4th Story: Valhalla Rising
Part II: From Queen to Queen
Korat Archipelago, South Norvak Island 5, Kumear-Forces Provisional Head-Quarter, Tereza´s Pov:
The Aura of a real, true Queen, the Queen of Queens….
Surely the last thing I expected to find, as I entered the Head-Quarter of the Kumear Forces, aka the Chieftains´ Tent.
The presence of that Woman, who sat in the sixth seat, was nearly touchable, her Aura seemed to surround her like a light shimmer, a shimmer of jade green force.
Looking at it, I was reminded of something, a detail I had in my memories which I never truly found an answer for.
The green shimmer, like a shockwave of emerald-green, which I saw shortly before Valhalla fell to the plasma sea, the same shimmer I saw back on the Ursa Grande after we managed, somehow, to flee from Bahamut with the damaged Airship, before the same crash-landed on South-Norvak Island 5.
It looked exactly like the Aura of the woman infront of me.
It was the aura of a higher being, a lifeform which had long transcended, what was considered normal for us Kumears.
She had the air of a strong Kumear War-Maiden, the very aspect of it, a female warrior who had fought in many battles and has seen all kinds of justice and injustice.
I was sure that she didn´t wanted to be judged just by her physical appearance, which already was hard to make out here in this dark lit tent…, which made me wonder why they weren´t outside, it was a sunny day after all.
In the curious eyes, which were laid upon myself, scanning me upside-down, I could see a depth like out of this world.
Knowledge which transcended time, which was far beyond anything I could imagine.
The person which sat so casually here in her seat, was a person I myself never in my life expected to ever meet.
Still, same as every little girl on Valhalla, who has ever aspired to become a Valkyrie, I was dreaming of it at some point in my life…
This person before me was a Legend, a Tale and a mystery…, some may even have mused that she was long deceased, it would not have been a wonder if this was true, still, in regards to King Maranell's near eternal life, one should have been aware of the possibility of her own survival.
The young folks may say she had long perished, but here she sat, alive and kicking in the truest sense of these words.
My Body almost automatically and without any resistance, forced me to kneel before her, even though she hadn´t even moved a single finger, or even a single hair of her fur, she needed no words to say, no need to utter a single sound and still, I was certain I would follow her every command.
That was just how much authority this Woman radiated.
"Valhalla ni respa ret elocari no turale Regina (Valhalla hails and welcomes the true Queen)." My mouth stated aloud.
It had been words in the oldest language I knew, Aesir, the oldest language of Arsalande, and it were perhaps the only words, beside of spells, which I knew in that language.
It had been the very words, which the Kumears of Yore once spoke, after their folk was freed from the slavery and tyranny of Donduros Bearfrost, as they welcomed their very first king and later on their rightful rulers.
An ancient dialect, made up from a mix of the forgotten languages of Ancient Armenian, the ancient Canine-Tribes language, and Ancient Arslandia, the first Language of the Folk of the Kumears, spoken to the time of the Eclipse Republic´s Golden age.
Aesir was introduced by Queen Panmora Pandaria and overtaken by Lady Malvina Orion, before it was declared as new National language of the Kingdom of Valhalla, to distance themselves from the Past and leave the last Legacy of the Tyranny behind.
"Il Turale Regina akep da Volva di Loya, ret honar tel ilio (The true Queen accepts your vow of Loyalty and honors the same.) "None other but Queen Panmora Savarin Pandaria, wife of the ancientKing Odrim Ourson Garontrias, stated as she spoke to me.
"Rise my Child and take a seat, you need not to kneel before anyone, not even me, for you too are a queen, though I do appreciate it once in a while, mind you." She spoke to me with a warm and grandmotherly voice and an amused smile on her face, although the woman in front of me, looked in no way older than mid-30.
Though I was well aware that she was likely as old as King Maranell himself, perhaps a little younger.
"Queen Tereza, it is a delight for me, to finally get to know you, the Chieftains of the 4 Tribes have already told me a lot about you and spoke in highest tones from your deeds, but I am eager to hear from yourself, in your own words." She stated as I took the seat assigned to me by one of the maids, which stood by their Queens side waiting for orders.
The same looked like anything I had ever seen before, even though their clothing was definitely based on the Bamboori styled clothes.
"A tea my dear?
It might put your mind at ease a little, as I said you need not to fear anything, you are here under comrades." She explained politely, as she gestured to one of her maids to pour me a cup of freshly brewed Eucalyptus tea.
To be honest it had been an eternity since I last tasted such, Bamboo and Eucalyptus weren´t really common plants here in the Shepherd Republic, though I was at least glad that they still had a variety of fishes here, still I knew that Mayuri surely was missing it as well.
A True Valhallian Noodle house just was not the same, without a piece of Bamboo here and there.
It was hard to raise any of the Valhallian-plants, whose seeds we had found in the Ursa Grande, as if they knew that they were to be planted on foreign soil and refused themselves to sprout here.
"My Queen, may I first have the word for a while?" I asked as I looked at her, even with the tea, as delicious as it was, was there enough going on in my mind, which kept me from feeling at ease at all.
Suddenly it was as if I witnessed everything that happened to Valhalla within a single flash, all the feelings of hopelessness, all the regret I felt, all the shame…. It was pressing down unto my heart as though it tried to crush the same.
My eyes watered and I felt tears threatening to roll down my face.
"Of course, my dear, what seems to pain you?" She asked, placing her tea-cup back on the table, her eyes looked with worry and genuine concern at me, the same eyes my grandmother used to have before she died.
I was unable to keep myself from looking into her eyes, until the moment as the tears started to roll down themselves and I was barely able to contain my emotions any longer.
With all the resolve I had I stood up from the table, walked right infront of her and kneeled down, deeper than ever before, more crouching on all fours, in an apologetic nature, my head on the ground between my paws.
Dogeza is what the Panda-Tribes called this apparently, the highest form of apology to them.
While crouching on the ground, I recognized that someone walked into the tent, as I saw the light of the sun appears and disappear again, most likely Lady Taluvien, she did say that she would come by after checking on her tribe.
I had no confirmation about it, but it didn´t mattered, I had to do this here.
The sharp inhaling of breath was to hear and I felt the curious glances upon me.
"Queen Tereza, why do you…., didn´t I…?" Queen Panmora tried to speak, genuine worry in her voice and maybe also a bit of discomfort, and although I knew how disrespectful it was to interrupt her, I had to say it out loud, I had to make them witness my truthful feelings.
"My Queen, Chieftains of the 4 Kumear-Tribes, I must apologize with outmost respect to your positions and the loss you all surely had to endure.
