Unmei Force: Solitary Legends: The Creed of Fate
Sequence 01: New Threat, Old Times
Part 1: A Deadly Performance
As Siege and Richard were overlooking things while Weiss and Reisen, and their entire group were finishing things up down in the Killing Bites universe, Siege soon noticed something odd.
Multiple universes were showing signs of being under attack, however, not in the current times. Rather, they were being attacked in past timelines of the universe.
"Richard. We got something pretty serious over here." Siege said to Richard as he looked at the worlds.
"I've heard…" Richard remarked, with an annoyed expression. "Jeez, this is not going to be easy to fix… You got something that can actually catapult people back through time? It would help a damn lot."
"I do, actually." Siege said. "You'll see what it is when we get to it. For now, we need some candidates for the job, who can act in both stealth and lethality. I have one in mind, but I fear one isn't enough in this situation."
"Selkie is one of them, isn't she? Just seeing her transform herself, and how she fights… She'd make a good covert operative." Richard remarked. "Then again, if Selkie is coming, Velouria is not too far behind. Sure, she might be a little rough around the edges, but if she's taught the importance of proper subterfuge and its basic, she'll take to it quite quickly."
"While those two weren't who I was referring to, you make valid arguments for both." Siege nodded. "And Raditz would be perfect for someone with just raw attack and lethal capabilities. Koyomi too, even if she looks a little young. I would also recommend we have Mai on this little venture. She's a fox, so by nature she's stealthy. I'll go retrieve who I was referring to. Greet our allies as they return, and get the attention especially of the ones we talked about." Siege said, before leaving the room as the teleporter in the Hall began to whir to life, signifying the return of Weiss, Reisen, and their group.
"We've returned, with some new members." Reisen answered back.
"Would you look at that, you weren't kidding when you said this place is extravagant…" Hitomi answered back, before he then noticed the two leaders."Huh, so this is the guy you work under. He's deceptively powerful in such a silk-smooth appearance."
"I assume that you're acquainted with our members?" Richard asked back. "Name's Richard, Richard Liu. I'm one of the leaders of this little joint force, and the proud commander of this space base. Call me what you like, so long it doesn't go towards a major insult. I'll be sure that you'll have what you like here."
"Say, where's Siege?" Raditz would ask Richard. "He usually doesn't miss greeting new people, unless there's something bigger that is happening."
"Oh, he's just preparing a few things. Some of you are going to be sprung back into the fire." Richard grinned back. "Not sure about the details of the mission, but you're going to be doing a bit of history-fixing, like your brother once helped to do, and the both of us several times over."
"Huh… And who's coming along exactly?" Velouria asked back.
"We'll need both you and Selkie. And then we need Raditz, as well that girl Koyomi, as much as it unsettles both of us." Richard answered back, before turning to Mai. "Of course, we'll need your help as well, Ms Shinozaki, your talents would help greatly."
"I would be honoured to take the role-" Mai stated.
"Wait, hold up, I just got here and I'm left out of the fun already?" Hitomi asked, slightly miffed.
"Yeah, let us have some fun as well!" Eruza declared.
"Calm down, both of you." Taiga sternly stated, as both of them quieted down. "I assume that you have a proper reason for all of this. However, they are right to a degree. They need something to occupy them, for they get fairly bored without something… challenging so to speak."
"Of course, I accounted for that. Reisen, be a helpful team-mate, and take them to the sims… I assure you both, you'll be surprised at what kind of things that our stuff can do." Richard answered back.
"Got it. Hitomi, Eruza, come with me." Reisen told the two female Brutes, as they followed her out of the room.
"Taiga, Ui, Come with me." Weiss said, as the aforementioned two came with her.
"Well handled, Richard." Siege said, walking into the room, with a figure following him, being dressed in some rather interesting pink clothing. "I assume you've gotten the attention, and Weiss and Reisen have taken account for the Brutes not coming along. Everything is ready… and allow me to introduce the operative I was referring to."
Stepping aside, everyone got a good look at the person, as Richard nearly choked on his own spit seeing who it was.
"Everyone, for those of you who don't know, which I can assume is besides Richard since he is in stark disbelief, meet Aerith." Siege said, as Aerith gave a friendly wave to everyone.
"Huh, wha, buh, ha-" Richard blabbered, before he then slapped himself across the face to get his wits together. "Okay, mental breakdown over. I suppose that you've got to have an Aerith on your rolodex to recruit, don't you? Glad that we can give her a purpose beyond her original one."
