Chapter 12
The Beagle Boys strike again
A knock from outside of a red door can be heard. The door is then opened to reveal Huey and April on the other side in their Junior Woodchuck uniforms.
" Hello sir we're selling Woodchuck cookies and we want to know if you would like to buy some today " Huey asked politely while April looks a bit nervous at the pig currently standing in front of them.
" Ah sure I'll take 3 boxes " The pig answers
" Excellent " April says as she reaches into the wagon and pulls out three boxes " That will be 9 do…..whoa " she screeches as she trips and inadvertently throws the three boxes in his face. The pig looks visibly irritated. April looks stunned
" Oh my. Sir we apologize deeply for that " Huey says trying to calm the situation.
" Get off of my porch. Now " The pig says in a low voice
" But we … " April tries to say before being cut off by the pig yelling " NOW "
" But what about the boxes of cookies? " Huey asks.
" I'm keeping them " The pig says before he slams his door.
" Hhhhhhmmmm " April vocalizes despondently
" It's okay. Accidents happen " Huey reassures her
" But it seems like accidents happen all the time with me. Why do I have to be so clutzy all the time? " April asks dismally lowering her head
" Hey you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Come on, it'll be alright. You can do the introductions and I'll get the cookies for the next house . Let's go " Huey says as he looks at her. April stares back at him before a small blush can be seen on her face.
" You okay April? You're looking a little red there " Huey states concerned
" Yeah I'm fine. Let's get to the next house already " April says hastily
Huey shrugs
" Why is it suddenly harder to interact with Huey. Curse you June " April thought
A screen of arrows going in all different directions can be seen going up the sceen in rapid succession, as iridescent lights can be flashing as characters can be seen dancing to the music being played. Dewey and May can then be seen tapping their feet matching the directions on the dance pads
" Marvelous. Marvelous. Marvelous. " The machine says in rapidly
" Dude we are killing it right " May shouts
" I know right. " Dewey shouts back.
" Marvelous. Marvelous. Marveilous. Marvelous" The machine continues
" We are so close to breaking the Co Op high score. Just alittle more " Dewey says
" Finished " The machine says " New high score "
" Yes " May shouts while fist pumping
" We did it " Dewey says as he high fives also hugs her, picks her up, and spins her around. When he drops her she looks at him stunned.
" What was that for " May says frantically
" It was a friend hug " Dewey answers
" What " May shouts
" You know to celebrate us getting the high score " Dewey tries to explains
" Well don't " May says back
" Oh sorry " Dewey says back sorrowfully
" Look don't be upset. I don't really like hugs. I don't even let my sisters or Aunt hug me like that " May explains
" Oh okay. I won't do it again. Want to go beat the high score on something else now? " Dewey asks cheerfully
" Sure let's go " May answers back as they walk to the next game May thinks to herself " Man I hope he bought that. You do not like Dewey. You do not like Dewey. You do not like Dewey. You feel attraction towards him, his cute face or his infectious smile. Wait what? I'm going to smack June in her mouth when I get home"
" Okay so what are we doing out here Llwellyn " June asks
" Don't call me that. Allright so remember when I was telling you about that idea I had " Louie inquired
" Yeah " June answers
" Well here it is " Louie says as he brings out a rolling cart full of jugs filled with sparkling water " Tada"
" Ooo sparkling " June says amazed
" Yup. We got alot of it on our last adventure " Louie explains
" Oh it's some weird magic water with unforeseen effects " June asks
" That's the best part; It's just water " Louie explains
" What " June asks in disbelief
" It's just ordinary water that happens to sparkle and shine " Louie says
" Okay, so what are we going to do with it Llewellyn " June asks
" I told you to stop calling me that " Louie says, sounding alittle frustrated.
" I'm sorry. I just love watching you get so upset " June says while stifling a giggle.