My Queen, I am most ashamed about what you have to witness, that the proud folk of the Kumears you carefully raised, has diminished in such a way, that so many have died and that the Island you laid in the care of your descendants, my and my Husbands and every previous Chieftain and Royal´s ancestors, has perished and been destroyed, ripped apart and blown into oblivion.
All of it because we, My Husband and I, had been too weak to defend it as we should have, too weak and too inexperienced to defeat the enemy and make him retreat.
My dear Chieftains, I am most ashamed to admit that we weren´t strong enough to save most of our people, our families, yours as well as our own, ashamed to have to tell you that the Land we called our home, the island bestowed upon us by our True Queen´s grace has finally and completely been lost to us.
Not one single stone has remained of the Island Valhalla, the place we called home, the place we raised our families together and honored the Memory and legacy of our Ancestors, it all has vanished within the plasma sea…, our entire culture has almost completely been eradicated.
Queen Panmora, no words can describe how much it shames me to inform you, that the legacy you had left behind has almost completely being lost.
But still, I crouch here before you, begging for forgiveness and a Chance to redo mine and my Husbands past mistakes, to still be allowed to fight by your side, even if you were to deny me as your queen, to make those pay, who stole us almost everything, if you all wish so, I gladly will step down as queen and I bet so will my Husband, once we meet up with him and my daughters." I stated before I fell silent, only the tense breathing of us all was to be heard.
The silence, which suddenly laid itself upon the tent like a thick blanket, almost sounded ear deafening to me, it was strange, a feeling I never once felt before.
Then all of a sudden, a voice began to speak, but it was not the one I hoped to hear right now…., not that it was unwelcomed by me, if anything, it was just as comforting.
"I remember a woman, who fought against Ghouls, who fought against Lycanians and other fiend creatures, to keep countless of people safe and sound, until they reached a secure shelter, she fought to safe countless of lives while risking her own.
I remember a Woman, who stepped in the line of fire to save another pregnant woman, who had stumbled and fell to the ground, hurting her foot, unable to properly stand back up again as they all were attacked by Lycanians.
Although that woman, same as many of the other innocent people, had a magic shield to protect her, did the other woman still not hesitated, to jump right into danger to keep her safe and from any harm.
I remember to see a woman who flew with her husband on a giant Wooden Bird Golem from village to village, defending and evacuating innocent people, farmers, smiths, merchants, old people, young people, families, no matter the profession or the social class…., countless of people who could barely fight for themselves were saved and defended by the woman and her Husband.
I saw the woman shedding tears for her daughters, who had been separated from her and although she would have had all the right to search for them and get them into safety, did she not vanished from our side, but she kept going on, kept us safe until we were in safe shelter ourselves, believing in the force of her daughter´s Guardians, never once straying from our side.
She acted as a Queen should, even in the midst of her own sorrow, pain and fear as a mother.
This woman has been you, Queen Tereza, and after you saved my people in that gruesome night, I told myself, that I will follow you for the rest of my life, even more than before.
This Vow to myself has not changed, even after our home was torn apart and vanished into oblivion.
You still have my Allegiance and that of my Tribe.
I, Almari Blackwood, as well as the Grizzly Tribe, will stand loyal at your side in the coming battles.
This decision has been taken with the mutual consent of all members of my Tribe and Clan and I, as their representative, am here to deliver it to you!" Almari stated with a loud voice and I looked up in shock, looking in her honest eyes.
She wore a smile on her face as she looked at me, as well as genuine relief about something, before she kneeled.
"My Queen…, no Tereza, I will talk to you now from Tribe member to tribe member…, same as Zoren, have I always believed in you and I still hold my faith in you, even if Zoren and your father have meanwhile perished.
You saved me and my wife, as well as a lot of other families, from all tribes…, you kept them all alive and well until they were in safety.
I have to agree with Almari, that the fearlessness, the compassion and the spirit of self-sacrifice you showed on that Night, has greatly astonished me, but not only from that, you have been a great Valkyrie and woman already in the past, kindhearted, loyal, strong, compassionate, virtuous even and truly, truly trustworthy,… even if you knew that you might never see your daughters again that way, you still shielded my Wife from being shot down.
You could have used magic, to create a shield, or even a large rock piercing out of the ground to block the bullets, you could have used any other method for saving your Cousin and my Wife, Yrsa Gelatorias, but you didn´t do that, instead, without a second thought, you defended her with your own body.
If the body-shield would not have worked, or malfunctioned in those few seconds, you could have ended up dead, we all knew that, and that made your actions even more astonishing.
Your courage has greatly inspired me and for the last years I have trained as hard as I could, to even just remotely reach that kind of strength and willpower." Lofi explained and I nodded thankfully with tears of gratitude now streaming down my cheeks, as he too kneeled.
I admit, back then, I really just thought about saving Yrsa, even at the cost of my own life, I didn´t wanted to lose another family member dear to me.
I don´t know how I found the courage to do so though, maybe I thought that sacrificing my own life for my folk and the future of all the children and the mothers-to-be, had to be my duty as queen…, but I guess they were right, thinking about such a thing or even just expecting it of oneself, is something entirely different than truly acting upon that believe.
"I won´t repeat what all the others have already said, after all I am of the same opinion, I know Yrsa personally, even years before the tragedy, as she was an old classmate of mine, back when we studied in the academy of Jormungandr.
If you wouldn´t have saved her back then, Yrsa and Lofi, neither of those two would have ever find together, nor would their own daughter have been born, both Frigga (10) and Mooka (16) having meanwhile raised to fine members of Lofi´s Tribe.
Your Husband, our King, I remember how he, once he returned to see his home in flames, instantly took back the reins, brought order to the Chaos which the Lycanians had unleashed under us.
As the different Tribes were threatened with extinction and each Chieftain tried to safe their own people, he came together with you, to re-ignite our loyalty towards Valhalla itself, not just Crown and Kingdom, tribe and Clan, but to the very people who lived there, to the very families who lived in Valhalla, some having raised out of the love of Members from two different tribes, just like yourself.
He reminded us, that despite of us all being from 4 different tribes, were we all Kumears, Valhalla was the home to all of us, and as its inhabitants we had a duty to stand together to defend the same, or to at least save anyone we can, regardless of what Clan or Tribe we originally came from.
I remember that your father once said that Valhalla is everywhere where our folk lives, it is not bound by rock nor tree, not divided between an icy Glacier or a rock-hard Mountain, not differed as a rich green meadow or a dusty and wide tundra.
If we would decide, the very meadow we are now standing upon could be our new Valhalla, purely hypothetically spoken of course.
And I am most certain that I speak for mine as well as all the other tribes, that we will keep on following you and your Husband, and we surely will find a way to build up a new Valhalla, a Place in which our all children can grow.
