Chapter 21
Alina stormed out of the cafe and made her way back to the podium, with the men following.
"Oh our little Sun summoner has returned does she think.."
"Shut up Baghra" Alina snarled at Baghra who is leaning Ivan who is staring Alina down
"Well I see you found another amplifier, good work boy" Baghra turned at spat at Mal
Mal raised his eyes as Alina turned she smirked at Mal and turned back to Baghra
"Mal and the General helped me with the 2nd amplifier. Now out of my way I need to stop this before anyone else get hurt" Alins said and stormed pass the two. Mal follow and so did Enkh-Amgalan
Freydor took 2 steps forward, "I know you both don't like her but she said General so I'm guessing her plans are in line with his" and with that Freydor followed the others.
"I hate her" Ivan spats
"She makes the General weak" Baghra replies and Ivan nodded
Mal walked up closer to Alina, "Nice to see you stand up to her"
"Baghra is Aleksander mum and she is mean" Alina shaked her head
"Yes she is" Mal replied as Baghra had been cruel to him when they first met.
Alina kept walking to where the fighting as they were getting closer she could see people pushing each other and she tried to walk around, Mal helped to separate them so Alina could walk thru.
"We have to stop this" Alina said not knowing if anyone else could hear her as she got to the podium she ran up the stairs quickly to view the damage. Guards and the common people where fighting and no one was really getting the upper hand, Alina didn't want anymore people to be hurt.
She wish she had Aleksander's powers so she could cover everyone in darkness to shock them, she turned to see Baghra had come up to the podium, giving her a the normal stare. Then she had a thought and started to make her orbs and sent them up into the air and set them off like fireworks. Slowly the crowd stop fighting watching the fireworks.
Once Alina could see that ever one had stopped she shouted out, "People of Ravka who are here today I call for peace, we do not need a civil war. Thank for those who protected the Grisha and I thank the Grisha for protecting the common man and women. Now we need to look to the future the King is dead and his son has run off. We need to build a better Ravka and whilst we have the delegate's here we should still negotiate..."
"I will not negotiate with a Grisha whore" one of the Fjedran delegate's shouted as he walked from where he was hiding.
"She is a Saint, a living Saint and she should be a Tsarina" someone shouted from the crowd. Those who were in front turned to see who had spoken up and Alina, Mal and Freydor were shocked. The Apparat walked from where he was toward the podium he then took a turn so he could go to the side and walk up the podium.
When he got up to the podium he bowed to Alina, "The world has been waiting for the arrival of the Sun Summoner the person who would change the world. She will destroy the fold, she will bring peace for our country and lead us into the future so I vote for Alina, our Sun Summoner to be our leader, Long live the Tsarina"
Everyone started clapping and shouting out "Huzar, Tsarina Alina"
Alina looked out to the crowd then turned her head to the Apparat, "There is another who is destined for the crown"
"He is a bastard, my Tsarina not a suitable candidate" the Apparat replied.
Alina waved at the crowd, "You will not control me old man" she snarled at him then walked to the Fjedran delegate.
"If you do not want to negotiate with me will negotiate with other on my council who are not witches?" Alina asked the man
"No because you would have influence" he spat
Mal walked up to the man, "So you think I have no opinion of my own mate, do you not think that maybe someone like me could influence the Tsarina for better outcome." Mal replied, "beside your people were losing land to us a few weeks ago and I'm sure that has changed"
A Shu han delegate step forward, "None of us can afford these wars anymore, we should all sit down and start again with negotiate"
"We want Grisha witches to die" the Fjedran said
"but it won't stop them from being born they will never become extinct, the Grisha will always be part of life" the Shu han delegate replied
"okay" the Fjedran sulked.
Alina walked away with Mal to Fredyor, "I'm guessing we will need a carriage to go to the castle and deal with, can you please help?"
"Yes Tsarina" Fredyor bowed and walked away
"Please dont" Alina shouted Fredyor turned around smiled and kept going
"Sorry Alina, I meant Tsarina" Mal laughed.
She turned gave him a dirty look and replied, "I will smack you later" then she looked down at her bump.
"I wish he was here" Alina sighed sadly.
"Can you connect to him?"
"I did a couple of days ago but nothing since something is blocking the connection" Alina smiled sadly.
"well you know he isn't dead"
"and he said he was coming for me but where is he Alina" started to tear up
"don't show emotion you are Queen and we have work to do. When you are alone back at the Palace then you can cry ill even be there for you" Mal came up closer to her.
Alina looked at the crowd of people they were no longer watching but helping clean up and get the injured healed, she nodded at Mal on his comment and headed down the stairs to see how Freydor was going.
As soon as she was down Alina saw Freydor with a carriage and Genya next to him with David, "Are you 2 okay?" she asked the later.
Genya spoke up, "Yes Tsarina (and smirked)"
"No Genya you are my friend"
"even so out in public I should still respect you" Genya bowed
"Enough of this" Ivan angrily states, "we need to get back to the Grand palace and deposed the last Tsarina and her guards if you want to rule"
"okay we will need a plan" Alina states, Mal with more experience started to give his opinion as much as Ivan hated the boy he agreed and helped with getting the extra bodies to help.