" Moving on; we are going to go to the park and sell bottles for 3 bucks each. We'll say things like it's superhydrating, and it replaces electrolytes. It'll make people want to buy it and will hopefully cause a placebo effect. The best part is it's costing us a cent and all we got to do is fill up some water bottles " Louie says confidently
" Louie that's so undedrhanded. I love it when do we start ?" June asks
" Yes. I knew I could count on you June " Louie says
" Oh anytime studmuffin " June says in a flirty way
" Really you're messing with me again " Louie says exasperated
" I'm not messing with you this time though " June says back
" Sure you're not. I'm going to get the supplies now " Louie says before momentarily leaving
" You will be mine Llewellyn Duck. Just you wait. " June says seductively
" So how many houses do we need to do " Huey asks
" Ten houses " April answers
" Hey, want to get some lunch after we're done with this " Huey asks
" Just the two of us " April asks nervous
" Yeah " Huey answers back confused
" Like a date " April thinks to herself as she blushes again
" You sure you're not sick because you're turning red again " Huey asks
" Uhh well uhh…. " April stuttered out.
" Well if it isn't Huey Duck " A voice said from behind the two of them
The two of them then turn around to find Bigtime Beagle
" Is he a friend " April asks
" Hardly. " Huey answers back
It's at that moment when more Beagle Boys set out from behind him.
" What's going on " April asks sounding alitlle worried
" We need to go " Huey says before grabbing April's hand and trying to run in the opposite direction before being met with more Beagle boys.
" You're not going anywhere " Bigtime says
Huey throws a box of cookies at the Beagles before the run past them. As they are getting away Huey is caught by one of them. April turns around to look back atb the scene
" Huey " April screams
" Just go and get help, I'll be fine " Huey says
April turns around runs as Huey is restrained
Dewey and May are exiting funzo when Dewey turns to May and says
" That was fun "
" Yeah it was " May responds
" I love when it's just the two of us " Dewey says
" What do you mean by that " May says frantically
" Well I mean, I know I haven't known for very long but I feel a real connection with you and I enjoy our time together " Dewey explains confused
" Oh okay " May says
" You good ? " Dewey asks
" Yeah why " May says
" You sure because you've been acting kind of weird today " Dewey adds
" What are you talking about? I'm not acting…. " May starts before Dewey interrupts her.
" Hold that thought. We got trouble " Dewey says interrupting her
At distance Burger and some other Beagle Boys can be seen staring down Dewey and May
" Alright get ready looks like we got a fight on our hands " Dewey says before getting into a fighting stance
" I'm ready to throw down " May says before getting into her own fighting stance
The Beagle boys run at them before they do the same. Burger tries to punch Dewey but he dodges and lands a punch of his own, He punches Burger again before jumping on his back and continues punching him until he falls forward. May tackles one and knocks him down before punching him in the face as another Beagle Boy comes up behind her and tries to attack her before Dewey kicks him away.
" That's what I call Deweying it. That was AMayzing " Dewey says
" Yeah is that the best you can do " May asks
Several more Beagle Boys arrive as she says that. The two then start to look panicked upon seeing this.
" How are we going to beat all of them " May asks
" We're not, which is why you need to get out of here " Dewey answers
" What do you mean " May asks
" I'm going to create a distraction and when I do, you take off " Dewey explains
" What? I'm not leaving you " May protests
" Look they're only after me, you need to get away while you can " Dewey says
" But " May says
" No buts. Just go, I'll be fine " Dewey says
May looks at him, before she takes off running off.
" Alright let's Dew this " Dewey says as the Beagle Boys start to surround him
Dewey gets a few punches off before they start to overwhelm him. May turns around to see this.
" Dewey" She yells before groaning angrily, punching the wall next to her and running away
Louie and June are counting money.