"Things is that I saved her. Ever since I saved her life, she's wanted to help me like I helped her: To travel back in time, and stop villains who want to alter it. For a threat that is as big as it seems, however, we need more than just her around. This is where the rest of you come in." Siege said. "Now don't worry, we're not just gonna toss you all in. Aerith, being familiar with the technology, can guide you all through using the very machine that will take you all back through time: The Animus."
"The Animus?" Richard repeated. "Oh, that's a perfect solution to the problem. If it is possible to step in the shoes of the past in order to witness history, it's no far stretch to use it to go back in time and manipulate past events, specifically in this case, fix it back to its original flow… with minor yet helpful changes."
"Precisely." Siege said as they had begun walking when Richard started in on the Animus, soon opening a door to a Blue tinted room, with 6 Animus machines laying in wait for the team to get into. "Here we are. It's best we get started right away. So, Aerith, mind taking your team-mates through how to use the Animus?"
"Of course. Strap in everyone." Aerith said as she soon got into her machine, as everyone else soon began to follow.
"Now as you know Richard, we can't just simply leave them unattended. Someone has to be in here, monitoring vitals and everything else in regards to their health and care." Siege explained.
"So will that be you or me?" Richard asked back.
"I suppose I shall do it, since you probably have a busy agenda keeping the other Brutes occupied." Siege said. "We could also do shifts as well, but for now…" Siege said, soon approaching a computer. "Everyone strapped in?" Siege asked, as everyone gave thumbs up. "Okay! Sending you into the Animus now!"
Their machines whirred to life… and before long, all 6 of them found themselves in the white space of the Animus.
"Whoa… talk about white space…" Selkie said as they looked around, while Aerith smiled at them.
"Impressive, isn't it? Now then, let's get you all familiarized with the Animus." Aerith said, as the Animus soon began to provide a parkour course towards their destination. "Okay, let's test out your free running capabilities. Follow me."
Aerith dashed ahead, beginning to climb up the short ledges with ease. The rest began to follow, finding this to be rather easy. There were some obstacles to avoid, but those were no issue either.
"Hey, well done!" Aerith said. "You kept up! Now comes the next part, let's see how well you guys can climb."
Aerith slid down to the next big obstacle, a wall with nothing other than small bumps to grab onto, but Aerith used these incredibly well, scaling the wall. The others followed, having relatively no issue either.
"Not bad, not bad at all! Now for the fun part, some actual parkour!" Aerith said, as various objects appeared over gaps that seemed like an endless fall. Aerith began to free run on them like a parkour boss.
The others followed, as yet again, there was no issue for them, apart from a slip by Koyomi, but Raditz caught her before she could fall into the seemingly endless pit below. Everyone caught up to Aerith as she smiled looking back at them.
"All of you are here! Now, just one more thing to get you all fully synchronized with the Animus. Use these ledges provided, and air assassinate all 10 of these guards." Aerith said, pointing at two lines of five British redcoats.
"Is that all? Ha! Easy." Raditz said, getting into position.
"You gotta time it well though." Aerith warned. "If one of you jumps the gun too early, before others are ready, the guards will notice and we'll need to run the whole scenario again."
"So it's an exercise of synchronisation… Huh, I get it." Velouria answered back. "How about we make a mental countdown to each other, and get into position by then… Heard it worked for a group of soldiers, should work with us."
"Right." Raditz said, as they soon utilized that.
And using that method, they successfully assassinated all 10 soldiers from leaps and drops, without need for retry.
"Well done!" Aerith complimented. "How are they looking, Siege?"
"Let's see… that checks out… so does that… have a clear visual of vitals… yep! Fully Synchronized!" Siege declared.
"Good. Now, on to this mission." Aerith said as the group walked forward.
"Right. For this mission of most importance, you'll be heading into a rather recognizable era of any history. One of the most admirable events of the times: The American Revolution." Siege said as the clothes and even slight appearances of the group began to shift. "You'll also be taking part in the French and Indian War. We want to leave no stone unturned, for any irregularities with this Point of View in history. You should be getting new clothes and appearances, as well as some name shifts to fit the era, which shall be displayed now." Siege informed.
