatically asked.
The girl stared blankly at him and said, "You look like the kitty from my favorite Earth based bedtime story!"
Thor fell over in humiliation. Marissa was laughing a little.
"Mira, come over here!" The girl's mother called.
"Coming, mother!" the girl said as she ran to her mother.
"Can anyone tell how this happened?" White Tiger asked.
"It was the Frost Giants!" a man said in panic. "They attacked without warning!"
"They must have known that Odin is taking his rest to recharge his power," another woman said.
"Of course. It figures Loki would choose now to usurp the throne," said Thor. And then Sam started scratching his ear and he purred. "Oh, yeah. That's nice. Yes."
"So adorable." Marissa said in a cheerful tone.
Thor then realized what he was doing and jumped back. "Enough of this silliness! We must go before it's too late!" And then he rushed to battle.
"Can you folks help the people who are still frozen?" Spider Man asked the locals.
"Yes. Good luck, heroes. We believe in you. Save our king," said a woman.
They all left. Towards where Odin was Marissa's eyes on the landscape as they walked. Asgard was a beautiful place, snow and ice aside. And this was because of the Frost Giants, and her father probably brought them.
"I apologize for this day," said Thor. "You should not have to meet your father in this way."
"Maybe but I still wanna meet him." She started to walk away.
"Loki! Come out right now!" Thor shouted. And he was suddenly frozen.
Everyone looked ahead and saw a group of Frost Giants surrounding them. Spider Man and the others tried to fight back, but they were all frozen as well. One then went to attack Marissa. It stopped upon seeing her staff. And then the giant bowed and extended his hand to her.
She tilted her head in confusion." This is off."
She was picked up and carried to the palace. At the same time, Thor and the young heroes were taken as well. Unlike them, she was not locked up, but allowed to be free.
Once inside the throne room, the giant set her down and sitting on the throne was Loki, her father. He at first had a creepy demeanor. But he looked curious at her.
"You look familiar," he said.
"Strange statement sense this is the first time you met me."
"You remind me of a woman I knew," said Loki.
"That is not important, Loki!" Thor shouted. "Your fight is with me!"
Loki laughed at Thor's appearance. "And here I thought your pride would make you into a toad or something."
"He was a frog. It was bothersome so I changed him into a cat." Marissa remarked. "As your statement I must clarify something before we begin this… I am your daughter."
Loki looked shocked. "I….. I have a daughter?" He asked.
"She is most certainly yours. That much is clear," said Thor. And a giant threw a yarn ball across the room. "Mine!"
Loki laughed at his cat brother. And then he looked at his new found daughter. "If you could humiliate Thor in such a way, you are surely a worthy heir to the throne of Asgard. Care to join in?"
Thor stopped playing with the yarn and looked at Marissa. "Do not be tempted, child!"
"Honestly I wasn't. I like pranking the people on Earth."
"That's a relief," said Spider Man with a sigh.
"Is it though?" Nova asked.
"I mean I could prank him right now he annoys me." She pointed to Nova. "And don't get me wrong I'd love to be with you, father, but being an heir to a throne is so boring. There are so many people on Earth that are so fun you could have fun too if you stopped this."
Loki looked like he was pondering it, and then he said in a mischievous tone, "I'm sorry, but I'm having fun as it is. Though I'll ponder your suggestion…… if your uncle and his pets here can stop the Frost Giants before they make your grandfather's sleep….. permanent."
"How about we make a deal instead father?" She suggested. With a smirk. "I bet they can stop you and even get you to turn your brother back and if they do you have to live on earth with me and mother for 7 years and your ability will be weakened to the point you can only do pranks that won't harm or kill."
Loki smirked at his daughter and said, "Well played, my little princess. And if they fail, you will start training to be the future ruler after graduation."
"And I'll live with you until then as well. Figure making it fair would help...deal." She held out a hand.
Loki extended his own hand and shook hers. Their hands glowed, a sign that the deal was sealed. After parting, he looked at Thor and said, "Take your charges and prepare. Once you are properly equipped, you shall return. But don't take too long. The doors won't hold forever."
"I know just where to go," said Thor as he spun his hammer.
Marissa took a seat.
"Is she not coming?" Nova asked.
"It's unfair for me to interfere. The bet was you would do this, not I. So you better do well otherwise my grandfather will be dead and I will be staying with Loki for quite awhile."
"Okay," said Ava. "We'll win and you're coming back with us."
