Hanna noticed that Caleb didn't wake up for breakfast. She went to check on him.
'Hey, you okay?' She asked.
'Groan. Not really.' He replied.
She took his temperature, it was 101.
'Oof. Looks like you'll be staying home today.'
'Aw nuts. I hate staying home sick.'
'Would you rather go to work and likely pass out in front of everyone? I went to school once when I was sick, and I almost passed out in the hallway. It won't be so bad, I'll be here too.' Hanna said.
Later that day
'You have got to be 1 of the worst patients I've ever dealt with. Hanna said, after Caleb wouldn't go back to bed.
'I've been taking care of myself for a lot longer then we've been together. I know my body. I don't need to overeat or try to force myself to eat when I'm clearly not hungry, and I don't need to be on 24 hour bed rest! Try to lighten up!' Caleb replied.
'I'm trying to take care of you! We're married! It's what married couples do!'
'Well, it feels like you're smothering me, or being too bossy. I know you mean well, but remember, I've been on my own a lot, I can handle myself on a few things, like fevers.'
Silence.
'You're right. I'm sorry. I don't handle people I know of getting sick well. Makes me worry I might lose them. Even when it's just a light fever. Something tells me that I might turn into 1 of those overprotective moms who completely freak out over everything. (chuckle).' Hanna said.
Holding her hand. 'You're going to be a great mom! And, you can stand to lighten up a bit on a few thing.' Caleb responded.
'That's for sure.'