Raditz - Riccard Edelsohn
Koyomi - Komi Heraldsin
Aerith - Aerith Mackelroy
Mai - Mia Shelbertson
Selkie - Selda Miccosin
Velouria - Victoria Langsay
As far as clothing went, they all got clothes in what appeared to be colonial British clothing, with hats to go along with it. A lot of women in that time didn't wear militaristic uniforms like the men, but those who did were the ones recognized for their influence and power, which was why they all were dressed similar. Raditz's hair was also fitted to be more British-like, and as for hair color, Velouria's hair was shifted to a hazel color, while Koyomi's turned black.
"Now then. As for the person you all will be helping for the first bit of this journey, you'll be in the company of Haytham Kenway." Siege said. "He'll remember you all as friends from the British military, so that there isn't any trouble ahead. The scene is changing now to the London Theatre Royal, where you're going to be alibi for Kenway should he be stopped for questions regarding an act he is about to do."
The scene soon came up, as Kenway was seen looking at a clock, before noticing the group coming his way.
"Ah. There you all are. I was getting worried, Riccard. Thought you weren't going to make it." Haytham said as he walked towards the theatre now, with the others in tow.
"You know as well as I do that I wouldn't miss this for the world." Raditz said, his tone having altered to sound more British.
"Heh, you mean serving as my alibi?" Kenway joked.
"If that's how it is, that's how it is." Velouria answered back, dusting her shoulder off.
"Glad you are understanding of the situation, Victoria." Haytham said as they soon arrived at the theatre.
"Invitations?" A lobbyist soon asked, as Haytham and the others gave the man their hats, with the invitations inside, as he was rather baffled at the quick giving of the hats.
"Attention ladies and gentlemen! The production will begin soon! Please find your seats!" Another lobbyist soon spoke up, as Haytham led the group ahead to find a row of seven available seats.
They soon found said row and took their seat, while Haytham began to look around.
"Do you see him?" Raditz would ask Kenway, before Kenway's keen senses spotted his target in the balcony to the right of the stage.
"There." Kenway said as he looked to where his target was.
"Knowing this place? The stairs will be heavily guarded." Selkie spoke.
"Meaning you'll need to find another way." Aerith spoke.
Kenway looked to the left, seeing where he could reach his destination, through some grabbing of narrow ledges, of course.
"I already have." Kenway said, before getting up and heading that way. Not long after the group watched Kenway maneuver to the area behind the balcony his target was on, they soon saw the man Haytham was supposed to kill slump in his chair.
"That's our cue." Raditz said, getting up as did the rest, to make their way out.
As they left, they noticed that Kenway followed closely to them, as they saw that the kill has been discovered, as evident by the law forces pouring in and seizing one of the nearby patrons and harshly interrogating him.
"...It's not safe here, we need to quickly make our exit, Haytham." Mai harshly whispered to Kenway.
"I know. We're there." Haytham said, pointing to the exit with the carriage that could hold six waiting for them, as they quickly entered.
"How was the-" the driver began to ask, before being interrupted by Velouria.
"If you're asking about the opera, it got cut short. Shame really." Velouria answered back.
The driver nodded before shutting the door, before getting in his seat. "Shall we be off then?" He asked.
"Aye. To Fleet and Bride." Haytham said.
"By your command." The driver said as they took off.
Raditz and the others were ordered to stay outside while Haytham was in meeting with those inside Fleet and Bride, as Haytham had grabbed the necklace around his target's neck. It was believed that Haytham was holding a key to a storehouse holding something of great value. Haytham was to be dispatched to Boston, with his current group in tow, and to recruit five more members, which was listed on a piece of paper that Haytham had.
"Ah, there you are. Must have been quite the meeting." Raditz said to Haytham.
"We are to head to Boston in America, in search of a storehouse. I am believed to have the key to it." Haytham said. "The ship to Boston leaves at dawn."
"We'll be there." Aerith said, as they parted ways for the night.
Part 2: Journey to America
Raditz and his group soon met with Haytham, ready to board the ship to Boston.
"I suppose you all are ready, then?" Haytham asked Raditz and his group.
"More or less." Mai answered back. "Is there anything on your end that you need to prepare with?"
"Nothing else comes to mind." Haytham said. "Let us depart."
They all got in the boat and it was off to Boston.
Atlantic Ocean: Day 3
It had been a few days since departure, and the group had decided to explore the boat, while Haytham was still in his quarters. They would walk above deck to get some fresh air, when some rowdy members of the ship looked their way and chuckled.
"Look at this, the esteemed guests have decided to grace us with their presence!" One of the men said, causing a laughter among the crewmates, as Raditz rolled his eyes, as did the others.
