Chapter 21

Suiryu was smiling on the inside.

He knows he pissed off this Leo Adonis guy, he could see it in his eyes, yet at the same time, he is playing dumb to it all. How fortunate that he inherited his brother's clueless innocence look. And just at the right time! He used that face all day today, he swore D'angelo was going to laugh aloud the moment he pulled such a look the first time. Yet as the day progressed, he got better at it.

"Doesn't he look cute when he is confused?" he heard one woman whisper.

"Adorable," squealed the other. "He's so lovable!"

He smirked to the comment as he had his lunch. At the same time, something has been bothering him. The only ones who know of Yuuji's situation was everyone at school that he trusted.

How did word get out about him becoming a dragon?

'I doubt those of the divine are that smart to figure it out, that or one of their summons got word and passed it along' he thought to himself.

He paused as someone took a seat at his table.

Peering up, he saw Adonis sitting across from him. "Can I help you?" Suiryu asked.

"How about clearing out of here, I wish to eat alone."

"Yeah, I was here first, not moving," Suiryu stated and went to his phone. He's been getting pictures and text messages all day today. Satoru found where everyone's missing stuff went to, but was told not to touch it or face the wrath of Kitsune! His last message to him was 'that woman scares me'

Then he got messages from Junpei. Yuuji has been at their dorm all day, but he has been asleep on Choso who refused to move from the couch until Yuuji woke up. 'Must be another phase' he thought.

"You have some nerve… I'll give you that,"

Peering up once more he found Adonis staring at him oddly. "What value does it have to the likes of you?"

"I don't have the slightest clue as to what you are talking about,"

"Enough with the act, Sukuna!" he whispered. "What do you want with the boy?"

He continued to appear clueless to it all. "The boy? You mean Yuuji? My brother?" he asked.

Adonis snickered. "Brother… you honestly believe anyone would fall for such a lie? You are waiting for him to turn aren't you? To obtain a stronger body!"

Suiryu suddenly snapped his fingers oddly, the sounds coming from around them instantly silenced. "You can speak more freely now, no one can hear us. As for what I want with him… Yuuji IS my brother. I am also NOT Sukuna, that asshole can rot in hell for all I care. What I want to know is this, why do you want him? You of the divine all know the truth of this transformation, hell, my brother may never come out of it. We're aware of that and yet this is forced upon him. So the question, did you or anyone in your legions force this?" he asked.

Adonis sneered. "If we were able to do such a thing, we wouldn't have done it to a demon vessel!" he protested. "As for the heavenly being… by the way, we know he's becoming a baby dragon… well… I'll keep you guessing as to why we wish to obtain him."

"Guess it huh?" he asked in a challenging tone. He suddenly leaned back. "Okay then, from what I have gathered is this. You are looking to expand your legions, the more summons you have the greater your divine energy, correct? Since you gain more through them after all, they are connected to the source. A dragon is the purest form of it, so it would be an instant boost to your own standings as to where you are right now. Secondly, if such a thing doesn't happen, as well many of you are going to try to turn him into your own summons, you plan on harvesting him for materials. Once again, parts of a dragon can be used to strengthen your own energy… but not by a lot to say the least."

Adonis froze.

Yet the sneer on his face revealed everything that he mentioned was true. "But there are other reasons to why you wish to obtain him, I don't care the least bit as to what they are either. All I know is this. You come after him. You face me!" Suiryu stated defiantly. "I care for my brother deeply, I dare to say I love him but am still trying to figure out this emotional shit. But let's say this. Push comes to shove… I will channel Sukuna on you… your legions and any who decide to side with you and attempt to harm my brother… is this clear?"

"Crystal." Adonis muttered. "You cannot protect him forever, as well. What is the point of protecting him if you can't even save that brat from himself?"

He snickered to the comment. "I rather have my brother the way he is, flaws and all, than to leave him in your hands." Suiryu leaned in. "I don't give a shit that he's all important to you and the divine users since he can give you a little power boost. You keep failing to realize… no matter what you do… how you do it… none of you will beat the likes of me… or Satoru… are you truly that foolish to take such a chance?"

A smirk came over Adonis. "Be that as it may, Sukuna… and I will not call you by your so called… human name you gave yourself there. But rest assured, a dragon, no matter who or what they are, where they come from, are treasured and worth fighting for."

With that, Adonis stood up and was about to leave. He paused though as he turned around one final time. "If the dragon you claim was in your brother has been killed… then why do you wear the pendent?"

Suiryu smirked. "It gives me my natural human look." He said rather proudly. "Like hell any of you are gaining it, which remains me. Since the dragon is gone, why come for my pendent?"

But he said nothing, Adonis merely smirked as he walked away. Another snap of his fingers and the sound returned. The room was now gossiping about their conversation, but no one heard what was spoken.

"Divine users are a bigger pain in my ass than I thought. They don't care how many of their own die, just as long as they gain what they desire in the end… that, or what Yuuji is going to be that much more powerful… and they want him for that." he muttered. Then realized the Divine users are no different than the jujutsu sorcerers, especially when it comes to their elders.

"SUIRYU DARLING!"

He smirked and rolled his eyes a little. "D'angelo," he said.

"Darling, we have to have a talk later. Not now, when you have some time later on." He insisted. "In fact, let's wait until tomorrow."

"Sure, we got another big project tomorrow?"

"Well, a certain someone hasn't put out his début album yet!"

He paused. "Oh… right…" he muttered.

"I already called your band mates, and we are also going to do the Death Paintings tomorrow to, two for one!" he laughed.

He smirked and nodded in agreement. "I suppose we can put an album out… as bonus tracks, we will do some of the songs from the rock opera."

"OOooo I LOVE IT!" D'angelo squealed. "How about you go home and get some rest then, get those vocal cords nice and freshened up!" he insisted. "Besides, we've done all what we can do today too."

He agreed full heartedly.

Suiryu went to change and headed back to the school. Yet there was something eating away at him. Despite everything, the divine users are still desperate to obtain Yuuji. He's just going through the infant dragon stage, and there is no clear indication that he will survive it either. His mind has been opening up to other memories from Sukuna's past, some he has never seen before and yet, they feel to be important to what is happening to his brother.

"Perhaps tonight, I have to look through those, just so I know where we stand…" he said aloud to himself.

He was back at the school in no time.

First thing he did was check on Yuuji.

Eso told him he was in his own room, Choso took him back as the fox woman explained that she had something for Yuuji. So, he went to check. Yet as he strolled into his room, he saw Choso sitting on the ground next to his brother. "Choso," he whispered.

He got a reaction, slowly he eased himself up before leaving the room. Choso kept peering back, just as Suiryu closed the door. "Is it okay to leave him like that? He saw me in the room when he fell asleep…"

"He'll be fine, why were you staying in there?"

He hesitated to speak, but then said. "Little brother was acting strange today, he wanted someone to be with him, as well, wanted to be held oddly enough. But now, he seeks comfort. Kitsune brought him some nice blankets, he has taken two for himself and I know they will keep him warm… yet… Suiryu, is he okay?"

He paused to consider his answer. "I'm sure he is, this is all new and different, as well… Yuuji may not be able to control his own actions right now. It's why he's taking stuff without asking or even returning it. At the moment, I could care less. I already ordered more blankets and shit like that so we're going to be fine."

Still, what Choso said bothered him. Yuuji is becoming very clingy to say the least, various things are starting to scare him, make him uncertain of his own world…

Suiryu merely nodded. "After tomorrow, I'll spend more time with him."