On that note, Thor and the rest took off. Marissa was left alone with her father. Loki turned her attention away from the Frost Giants trying to break down the door and to the dining table.
"Why don't we use this time to get to know each other?" Loki suggested as he sat down. "We're going to be living together no matter the outcome, so we should start bonding."
"Sounds interesting. My mother named me Marissa. And I enjoy candy, tea, and pranks."
"It's nice to meet you, my sweet daughter," said Loki. And then he materialized a set of teas. "Choose what you like."
She took the green tea. She poured herself a cup taking a sip. "Very good." She watched the table and made some food appear. "Food, father?"
"Oh. Thank you, sweetie," said Loki as he took a sandwich. "Mmm. Very good. You've gotten very good with your powers already. I could help you further master them, seeing as we're going to end up living together."
"Hopefully in Midgard," said Marissa while eating.
"Asgard can be nice too," said Loki while trying a spoon full of macaroni and cheese. "That being said, this could really go either way."
"Honestly it's fun. The whole death thing is kinda bad. But the bet makes it so much less morbid." She smiled while eating her steak.
"Looks like the Giants are nearly through," said Loki while buttering a roll.
The doors broke down. And then Cat Thor appeared with the other heroes. Four of them had new weapons, but not Spider Man.
"Well, duty calls," said Loki as he stood up. "Enjoy your lunch and the show."
"I will." She took another bite.
"Could you save me some of that steak?" Loki asked before preparing to fight his brother.
"Sure."
The Frost Giants charged the group. White Tiger used a bow and fired energy arrows at the Giants, Nova swung a halberd at a few, while Iron Fist fought off one with a short sword and Power Man used an battle axe to make a tremor that knocked everyone over, including Loki. Marissa easily saved the food. Spider Man took command and led the charge along with Thor.
Thor hovered in the air and declared to Loki, "Brother, prepare to face the wrath of the cat of thunder!"
"Thundercat, ho!" Nova shouted. He was met by chirping and stares from both sides of the fight. "You know, Thundercats. It's a cartoon. Get it?"
"That was pretty bad," said Iron Fist.
"Seriously? Only Spidey can make puns?" Nova asked in annoyance. And then the halberd became heavier and he fell to the floor. "What the hell?!"
Marissa snickered and Loki gave her an approving nod; this did not count as taking part.
Once Loki prepared to attack, Thor tried to intervene. Unfortunately, Loki used the rune stone to knock him back. Spider Man blocked the doorway with webs.
"You really wanna win like this?" He asked. "No one will actually believe you earned the throne. You couldn't even finish off Thor, who's a cat right now."
This annoyed Loki a great deal. So much so that he completely forgot about the deal he made. So he turned Thor back into his true form. This allowed Thor to destroy the rune stone.
"A trickster actually got tricked, by a mortal," he said in shock as the Giants fled. He looked at Marissa, who was smiling. "I believe I know what comes next."
He felt his hands glow and two bracelets formed on his wrist. "A deal's a deal. You'll be living on Earth for 7 years.
"And your powers shall be limited. No serious harm or death," said Thor. "So sayeth the God of Thunder."
"I got the message, Thor. Don't make it so dramatic," said Loki in annoyance. And then he looked at Marissa. "I had no idea my flesh and blood could be so….. devious! I'm so proud of you, Marissa." He hugged her as he finished his statement. "You have potential to be an amazing trickster."
"My hands are still trapped under this halberd!" Nova shouted. "Marissa, can't you make it lighter?!"
She smirked and she made it heavier.
"I hate this girl!" Nova shouted. And then he heard a tearing sound. "Was that my pants?"
Marissa took a picture. "And send."
Everyone got the picture and laughed. Needless to say, Nova was not living this down any time soon.
"I'll get you all home right away," said Thor. He gave Loki a cold look. "You, brother, I will be generous to grant you time to get your affairs in order."
"I'm just gonna pack a few things from home. I'll be right behind you, Marissa," said Loki. And then he went to his room.
-Earth; a few minutes later-
Everyone turned up back in the museum, Nova with bandages on his hands. Loki had only two bags with him and he was in civilian attire.
"Till we meet again, friends," said Thor. "Asgard will sing praises of your heroic deeds."
"Personally, I'd settle for a t-shirt. Or those weapons," said Spider Man.