For this and for the future generations, whose path has been preserved through your actions, I kneel before you in outmost gratitude." Bantora explained as he indeed stood up just to kneel before me, same as the other 2 Leaders.
"I think it is unnecessary for me to make such a grand speech as all the others, for you know very well how my folk stands to you and your Husband, naturally will the Panda-Tribe of Valhalla follow you my Queen, trough fire and storm, through life and death, to Hell and back." I heard Lady Taluvien´s voice stating as she arrived through the entrance of the tent and just like all the others she too kneeled before me as I was helped back up by Queen Panmora, before the same took me in a motherly embrace and as embarrassing as it might sound to you, as I am a grow woman with kids of my own, I truly bawled my eyes out on her shoulder.
As I looked around more clearly, I recognized that the woman I had mistaken for Lady Taluvien earlier, as I thought she would have arrived, apparently had been another retainer of Queen Panmora, one of four maids that attended to her, but I could feel that there was more to them than being simple maids, the power they radiated was on par with the Einherjar in this room, if I wouldn´t know it any better, I would say that they are the Queens Life-guards and although they weren´t even mine to command, did they kneel down as well.
My mind was in awe and joy, but even more so in pure relief about their kind words and their faith in me and my Husband.
"There you see it Queen Tereza, your folk still stands to you, just as loyal as before this tragedy ever happened.
All of you had fought in the War of Sun and Moon, one each of you had saved a lot of lives back then, not just that of the Kumear Folks but also the life of other Folks, even though the fate of your own stood in the stars as well.
No Queen Tereza, the teachings, the legacy I have left behind still burns as bright as it has, back then as I stepped down as Queen, after King Odrim, my late husband, died.
I´ve been observing Valhalla for quite a while before that Tragedy and I can say that I never was disappointed in the way Valhalla has been ruled ever since, which is evident in me never having a need to openly visit the same.
I occasionally visited the different tribes when I was under disguise and I must say that I always felt myself at home, no matter where I was, I rarely ever felt that something was out of place there.
Earlier as well, as you arrived with all these different people, kidnapped by the Lycanians, it once again showed me your true character.
You know, earlier, I had a little talk with some of them, even the children…, and I heard some interesting things from them.
In order to save the Children, you showed fantastic strategic prowess as well as fighting capabilities, you kept everyone of them safe, until you reached your home, none of them belonged to your folk or even the Kumear Race and yet you saved every one of them indiscriminately.
So dry your tears, hold your head up high and banish every negative though out of your mind, for you are loved and so you shall stay.
The Folk of Valhalla remains as strong as it always has been, even if the Island itself has been lost and then, now and hopefully forever, it still recognizes you as its Queen.
And at that point it is myself who has to ask for your forgiveness, as I was too late to react, if I had been notified earlier about the attack, I might could have launched a Counter-attack with my own army, but all I still could do back then, was to open up numerous Small gates to bring all the Kumear which had hidden and were still alive into my own dimension, my own Realm ever since 13.000 years, the Geaya Republic.
Even on the ship I did my best to get as many in safety as I could, but since opening so many portals at once takes a lot of strain on my body and mental health, was I unable to reach for everyone before falling unconscious, which closed the gates forcefully.
But still, I was at least able to safe nearly all remaining 30.000 Kumears of Valhalla that way, so the operation was a major success.
Then again, I laid in coma for about 3 days, the strain was just too great, but I too could not give up on trying to save as many as I could." Queen Panmora explained and I was buff.
30.000 People…, compared to her it was as though I did nothing.
"Don´t you dare thinking such a stupid thing, Queen Tereza." The Queen´s Voice commented harshly and I shrieked back, did I talked out loud or did she read my mind?
"I had the force and the skill to use this Gate spell, a spell which my own Master, Shiro Melizera, or King White Savage the 1st for you, personally taught me and which I trained and evolved as best as I could in all those millennia.
You on the other hand, back then in Clawstone, saved so many people, 10.000 Kumears, single handily with your Husband at your side, You opened up a route for them to follow into safety, through a literal war-torn area, defended them, without having such a practical spell at hand, with nothing but your own body, your wits and the few weapons and Warrior´s / Valkyries you had.
You defended all these people while being in enemy territory, despite being at home, only through this act of yours, I was even able to save these 10.000 Kumears as well.
There were already 20.000 and more Kumears which we both were unable to safe in time, who had long died by the time the two of us acted, but then again also 20.000 others which I was still able to find and safe, while you defended the other 10.000 you had found.
Through this act we managed to save 30.000 Kumears…., if anything, I have to bow my head before you, as such a deed is indeed not easy to absolve." Queen Panmora stated as she indeed bowed her head, a gesture which astounded me greatly.
This woman, called affectionately a saint by my kind, was bowing her head infront of me, even though she herself did so many deeds in her life, which were worth for her to be deified.
Was I really someone to be placed on one pedestal with her…, no I hardly could believe such an outrageous thing, for that my deeds were still too insufficient, right?
For now, I will do my best to act upon her believe in me, this time, I ought to keep my folk safe.
Once I find Zeus, Anastasia and Choco, things might go back to the way they were before, for us all…, or at least something along these lines.
"Anyways, now that this has been taken care of, Queen Tereza…, I´ am quite certain that you must have a lot of question, which have for the time still being unanswered, so how about we take a stroll around the island and I will fill you in with everything you have missed or which you yet still don´t know?" Queen Panmora asked, as she rose from her seat.
"You all be dears and keep up the good work, while I tell your queen about the current situation, okay?" She stated and the four Chiefs saluted to her.
"Of course, Queen Panmora." They replied in unison.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, what did I told you to call me?" She suddenly asked, her mine playfully sour.
"We mean, of course Lady Panmora." They replied in unison as well in a certain unease, all I could say was that their behavior confused me greatly.
Before I could ask, the chiefs returned to the tasks which they were doing before I arrived here, and Queen Panmora gestured to follow me, as she left the Tent.
"I am a Queen, yes…, but I am long not their Queen anymore, this position and title belongs to you and as such they have to honor that fact.
I am but a simple bystander in the current politics of Valhalla, same as you would be if we are talking about politics of Geaya." Queen Panmora explained to me, while we walked away from the training grounds down to the little communal villages, which had built itself up here on South Norvak 5, it basically was just a wide field full of tents in all colors of Valhalla, thousands of tents of all sizes, with merchants, craft-shops and smitheries all over the place, but still.
If anything, it reminded me of a huge festival, a medieval festival maybe, just on a gargantuan scale, it was close to a town made of tents.
"We both are Queens and as such we should address each other, and although we both emerged from the same realm, have I, nearly 13.000 years ago, given up my position in favor for the first Grizzly King, King Hontas Redfeather and his Wife, Queen Poca Elvenlight.