Thirty minutes later those who were going to help take over the Palace were in carriages/carts or on horses. Alina was with Genya, Baghra and Freydor in one of the carriage, Alina and Genya spoke quietly, Baghra was just giving them a dirty look and Freydor was watching outside of the carriage.
When they got to the castle the carriage stopped "Alina" Mal says, " You need to come out"
Freydor opens the carriage door and gets out then turns to help Alina out then they both look at what was pointing at the castle gates wide open and the guard kneeled.
Alina started to walk pass the horse that were in front and could see more guard at the front of the castle kneeling with the previous Tsarina.
"walk with me Mal and Freydor the others can follow, but be wary this could be a trap or it could be the Tsarina surrendering"
Both gentlemen nodded and the walked just a little behind whilst Alina walked toward the Queen. It was a 100 metre walk and when Alina got to the Tsarina she bowed, "the castle is yours my Sun summoner, Tsarina of Ravka"
"Thank you Queen Tatiana, but why surrender so quickly?"
"My husband Petyre was a bad man and did not deserve to be King, he did not care for the people, did not care for the wars and did not care for the Grisha. He raped many women whilst King and shun a son that was actually his regardless of what others say, I have never strayed. I, in the beginning tried to make things better but I am just a women he told me I should have no opinion and keep my legs open. He hit me when I tried to fight but after awhile I gave up, I have made my own mistakes by trying to protect myself. I hoping that you are here to end the Lanstov reign"
"Do you not believe either your sons .."
"Vasiliy is to much like his father and Nikolai has been away to long, I sent him away for his protection. I don't think he would wanted it."
"But if it was offered?"
"and if he says yes I hope he has better council and cares about Ravka. But if he says no I believe you would do better, be better then us queens before"
"And what about yourself Tatiana what would you like to happen to you?"
"I would like to return to my family home, Nikolai will be welcome there. But Vasiliy I heard he kidnapped you and he has done bad things that his father has allowed him to get away with, I accept that he will need to be punished."
"Tatiana I will give you time to pack up things so you can leave for family home, and the guards?"
"I would like to take a few with me for protection and but the rest will do as you ask my Tsarina "
"Thank you " Alina replied
One of the Grisha guards helped Tatiana up and escorted her to her rooms to help with the clean up.
Alina walked into the Palace with the guards, she turn to their leader, "Can I ask for your name?" Alina asked
"Frederick, .." Alina held up her hand, "Sun Summoner my family has served the Royal family for centuries, the last few have been unacceptable. If the people have made you our Tsarina we are happy to accept"
"Frederick I was going to ask you .. (Alina turning more toward the other men) okay Gentleman I understand that I may not be your choice but give the chance are you happy to serve under me if not I am happy for you to return to your family with no consequences"
Frederick looked at his other guards then they all bowed, "we are happy to serve my Tsarina"
"And what do you think of General Kirigan?"
Another guard piped up, "my name is Vladimir your highness and the General we trust. He was a good man and even if
"Thank you, now can some of you collect the maids, cleaning and kitchen staff. As I would like to give them the options to"
Frederick bowed and several of the men left, another came up and asked if she would like to be lead to the thrown room, Alina smiled and accepted. Mal and Freydor followed smiling in silence. Within 30 minutes everyone was in the throne room accept Alina as their new Tsarina, she thought a few would have left but no they all had smiles on their faces.
Alina then called a war room meeting she even ask Freydor to beg Ivan to join as he knew most of the General plans. Mal step up to her once everyone was dismissed to find the council, "do you think you maybe over doing it?" looking at her stomach
"after this I will rest at the little Palace but I need to get this last part done for us. He would be doing this if he was here"
"I love you but you are more important plus the..."
"Can you organise some food so I can eat during the meeting. I will tell you if I need anything else please Mal"
"You better Alina" Mal stared at her
Alina was able to start eating whilst she waited for the last of the council members turned up the last being the Apparat.
"Gentleman" Alina said as she stood up, "welcome to a new era, now he reason why I called you all in was to see if you wanted to stay or leave. If you leave there will be no consequences and I don't need explanation."
There were 10 men who were part of the last council and 5 of them stood up bowed and walked out.
"Fair enough for the rest of you will you follow my lead and the General?"
"My Tsarina we will until you marry then the General will have to step down" the Apparat piped up
Alina scoffed, "I will not be dictated to about marriage"
"My Tsarina as a women you must marry and produce heirs, not rule a country even thou you will be it saviour"
"So why vote me as Tsarina if you were going to marry me off" Alina raised her voice
"well marriage to a Fjedran prince or a Shu han princess would help with the negotiations"
Some of the other men were shaking their heads at the suggestions
"Looking at the rest you don't agree with that comment"
The men replied with "No"
"Do I even get to choose Apparat?"
"No my Queen the council should decide, however if you do not want to do that we could over throw you as their is another"
All of a sudden the door opens, "No I decline the offer"
