Chapter 15

When Alina, Aleksander and Mal got back to the lodging, one of the guards came and pulled Aleksander away. He smiled at Alina and she nodded to say it was okay. Mal took her arm and lead her to the dining room, "Hungry?" he asked her.

Alina sighed and smiled, "Always"

They went to the bar, ordered food and went and sat down, "I'm glad to see you finally happy Alina" Mal spoke quietly

"He is my soul mate Mal, there is a connection that I have never felt with anyone else, even you I'm sorry"

'Don't be Alina we have been thru this beside I will be the fun uncle to these two rascal (he pointed at her belly) when they are born" Mal smile Alina rolled her eyes

The cook dropped the food off at the table stopping the conversation, Aina was so starving she launched into her food. Mal just look shocked he never seen her eat so quickly but then he decided he was hungry to and started to eat. Soon the whole dinning room we filled with people again and Alina went to join Nina and Inez and Mal joined Kaz, Jesper, Mathias and a few male grisha guards that were there.

Alina was talking to the girls as they had been clued in the General's plan, Alina wanted their opinion on the politics of court work and what the people of Ravka actually needed. Nina who had been around court and the people had informed Alina that if they were to win the revolution they would need to care more, the people knew the Royal family cared for their parties and little for the common people. They were over the wars hearing death of love ones no matter who they were, over seeing their children taken from them to join the army. The people wanted a better life no more criminals and murders roaming and controlling villages or cities, no more poor being homeless or living in run down accommodation

Inez agreed she also told Alina about children been taken and sold into slavery or worse, she was hoping that Alina and the General's power would reach further to pressure other countries to come into line. Alina listen and was also shocked she thought by what Aleksander had told her was only the Grisha that were treated badly, she didn't know about the slavery. It made her upset and vow to be better if they win the war.

The boys table made a roar scaring the girls, the girls turned to see Mathias throwing card into the middle and swearing in Fjedran and the men laughing. Nina and Inez got up and saw Alina hadn't, "did you not want to join the boys?" Nina asked

Alina looked at the door where Aleksander was hold up and she looked back at the girls, " No I'm tired and if we are leaving early I would like some sleep" she smiled.

Nina and Inez nodded and went and sat with the guys and Alina walked to hers and Aleksander's room. She was hoping they would have been able to have dinner and a nice night alone together before they spent the next 3 weeks on a small boat, but she also realised this could be their life been pulled in different direction. That thought stopped her at the top of the stairs Alina would have to talk to Aleksander to make sure they would work out times to spend together if they were to win the war and lead the people.

Alina walked in the room she looked around and was surprised at what she saw, Aleksander was sitting on the bed with candles lit up around the room, blue iris in a jar on the table with dessert sitting there. Tear sprang in her eyes and her hand went up to her mouth as she sobbed, Aleksander stood up quickly and hugged, "I'm sorry my love I didn't mean to upset"

She looked up into his eyes and reached up then kissed when she needed air she parted his lips.

"No Aleksander this is wonderful thank you"

"I'm sorry I got dragged away it's our wedding night I hope this makes up for not having dinner" as he took her hand and lead her to the table.

She smiled as he helped her sit down at the table, Aleksander kneeled in front of his wife, slowly lifting her dress up passed her knees. Alina thought he would stopped when he reached her core she was starting to breath slightly heavier but he pushed her dress up so he could see her bump. He placed both hands on either side of her bump and kissed her stomach, Alina ran her hand through his hair. Once he had finished kissing her stomach he leaned his forehead on her bump, " I never thought I would have this Alina, so thank you for our miracles. And I promise you this Alina if things go our way and we win the war I know our life will be even busier, but you must know I will make sure that we set time of us and our famiy"

Alina put her hand over her heart and tears were coming down "I was thinking the same as I was coming up the stairs"

"Alina hopeful I can learn from my mother mistakes and be the best husband and father I can be and hopefully we will be safer than what we were."

"I didn't have a proper family just Mal, so we can learn and grow together in this marriage" Alina smiled at him and he kissed her.

When they came up for air Aleksander got up and made her a plate of food to eat and soon as it was on the table she started to eat. He grabbed himself some desert for himself to eat as he missed dinner and was very hungry. Alina finished her food first she got up, kissed her husband on his forehead, got changed and went and lie down on the bed.

By the time Aleksander had finished his food he turned around and his wife was asleep, she was on her side and both hands were cradling her bump. It took his breath away she was so beautiful in that moment he was staring for a little bit then he smiled, he knew now he would never be alone. He never truly knew what happen to his father it was him and Baghra as far as he could remember, she was cold and forced them to move every few month. She always told him not to trust, never to let people know who he truly was.

The only time he did the other Grisha children tried to kill him and his mother kept repeating "I told you so"

He let Luda in she was a good soul but then she died by the Kings guard and after that he was controlled by emotion. He created the fold and had spent centuries after that trying to protect his people anyway he could. He was hoping when the sun summoner arrive she would be a child someone he could mould, control, and be at his side when was needed.

Alina was a surprise the first thought of her was that she was beautiful even bloody and beaten, she was older than he expected and he felt his heart beat hard which had never happen previously. He knew she would be dangerous she would have opinions or not understand what she truly face so he decide to take a step away from her. But after awhile he couldn't do it, he needed her like air and when she came to him in his war room he opened up to her. He realised then he was a goner but then things got out of hand.

He got up and walked to the bed he bent down and gave her a kiss on the forehead, Aleksander then took his jacket, shoes and shirt off and got into bed with her. He curled up around her placing his hand on her bump kissed her neck and fell asleep.

The next morning Alina woke up and the sun was just peaking thru the windows, she turned her head to see her husband fast asleep behind her. She realised she had fallen asleep on their wedding night before the consummated she gasped and woke Aleksander, "Are you okay, the babies" he asked ...

"Yes I'm sorry Aleksander we are fine, I fell asleep on you last night" she started to tear as she turned in his arms.

"Alina" he moved his hand to her cheek wiping the tear away, "I don't care about that only about your health and the babies, you need your sleep. I'm not sure how you will be on the way back"

"I was sick over" replied Alina

"Just morning sickness or all day" he asked concerned

"It was all over and I didn't really sleep"

He kissed her forehead, " Then sleep you need it and hopefully being in the captains room you will be more stable.."

"I told Patty about my trip over and she said she was going to get a few more herbs to help me survive the trip"

"Good and when we are home I will give you a proper wedding night in a comfortable bed with more romance" Aleksander said moving his hand off her cheek and down to her back to sooth her back to sleep.

A few minutes later Alina was a asleep and smiling.

The next time Alina woke up she looked around and got scared l, then she felt him and calmed down, she turned as Aleksander sat down.

"where are we?" she asked

Aleksander started to drag his hand thru her hair, "we are on the boat have been for about 4 hours now"

Alina was shocked and sat up quickly realising she shouldn't have done that, Aleksander knew the face and grabbed her a bucket so she could be sick.

Patty walked in, "oh good she is awake, I have brought food (then Patty saw Alina being sick) oh, I have some herbs here to settle her stomach"

The next few days they made sure Alina had food ready to eat when she awoke as the boat trip was making her ill.