"So, what's ladies like you doing walking around when you should be at home like you're supposed ta be?" The rowdy crewmate said, grabbing for Velouria, as Selkie backhanded him.
"Lay a single hand on us and you'll find yourself a grave when we reach America." Selkie coldly said.
"Oh yeah? And what's that brat with you then? I bet that you're all just limp-wristed-" The crewmate stated, before Koyomi walked forward, before grabbing his hand, and dislocating his wrist with a single flick. "ARGH!"
"Care to repeat that?" Koyomi remarked with a frigid tone. "I'd be careful who you talk to, limp-wrist."
"Oh little bitches. Come on boys!" Another rowdy crewmate said, as three of them mobilized to attack Koyomi, Velouria, and Selkie.
"You want a fight, you damned wretches? Then come and get yours!" Velouria taunted, opening the fight with a hay-maker that floored one of the unruly crewmates.
Selkie would follow suit in slamming down rowdy crewmates, beating one bloody before knocking him down, as Koyomi's only took one shot, before he drew a knife in an attempt to attack Koyomi again.
Koyomi immediately noticed the weapon, as she grappled the crew-mater, who was surprised for the moment, when she pushed him back, before she then locked his knife-wielding arm and crushed it hard enough for him to drop his knife onto the ground, as Koyomi knocked it away, before head-butting the crew-mate hard with a jumping head-butt.
"What's all this then!?" Haytham yelled as he came to observe the situation, as the ship's captain did the same, both angry, before a more mannered crewmate spoke up.
"Just a little fun, you know how boring these trips can get. Just a little sport doesn't hurt." Said the mannered crewmate.
"Well stop all this rubbish and get back to work! As for all of you, follow me." The captain said to the group and Haytham, walking towards his quarters. As they walked, his tone became one of concern. "These troublesome lot… they have a lot of problem with authority, so it only comes natural that they show little respect to you lot."
"Humph. As if there's anything to do about that." Haytham said.
"While you are right, there is something else of concern to me." The captain said as they arrived in his quarters, as they closed the door behind them. "They don't trust you, moreso than their dislike towards me. I'd rather not see an insurrection come from this."
"Well what are we supposed to do about it?" Raditz asked.
"Keep your eyes open, in case any of this crew tries any… funny business." The captain said. "The last thing I need is for our journey to America to land us in a shipwreck because of the crew not liking us."
"That is a fair concern." Mai answered back. "We can keep an eye on your crew, and intervene if it is needed."
"Thank you." The captain said, and the conversation was left at that, as everyone returned to their quarters.
Atlantic Ocean: Day 28
As Selkie and Velouria were getting some fresh air, they noticed something rather odd…
Some of the barrels aboard the ship, suddenly being out in the ocean, as if they were tossed out.
"Huh… That's interesting. Barrels to the sea… and they're thrown periodically and quickly… you think that means something?" Velouria asked Selkie.
"We should definitely inform Haytham. Or the captain." Selkie said.
"Yeah, this is a sign of trouble." Velouria answered back, before they made for Haytham. "Haytham, we found some crewmates lugging barrels into the sea. I think that they're trying to leave a trail to the ship, I believe."
"A trail…?" Haytham would ask. "Why would they… This calls for some investigation, ladies. We must find out why someone would be leaving a trail."
"I'll ask around." Mai offered, before she then looked around for a sailor to speak with, finding one sitting on a barrel. "You there, I have some questions for you."
"I'm not the person you should be asking for information. You want some? Try the cook, or the janitor. They'll know something." The sailor said. "Always having conversations to listen to, those two."
"Alright then." Mai stated, before she then sought the chef, who was cleaning up. "I would like to ask you some questions about the crew, sir."
"Augh, can't you see I'm busy? What you wanting to know about, anyways? All I've heard recently was that they're planning some sort of revolt, they're always complaining about something, so the best way they see to make things better is to revolt." The chef said. "But if you really want to know about it, speak to James, the fella sitting on the barrel behind you."
Mai would turn around to see an African American sailor sitting on a barrel.
"Are you James?" Mai asked politely.
"Aye." James said, folding his arms as Mai walked up.
"Mia Shelbertson. Although I might assume that you might have known about me and our little group, am I right?" Mai answered back.
"Yep. I know who you all are." James replied.
"I have some questions to ask about the crew. The chef directed me to you." Mai stated.
"I figured as much. But not here." James said, getting up as he took Mai above deck, where no one could listen in. "So… what do you want to know?" James asked as he sat on a nearby barrel.
