Chapter 3: Training for the Future.
A few weeks had passed since Elijah started his training. Currently, he was sparring with Andr. Over time they had developed quite the bond and even shared some fairly good memories. Even better than his own family had. Well, it didn't start like this at least.
It was back when Andr had left the council meeting. She had decided to pay Elijah a visit by just walking into his house while he had made himself a mineshaft and some very important items like an enchantment table. When he headed back up the ladder to make himself more food, he almost fell back down to the mineshaft upon being greeted by the endergirl. "Jeez, Andr. At least try to announce yourself," He sighed, scratching his head as he went up the stairs of his house where he was going to set up his enchanting area. The endergirl would then apologize though a giggle, which only made the apology less genuine. She was sorry, though, just found his reaction funny. "What? It's not every day you get a girl in your house." Andr would say, essentially roasting Elijah. His only response was a light grumble and he sighed, stretching a bit. "Wanna help me train?" He'd ask her, completely disregarding the previous statement. She nodded and went to help him, both using wooden swords with Elijah wearing leather armor, since.. Andr couldn't possibly wear armor either, at least the armor Elijah could make. Once they made it outside, Elijah and Andr would establish some of the ground rules for the sparring, which really wasn't much other than no killing. They started quickly, Elijah playing safer for now until he knew how Andr would attack with her sword. Andr smirked, rushing at Elijah at a speed he wasn't at all used to, attacking him from behind with a slash that ran parallel with his spine. Even with the leather armor, the sword did quite a bit of damage to him. This was gonna be a long day of him getting beat up, but he was perfectly okay with it. It was practice for the future… even if it meant he was getting his ass handed to him every practice session.
After practice, he was sitting on his bed, Andr patching him up after she was just a little too rough with her strikes. To be honest, Andr was surprised he wasn't dead at all after all of that, but she assumed that it was because of the weapon she used. She felt a little bad, though. Elijah couldn't recover as quickly as she could, not to mention he wasn't as strong either. There are many things that she could only pray he'd improve on, especially once the elders got what they needed. She shook her head. She was getting distracted and sighed as she finished up with what she was doing, sighing softly as she stood up. "Get some rest, I need to leave now." She would say to the teen, teleporting out without giving him a chance to argue. There was no council meeting that night, however there were negotiations that needed to be done. With the kingdom of Hell itself.
Coming back to now, Elijah had seemingly become a lot stronger. It even showed in his physique as he was a little muscular, though not too muscular to the point of being a muscle head, though not too little for him to seem like nothing happened. He was perfect. Well, not to him at least. He still had the self-doubt from before. He would always doubt himself and even with the very intense training he's been pushing himself through -though of course he took breaks in between and made sure to take care of himself- he believed that Andr was an amazing person. He believed that she helped him by giving him motivation. Everyone has got that one person that they wanna impress, or in this case, prove wrong, even if it wasn't intentional. Today was the day he was going to beat Andr in a sparring match, he could just feel it. His mood very quickly changed, however, once he found a note where he and Andr normally sparred. He quickly took the letter, reading over it.
It read: "Hi, Elijah. I didn't have any better way to tell you this, but I can no longer come to visit you. The elders of the kingdom of the End have decided you have become a distraction to my work. They have since forbidden me from coming to see you. There is no longer a way for us to see each other anymore, not until the plan has been complete. This may be the last you'll hear from me, but there is one place they cannot limit me away from: The Nether. Get to The End before they can finish the plan. If this is the last time I get to see you… I'm happy to say that these past few weeks have been the best times of my life. I thank you for that."
Now, this is a shorter chapter (and especially since I took… a significant time away, please don't blame me as I didn't have access to the computer for a long time) and this is mainly because I wanted to leave it here. The next chapter will begin with the POV of Andr and for now until maybe a few chapters in I'll try to balance both Eli and Andr's POVs, bear with me and hopefully I can get the next chapter out faster. Also, Andr won't be a Mary Sue. I'll try not to do that, but who knows, I might need to reread everything and make little edits to be honest.