"The dwarves will keep the weapons safe in case they are needed again. But perhaps this will suffice," Thor said as he opened a portal. "A traditional gift for heroes on Asgard."
A two headed goat came out of the portal.
"Cool!" Spider Man said. "But how do we share this as a team?"
"You can have it," said Power Man.
"All yours," said Nova.
"Sweet," Spider Man said. He reached out to pet the goat, but one of the heads bit his hand. "Ow!"
At home.
Marissa's mother, Apate, was checking dinner when she heard the door open. She went to greet her daughter and was surprised to see who was with her.
"Loki?" She said in surprise.
"Hello, Apate," he said. "I was just trying to outdo my brother when I met our little girl. She and I made a bet, and I lost, so…. Here I am, for the next seven years."
Apate was still surprised. And then she looked at Marissa and said, "You are such a clever girl."
"Thanks, mom," said Marissa.
"So, where shall I go to unpack?" Loki asked.
"Since we're living together, how about taking personal items to the bedroom?" Apate suggested. "Other things can go pretty much anywhere."
"Alright," said Loki as he brought in his bags.
"Having both your parents in the same house is kinda nice." Marissa smiled then she realised something. "I might need a new school again."
"Why? You're fitting in great," Apate said with a smile as she helped Loki unpack.
"Add that to the fact that an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the principal," said Loki. "They will want to keep you close as you just proved to be a valuable asset."
"Wow I feel so subjected here." She remarked, laughing a little. She was worried about the pranks but it was a later issue.
With Fury and the avengers
"I have concerns about my niece," said Thor. "Marissa, as she is called, loves tricks as much as her father, Loki. I worry she will be tempted to become like him."
"That's not a guarantee," said Tony Stark.
"I agree," said Black Widow. "If you recall, I was far from a role model when Fury met me."
"Like a great role model." A voice remarked. They all looked, it was Loki.
"How did you get in here?" Tony asked.
"I have my ways," Loki said in amusement. "My powers may be limited, but not so limited I can not pull stunts such as this."
"What do you want?" Fury asked.
"Dad's here to work on himself." A female voice and Marissa was behind him. "Plus you guys are talking about me."
"And why should we trust the one who has tried to usurp the throne of Asgard numerous times?" Thor asked.
She gestured to the cuffs.
"I couldn't usurp it now if I wanted to," Loki said. He gave Thor a snack bag. "A peace offering."
"His powers are limited to a point he can not harm but that doesn't mean he can't help."
"Oh really?" Thor asked while trying the treats. "Odd texture for cookies."
"I can make it even more light so he can only harm those who do harm to others." Marissa remarked.
"Also, Thor, that's Meow Mix. Cat food," said Captain America.
Thor immediately froze. Loki laughed as Thor spit in disgust. His expressions were so funny that some of the others started taking pictures.
"And pranks that don't harm are also something he can do since it's not against the rules."
"So you're suggesting we let him work with S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Hawkeye asked.
"If you wanna keep an eye on him, sure. But he is going to be living here for 7 years and you'll know where he lives." She waves her hand in the air as tiny cameras fall onto the ground. "Ps you need to hide these better."
Everyone stared in shock. How had she found all of those cameras so quickly? It took Peter Parker weeks to locate one.
"Let me make things clear," said Loki. "I'm willing to lend a hand if you ask me. All I ask in return is to live a day to day life with my family. And that includes my daughter attending school wherever she wishes and not just one with an agent on staff."
Fury growled in annoyance and said, "Okay, fine. So, Marissa, do you have a preference where you wanna go to school?"
"I'm fine with the one I'm at."
"Then Midtown High it is," Coulson immediately said with a smile. "But if I find evidence of your pranks, you'll find yourself in detention."
"Good luck with that," said Loki.
She smirked evilly. "Hum it would look very bad if you put me in detention for pranks that have no proof I personally did it. Oh unless you'd like to tell all the students I'm magic."
Coulson groaned and said, "Like I said, no punishment without proof."
"You'll forgive me if I'm weary about your intentions, brother," said Thor to Loki.
"I don't know, he might make a pretty good Avenger," said Tony. Everyone gave him odd looks. "What? Rather have him as an ally than an enemy."
"You are a genius," said Loki. "If you need me, you know where to look."
"My dads so cool. Ps I turned all your weapons into gum." Marissa said walking off and teleporting away.
Everyone checked their weapons carefully to make sure. It was confirmed when Hawkeye removed an arrowhead and Tony popped it into his mouth.