"I'll be fairly blunt, since there is no point in being otherwise." Mai answered back. "There has been an intriguing pattern in the cargo dumped into the sea, as if it's a trail… Do you have any clue if this relates to the crew's dissatisfaction towards the captain?"
"All I know is that some of the men have been gathering at night on the upper deck. I've only caught hints of their conversations, so I can't say for certain what they're up to… but whatever it is, I suspect it bodes ill…" James explained.
"Hm… A mutiny is most likely. If any of the crew has pirate allies, this would be a clear sign of it." Mai deduced.
"All I know is they've little love for the captain. Mills has been trying to talk 'em down." James responded. "But… there's only so much one man can do."
"Mills, you say…" Mai remarked, before she then turned to leave. "Thank you for the information, it has helped a lot in figuring out what the intentions of the crew are. I wish you well."
"I only wish to see us all reach the colonies alive." James said, as Mai knew now what she had to do.
Mai Objective: Report Your Findings to Haytham
Optional Objectives:
Report to your fellow Teammates: 0/3
Mai immediately made her way down to the lower deck, as she moved past the crowds of partying crew-mates, before finding Koyomi lying on one of the beds, spread out, and Raditz nearby.
"Komi, Riccard, I have news for you." Mai told Koyomi. "What I have learned from one of the more… amicable crew-mates, is that the crew's dissatisfaction with the ship's captain is getting dangerous. The trail they left for pirate ships is strong evidence of that…"
"...Pirates… Will we have to fight them if it comes to that…?" Koyomi remarked.
"Unfortunately, we will have to." Raditz said. "But for now, we take this information in stride. Thanks for the report Mia. I suggest telling the others, then Haytham himself."
Report to your fellow Teammates: 1 / 3
Mai then moved forward, before she found that Selkie and Velouria were playing a game of Nine-Man Morris against each other, as Selkie made the final move to block Velouria last set of moves, winning her the game.
"Argh… Beaten again…" Velouria sighed. "Ah well, should have expected that much from you."
"Hey, you're getting better though!" Selkie said, when they saw Mai. "Ah, Mia. Anything of importance we need to know?"
"The mutinuous parts of the crew are likely to act. I suggest keeping your guard up around them, as well as expecting a pirate attack in a few days." Mai answered back.
"Good for me then, I'm itching to smack some people over, lethal or non-lethal, for a proper reason." Velouria answered back, before she then began to sort the pieces of the game for a new round.
Report to your fellow Teammates: 2 / 3
Mai would soon find both her last teammates as well as Haytham, playing a simple game of checkers with one another, as Haytham captured Aerith's last pieces, claiming victory.
"Blast… you're good at this!" Aerith said.
"Comes with practice, my dear." Haytham said, when he noticed Mai. "Ah, Mia. Any news to report?"
"Keep an eye on the crew." Mai answered back. "I have a feeling that we will have our fair share of troubles soon enough."
"Can you be more specific on that?" Aerith would ask. "What kind of trouble are we looking at? Insurrection? Or Mutiny?"
"Whatever one we do face, we'll face it head on." Haytham said. "Thank you for the information, Mia. No wonder you were in Riccard's platoon, your deduction and investigation skills are keen as a raven."
"It would be wiser to compare me to a fox… Their senses are fairly keen, and they have a good idea of the land around them." Mai answered back. "But your compliment is much appreciated nonetheless, Haytham."
And so, they rested for the night… and kept a sharp eye on the crew up until…
Atlantic Ocean: Day 33
As the ship was sailing through progressively worse weather, the captain soon approached the group plus Haytham.
"Any news?" The captain remarked.
"Each night it's the bloody same." Raditz said in disgust. "We track them down in one area then they move to the next, and they somehow avoid all or our eyes… we'll have to recruit another. Perhaps James or Mills."
"Why are they doing this?" The captain then asked.
"Far as we know, those painted barrels serve as markers. Those bastards are leaving a trail." Selkie said. "It may only be a matter of time before whoever's following it-"
"SHIP SIGHTED AFT! SHE'S MAKING READY TO FIRE!" A crewmate called from the Crow's Nest.
"Beat to the quarters, gentlemen! Ready to-" the captain began to yell, before shots came at their boat. "Brace! Everybody down!"
However, none of the shots hit, which made the captain realize what was happening. "A warning shot. They don't intend to sink us, but board us instead. To your stations! Make ready to fight!" The captain yelled, before turning to the group. "I want the lot of you below decks!"
