Chapter 1: The Beginning

It was a lonely day for a young man. His parents were off doing god knows what, his relatives never told him anything until it was too late to make plans and honestly, he couldn't care less about what was going on, because it was him and his games. He took a deep breath, hopped onto his computer and booted up Minecraft, the game that let him explore the depths of a fantasy that he quite enjoyed, despite being nearly 19.

After booting up the game, he had leaned his head onto his fist, thinking to himself as he wondered what to do with his world. He had done everything he possibly could have, probably even more to be honest… well, all excpt slay the Ender Dragon or the Wither. Then he got an idea, 'What if..' He thought to himself, 'I got a mod for this.' He would sit there and pondered his idea, scratching his chin a bit as he wondered what mod to get. He then pulled up a browser on his secondary monitor, browsing the different mod ideas until one caught his eye. After a few minutes of scrolling, there was one that caught his eye. 'Mob talker..?' He asked himself, unsure as he saw anime girls as the cover panels, wondering what this could have meant. 'Well… one way to find out, I guess.' He thought, thinking he was going to regret it sooner or later. He then went through the process of properly downloading the mod, making sure that he didn't accidentally download any viruses on his computer. After the deed was done, he restarted his Minecraft entirely. However, it was only after he managed to get to the loading screen that the computer decided to kick the bucket, shutting down entirely. To say the young adult was agitated was an understatement. He was absolutely furious as he stood up and walked away, heading to the fridge to see what food he had left. All he really had left was some left overs from last night, which was really just cold spaghetti. 'Better than nothing..' he would think to himself, sighing a bit as he then went to heat it up, moving back to his room to check on his computer, deciding to check over it to see if anything had happened and if there was anything he could fix.

He checked every nook and cranny that the computer had to offer and found nothing that alluded to the issue, thus he decided that it was just a game crash. The male would then sigh and went to retrieve his warmed up spaghetti, thinking to himself as he kicked back and watched TV, well.. all until the storm had come in, causing the entire block to black out. He sighed to himself and shook his head, "Great.. This is just great.." He would then scratch his head, unsure of how to proceed with his night. It was then he decided to head to bed for a little nap.

Hours later, he woke up. He put his hand up, blocking out the sun as it was blinding, then stood up. It was obvious that he wasn't… quite in his room anymore, it was a beautiful day out, no storm to have been seen, no computer, no technology, no indicator that he was home. As he processed this and thought about it, he looked around quickly and rapidly. 'Where am I?' he asked himself in his head, panicking a bit. It was then that he saw the blocky trees and the surrounding area. 'I'm… in a game…? And in Minecraft no less..? What the hell is going on..?' He asked all these questions in his head and he sighed a bit. 'Basics... let's start with the basics.' the young adult then started breaking down trees, like in the actual game, he punched away at it until it broke, but… it hurt a lot less than he initially thought it would. He grinned to himself and started swinging full force. After a while, he managed to get at least a stack of logs. It was then that he wondered how the hell he'd access his inventory and thought about it. He then swiped his hand down like in SAO, wondering if that would work. It didn't. 'Shiiit.' It was only then he realized that he had a bookbag on his back, wondering if this would prove as his inventory and to his shock and relief, it was. He then started on the basics, crafting a crafting table and some wooden tools to start out.

After a quick and brief thinking session, he decided to go through and look for food and a cave so he could start on getting gear so he wouldn't die. Well, he assumed that this was in Hardore mode. He collected food, wool, leather, stone, anything he could find that was beneficial and started out with the basic gear. Once finding a cavern that he could explore, he stepped into it, looking around and listening for any hostile mobs that could be lurking around the area. The male then went off deeper into the cave, grabbing coal, making torches, making sure he lit the pack back up to the surface as he finally found what he went in looking for: iron. It was then, however, he learned that he wasn't quite alone in this cavern… well, he knew all along, but there was a growl coming off from his left, from where it was darker and barely lit. He grit his teeth and put his pickaxe on the floor, then drew his stone sword, looking at the zombie slowly approach him. He rushed forward and swiped the sword at the zombie. It wasn't anything too special, but it just felt satisfying.

Once he got what he needed, he was surprisingly uninterrupted. When he left the cave, he sighed to himself, the sun just about to start rising. "Should I start up a base?" He asked himself, though, unbeknownst to him, there were a pair of eyes that was on him, just watching and observing his every move. The male then started his way up a mountain, making sure it was near a water source and near plenty trees. It was there that he decided to make his house so that it had a balcony facing where the sun set. When he finished the place he would call home, he then started making his bed and everything else, setting up properly so he could make it at least a little more homey. Once he placed down his bed, he laid on it, despite the rules of the game, he fell asleep, being extremely exhausted.

Later, when the young man woke up, he looked around, it being night now as he looked around, thinking to himself as he scratched his head, got geared up and stepped outside, deciding on trying to set up a farm. While, yes, he could set it up in the morning when it was safer, where was the danger in that? He liked the risk and honestly, even if he was risking his actual life, he still wanted the thrill of having fun because… well, it's a game. Games are meant to be fun. He set up a fenced area, set up a farm, went in and checked to see whether he had enough resources to make a proper egg farm. He didn't. It seemed that it would always happen to him as he would always end up short on iron. He took a deep breath and despite the song "Don't Mine at Night," he decided to do just that: mine at night. He took a deep breath, making sure he properly remembered how to access his inventory and nodded, moving out to explore the cave from before even more.

As he was walking to the cave, he decided to walk through the area where the zombie came from a while back. He walked through and lit the way, his thoughts returning to wondering how he managed to get here. He was a little too lost in thought as he had ended up wandering into a spawner room, growling surrounding him as zombies had started spawning in the room. The low growls snapped him back to the current events and he drew his iron sword, thankful he made armor before coming out here as he went and started killing the zombies, though it was quickly becoming a challenge as a skeleton had approached from behind and shot him where the armor didn't quite protect him. The young adult groaned a bit, the distraction providing enough time for the zombies to attack him from the front. 'I should've listened to the advice from the song.' He thought as he fell to his knees, the armor protecting him, but with the skeleton behind him and the zombies, he had to retreat. The question was how, though. It was then that there was a blur, well, a blur to him as his vision started to fade out, the only thing that he could make out being the eyes. Neon Purple. It was then that he fell unconscious, bleeding as his armor, while it helped a bit, it didn't do much as the mobs were stronger than he thought it was.