" Man you were right, this is lucrative " June says
" See I told you " Louie responds
" You're as just brilliant as you are handsome " June says in a flirty manner
Louie blushes a little
" Okay; two can play at that game " Louie says under his breath " Well you're not to bad looking yourself "
" Am I now " June says with a grin
" Your eyes sparkle more that this water " Louie adds
" Why thank you " June replies
" Your face has a lovely glow to it in this sunlight " Louie finishes
June then blushes
" Ha! How do you like it? " Louie asks
" What do you mean ? " June asks back
" It's not fun being teased is it " Louie replies
" But I'm not teasing you." June starts before noticing some customers walking towards them. "Oh heads up we got some more customers "
" Those aren't customers " Louie says upon turning around and noticing who they are
" What " June asks confused
" Alright, come quietly and no one has to get hurt " Bouncer says
" Okay I'll go peacefully but first you guys look thirsty; want some water? " Louie asks gesturing to the water bottles
" Sure " Bouncer says as he and the other beagle boys pick up some bottles and down them " Ahhh that hit the spot. Hey where'd he go "
Louie and June are running through the park when they run into a tall chain link fence. They look upon it in horror
" We don't have time to climb over this thing " June says
" Look there's an opening over there " Louie points out
They run over to it, as the Beagle Boys have almost caught up to them. June squeezes through but as Louie does his hoodie gets caught
" You're stuck " June says frantically
" Help me get loose " Louie says
Bouncer snatches Louie back through the gate. He holds him up by hoodie and stares at him menacingly as Louie stares back frightened
" Gotcha " Bouncer says
June witnesses this and covers her mouth before running away
Daisy enters McDuck Manor as she is greeted by Della, Donald, Scrooge and Webby.
" Afternoon Daisy. Here to pick up the girls I presume " Scrooge asks
" Yeah. Where are they? " Daisy asks
" They're still out doing things with the boys. They should be back any minute now " Donald answers
June enters the manor with tears in her eyes
" Oh hey it's June " Donald says upon noticing her entering but he quickly becomes confused about the mysterious absence of Louie " Uh where's Louie "
Upon Donald saying that she starts sobbing softly. Everyone immediately goes to her side. Webby pats her on the back.
" Sweetie what's wrong " Daisy asks softly
" Lassie " Scrooge adds
April then appears sweating and breathing heavily. Everyone looks up at her now
" April with no Huey " Della says before asking " April are you okay "
" Uh uh uh uh uh guh guh guh ggggggguuuuuhhhhhhhh " April sounds out
" Okay breath. Just explains to us what happened " Della says tries to calm her down
" Eheheheh " April stammers out
" Okay this is getting us nowhere fast " Scrooge says
May then enters with clenched fists
" And Dewey's not with her. Something happened to the boys " Webby says.
May then screams in frustration as she punches the wall
" Wow May calm down " Webby says as she walks up to May
" I'm sorry. I'm just so mad right now. They got Dewey " May explains
" Who got Dewey " Donald asks
" Some dog guys " Mays answers
" Eh the Beagle Boys " Della bemoans
" Those guys again " Donald adds
" If they got Dewey, then they probably have Louie and Huey as well " Scrooge summizes
" Don't worry girls. We'll get them back " Donald
" Allright family; It's time to go kick some Beagle butt " Scrooge say rallying everyone
As they start to take off for the junkyard, May interjects:
" Wait, I'm coming with you "
" I'm coming too " June says as she wipes away a tear
" Uhhhh me three " April strammers out
" Alright come on Lassie " Scrooge says as he waves for them to come with the them
" Wait " Daisy injects
" Look Aunt before you tell us it's dangerous we have to do this " May explains
" I understand that which I'm not stopping you I'm going with you " Daisy says
The boys are tied to a pole. Ma Beagle stand in front of them as multiple Beagle Boys keep watch Dewey pipes up:
" What do you plan to do with us exactly "
" Using you as bait to lure out the rest of the McDuck family " Ma Beagle
" Didn't you guys already try this " Louie points out
" Bigtime did. The reason it didn't work was because he's an idiot " Ma explains
" Ma " Bigtime says dejected
" He's your son. That's a cruel thing to say about him " Huey says
" All of my kids are terrible but Bigtime is the worst " Ma Beagle explains as she turns around to look at them
