We have yet to see some stuff about Daniel, which is a shame because I like Daniel. He's the most freeing of the three siblings to write because he doesn't get a romantic attachment. Much more time to focus on his character.
"So, mage." someone called. Daniel turned and saw one of the nobles approaching.
"Which one?" Daniel asked.
"You." The noble said, pointing at Daniel.
"What did you need?" Daniel asked.
"I wanted to know why you're conversing with the Inquisitor's possy. Surely you should know that only important people can do that."
"Might explain why you haven't been allowed to see us." Dorian quipped.
"My dear, it appears you are misinformed." Vivienne said. "This man is Daniel Trevelyan, brother of the Inquisitor, and First Enchanter of the Ostwick Circle. He is quite qualified to be here."
"Never heard of him." the noble said.
"Well, now you have." Daniel said, turning back to his fellow mages. "So, how will we deal with-"
"I wasn't finished with you!" The man said. Daniel sighed.
"Did you require something?" Daniel said. "Other than telling me I'm not important, which we have just informed you is incorrect?"
"I want to know what you're doing." The noble asked.
"We are attempting to find a solution to one of the Inquisition's problems." Solas said. "The Inquisitor has charged us with finding a way to remove some enchantments from enemy mages, and finding ways to reduce the demon population quickly."
"What, you mean that you don't already know how? You have a tevinter magister with you, use blood magic." The noble said.
"I am afraid I am an altus." Dorian corrected. "Blood magic like you're suggesting is what my countrymen would resort to in the higher seats of the Magisterium. I would hope that you would know that not every tevinter mage is a magister, as you are of the nobility."
"Though the smell would certainly suggest otherwise." Vivienne remarked.
"I am Lord Rhophio!" The man said. "I control an important-" Daniel decided to ignore him at this point. He plastered on a smile as he went on and on about his position and the things it entitled him to do.
"Well Lord Rhophio," Solas said, "It was a pleasure to meet you, but we must get back to work. Some of us are actually doing something to plug the hole in the sky." Daniel and the other mages snickered a bit.
"I'll have you know I am making important contributions to the Inquisition of at least one hundred gold per week!" Lord Rhophio said.
"Don't we get more than that from the pilgrims?" Daniel asked. Dorian nodded.
"Almost three times that amount, actually." Dorian said.
"My dear, we must get back to work." Vivienne said. "And do pardon my colleagues. They are simply lacking in sleep, and as such their tongues have become loose."
"Hmph." Lord Rhophio said. "I will be lodging a formal complaint with Lady Montilyet." He turned away and then said "If you were proper mages, you'd have finished by now." That response was met by a barrage of spirit, lightning, fire, and ice magic, causing the man to go flying. He wisely decided to stay quiet when he exited the room.
"That was unpleasant." Daniel said.
"And here I was thinking we'd be able to have a nice afternoon." Dorian said. "One without entitled nobles thinking they know more than they do."
"That is simply how the nobility is." Solas said. "It has been that way since their inception."
"He is not as important as he thinks himself to be." Vivienne said. "If we want access to his dam, which we don't, Empress Celene will be able to force it open."
"So, back to work?" Daniel said, pulling a bottle of wine out from under the table and four wine glasses. "This bottle won't finish itself."
"My man, you know just what to say." Dorian said, taking the bottle. "Ah, Val Chevin white. You spoil us."
"I only drink the finest." Daniel said with a mock bow.
"I am terribly sorry for my lateness!" The spa lady said. The four mages reclined back into their chairs as they got ready for pampering.
"Honestly, couldn't he see we were wearing spa outfits?"
Well that was fun! As you can see, the mages are terribly busy. They just have so much on their plates! Must be why Daniel brought the wine.