I am separate from Valhalla since all this time, even if I still keep an eye on the same, and in times of need, I will surely keep doing my most possible to help you, but otherwise I keep my own opinions in check.
That's what I also told Queen Freyja Valeria Gelatorias, your Ancestor and first Polar-Bear Queen after the Tyranny of King Donduros had ended.
She was uncertain if the Folk would accept her, especially since they had suffered so long under the Polar-bear supremacy.
I told her that if she was careful and unlike Donduros, actually listened to the requests and problems of all the different Tribes and took measures with them to solve the same, I was certain that a large number of them would surely follow her over short or long.
That was all I said to her back then, I told her that I would not barge into their politics unless it is really necessary.
She took that advice to heart and devoted her entirely on keeping the unity of all 4 Tribes together, for ten long years, she was, next to myself, the first Queen to marry outside of her Tribe.
Same as back with her, is it up to the current King and Queen, to see that their folk remains alive and well, also I do have the obligation to my own folk in Geaya, which might tie instantly in your first question you surely have for me.
Yes, it was the Geaya Republic in which the Kumears of your folk have survived all this time, 13 entire years long, though in this realm it had been far more than just those 13 years.
There was a special spell in action, which I will not further disclose…, but which did had to do with them being unable to leave the realm for a period of time." Queen Panmora explained to me and I nodded, I did think about something along these lines, once the Queen told about her folk.
"Are all of your folk Kumears from the Pandaria Clan?" I asked.
"The majority part of them yes, since most of them originated from the ten Panda Kumears, who once followed me when I left Valhalla and created the Geaya Republic, each created a family, 5 families of Panda Kumears live in Geaya, my own excluded, my Four Retainers all are descendants of those Kumears.
The Population of the Kumears in Geaya counts meanwhile about 15.000 members, the remaining 5.000 are made of members of the other 3 tribes, who wounded up finding the gate to Geaya by chance and after the necessary period of time, decided to live there.
The Gate was always open in the previous era, but once the Ambitions of Lycan became clear, I closed the same immediately, to make sure that only those I allowed to, gained access towards it.
In the end the Geaya Republic became a safe Refugee, for those Kumears in other lands, fleeing from the war, those who left after the same was over, got their memories erased." Queen Panmora explained and I nodded, it all made sense, after all, Valhalla had not been the only place in which Kumears lived, it was the main seat of our Race, for sure, but there lived about 1.000 Kumears away from us, in other nations and Regions.
"Also, before you ask…, yes, Bunbart knew about the existence of Geaya, all the Lore Keepers know about it, but the memory and knowledge is safeguarded, similar to the secret about the location of the Nature Sphere." She explained and I just looked confused.
"A secret you need not to know until the time is right, but it does concern your youngest daughter, Princess Choco." She stated and my mood instantly shifted from curiosity towards worry.
"Is she…, do you perhaps know if my Daughter is alright, I heard that my Husband and my oldest Daughter have meanwhile met her, but still, I cannot stop worrying." I stated and she nodded.
"Of course, I would wonder if you would not worry in such a situation…!" Queen Panmora explained.
"To you I surely seem like the worst mother ever, I couldn´t even keep my daughter safe." I stated but she simply laid her hand on my arm.
"Tereza…, may I call you this way…?" She asked and I nodded.
"Of course, my Queen…"
"Just call me Panmora, if we are in private that is…, Tereza, I will be blunt with you, the Position of a Queen, or even as King, is sometimes an ungrateful Job, as such you have a certain obligation towards your folk, a right, privilege and duty, which keeps you from caring about your family the way you should as a Mother and Father.
Back then as you went to safe your folk and left your Daughters in the care of their Guardian, you acted as a Queen should have.
From a mother´s point of view was this situation however a delicate matter in itself, as you should have taken the safety and defending of your children in your own hands.
Its not always easy to bring both, being a Good Queen and being a good mother, under one hat, most of the time, one of both comes out too short if you ask me, maybe that´s the reason why I hadn´t any more children for the longest time, after my Daughter Princess Pariah Pandaria Garontrias was born.
In a way it was even worse to me, since I lived far longer than she did, it´s not like with Maranell who, now that he has a son, slowly so slowly loses his forces as Ancient and begins to get weaker and older, while his forces are being shifted over to his son, who in return grows stronger.
Once his son emerges as new King, as a true successor to his throne, he will likely die, I just hope this day does not come all too early.
Time is a cruel thing, especially if it practically stands still for someone…, still, I would never want to miss my second born daughter, Mei-Ling Pandaria, who was born during the War of Sun and Moon, for nothing in the world.
But I guess I too will die eventually, one of these years, maybe not this or next year, or even in ten years, but I can feel that my end is near." She explained and it did concern me, I mean I just met her and I already had the feeling as though I knew her all my life.
"We Ancients usually die either in Battle or when our purpose has been fulfilled and a new generation takes over our unfinished tasks, a newer, upgraded version of ourselves so to say.
Ancients are just beings with a distinct purpose, what this purpose really is, is not always clear, not even to ourselves.
It lasted a long time, before Maranell and Master Shiro managed to find theirs, as becoming the overlords of our world, keeping the peace between all the folks, after endless centuries of War, following the downfall of the first Beastkind Society, prior to our birth and rise as Kings and Queens.
They were, and through their successors still are, the main reason of why Operation Exodus has not yet been initiated by the creator, Lady Yulungur.
They are the reason we all still exist…, them and maybe also the actions of the High-King and High-Queen of Elysia, the Dragon-Overlords." She explained and I looked confused but she did not seem willing to elaborate the meaning behind her words.
"How many Ancients are there?" I asked her, as I couldn´t truly imagine anyone living so long.
"As far as my knowledge goes are there, with us 3 included, about 9, which are still alive, I know personally about 3 of the others." She explained.
"You keep saying you 3 but who do you mean, surely King Maranell but King White savage the first is long dead, isn´t he?" I asked.
"Yes, unfortunately that is true..., but originally my family was composed of 9 individuals from which currently only me and my 2 brothers are still alive, Maranell and Genma." She replied and I could hear genuine sorrow and grief as she spoke about the first King of Abyssinia.
"Master Shiro…" I heard her mumbling and she seemed to be close to the tears, I had to change the topic quick, how could I make the holy queen cry, I needed to distract her from her sorrow.
"You talked about an Operation Exo…" I tried to ask but she instantly interrupted me with a finger to my lips.
"Trust me when I say, the less you know about it, the happier you surely are…, knowledge about that is a burden I never wished to shoulder." She replied with a serious look, all playfulness as well as sorrow were gone in an instant.