"But what about you-" Koyomi asked back.
"Do you know how to rig a sail? To load a cannon? To wage war at sea? I didn't think so. Now return below deck, or do I need to have you all escorted?" The captain asked.
"Calm down, captain. We're simply concerned for your safety." Velouria answered back, before she was the first to make her way inside. Everyone else followed, before the hatch was secured.
"Sealed below deck, eh?" Mills would ask, as there were six other crewmates with him.
"Haven't you heard? There's a ship coming to board us. But it doesn't make sense… there isn't a sign of mutiny here." Haytham said.
"Ah, but it DOES make sense. Did you honestly think you all could get away with what you did at the opera? That we wouldn't follow?" Mills asked, as he stood up alongside the other six crewmates he had with him.
"Oh, I see where this is going… So much for being a neutral party in all of this." Velouria answered back, crossing her arms.
"Surrender, and we'll see you all be treated with honor." Mills said.
"Pah. If you're treating us with honor, then give us swords." Raditz said.
Mills smirked, as he and his crewmates grabbed seven pairs of swords, tossing one to each of the group. "You sure you want this?"
"Well, we're not surrendering. So what choice do we have?" Selkie asked as she readied her blade.
A short duel between both sides occurred, before Mills and those with him were swiftly killed. Now that they all knew what was going on, they quickly went back above deck to see the captain.
"I told you lot to stay below deck!" The captain yelled.
"We did as you asked, only Mills and a handful of others were there waiting for us. He's the one who drew this ship here. There was no mutiny. Only him." Raditz said.
"What do they want?" The captain asked.
"Us." Haytham replied.
"Then they can have you." The captain said.
"Is that so?" Selkie asked with an eyebrow raised.
"They'll catch us anyways. There's nothing to be done!" The captain said in slight guilt.
"We'll think of something." Aerith said, before walking towards the direction of the storm, catching the captain off guard.
"You want us to sail INTO the storm!?" He yelled.
"It's our only chance." Aerith said.
"I won't do it." the captain replied.
Haytham then turned to the captain, and readied his hidden blades. "Then I will." He said, before the captain raised his arms quickly.
"Alright, alright…" the captain said.
Atlantic Ocean: Later That Day
The storm was tossing and shaking both the boat that the group was on, as well as the other boat, as the group was trying to keep the ship going without becoming a shipwreck.
"We need those ropes secured! I told you all this was ma-" The captain began to say, before being interrupted by Velouria.
"Shut up and get your men sorted! I'll take care of the ropes!" Velouria remarked, as she slid over the deck towards where one of the sail ropes were, as she used her strength to lock the ropes in place, as she did them one by one quickly, surprising some of the crew with her efficiency.
More ropes were snapping apart, but the group was on it, being efficient as well.
"We need those sails deployed! Selda! Take the foremast! James! The main!" The captain yelled.
"Aye-aye!" Both Selkie and James said, climbing up their respective sails, as Selkie quickly had hers loosened, and James his, when suddenly, lightning struck, and one .of the sails fell over, with James hanging on for dear life, lest he fall to a horrid death.
"H-help!" James yelled.
"James! I'm coming!" Selkie yelled, before using the toppled over sail to get up to the main sail, and rush to James, tackling him to safety shortly after.
"Oh… thank you… thank you…!" James said to Selkie, as she looked towards the pursuing boat, as lightning struck it to where it immediately sank afterwards.
"Phew…" Selkie said, seeing the pursuing ship become a shipwreck, as the crew weathered out the storm, until they were in the clear.
Atlantic Ocean: Day 72
A few more weeks passed before they were approaching the mainland. For their astounding efforts in helping the ship and its crew, Haytham, and the main group had been awarded gold bars, to the tune of £1500. The group had already been above deck when Haytham arrived, as Raditz greeted him.
"Won't need to wait much longer friend! We're almost to Boston!" Raditz said with a smile.
"How can you tell? I can't see a damn thing through this blasted fog." Haytham said.
"Go up with Victoria on the Crow's Nest. You'll see what we mean." Selkie said with a smirk.
Haytham soon climbed his way up to the Crow's Nest, where he saw Velouria.
"So they weren't bluffing when they said you were up here, Victoria." Haytham mused as he joined her.
"Yeah, why don't you take a look yourself? I'm sure that you'd be surprised at what you'll see." Velouria smiled back.
Haytham would indeed take a look, as he saw the city of Boston ahead, a small smirk appearing on his face.