"Mmm. Cherry," he said.
"This is gonna take some getting used to," said Coulson.
"Never a dull moment," said Black Widow with a smile.
"I'm so proud of her." Loki said with a smile.
"You would be," Thor said in annoyance. He then held up his gum hammer. "And how did she swap my hammer? She can't even lift it."
"Actually she can." Loki remarked.
"How can someone who takes after you be worthy of my hammer?" Thor asked.
"Her blood doesn't make her a bad person," said Captain America while removing the gum shield. "She's probably got some quality that makes her worthy."
"Like convincing me to turn over a new leaf." Loki smirked.
"Loki, if you think we're gonna trust that, you really are insane," said Hawkeye. "Cap, help me look for everything."
The moment they said that they all disappeared.
-Marissa's home-
"Mom, you'll need some extra plates." Marissa smiled.
"Who did you invite?" Apate asked as she took a break from cooking dinner. And then saw Nick Fury, Phil Coulson, and the Avengers.
"Teleported, invited, same dif. I'm gonna be so powerful when I'm older."
Apate smiled and shook her head. "That's my daughter."
"You sound surprised," said Loki.
"I'm not," said Apate. "Just a quick rule for guests: No fighting."
"Captain's honor," said Captain America while saluting.
"Part demigod and Asgardian works so well together." Marissa smiled.
"Well said, my trickster," said Loki with pride.
She played with the hammer in one hand. Thor panicked when he saw her doing that.
"Careful! That's not a toy!" Thor screamed.
"In the right hands anything can be a toy." She handed it to him. "Now that this is my home turf-pun intended-we get to really talk."
"Not sure what else needs covering, but okay," said Black Widow as she sat down.
"Was there something we missed on the Helicarrier?" Fury asked.
She smiled. "Well trusting my father for one."
"Given past situations, I think it's understandable," said Thor as Apate placed the plates on the table with levitation magic.
"Have I really been that terrible?" Loki asked.
"So we're glossing over the Asgard thing from today?" Coulson asked while Apate poured the drinks with the same magic. And then the pitcher poured juice on Coulson's pants. "Hey!"
"Oops," Apate said, laughing. She then filled his glass. "Sorry, principal Coulson. I can bring you a pair of my sweatpants and wash those if you want."
"I think I'm good," said Coulson.
"Suit yourself," said Apate. "So, commander Fury, what's with the paranoia?"
Fury sighed and said, "It's how we roll. Hope for the best, plan for the worst."
"If you say so," said Apate. "However, I trust Loki completely. And you should too. Or at least leave him and us to live a regular life without spying."
Fury finally seemed to understand. "Okay. We'll leave you all alone. And if we need your help, we'll give you a call."
"That sounds better," said Loki, smiling. "How does that sound to you, Marissa?"
"I'll accept it."
"Good," said Apate. And then she used her levitation magic to bring in the dinner. "Enjoy the meal."
Thor took a bite and said, "This is very delicious, Ms. Apate."
"Thank you, Thor," said Apate, smiling.
"You're a really good cook," said Tony.
"Thanks, Mr. Stark," Apate happily said. "I've been giving Marissa lessons as well. I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up making a whole feast the next time the family from Asgard visits."
"I do hope father finds the time to meet his granddaughter," said Loki as he enjoyed the dinner. And then he stood up. "And I think it's best to make our family more official."
"How do you mean?" Apate curiously asked.
Loki smiled as he took her hand and got down on one knee. "Apate, will you marry me?"
Apate's eyes lit up. "Yes!" She happily said as she hugged him.
Loki immediately took out a ring and placed it on her finger. A few of the guests were stunned, including Thor, but the others clapped for the couple. Marissa hugged her parents.
"Congratulations," she said.
Loki and Apate hugged her back and Apate said, "We'll start planning tomorrow."
Thor was still stunned when Tony patted him on the back. "Great for Loki, right Thor? Thor?"
Loki smiled and said, "Feel free to bring that lady friend of yours. What's her name again? Jane?"
Thor shook himself back to reality and said, "Yes. That is her name; Dr. Jane Foster. A scientist."
"That's wonderful. I look forward to meeting her," said Apate.
From there, everyone continued eating their dinner. Afterwards, they all thanked Apate for the meal and went home. The one thing Thor was still curious about was the fact that Marissa could hold his hammer; very few could hold it, including himself and Odin.