I wondered, what she meant with Operation Exodus…., whatever it was, it was something terrible for sure…, the sound of it was quite ominous…, but moreover…, who is this creator, this Lady Yulungur she spoke of.
"Who…?" I began but was quickly interrupted by her, her glance once more of complete seriousness.
"You need not to concern yourself with her, believe me…., the more you know, the more you become crucial, as well as dangerous for this world, for its continuation…., as I said before, the more you know the more the burden of it surely will crush you…, geez I already spoke too much about things I should not.
Anyways, about purposes…, I thought that my purpose was to founding Valhalla as new kingdom and realm for the remaining Kumears and making the folk big and strong again after Donduros´ Death and the end of his tyranny…., that after I stepped down from the throne, I would have fulfilled my purpose.
Apparently, that was not the case, not even after I founded the Geaya republic, not even after giving birth to both my daughters.
But in our current times it might as well be, that I find my purpose in the upcoming war…, maybe it´s to prevent him from doing that, should all else fail, maybe that's when I meet my end." Panmora explained, her voice getting weaker at the end.
"I hope not, there is surely so much I could learn from you." I stated and she chuckled.
"I appreciate your honesty and I feel honored, but I am surely not the only person you could ask in that matter, my practices might be a little too old fashioned for the current times, even in Geaya we like to keep things as simple and unchanged as possible, many things are still functioning the way they did, during the first decades of the Kingdom of Valhalla.
If it´s about how to be a good queen in your modern day and age, I advise you to ask my daughter Mei-ling, which will one day take my position as Queen of the Geaya Republic.
She currently studies, as well as teaches in the Wolpalaca at Shangri-La." The Queen Explained.
"Wait Shangri-La really does exist?" I asked, since I was unable to see it, it was still hard for me to believe, though I should know better to be surprised after all I knew Sir Strongwing…, and still a little of skepticism always remained.
"Of course, same as its inhabitants, mostly Lupycans and Caninus…, if you want, I can show you." She said as she suddenly drew a circle in the space infront of us.
"This is a so-called Fatamorgana-Mirror, a type of magic which amplifies the view through the water drops in the air, this way it is possible to see things from far away, its like a really strong telescope.
Anyways, this, my dear, is Shangri-La." She stated as in the space before us something began to float, a certain surface, looking like water, withing this strange liquid I could see the reflection of a giant island.
At first all I saw was rock, higher and higher the reflection seemed to fly, until all of a sudden, I could see the sun, what I witnessed up there was incredible…
Lush green hills, tall, stone-grey and snow-white mountain ranges, huge lakes, wild rivers, green meadows as far as the eye could see, here and there I could see little houses, villages.
I saw four huge towers, one in all of the cardinal directions, huge natural rock-bridges connected the same with the island and right in the middle I could see a huge White castle.
"The Ivory Castle, where the Wolven Paladin Academy as well as the Main seat of power in Shangri-La is located, and once it was the seat of power of the Overlord of the Moon, The Lunar King, King Maranell Savarin Wolvenra, back then in Lunaris, before Lycan appeared." Panmora explained.
"Have you been there before?" I asked her but she shook her head.
"Usually we Ancients do not butt into the politics of the realms of one another, except for times of unease and when there is an urgent matter, like nowadays, a couple of days ago in my realm, though just a few hours in this, Maranell visited and asked me if I would help his son once he would die.
Of course I assured him of my allegiance should that day come, though I hope that this still is a moment far away from me…, but it made me think and I believe that I can say, that I have kept myself out of the matters of this world for far too long.
If I had been here back then, maybe this whole War of Sun and Moon would not have even emerged in the first place, or maybe my presence would have made no effect at all, who knows.
Back then all I did was to send my troops into battle, thinking that it was but a simple trifle, one war of many, but I underestimated its magnitude far too much, especially after Lycan showed the world that he possessed the power of a Kaiser Weapon, Bahamut, and in the end many of my send men and women died through him.
Back then I didn´t know what to do, what I was supposed to do, I wanted to retreat, get my warriors and Valkyries back to safety, but before I could decide, Maranell asked me for help in a certain matter, something which might would have be able to end this war, and so I helped him….
I still don´t know, if what we did back then was right or wrong, even though it did help much to end the war, or at least halt it´s progress for the last 1.500 years in this Realm.
Until today, I still don´t know if my presence was in any way favorable for us all, in hindsight, when I look at all the destruction Lycan caused.
What I know however, was that I had to change something this time, maybe it is time for me to return to the side of my Brothers, at least for a while.
So, I offer to you, Queen Tereza, the Allegiance of all the warriors and Valkyries of Geaya, a Force of 15.000 men and women, as well as myself.
This time I will enter the war from point zero on.
What do you say?" She asked as we walked on, the mirror having long dissipated.
I was buff to say the least, the last I ever thought was that I would one day be offered to fight alongside such a legend like Queen Panmora, however, I knew no other answer than accepting.
"Queen Panmora, it would be an Honor for me and my man to fight by your side, the Force of 20.000 Kumears of Valhalla will be yours to command." I replied.
"Those are great news, however I hear that only your men are supposed to fight…, what about you?" She asked.
"I would love to fight alongside you my Queen…., but if I were to do that, then who´s going to keep the Kumears safe which we leave behind here, who´s going to take command once we would be gone….
As the Einherjar surely have to accompany us into these Battles." I explained and she nodded.
"Yes you are right, if the Tribe-Chiefs, as well as the top 10 warriors and Valkyries of each our forces, were to be missing at the battlefield, not only would it result in a drop of the moral of our troops, we would also lose the force of a hundred men instantly, however, as I said, shouldn´t we bind the armies of the two realms solely on one leader.
It ain't my intention of taking over Valhalla and I do not wish to tempt anyone in migrating over to Geaya either, unless they have a good damn reason for it, that's why I suggested that we both were to stand on the battlefield…, but yes you are indeed right, someone has to keep the Kumears, which remain here in the republic, safe and in order, should things escalate here.
No one knows what happens back home, when we are beyond the front-lines, especially when the enemy is as widespread as the Lycanians are.
We both know that there aren´t just those infront of us but maybe a lot of them behind, on our side of the battlefield, hidden, ready for their assassination order.
But what shall we do then…, who shall we keep in charge who actually can handle such a situation, someone who might seem unsuspicious to them but who surely can put up a nice fight, if push comes to shove?" She wondered as we re-arrived at the Chieftain´s tent.
"That´s a good Question, though I hardly have an answer for you on that." I replied and she nodded.
"It´s not so easy when you, on one hand, want to keep our war-power as high as possible and on the other hand, keep the non-fighting folk safe enough, to survive a potential extinction.