" Do you see how she treats me? " Bigtime asks rhetorically as he look at the boys guesturing towards her
" Ma Beagle, let my kids go " Donald says as everyone turns around to look at them
Everyone is standing in fighting stances as Della says:
" Alright Ma Beagle, give my sons over nice and easy and we won't hurt you "
" Much " May says angrily
" You hurt us. How are you going to do that from way up there? " Ma asks snidely
" Way up where? " Webby asks back confused
Suddenly a steel net suspends them high into the air. Ma laughs as Scrooge struggles to break it
" You guys wouldn't happen to have anything sharp to cut us down with would you " Scrooge asks
" There's my Junior WoodChuck pocket knife " April says as she pulls it out of her pocket
" That thing barely cuts rope. It's not going to be able to cut through these chains " May says angrily
" I was just trying to help " April somberly
" Alright Scrooge we'll let you and these brats go, if you surrender your fortune " Ma explains
" Never " Scrooge says sternly as he folds his arms and turns aways
" Come on you're really going risk your nephews lives over some money " Ma says mockingly
" If by some money you mean a multi million dollar fortune. I'd sooner die than give up mah fortune " Scrooge says definiantly
" Scrooge " Donald and Della yell
" What " Scrooge asks turning to them in confusion
Della, Donald and Scrooge start to argue incoherantly, that's whenDaisy notices a lever that Burger is leaning on. That's when she takes off her heel takes aim and throws it
" You two are so annoying " Scrooge says as she throws the heel
" Why because we don't want to die " The two say at the same time
The heel reaches it's mark and hits Burger square in the head causing him to fall forward switching the levers' directions which in turn causes the net to release. They all fall to the ground. Ma looks livid upon. They all get up
" Aunt Daisy; nice shot " June says
" You guys are always screwing up. Well get them " Ma commands as some Beagle Boys run at the ducks. Scrooge slaps one away with his cane, Donald uppercuts one, Della kicks one in the face, and Daisy swats one with her purse. In the chaos April somehow gets over the boys. She takes out her pocket knife and cuts them free. April pulls Huey in for a hug
" April, not that I'm not enjoying this hug or anything but maybe we should do this when our lives aren't in danger " Huey says confused
" Right sorry " April says mildly embarrassed
The boys and April run towards the group as they begin to retreated
" April I am sorry I doubted your knife " May says
" Hm " April hums
" How are we going to lose these guys? " Daisy asks concerned
" Like this " Scrooge says as he knocks away a piece of trash from a trash mountain that then comes crashing down on the Beagles. They are all buried in trash as the Ducks get away. The Beagles start to poke their heads out. Ma is the last to do so and when she does her face looks disgruntled, as she screams at the top of her lungs:
" You morons "
They are all back at McDuck Manor; May hugs Dewey tightly as he looks confused.
" I thought you only hug your Aunt and sisters " Dewey says
" Your an exception " May says softly
Dewey just shrugs and hugs her back.
" Glad to see you're okay Louie " June says relieved
" I bet you are. I heard from Webby about how you were crying when I got kidnapped " Louie says teasingly
" Yeah I was. I really worried that something happened to you. The thought of anything happening to you makes me sick " June says earnestly
Louie drops his grin and says " Okay listen these kind of things happen all the time and we usually come out okay. Am I okay with it? No. Do I deal with it? Yes but that mostly because I don't have much of a choice So try not to get so beaten up about it okay"
Louie smiles at her, she smiles back
" Okay girls I think we had enough excitement for one day. Good night Duck family. I'm going home and going straight to bed. Also I need a new heel but I will deal with that in the morning " Daisy says drowsily
" Wait uh Daisy before you go, I'd just like say you did a good job out there. If you hadn't made that shot we'd probably still be up there screaming at each other " Della says with a smile
" Oh well thank you " Daisy says as she leaves through the door
" Night everybody " April says as she and her sisters exit
Everyone watches as they leave
" Okay I'm starting to believe her now " Louie says offhandidly
" Believe what " Dewey asks
