Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story. This one about Destiny. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Destiny; Microsoft and a few others do.

The jumpship sped through the vastness of space. Its pilot was deep in concentration as he hummed and looked at the ghost next to him.

"Why exactly are we doing this?" The pilot of said jumpship questioned the ghost. "The awoken and the last city aren't exactly…. Friends." The pilot said as the ghost floated around in front of his guardian.

The pilot kept his helmet on. Not because he felt like he needed his armor in the vastness of space… But because he needed to hide his face, the awoken would reach out to him.

"And that's why they sent us." His ghost put in which caused the guardian pilot to roll his eyes. "The last city needs a foothold in the reef. We need allies, remember what the speaker said?" His ghost questioned as he tilted his 'head'.

"The speaker didn't spend months… Years... However long we've been on the frontlines." The guardian put in and brushed off his armor. "Their queen doesn't offer, she takes. We go there? You want to tell me she isn't going to twist our leg all the way around? Hell, the only thing the last city knows about her since last time? Her name, Mara Sov." The guardian put in as their ghost floated in front of him.

"Would you rather the hive swamps the city?" His ghost questioned to which the guardian hummed. "Or the vex? We've seen what their planning. The last city isn't some vast empire, it's a struggling home." The ghost added as the guardian looked ahead.

He tapped his fingers upon the dashboard and let the ship drift. They weren't at the reef yet; the guardian didn't want to speed there instantly.

"I know, phase." The guardian said and leaned back in his seat. "But we've also seen the awoken. It isn't the damned awoken I'm shy about; it isn't their prince who loves to run his mouth off at me… It's their queen." The guardian stated and leaned back in his seat.

"Mara Sov is a queen, they don't bargain." The guardian put in and crossed his arms. "You want to know what she'll want? A guardian, someone with light… Because it gives her a toy to play with. It isn't going to make the deal I don't want to do. It's the simple fact that once I make the deal? She isn't going to let me go." The guardian said as his ghost blinked.

The guardian wasn't stupid. He knew Mara Sov would turn him into one of her servants. She would force him to use his light for her own agenda… And he wasn't stupid enough to pretend it wasn't.

"We have to make sacrifices." His ghost put in as his guardian tapped autopilot.

"Being the slave of a queen isn't a sacrifice… It's serfdom." The guardian said as he closed his eyes.

He wouldn't pretend he wanted this. The last time he was in front of the queen? He was giving them the head of a vex gate lord. Now? He'd be bargaining for a foothold in a place where she held all the power. He couldn't demand it, she had far more control there.

The guardian wasn't stupid, but he wasn't going to back down. He'd find a way to get what he desired… What the city needed.

"Your willing to allow her access to the light for a deal?" The guardian questioned as his ship arrived at the edge of the reef. "Willing to let her have control of things that she could turn against the city? Because the queen is as dangerous as the rest of the people we fight." The guardian stated and then slowly gestured his craft forward.

He was quite curious how this would go despite himself. This would be like dancing with a shark. They would show their teeth when he arrived. And if he didn't show his? He'd be devoured, eaten without remorse or hesitation.

"We're not going to be able to bargain for much." The guardian said, he could already feel the reef upon him.

Mara didn't allow her territory to fall or be outside her control. He was on her turf now…. And he knew there was no retreat.