So, who will be able to do that, without tearing a huge hole in our current fire-power." She asked, though more to herself.
"It ought to be someone we can trust, someone who knows that the wellbeing of our folk lies within their very hands.
Too many Kumears have already died, I don´t want to lose another thousand of them." I stated and she nodded.
"Naturally, neither do I." She replied in thought, before she shook her head.
"Well, as the repair-works on the Ursa Grande as well as the construction of a new Warship, out of the Lycanians ship, still will take some time, I doubt that we have to rush with our decision.
It surely will still last a couple of days, until we can finally get towards the Devil´s Throat, unless they manage to finish earlier than we thought, at the very least until tomorrow evening, maybe we can speed the repairs up a little, maybe we can get the local smiths and engineers to help us, after all their peace and safety also depends on the success of this mission, if we wouldn´t be here, how long would it last until they were to be attacked and conquered as well." Panmora explained and I nodded.
"Yeah you are right, if we were to explain it, we surely will get their help, and yes we better not rush with our decision of who to keep in charge, after all it is a momentous decision to take." I replied and she nodded.
"It sure is…, If this war is escalating like the last one, or even worse, we might not make it this time, I´m sure her patience with us will soon run out, just like the last 2 times…." Queen Panmora explained and I still wondered who she meant, maybe this Lady Yulungur she spoke off.
I was frightened, to say the least, about how she was phrasing her words, or better said her muttering…., what does she mean with, her patience with us will soon run out…., how much power must this Lady Yulungur have, if she can make a near immortal being like Queen Panmora making a face full of distraught.
"Anyways, I think its high time for me to contact King Maranell about the current situations here." She stated as one of her maids, as if silently called, brought her a box, a huge wooden box which was richly adorned with gold and the like.
"What is this…., if I may ask?" I asked with much curiosity as she opened up the box, more like unfolding it, in which some device with a few switches and regulators had been inbuilt.
It looked like…
"Is that a radio-receiver?" Almari asked dumbfounded as she and the other Chieftains came around the table, to get a look at what was going on.
"Indeed, a crystal Radio to be precise, it is far more prone in transmitting over vast distances, than a normal radio, and since it uses a Crystal, its frequency is almost unable to be detected by normal radios in the first place, not even the Lycanians with their advanced technology are able to listen in.
After all, the Receiver must have a crystal from the same cluster as the messenger, to even receive a message in the first place, its like the resonance of twin crystals… and since only a few radios exist, the number of such crystals is quite limited in the first place.
It´s the perfect devise if you have to hold a secret conversation with someone.
I´ve got a second one with me, in case we need support or backup from somewhere, this way the Enemy will not know about it, once we are on the battlefield, it is an ingenious invention by the Million Clan." Panmora explained and I nodded in awe..., so Rosalia´s Ancestors already build such amazing stuff during their times.
Amazing stuff recognized by none other but Queen Panmora…, I might repeat myself but this woman was a legend, an Idol, a Beacon-light for all of us Queens of Valhalla.
The very same woman was currently happily flipping switches and spinning the regulators on the Crystal radio, humming a tune, until you could hear the sough of static, as we know it from normal radios.
"Norum Coda (Password)?" A voice emerged from the radio, to our surprise, but neither myself nor the 4 chieftains as it seemed, knew of what the voice said.
"Iru, lokari ga biren lumensia astra, iru, loben di tempus et dimen etra Terra, iru, loben di verita futuras, iru wa juramento et orationis, iru vita gaben no del terra da vivre, iru anima, iru cocora, iru corpus et iru sanginus, es tempa aso iru vivre, can tel Gentes et telos Deus.
(We, who we are born under the brightest stars, we, who we know the time and space of our world, we who we know the truth to come, we have sworn and vowed, our life to give for this world to live, our souls, our hearts, our bodies and our bloods, for as long as we live, for the folks and their gods)." Queen Panmora stated in a language I have never heard in my life.
At first all I heard, after this sudden and completely strange display of secrecy, was just the static soughing from before, then all of a sudden, the same voice answered, in the same mysterious language
"Saren as etra et saren it estro. (So has it been and so will it be)." The voice stated.
"Greetings Brother, it has been a long time since we last used these Radios for communicating, hasn´t it?" Queen Panmora asked.
"Indeed, it has been a while hasn´t it…, so I take it that you have meanwhile arrived in the Korat Archipelago, more precisely on South Norvak Island number 5?" The voice of a man asked, it was a powerfull and yet gentle voice, it gave me a similar feeling to her own.
"Ahahahaha, oh my…, I guess your spy-network is as fast and precise as I heard, it hasn´t even been 6 hours since I arrived here, I really could use a lesson in spy craft, I think it´s high time I build up such a network of my own." The Queen joked with a heartfelt laugh.
"Maybe, if we ever get together again, I might teach you a thing or two." The Voice joked back.
"Anyways, I doubt you called just to have some small talk with me, haven´t you?" The voice asked.
"Indeed not, thought as well informed as you are, I doubt that I was about to tell you something you didn´t already know, so you kind off spoiled my fun, you know..." She stated, putting on a fake pouting face.
"I´m sorry, but I am someone who likes his news fresh on a silver-plate, once they have been gathered, especially in times such as these is this crucial.
You never know when you might need those informations, well, as compensation for spoiling your fun, I am willing to share some of my own information with you instead, how does that sound?" The Male Voice, most likely King Maranell´s own stated.
"A nice offering which I am willing to accept, but tell me first something?" She asked him.
"Sure, fire away." He replied, his voice getting serious again, I bet he heard the serious undertone of her question.
"Is it alright if you might send Mei-Ling over here, I am certain that her assistance will be crucial here, especially since I have decided to take part in the action from here on out.
I still have to make some amends for what I missed the last time and I would love to punch Lycan in the face, hard and merciless, for what he did to Valhalla.
It is as they say…, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." She stated and though her mine seemed calm, I could feel the intensity of her words and the incredible force behind them, as well as the hidden hatred.
"Unfortunately, Mei-Ling might not be available for you for a while, out of concern of an attack, should Lycan and his men, against all expectation, attack not myself but my home, should he find out I am not there, I have put Shangri-La on Lockdown during the time I am away.
As she is a strong warrior, as well as a teacher at the Wolpalaca, her assistance in the defense of the Students and the Children is crucial, especially since there do live a few Kumears on Shangri-La as well, long not as much as in Geaya or back then on Valhalla, but at least over a hundred of them have taken refugee here, after we either freed them from the labs of the Lycanians, in which they had been imprisoned or after we found them, splattered across the regions in hiding.
