Ch3
The first week.
The last month has been very trying on Severus, during the first week he had to deal with Albus who wanted to send Harry back to his Aunt and her ogar of an husband as he refused to believe that Harry was Severus's son and felt that he had custody of Harry and had the right to choose where Harry goes to live.
Minerva had believed Severus as she had always had a good relationship with both Lily and Severus and trusted the man. So she told Albus off and when he still tried to give his opinion on how unfit Severus is to be a single dad to Harry. She told him that if he did not leave Severus alone to raise his own son then he could go and look for a new wife. That had shut the man up and made him apologize for how he was acting.
Harry liked Minerva who took it upon herself to act as the boy's grandmother who was always doting on him, while helping Severus settle into fatherhood though he seemed to be a natural. She refused to let Severus teach as she felt that he and Harry needed time to grieve for their losses and for them to get comfortable and settled not that there was much time till their winter break started and she informed both Severus and Albus that, he was only allowed back to teaching after the winter break, and no one even tried to talk her out of it.
As for Albus Dumbledore he was in the dog house with his wife and no matter how much he apologized or tried making it up to her and Severus. He tried to act as a loving grandfather to Harry but Harry did not like him at all and would either cry or hide when Albus was around him. So he was left out of all the bonding time Severus and Menirva had with Harry.
Harry has a new legal name change though only Menirva and Albus new. Severus felt that Harry did not need to have everyone knowing their business and he wanted Harry to have a happy and relatively normal childhood without his fame coming in the way. So he opted to switch Harry's first and second name around instead.
When the will reading came after the funeral Severus was shocked to learn that James had left everything to Sebastian, even his title as Lord. James had loved the boy as his own and only wanted what was best for him.
Severus had received a letter from Lucius Malfoy during the first week after Lily's death sending the family's condolences to him. Not everyone knew it but he was actually a good man. Lucius's father was the one who was pushing for the Malfoy Family to be associated with the Dark Lord and as he was the Lord of the Malfoy Family the rest had no say but to follow his command. Though not long before the Dark Lord's demise did he two died from Dragon-Pox. Leaving Lucius as the new Lord.
The son of Lucius and Narcissa was actually Severus Godson who was just a little older by a few months than Sebastian, and he often went over to spend time with the young boy as he could not go home to Lily.
The Second Week.
Severus took Sebastian out for his first outing during the second week. He had gotten a new stroller from Minerva as a gift that very morning. So Severus apparted them to Diagon Alley to go get a few new things for Sebastian and some supplies for himself as he was running low on potion ingredients for his personal use.
As they made their way through the alley looking for the baby supply store first as he wanted Sebastian to have some nice things for himself and Severus wanted to decorate Sebastian's two bedrooms and was hoping to find some toys and furniture both of them liked.
Finally finding the store they made their way in, Severus left Sebastian's stroller outside of the store to make it easier for them to move around. Taking Sabastians hand in his own he led into the store. Severus found a dark wooden dresser that he liked, a toddler bed in the same dark wood and a changing table that matched. Then he went over to the bedding aisle and had Sebastian pick out two sets that he liked; it ended up being a blue set as well as one in green.
Then they went over to the toy area only for the duo to bump into the Malfoy family.
"Severus!?" Narcissa exclaimed looking very shocked to see the man in the baby store.
"Narcissa! What a surprise it is to see you all here today." Severus remarks giving her a kiss on the cheek as a greeting before turning to Lucius. "Lucius, my friend for a long time, no see."
"Yes, well we did not want to be in your way during your time of mourning my friend." Lucius said, placing his hand on Severus's forearm.
Sebastian just stood there, his hand in his dads, looking at the adults talking to his dad with a confusion on his face. When Draco took his attention by grabbing his other hand. "Hi, I'm Draco." he said, making everyone look at who Draco was talking to.
"Ah sorry, this is my son Sebastian." Severus replied, taking everyones yet again.
"You never told me you had a son Severus." Narcissa said, looking at the little boy.
"Well I did not know till two weeks ago." Severus responds sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand.
Luciun raised his eyebrows but did not say anything.
"Well he definitely has your looks, Severus." Nacissa said, looking at the boy again.
"Hi sweety it is nice to meet you." Narcissa said bending down to be at eye level with Sebastian.
"Hello…" Sebastian replied shyly.
"We should let the boys have a playdate!" Narcissa said, straightening back up and looking at Severus. "Draco would benefit from having real friends and i think it would be good for Sebastian as well having a friend his age."
"Yes, well Draco is my godchild and I would not want him being deprived of my attention either. So I have no issue with the matter. Send us an owl when you would like to come over or if you want us to come to you. I have off till the end of winter break." Severus said smiling to the you children.
"Daddy Play?" Sebastian asked his father, then pointing at Draco.
Severus stood shocked not knowing what to say to his son who has never asked this of him. Then he looked at his friends with a shrug.
"Well I don't know the little man, they might be busy." was the only thing he could think of saying.
"Fater, I wanna play!" Draco decided to speak up, stomping his foot and pointing at Sebastian as well while looking at his father.
The adults all looked at each other not knowing how to respond to the childrens request. Neither of them wanted to say no to the boys. So Luican spoke up first to Severus.
We just have a few errands we need to do but we can meet up in an hour at the manor if you like?"
"Same here with the errands but we have nothing set in stone for the remainder of the afternoon so I see no problem." said Severus.
The two groups then split up and finished the remainder of their shopping. Only to reunite an hour later at Malfoy manor where the two young boys played chaise outside, playing on the playground that the Malfoy's had at the back yard. It was such a hit that Severus and Sebastian stayed for dinner and promised to be back later on in the week for another playdate.
This was how the remainder of Severus's break was spent between days alone with Sebastian getting him comfortable and happy at Splinter's end and going to the Malfoy's or them coming over every second or third day, till two days before start of term when they had to get back at Hogwarts..
A/N: Thank you for those who have favorited /followed. I hope that you enjoyed this chapter. I'm sorry that it is a little short but I wanted to get back to school. One more chapter of Sebastian being a toddler then a time jump. This will continue till we get to school. I won't be doing much dialog of Sebastian and Draco while they are still very young as I hate typing in 'baby'.