Of course, I understand your own reason for asking for her, but I am sure that she won´t be needed to come, as someone else is already on the move, I am sure you can trust him with such an important task." The King explained but that got me confused a little, did she expected to make this Mei-Ling the commander of the Folk which stays here, did she trust her daughter that much, how old was she, definitely more than 15 years if she was born during the War, right?
And who is the one King Maranell was speaking about now, Kodiak and my daughters are nowhere near the Archipelago, so I doubt he meant them…., this did not made much sense to me, but apparently Queen Panmora knew what was going on.
"I see, so I guess I was not the only one with the idea of stepping in, to give a helping hand this time, though I guess that maybe he thinks we would come together, to finish what we had started back then, what do you think?" Queen Panmora asked.
"Well I doubt that we have to go so far again, at least not if we stop this war before it escalates too much.
Though I think his motives might be of another nature, but as you know, you can trust him, his methods might be more unconventional than ours but if he puts his mind behind it, he surely will get things done…, and I think he might not arrive alone anyways, so he might have someone with him, able to keep him in check, should things get ugly." King Maranell explained.
"I see, yeah that makes sense, well I will see what we can do, anyway, you said that you are away from the island, so what are you currently up to?" The Queen asked.
"I am currently on my way towards the Nippon Archipelago, after I managed to free the Kingdom of Prairie from it´s Oppressor, the battle sure was not easy…., I must admit my foe was formidable, even for his young age, but the next one might even be harder to beat, especially if I am too late to beat her before she can unleash that thing, such a tragedy like back then shall not be repeated.
I don´t wish to lose another so many people due to such a situation, ever again, this time I might not be able to stop It." King Maranell explained and in his voice, I heard sorrow and deep regret, it was the same undertone I knew from myself very well.
"To lose a good portion of one's folk, as well as dear friends due to such a situation, I think the young Queen Tereza might understand me, don´t you, Greetings by the way, I almost forgot that I did not introduced myself properly.
my Name is King Maranell Wolvenra, it is an honor to finally make your acquaintance myself, dear Queen Tereza Gelatorias Garontrias, and a good afternoon to you too, dear Chieftains of the 4 Kumear Tribes, I hope all of you are in good health?" The King asked and I was buff, could he see me through the radio, or how did he do it.
"Yeah, likewise, it is an honor for us as well to make your personal acquaintances, and yes…, I, I, I guess that feeling is familiar to me." I replied, stuttering, I was so not prepared to have a conversation with him.
"I bet, and I know, even if you know that said folk is safe so far, that this feeling won´t disappear, but I think it only gets topped by the feeling of losing the own Child out of sight." The King´s voice stated and suddenly my mind was blank, indeed, I almost forgot that he knew the whole time where my daughter was.
"ABOUT THAT…!" I started, the wrath I had in me after getting to know this fact earlier, was yet again rekindled and now that I spoke to the very person about it, it burned hotter than before.
"Of course, I apologize for keeping that detail from you and your husband, as well as your daughter Anastasia, but even if you would have found Princess Choco, she would not have remembered you, until a while ago at least…, the spell Rosella Armin used on her all these years ago was quite strong, it held out for 11 years after all and has only recently been broken.
Established and broken on the Princess´s own volition, just to make this clear…, though it was necessary for her and my son to meet, to grow up together, all prior events, on both side, lead to them both meeting, as the prophecy indicated.
Though I wish that not all of the gruesome things had to happen the way they did, but as we all know, fate rarely is as we expect and wish it to be." The Voice of King Maranell explained and I had no words to denounce or rebuke that, as he was right.
My wrath diminished like smoke in the wind.
"I am aware of how hard this must have been for you, though only to a fraction, as I still had the opportunity of seeing Red often, though I had to disguise myself as to not get him into danger.
Panmora, maybe you can put a Mirror onto her, for Queen Tereza to at least get a look at her daughter, you know King Kodiak even though he only knows your false names and faces, I am pretty sure you have already marked him for observation, don´t you?" The voice stated and I my head literally flew in her direction, I was confused, as well as concerned and maybe a little enraged.
"Marked…, what does that mean…, don´t tell me you have…?" I asked but she waved off.
"No, no…, geez Maranell you really should have chosen your words more carefully, now you gave Queen Tereza a complete false image of me for a second….
Anyways, marking a person relates here, as to put some kind of transponder onto someone, some kind of anchor-point so to say, If something were to happen, I would be able to teleport right to that person then.
On the same account, I am also able to observe said person without them knowing, the same way I did show you, as we watched Shangri-La, it´s good for when you have cases, of doubting someone in their credibility.
You observe how this person acts in privates and based on the evidences you find, you can determine if you want to trust them any longer or rather not.
It did saved my life and my Republic the one or the other time, let me tell you that the Republic is long not so well off, as it might seem, even we count crime and corruption to our daily problems.
This ability is quite useful and it should have helped me in keeping you all safe, especially in regards to the current demise of the island of Valhalla, though I´m sure you understand, that I don´t observe you or others 24/7.
The Attack on Valhalla was precise and of a rapid nature…, normally such an attack would result first in a siege, before the enemy would attack, but as this was more or less an insider-job by Bunbart, as he was manipulated and controlled in order to weaken the defense before the actual invasion from the inside, and since the Information of the attack wasn´t delivered to me in time, by the outer personnel of my field operatives, before it was almost too late, all of this could even happen in the first place.
As Bunbart was the only one to actually being able to contact me, my appearance into this crisis was nearly at the end, as everything had almost been lost already.
My gut-feeling was what ultimately made me check on the condition of Valhalla, since I faced Bahamut before, I knew the feeling when he was awake, after I checked, it made me see what was going on as well as realize the fundamental error of my own policy of shrouding our existence in mystery before other realms.
If I would have given you or your husband the knowledge of my existence, I would have been able to enter this battle far earlier, as then you would have surely been able to contact me.
But I laid my trust solely in Bunbart, as my descendant, unable to comprehend the danger of him getting overtaken by the enemy, and so unable to contact me.
This was, as I said before, my greatest strategical failure and definitely not your debt to pay but my own, that´s why I decide to enter this war from the start.
And before you ask, yes I did marked you and your daughters during my last visit as well, this way I would have been able to help her, should she ever directly had needed my assistance, especially when she would have been alone under enemies, however until now there was always someone beside her or on its way, to help her out and keep her safe, not to mention was she later on under Maranell´s care, even if indirectly through the Orphanage, so there wasn´t really ever such a situation happening for me.
An opportunity to at least repay some of the debt I have loaded on my back.
Still, I occasionally watched her, she has become a strong girl, you surely have born a righteous, kind and strong pair of daughters." Queen Panmora stated and her words surely let tears accumulate in my eyes.
"Queen Panmora, I am sure that we all share some of the blame for what happened to our home, there is no one who should load all the blame onto their own backs, that´s what I understood through the Words of the Chieftains.
You say that you are responsible for not checking on us, I say that me and my husband were responsible because we weren´t there, maybe the chieftains wish they could have done more…., but ultimately none of us could have predicted such a huge invasion to be happening in our home in the first place, at least not through an insider job.
Even if we were there, they would have still attacked, maybe we would have been able to react faster to it, but with Bahamut´s appearance, it would have just been a matter of time until Valhalla would have fallen either way, maybe we would have been able to hold out for a few days but ultimately the Island would surely have been lost, yielding to its power…, a weapon that is able to tear a whole continent apart, surely has an easy game on an mere Island." I explained and she nodded.
"Well spoken, Bahamut is a Titano Machinae of the Kaiser Level and such weapons luckily only exist four times in this world, they are the world´s strongest weapons ever created and as we have seen are they cataclysmic in the wrong hands.
They might only be really rivaled in their power, by the four Aces, the four first born Titano Machinae.
They come upon us like natural disasters, their destructive power unparalleled to anything else, anything but one thing, one being on this planet and we better pray to all gods we know, that this thing is not awakening ever again, or at least not anytime soon." Queen Panmora explained to me and I nodded, the way she underlined her words indicated that she was dead serious about them.
"Anyways, as I said earlier, am I currently on my way to Nippon, so be careful when you enter the devil´s throat and land on Ragdoll, it might well be that you enter in the middle of a war, though if that is the case, you instantly can engage the enemy alongside of those who resist against them.
I will see to clean up In Nippon as fast as I can, to join you guys, thought I am not so sure if I get to that, if this other thing reappears, I surely will have my hands full with keeping it from running havoc, exterminating the same might take quite a while as it is in the Category beneath a Kaiser Weapon, a King Type, so its power is extremely potent.
In comparison, Lares and Lemures are both of the Jack Type, so 3 levels beneath a Kaiser Weapon and they were very potent in their usage during the Last War, King White Savage the XII died, killed by Lycan, after the usage of the Wolven-Lions-Roar Canon nearly drained all lifeforce of him, in an attempt of stopping them, which luckily succeeded.
The Power of a Titano Machinae is not corresponding to its size and shape, it could be as tall as a simple robot and still potent enough to destroy a nation or two in one strike.
In regard of all this, I will try my best to finish things fast.
However, I have to accomplish all of my actions, for as long as possible in secret, and absolve them all as fast as possible, if Lycan would get to know, that I am currently not on Shangri-La, he surely will abandon his troops here in the Republic and elsewhere and make his way to invade my home with his troops and those working with and under him.
I am certain, he surely would go as far as to send Bahamut to destroy everything.
If that were to happen, no barrier might be strong enough to hold him of until I would arrive, which would mean that countless of Lupycans as well as other members of folks, who sought refugee from the last war at Shangri-La, will perish as well, the forces to stand against Lycan would have a huge hole teared within them, but moreover, Red would have no home to return to, neither would I." King Maranell explained and I nodded, I could understand him, if the same what happened to Valhalla would happen to Shangri-La, countless of lives would be lost once again.
"I must survive, until Red is ready to take upon my mantle, until he is strong enough to even defeat Lycan and his troops, until then I should not allow myself to be killed by Lycan or anyone else…, my existenceis the only thing that binds him upon Ragnarök after all." King Maranell stated and I barely was able to understand the last part as he mumbled it, but my ears were well trained, even more so in the last decade, from constantly eavesdropping on other people, for the sake of gathering information of the possible whereabouts of my daughter.
"His existence binds Lycan…, what does he mean with that, is there a reason why Lycan had to retreat and stay still for 15 Abyssinian Years?" I wondered, but I was sure that if I were to ask, I wouldn´t get a clear answer to it, it must be of the same secrecy as Lady Panmora's mumbled words.
"Anyways, I better get going I will soon arrive with my troops in Nippon, you guys keep yourself safe and healthy over there, especially you Panmora, your time has not yet come, I can feel that, you still have a lot to do, before you shall be allowed to lay to rest." King Maranell stated.
"Yes I know, but you should be careful too, you aren´t the youngest anymore." Queen Panmora tried to reason him.
"Well, what can I say…, but you know…, neither are you, Hehehe." He stated with a laugh.
"That was totally uncalled for…, I ain´t that old you know, I am still younger than you my dear Maranell, so don´t act so cocky." Queen Panmora replied pouting.
"Hehe, I guess you are right, then again, aren´t you supposed to respect your elders?
Hehe, anyways, I gotta go, might see you later Sister."
"We surely will, I am certain of it, so you better don´t get yourself in deep trouble, you hear me?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know…, catch you later, over and out." King Maranell stated, before the connection was gone and only static noise was to hear.
"One yeah is more than enough, dummy." I heard Queen Panmora mumble.
To be honest I wasn´t truly sure how to feel after speaking with another great king, another being whose wisdom transcended time, everything we have known and currently are knowing, especially so casually.
But one thing I was certain about, after listening to this whole conversation between the King and Queen Panmora, the Mirror Spell of her was able to also observe people and she told herself that she did marked my daughter…, King Maranell suggested her to make me able to see her…, something I had been craving for over a decade now and I was sure to get it fulfilled in very near future.
Then again, there was another detail which occupied my mind right now.
"So…, what exactly did King Maranell mean, as he said that someone was on his way to us?" I asked, as this question was still not answered to me, but before the Queen could reply anything to that question of mine, something Strange seemed to be happening outside of the tent, some noise harshly interrupted our conversation.
Was there trouble in our midst, already now, barely a day since all of the Kumears arrived?
To be continued….
A/N: Hello and welcome to chapter two of Valhalla Rising, as you can see, did we this time spoke a bit about Panmora Pandaria which is a character, who had already appeared once in the Main story, as she elaborated in her conversation with Queen Tereza.
Her Character is one of those crucial side-character ones, with a big role, thought it is more of a big supportive role to our MCs, we surely will see more of her in Book 2 and 3 and at the end of Book 1 during the war.
As you might ask when these few last chapters are being written, as the conversation with Maranell indicates, is a lot going on behind the scenes of the war at Ragdoll.
Since most of these Events tie right into that war and are more of a prelude to the same, it is crucial for me to write them up first, so I don´t accidentally miss something or rewrite something in a different manner as before or after, once we hit those last 6 chapters.
Anyways I hope you have enjoyed this chapter and the other side-stories so far, as always read and review if you like, or just leave a comment in my PM´s, stay healthy and well, my dear readers.
Sincerely, yours truly, the Storyteller and his books.
